I was excited to enjoy some chicken cheese fries that I haven't had in forever. I was definitely disappointed that the quality had gone down. I order extra chicken and definitely got a normal size portion. When I asked about the extra chicken the staff said that's extra chicken and shrugged their shoulders. I paid an extra $5 dollars for extra chicken for me not to get it. On top of that the chicken was dry and burnt. No sense of customer service and no accountability. If there is a next time I'll definitely won't order extra chicken.

Steak torta was the only good thing here.

Found this place via Yelp. The reviews looked promising so decided to give this place a try. Got their steak torta, bacon cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings and fried zucchini. The only items that were good were the steak torta and fries. (See picture for reference). I'd stay away from the fried zucchini and onion rings. Their batter is very bland and has no flavor whatsoever. The bacon cheeseburger was mid, the bacon was the only thing that saved it.

I always drive by this place and I never stop. So I had some free time today and decided to go. Samantha recommended the chicken sandwich with cheese and avocado. It's was delicious. Samantha was very helpful. I think she needs a raise.

Something you probably don't expect to order from Varsity Burgers is their chicken soup but it is delicious! Flavorful and thick not a watery soup. Nice chicken chunks and so satisfying on a rainy day! This was delivered to my work and it arrived carefully packaged and nice and hot.

I am from out of town and heard charbroil burgers are Great burgers. My goal was to go to Carl's Jr but decided to try Varsity Burgers since their Sign read Charbroil Burgers. I was hungry because I just came from a funeral service. Before I left I spoke with Mr Roque the manager and told him the Hamburger was NOT A Charlbroil Burger, it had no grill lines nor did the Burger have a Charlbroil taste, the fries were over cooked. The meat patty was thinner then a Big Mac burger and they over did it on the thousand island dressing. Needless to say I was not pleased and the Manager did not even offer me a discount, all he said is sorry. Varsity has No business Advertising " Charlbroil Burgers" this business should be reported to the BBB. Customers are not getting what they are paying for.

I used to go here all the time when I lived in the area and now that I'm visiting I'm happy to see the food is still as amazing as it was before. I always get the avocado bacon burger and fries. Still a great price and very filling. Some of the best fries in Anaheim. Girls at the counter were friendly and it's always clean. Will be stopping here every trip I make

Great food, great value, clean establishment. It's Sunday evening and I'm not cooking dinner, so I wanted a quick and satisfying meal to end the weekend. I did a quick tiktok search for burgers in the area and Varsity Burgers came up. My sis in law has frequented this place before, so that was all the recommendations I needed to give In N Out a rest. The place is easy to find and upon pulling up I could tell I wasn't the only one looking for a easy Sunday dinner. There is a drive thru which makes it convenient for on-the-go, but I definitely wanted the full experience. Although it was a packed house, there was plenty of parking as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Walked right in and was greeted at the cashier. The menu is clear to read, simple and to the point. On top of your classic burger joint menu items, they also offered vegetarian options and Mexican food. I opted for a bacon cheeseburger combo with zucchini and a drink. My partner had the same with added avocado and fries. Although busy, we were able go get a booth and within minutes our order was ready. The drinks are self-serve; Pepsi products and iced tea. They also had aguas like Orange Bang and Horchata. There are plenty of extra condiments to satisfy your palate, too, like pico de gallo, yellow chili's, etc. My first bite was the zucchini because that's ultimately what drives me to burger joints like this and I loved the batter to zucchini ratio. It was just to my liking. There was a nice thin layer of crunch and a healthy chunk of zucchini, paired with the ranch to dip and it was the perfect bite. The batter could be better, but this was still very good and satisfying. The burger was so satisfying. Although it was a single patty, the cheese and bacon add a hearty element on top of the tomato, lettuce, onion and pickles. About halfway through, I had to remove the pickles and tomato because I didn't want to have leftover burger (leftover zucchini tastes good in the airfryer). After finishing the burger, I was so stuffed. The food sat well in my stomach, not too heavy or greasy - just right. I'm glad I came here and had such a good experience. I'll keep this place in mind when I'm in the area and craving a classic burger or some good fried zucchini.

Burger was good. Had good flavor. Onion rings. Not that good. Didn't seem crispy. Seemed old. Idk. Wouldn't get them again. I really wanted them too. 15$ for the whole combo. I think 14$ change. Tax. Pretty high. Old good in n out is cheaper and better still.

