Came here with a friend to get manicures and use up a gift card. Since they only have one gal who did manicures, she had to do my friend's nails and then mine, which took ~ 1 hr 45 min total (gel manicure). They did offer complimentary tea, but this was just way longer than I would have liked, or I would rather have both of us going at the same time and switching back and forth (some places do this, but I understand if it's too hectic). I noticed some air pockets/bumps which I pointed out, but by the time I noticed, she said she would have to sand down the whole nail and re-do. Since we were already there for a long time, I didn't bother (and I was using a gift card anyways). The cost was higher than other salons I've been to also, at $35 for a gel manicure, so I personally won't be returning based on the cost to quality of my visit. This review is way overdue. Van was my makeup expert on my wedding day in 2012 and all I can say is that I love Van. She is amazing, sweet and down to earth.She has extensive education and training on what beauty is and how beauty is perceived. She is not your typical makeup artist who knows how to apply makeup but she knows the history and psychological effects of makeup and beauty. During my make up trial, I didn't have to tell her much except that I love to wear make up and I love to wear it heavy and she worked her magic! LOL She did an amazing job at the makeup/hair trial and over the top job at the wedding. She made both me and my sister look so unbelievably pretty. Van really listens to what you want and doesn't do anything that makes you uncomfortable. She knows so much about make up /hair and beauty. I made the trek from Everett to Bellevue just for lashes! So it's a small world and turns out Van and I went to the same high school. She was so sweet about me mentioning it and I was worried about sounding like a creep. Pre COVID I was getting lash lifts every 6 weeks, but my old salon closed permanently during the pandemic. My biggest things with selecting a new salon was 1) COVID precautions and of course 2) reviews and technique. I was really happy with the level of care they took during my appointment today, I saw Kylee and I was the only one in the salon during the first morning appointment. I had my temp checked, put the provided robe on over my clothes to protect us both, and kept my mask on the whole time. Kylee also kept her mask on, the table was covered and this was removed after my appointment so they're using new wraps for each table after each appointment which is great. I felt very comfortable with my lash lift during this time, and Kylee was great! I already booked my next appointment, it was quick and easy. Van is incredibly talented and such a fun, awesome person! I initially found Van though yelp reviews and she deserves more than the 5 stars I can give here! She is so personable and not to sound conceited, but I looked and felt beautiful after she did her work on my face/hair! I had Van do a trial, engagement shoot, civil ceremony wedding, and Chinese banquet make up...all 4 times, I looked awesome but still looked like myself...just an enhanced version. After hoooooours with my make up on...I'm talking 10+ hours, I still looked great! Make up intact, hair intact... From my first trial with Van for my wedding hair/make-up I knew I had to book her right away. She really knew how to take my style and opinion and make me look the way I envisioned. Flash forward to my wedding day and I couldn't get enough compliments. Even after hours of dancing and sweating my make-up stayed put. I highly recommend Van for bridal party hair and makeup. First of all, she is incredibly talented and keeps up-to-date with the latest products and techniques. Aside from all the compliments I got on the day-of (which are taken with a grain of salt since everybody always gushes about the bride being beautiful), my MOM gave Van two thumps up. To give you some context, my mom is the most critical (but honest!) person I've ever known. Secondly, she maintains a VERY high standard of professionalism. She promptly returned my emails/ phone calls/ etc., and made sure that I was happy with the end product. Another thing that really impressed me was how she handled the payment on the day-of. I had a spreadsheet to track vendor payments and deposits, and mixed up the amount due to Van with the payment for another vendor. I ended up writing her a check for $200 more than was due to her. After I handed her the payment, she told me that I had overpaid her and gave me an itemized breakdown of her services. I went in to see Van recently for my VERY FIRST set of volume lashes. And I am in love! I can't believe how light they feel and how amazing they look with the added volume! I can't stop looking at my lashes. They are both full and long, but natural. I have been getting A LOT of compliments from my co-workers, patients, and clients on how natural they look. Although it's on the pricier side the lashes are AMAZING and they seem to last longer than other places of gone to. If you're looking for a perfection this is your salon. I got really lucky with Van. I called her frantically about 3 weeks before my wedding and she was able to squeeze in both a trial (on a weekend day) and makeup for me, my sis, and my mom on my wedding day (I had an afternoon wedding, so she showed up at noon, after her morning wedding). She says that people normally book her 18 months out for summer weddings, so get on the horn, ladies! I normally never wear makeup, but read all the mags, so I know what products are out there (even if I don't use them). Van carries the full line for six different foundations, including one for airbrush. That means that she has everything from yellow undertone for Asians, and color with the appropriate undertone for African-Americans too. Awesome. Van is a real professional. On the day of the wedding, Van was 30 minutes early (despite having another engagement elsewhere earlier in the morning). She and her assistant were an oasis of calm. If i needed to get up to do something, I just go up, then sat down again and she resumed working on my face or hair. p.s. -- I do recommend that after the trial, you wear your face for the full day. For example, for me, I realized that powder to touch up was the wrong strategy for me. Once the makeup was set, I just needed to use oil blotting sheets to keep everything matte -- more powder just looked cakey after a while. I told Van on the day of the wedding, and we went powderless. read more

She's very responsive before and after booking. She's flexible with different styles and preferences. Don't be afraid to ask her for things you want or don't want so she can edit her work as she goes along. It's your big day, it's not the time to be shy and Van makes you feel very comfortable. Van really did an amazing job with my bf's makeup. Mine wasn't as great, but it was the bf's day and that's all that really matters. She was able to get picture perfect hair and the makeup looked flawless and lasted the full day. I worked with Van 2 years ago for my rehearsal dinner and wedding day, and 3 weeks ago for my 30th birthday. All for hair and makeup, and in all 3 times, Van has made me look Ah-MAZING. She is completely professional and does beautiful work. For my wedding, she used airbrush foundation and comfortable fake lashes. She gave me a Vanessa-Hudgens-like-long-curls-look for my rehearsal dinner, and a romantic lose curls up-do for my wedding day. I loved both finished products. She and her team came to my hotel and made up me and my 6 bridesmaids, arriving promptly and being efficient. For my 30th birthday, Van did my makeup complete with the fake lashes and a big-curls-side-ponytail look. Again, her work is beautiful. I received complements the whole night. She was the one and only artist I contacted and I am so glad I did! Van is detail oriented and extremely talented It's obvious from the moment she starts working that is she is naturally talented. Hair/make up were flawless and stayed on all day and night with no touch ups needed. She will even give make up tips and advice! Also, she will not be offended at all if you want her to do more or less or do something differently. She is really easy (and fun!) to work with, organized and flexible. She has a calendar on her website so you can see what days she is available months and months in advance. Also, we had to reschedule our shoot at the very last minute due to weather and Van was super cool about it. She doesn't charge a fee for reasonable last minute changes unlike so many other vendors.
