A good and reasonably priced Thai option in the Sunset. We ordered the combo appetizer, pork pad se ew, and chicken panang curry with a side of rice. We were surprised that the spring rolls in the combo app were fried, but after deeper look at their menu they have both regular spring rolls - which are fried, and fresh rolls - which are not. I don't usually chose fried spring rolls but these were fine, a little on the small side, which I actually preferred since they were fried this instance. Personal favorites from the combo app were the satay chicken and Thai pumpkin samosa. I like the pad se ew, though it did have a bit of a sweeter taste than most pad se ews I've tried. Panang curry was also pretty good, had a bit more spice than what I usually have but nothing too intense. The service was friendly and quick, food came out fast and water refills were often. We came for dinner on Eater Sunday and were seated right away. The dining room wasn't too big, but it looked like they had additional high top seating further back. This place is a real gem. I am hard to impress and rarely give anyone 5 stars on the first try. Maybe I am hungry today but my take out of pad eggplant with chicken light on the oil was DELICIOUS. Eggplant absorbs a lot of oil but this one was really well done and not oily. Also not salty. I asked for mild and it was exactly right mild I think I am also excited as it's a 7 min walk from the beach chalet soccer field parking lot. Cup of Tom Yum soup 3.5/5: i chose medium spicy for the soup but it just taste a bit spicy. The soup is good. It taste sour and sweet. It would be better if its more spicy. It has a few mushrooms it in and some chicken. The chicken is rough since it's chicken breast. For the flavor, i give it a 4 but $6.5 for a small cup of soup, its a bit pricey. So i give a 3.5 overall. Pad see ew 4/5: The noodles has Wok flavor, which is what makes it good. I chose chicken but i would choose other meat next time since chicken breast has rough texture. The noodles is flavorful and it's not too oily. I have no complaints about it at all. Roasted duck curry 3/5: I'm kind of disappointed at the duck curry since it has a lot of soup but not a lot of meat. I would prefer the more traditional curry which has potatoes in it. The duck is in very small pieces and skin is very fat. The taste is average, not outstanding. I would not recommend this dish. They wrap the soup with plastic wrap so the soup wont spill out, so a thumbs up for it. I think the food is standard, not great but not bad either. Sri Thai is a hidden gem. There's no place better to get the pumpkin curry with chicken. Their version was so much creamier and flavorful compared to versions from more well known places like Marnee Thai. My party was in the area and looking for a place for dinner. Based on posted reviews, I had somewhat high expectations for this neighborhood family owned restaurant. I was very hopeful but as it turned out, our meal was quite average and there was nothing standout about the food. We ordered a few dishes and ate it family style. Our starter was the spring roll with pork, which was quite good--crisp, ungreasy and very fresh, followed by yellow curry with chicken, the roasted duck and a grilled pork dish. Our favorite was the curry and I can honestly say it was the best dish of all the dishes were ordered and quite flavorful and the dish we liked the least was the grilled pork; there was nothing memorable about it. COVID-19 takeout review: My neighborhood Thai spot luckily happens to do Thai food really well! We ordered Pad See-Ew, fresh spring rolls, and the larb salad with shredded chicken. It was more than enough for two people, with leftovers for breakfast the next day. We ordered through Yelp and pick-up was ready in about 30 minutes. They were very respectful of distance and contactless transfer. Tip: we ordered prawns for $1 on the spring rolls. They cut the spring roll in half and had a prawn on the top of each! We had the green curry and the pad kee mao. Though I can't say I was excited by the eggplant in the green curry, the star - the curry itself - was excellent, as was every other component. We had it with plain jasmine rice. And the pad kee mao (also known as "drunken noodle" in some places) was just as delicious. While we (two adults) could probably have eaten the two entrees at the restaurant, we ended up stopping short and - supplemented with an additional jasmine rice to go - had enough left over for lunch the next day. The prices seemed reasonable - very much typical pricing - and we were pleased with the experience. Despite the restaurant being lightly occupied, there was a steady stream of patrons and food delivery drivers passing through to pickup takeout orders. A great Thai spot located a walking distance from the beautiful Ocean Beach in SF! Our party of 4 was seated super quickly for a late lunch on Saturday. It's a super lowkey spot but loved the space on the inside. I got a pad see ew and a Thai ice tea, which was a great meal! The portion sizes were pretty big, which was nice. The Thai tea wasn't overly sweet and tasted really refreshing with the rest of the meal. The fried tofu in the noodles was really tasty and the broccoli was also well seasoned and cooked.
