I'm definitely adding Vanda to my restaurant rotation. The food is delicious, service is great, and the ambiance is nice. The focaccia bread was outstanding, and definitely one of the highlights of the experience. The pasta is to-die-for. The cocktails are inventive and delicious. My only complaint is the parking lot is REALLY small and for such a busy restaurant, there were cars parking all over the place in not real parking spots. Obviously they can't control the footprint of the parking lot, but just keep it in mind especially if you plan to come here at a busy time. read more

This is the first time here and we were amazed with everything from start to finish.The waitress Rachael was very knowledgeable explaining many dishes were weren't familiar with and everything here is fresh and made from scratch. We started with a large loaf of fresh made Focassia bread that came out of the oven with a special butter and olive oil. It was so light and delicious we ate the entire loaf with our party of 4. As an appetizer the egg plant was to die for served with their homemade sauce. It was light and a bit crispy and so delicious. As an entree I had the Cece de Pepe with sausage and it was served aldente. The portion was huge and with the many cheeses that went into making it I was in my glory and ate the entire portion. For dessert we split the butterscoch pudding and the Olive oil cake with blueberry topping and they were the best desserts and out of this world. This place probably seats 60 people and is very clean and organized. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu. From start to finish, we had a fantastic night at Vanda. We had dinner on a Friday night, and let me tell you, every table was reserved! We were seated promptly and offered time to review the menu. We decided to order the focaccia bread, and it was phenomenal- as expected. We enjoyed the cranberry infused butter along with the other pairings. We also tried the calamari, which was very good. I enjoyed the duck fusilli for my meal. The portion was very generous. And because it was so flavorful, I ate it all up! My husband enjoyed the orecchiette pasta special as well. Both of our meals surpassed our expectations. The ingredients were fresh and cooked with finesse. We honestly are pleasantly surprised with this small, unassuming restaurant in Warwick. The food was excellent but we were asked if we wanted bread but we're not told there was a $7 charge for 1/2 loaf (and $12) for a full loaf. The waiter should have informed us prior to ordering it. We complained to him when the bill came, and he went to the manager and she wouldn't take it off the bill. So we spoke to her directly and she still wouldn't. Plus it was my birthday and there was no dessert offered for birthday celebration. Yet we noticed the manager brought out a complimentary small plate of a pasta dish for the table of four behind us "to try," a slap in the face to us. So this restaurant will lose 3 customers over a 1/2 loaf of bread. Poor management! What was supposed to be a nice celebratory evening for us left us with a bad taste for the restaurant. read more

We have been on the hunt for a local Italian restaurant. Well, I can say that we have found it! Vanda hit our first order out of the park! Hubby ordered Veal Milanese and I had the Roasted Statler chicken and thigh with spinach risotto. He had the homemade focaccia which was awesome. I have a gluten allergy so unfortunately I cannot comment on the bread, but he ate a good sized portion. I ordered the Butterscotch Budino for dessert. It was so good! Hubby said the service at pick up was great. We look forward to eating at the restaurant vice ordering takeout next time. Great job Vanda! read more

