This place is a sleeper and not to be missed. It is so good! We've come here at least 6 times since first discovering it. You can tell it's a local favorite when you dine here because of how busy the restaurant gets and all the foot traffic for takeout. There's not a bad thing on the menu. Our favorite is the pad Thai. It's the best pad Thai I've had anywhere. I'm not sure how "authentic" it is for those crazy Yelpers, but in terms of taste, presentation and the plentifulness of green onions it's the best in my book. Here's what we've tried: Pad Thai 5/5 Pad see ew 4/5 Pumpkin curry 5/5 Tom Kha 4/5 Tom yum 4/5 Garlic prawns 5/5 Mango curry 4/5 Larb salad 5/5 Eggplant basil with tofu 5/5 Lime tea 4/5 Thai tea 5/5

Food was very filling and great flavors! Gladly able to come back again to the other items they have to offer!

lunch combo: YELLOW CURRY and PAD THAI

we came on a friday shortly after opening and was seated immediately. interior was clean, sunny, and nicely decorated, with nice photos on the walls. service was okay, server was nice but i felt my requests (to-go box/restroom location) felt like i was inconvencing them. i really liked how unique their lunch combo was, as i've never seen pad thai or satay available at any other restaurant before. salad dressing was refreshing and tart. the yellow curry had the perfect amount of spice (for someone who has a very low spice tolerance). the pad thai had much thinner noodles from what i'm used to, but had such good flavor. the shrimps were large and were an extra $2 ON TOP of the provided tofu. for $17 i think it was an excellent deal, with a good amount of food that left me at a good level of fullness.

This spot is so cute and I love the authentic Thai flavors. My favorite go to dishes are the Tom ka, the yellow chicken curry and the fried yams. The fried yams have a thick tempura style batter and are served with the most delicious peanut sauce. I also love the pad Thai and the green curry when I'm feeling spicy. The service is always great and welcoming. This is the best place to get Thai in the sunset!

Another delicious meal at our local treasure I just had a rough day with medical appointed was in a bad mood Fortunately, it occurred to me Vanida Thai is open Mondays and I treated myself to dinner ( take out so I could eat in my pjs!) Tom kha with tofu, pumpkin curry and Thai iced tea. So good!! Instant happiness while I waited in their comfortable dining room ( far too empty) with photos on the wall and clean tables ready to serve A family run establishment with great service Please go support our neighborhood restaurant and enjoy their yummy food

Stumbled on this Thai restaurant 9 years ago and I'm glad they're still in business. We love their lunch specials at Vanida Thai and they're even available on the weekends. D2 chose the chicken satay and the garlic pork. I had the eggplant with pork and pad thai. Not shown the option for salad or small soup. I had the soup and she had the salad. Very attentive and wildly popular spot for locals. The restaurant itself isn't very big. I honestly should come more often.

I dont often leave reviews but for vanida, the Service was beyond amazing. This is a nice family owned spot and I personally had a tai iced tea with my food and it was superb. Something about the environment indoors that makes it not just a restaurant, but a calming atmosphere. I WILL be coming back and vanida definitely has a new loyal customer.

Chicken Satay - super tender and moist!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. We all noted that it was truly the perfect dinner portion where you leave full but not stuffed. The price is extremely reasonable for SF as well, so that combo of right size and right price really tickles my fancy. Cambodian Beef Skewer ($12): Bomb. Like, really wonderful. Tender, charred, salty, a bit sweet, and umami. This is one of their specialties, and I see why! It is absolutely one of the best skewers I've ever had. Pumpkin Curry w/ Chicken ($18) + White Rice ($3): So delicious. Silky-smooth curry loaded with all the mix-ins. If you like curry, just get it. I took a bite of my brother's Loc Lac ($15): also great. There was a broth + egg noodle-based dish that I can't remember the name of that was also super good. On the side, we ordered some Roti ($3 ea), and those were flaky and crispy. Finally, dessert was also fantastic. I LOVE to see a restaurant kill the mains and also bring out wonderful desserts. - Mango Sticky Rice ($8): Truly so good. I loved the sesame seeds on the mango to add some crunchy nuttiness to an otherwise smooth dish. They executed very well. - Fried Banana with Honey ($8): Could pop like 10 of these. I say order. - Roti w/ Ice Cream (between $8 - 12): fun, yummy. Probably my least favorite dessert, but still good. Amazing work, Megan's Table!!! If you are in the area, don't miss it :)

We ordered: 1) Beef skewers ($13 for 2 skewers) - The flavor was good but I would've liked them grilled for just a tad longer to get those caramelized bits. Mom found them to be a bit too chewy for her taste. 2) Chicken laab ($17) - Mom liked this one. Flavor was good and not too citrusy. 3) Khao Soi ($20) - Kiddos love their noodles. The broth was flavorful but a bit too spicy for me. 4) Loc Lac ($19) - The beef was good - tasty with the dipping sauce. However, like another reviewer noted, it was missing that wok hei flavor. 5) Tom Kha w/ chicken ($17) - It was ok. 6) Crab Fried Rice ($20) - Good but the price may be a bit steep for what is was. 7) Mango Sticky Rice ($9) - The mangos were a bit tart but ok when eaten with the rice. 8) Fried Banana ($8) - I didn't try this but mom liked it as they were served hot. There were about 5 pieces which, together, may make up one whole fried banana. Overall, the food was good; however, nothing in particular stood out. Glad to have given them a try.

I came here with friends, and the best part was that the dishes are perfect for sharing family-style. We got to try a little bit of everything, and every dish felt comforting and authentic. The restaurant is fairly small but the service is quick, so the line goes by pretty quick. We ordered the Beef Roll Pancake, which was one of my favorites. The filling was savory and flavorful, while the pancake itself had the perfect texture: crispy on the outside but still fluffy and soft inside. So satisfying! We also shared the lamb and chicken skewers, the beef hand-pulled noodle bowl, and the fish filet casserole pot. Everything was hearty, flavorful, and felt like the kind of food you'd get at a home-cooked family meal. The hand-pulled noodles were chewy and delicious, and the casserole pot was especially comforting. Unfortunately, I left feeling like the experience simply didn't justify the hype or the price. To start with the positives, the pecan brioche sticky bun was genuinely delicious. At $8 it was hard to justify the price for the size, but the flavor was excellent. The smash potatoes were also very well done, crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the better items we ordered, even if $10 felt steep for the portion. Everything else, however, left us scratching our heads. My in laws ordered the breakfast sandwich, which starts at $17 without the sausage. Adding the sausage brought it to an astonishing $23, and honestly, it was a pretty average breakfast sandwich. We all agreed we could have walked a block over to Devil's Teeth and gotten something larger, more satisfying, and nearly half the price. We also ordered the fried mortadella sandwich, which came in at $18. It tasted fine, but at the end of the day it felt like an expensive deli sandwich that didn't do enough to justify the cost. The biggest disappointment was the Dutch pancake. At $20, we expected something memorable. Instead, it arrived overcooked around the edges while the center was an absolute runny mess. It was easily the weakest dish of the meal. The dining experience itself also felt a bit strange. We were a party of five, and were asked if we'd be willing to share our table in case another group of three came in. I understand restaurants trying to maximize seating, but it made the meal feel less comfortable than we'd hoped. The saving grace of our visit was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. They were the highlight of the experience and made us feel well taken care of despite our disappointment with the food. I can appreciate that Outerlands has built a loyal following over the years, but after this visit I just don't understand the hype. Between the inconsistent execution and the exceptionally high prices, it's difficult for me to justify coming back when there are so many other fantastic brunch spots in the Sunset offering better value.