Food and prices are great, large portions and you can eat a meal for just about $11.00.

Solid service yesterday when I came in for some breakfast items to go. Grabbed two grande burritos and a breakfast sandwich. The burritos are so big! You should a quarter at a time. This morning I chopped up the leftover burrito and reheated it in a pan, it could feed a family, see pics. I usually am with my dog, so I don't come inside that often, but this is really a nice dining room.

New favorite burger is the double bacon cheeseburger! There are so many things I loved about it. The crispy bacon, juicy burger, soft sumptuous bun, abundant pickle chips, oozy cheese, and diced onions. Their fries are served fresh, hit, and perfectly salted. The service is always courteous and friendly. The ambiance is efficient and delicious dinner with condiment bar and clean and bright seating. A neighborhood favorite. read more

I have been coming to this place for grande breakfast burritos for a few years ... they use too much potato in the burritos but still are good .. today I phone ordered on burrito with everything exept cheese ..drive 10 min to work place ., start eating it to find out .. 80% Are potato's the other 20% beans and egg .. nothing else in it ...‍ Beacon ,sausage and ham give the burrito the flavor ... they were missing .... read more

We've been coming to Varsity for years and the food never lets us down. The staff are always friendly and fast. The burgers are good, the salads are huge, and the Mexican food is tasty, but where Varsity truly shines is their breakfast! Their breakfast burrito is insanely good. Their pancakes are fluffy and big. Everything on the breakfast menu is outstanding. read more

I'm on this journey of finding great breakfast burritos. Just came back from this place, picking up breakfast burritos via drive-through. Here are my thoughts: LOCATION - parking is plentiful in the morning. They have a lot of spots so I wonder how it is when it's busy. It's across a high school so there were a LOT of kids getting breakfast before school. FOOD - I got a Breakfast Burrito and Breakfast Burritos Grande. Grande is NO JOKE! Legit grande and I honestly think it could feed breakfast for a small family. Also, don't let it go! It's so stuffed that if you put it down, it will open. I mistakenly forgot to say which meat I want for the regular Breakfast Burrito, so I just had hashbrowns, cheese, and beans. It was lackluster and maybe it was only because of lack of texture from any meat. Also, not too much of a fan of their salsa. It was like salsa/pico de gallo? Didn't give it the kick I wanted. PRICE - For the 2 behemoth breakfast burritos we got, it was under $20, which compared to other places, IS NOT BAD AT ALL. If I were a high school student, I'd be coming here as well. You got a lot of food for a decent price. SERVICE - Lady at the drive through was nice. It did take a while to get my food, but seeing how busy they were with all the students/customers, I understand.It's not like they forgot about me. Overall, it's okay, and that may be my fault because I didn't specify to add meat to my burrito. I'd be willing to come back and try it again, and maybe ask if they have other salsas/hot sauces. read more

Just okay. Not bad. But just okay. I really wanted to be crazy about this place. But I just wasn't. It seemed very mediocre to me. I'll start with the garden veggie burger. This tasted like an imitation veggie burger from Bakers, but not as good. Not nearly as good, if I am keeping it really honest here. The thousand island-like sauce, just tasted like a cross between Baker's and In N Out. But didn't top/or even come close to theirs. The patty of the garden burger was pretty soft and became mushy while trying to eat it. I get that it is a vegetarian burger, but I still want the patty to resemble a patty, not just mush. The blob of mush had a very bland taste too. The only flavor on the burger was the sauce. It was just super underwhelming overall. And the lettuce wasn't very fresh, the veggies were not as fresh as I'd like. It honestly, just made me crave Baker's. I couldn't even get halfway through the garden burger. The cheddar quesadilla was good. It came with two kinds of cheese and was a decent size. But if I'm keeping it real, Albertos has a much better cheese quesadilla. And it's bigger. Size matters here. So, this was a weird stop for me in many ways. Because all the items I tried just reminded me of better foods elsewhere. That is why the 3 stars. It wasn't bad. I didn't know they did breakfast until I looked up breakfast places near me. They have a drive thru which is convenient . You can order your eggs anyway you want which I love because it doesn't have to be your traditional scrambled. I ordered over medium and it was great. Their lumberjack you get 2 pancakes and 2 French toast, their pancakes are large and fluffy and their French toast is thick. They give whipped butter, which I love because you don't have to struggle trying to spread it. It comes with 2 sausages and 2 bacon and you can sub for 4 of the same kind with no additional fee. And the hash browns fill half the box. I'm really impressed with this place and this will be my go to breakfast spot not just out of convenience but also quality. read more