Great service, casual but classy interior. Bring your date here, but also your relatives. They accommodate parties. Some wonderful dishes. The charcuterie was odd, lovely meats, one soft cheese, but for the slim remaining ingredients, a selection of hard cheeses, there were only brittle tasteless crackers, so you're forced to order focaccia, which seems made to order. The focaccia went over well with the table, and is a do over, when and if we have the chance to return. Alexi our server made it a super visit. He mentioned a drink special, a peach margarita, and it was perfect, made by him actually! The atmosphere was moderately and enjoyably noisy, from all the pleased diners around us. What a way to end a Birthday Celebration time away ... While traveling back from CT, we decided we wanted Italian. After watching an older movie (Big Night '96 film staring Tony Shalhoub and Stanley Tucci) we have been craving AUTHENTIC Italian. We found it! From the moment we stepped inside we knew we were in a unique restaurant. We were warmly greeted and seated. Toni came over and welcome us. We asked for her recommendations. We went with them. We started with their made daily FOCCACIA half. It was presented on a rustic cutting board with oil, house made butter and a garlic paste. This bread does NOT compare to anything we have ever had before. It was crunchy, airy, tasty and divine. Toni recommend we pair it with the EGGPLANT appetizer. This is not something we would ordinarily order, but we decided to go ALL IN. The sauce was hands down the BEST POMODORO we have ever had. It had fresh basil, garlic & ricotta. For our main course we once again, trusted Toni. My wife got the BUCATINI with CACIO E PEPE sauce & BURRATA. She added their housemade sausage. The sausage was outstanding. Loved the herbs and flavor explosions in our mouth. The CACIO E PEPE sauce was delectable, peppery and oh so satisfying. For my main course ( besides enjoying my wife's) I again went with Toni's recommendation and got the GNOCCHI ALLA SORRENTINA in the epic POMODORO sauce. I have never had Gnocchi before. They were light and heavenly. They tasted like little angel kisses. For dessert Toni Testified To us about the BUTTERSCOTCH BUDINO.... In the words of Janice "Oh, My Gawd!" (Friends Reference) This deliciously decadent dessert was like love in a mason Jar. Pecans, Toffee, Carmel, cocoa crumbles on top of housemade pudding....to die for!! Had a chance to visit this place while visiting R.I. the place had great reviews so we decided to go there. It was a beautiful day, it was warm and the family and I decided to stop bye. We didn't have reservations but they sat us outside which was actually nice. I would say I was bit disappointed by the main course, they look3d great but wasn't what I was expecting flavor wise. The appetizers and dessert were great so in balance I think a 4 star rating is fair. Also, service was pretty good, the lady we had was super helpful. I had the gnocchi, the gnocchi itself were small pieces where I'm used to bigger pieces. The amount was enough it was very soupy and a bit salty for my taste. Wife had the Bolognese which was ok. The calamari and the bread were to die for, those were the highlight to be honest. Gelato was very good dessert wise and believe it or not was not impressed by the tiramisu. A good restaurant in a random spot next door to Captains Catch in Apponaug. It was small a cozy inside- read: small- so make your reservations well in advance! The view is mostly of the Cumby next door but the place itself is cute and the service was wonderful. We all had delicious appetizers (the eggplant was tasty and the arugula salad was fresh). The duck pasta has very tender duck in an otherwise nondescript sauce, and the steak was grilled medium rare as ordered. We went to this highly anticipated restaurant for the first time to celebrate a birthday. I ordered a chicken pasta dish. The taste was good but halfway through my bite, I noticed metal, steel wool in my food. I called the server over discreetly and told him. The female manager then came over and apologized. She said she knew exactly what it was. Steel wool from cleaning the pans- that it happens from time to time. She then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to eat the chicken out of same the dish that I had just found steel wool in. Apparently she didn't care or understand the gravity of this situation. Lunch at Vanda was delicious. The arugula and radicchio salad was so refreshing. Both pasta dishes were made to perfection and the sausage in the bucatini was fragrant with fennel. The service was excellent also. Our salad was brought on a big plate and then divided for us at the table onto smaller plates. The ambience is very inviting and bright. This is probably the best Italian inspired food south of Providence. A far cry from heavy sauces and the standard eggplant and chicken Parmesan dishes served in most Italian restaurants. We will definitely be back. Prices are also reasonable. read more

We had a nice dinner at Vanda last weekend. Salads were good and dinners were cooked well - a little salty but delicious. Focaccia is out of this world. Several items our server mentioned as ingredients in the dishes were left off when they arrived.. The vibe is light and airy. Our table by the bathrooms was unfortunate (smelly and distracting) but the staff tries very hard to keep the bathroom doors closed the best they can. Vanda was absolutely incredible. They had a special tomato and eggplant soup finished with some slices of parmigiano reggiano and garnished herbs. It was a delicious and comforting soup. The focaccia bread was homemade and splendid, along with the eggplant parmesan appetizer. For the entree, I got the Agnolotti Pasta with Sage Brown Butter. Out of this world. I highly recommend this dish - it's the perfect Fall meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. This is an excellent spot for a date night or a night out with friends or family. Had a remarkable dinner with my husband on Saturday evening. The service was great as was the focaccia bread and eggplant appetizer ( as always)! But what really stole the show was the pasta special my husband ordered- orecchiette, cherry tomatoes, sausage and mushrooms. The dish was so flavorful and fresh. First the hostess opened the door for us showed us to a table, one of the staff pulled out our chairs for us. Our waitress Brittany was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and menu. We both opted for the specials I had shrimp puttanesca served with homemade pasta my husband had the grilled pork chop added the garlic bread and the wine that complemented both dishes, everything was very tasty including our dessert choices, olive oil cake served with gelato and butterscotch pudding.