4.5 today.....because no Heinz Ketchup. I hate to say it but when you have excellent food and then you have cheap to go catch up it just ruins it. Other than that, a wonderful time as usual. This is your classic fast food joint. They have plenty of options such as burgers, tacos, burritos, and more. They're very efficient with their drive thru line and the staff is friendly. I've had the tacos and burgers before and I would say they're average. The classic cheeseburger I had recently was lacking flavor. Overall, the food is not good but not bad. Came back and brought my boyfriend to try! Since last year I moved from LA to Anaheim, and I was missing my 24 hr burger joint out there. So when he visited with me, he would eat it with me and really fell in love with it. Fast forward to today, I introduced him here and he got a double bacon cheese burger combo, I got a jr cheeseburger combo, and we got shared zucchini. He agreed that this place has larger burgers and at a better price! Love varsity burger!! read more

We stopped by a couple days ago because my daughter wanted some nachos. We ordered the super carne asada nachos and a side of fries. The fries were very well seasoned. Sadly, I can't say the same for the nachos. They literally tasted like nothing. It reminded me of when I lost taste when I had COVID...The pieces were there but the meat wasn't seasoned at all. I wish I could have rated higher but the nachos just fell very short. But the fries were GREAT! I don't know if we will visit again but they have so many options on the menu, there might be something you like. It's worth a try. read more

So I love me a good breakfast burrito, and the good ones are always hard to find. You gotta go the mom and pop shops for one. So a friend and I went here one morning on a whim and ordered their chorizo breakfast burrito & side of fries, and OH MY GLOB... The burrito came with Rice, Beans (both which I usually have to add on at other places and be charged more for) Chorizo and Eggs wrapped up in this warm tortilla. This burrito was amazing. We also ordered their Cherry Pepsi (I know soda in the AM don't judge us) and let me tell you.. That shit slapped! Shout out to Juan who went out of his way to rewrap my burrito in fresh paper because the first one I messed up. Your friendliness and wonderful customer service has just made me a customer for life. Well that & the food!! :) read more

I like this place even though I didn't care for my grande breakfast burrito. Yes it was big, but that is the only thing good I can say about it. It was 95% potatoes with some ham cubes, sausage bits, flabby bacon pieces, cheese, a little beans, and maybe one egg. Breakfast burritos should be mostly egg imo. It was also bland. But I will be back! The grande breakfast burrito was the most expensive breakfast item at ten bucks so I will be happy to come back and try again. I am adding a full star to this review because the payment system does not automatically ask for a tip. Also the excellent service, uniformed cashiers and cooks, cleanliness, makes me want to come back and try something else from their extensive menu. read more

OK breakfast items, did not come here for burgers which I do regret but it seemed a bit decadent for 7:10AM cheeseburgers. The big reasons we came here were: -Open early, 7 am! Perfect for early risers looking for food to easily feed family. -Drive-through, super convenient for takeout and safer for Covid times. -Pretty large menu at breakfast, at all hours offer cool American and Mexican items. Got the Asada Torta. I loved the fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado. You could tell from the colors they were fresh cut. The asada was grilled and you can taste the flame which was nice but unfortunately it was tough and hard to eat. One bite would pull the whole steak out so no clean bite-through. The BIG note for people is the Breakfast Burrito, by default it ONLY comes with eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, and beans. There is a crazy amount of potato, about 80% of it is Potato. The burgers are good but the signature Ted's burger is pretty great if you're hungry: double patties, double cheese, bacon, and avocado. The onion rings are outstanding and you get quite a few, They used to have an amazing pastrami burrito, but it is no more. Regular burritos are still pretty tasty, though. Why don't I go here all the time? No brewed iced tea. They used to have it but switched to fountain, so now I just swing by every once in awhile.

It was fresh, hot, and hit the spot. Because of the convenience of location and the quality of food, I would certainly recommend visiting again. I'd probably just call ahead and order next time to shorten my wait and avoid waiting in the heat.

I've always came here since I was a kid. Either for the breakfast burrito or the chili cheese fries. Most the time they're pretty decent. But this time I don't know what was going on but the fries tasted old & stale. No crunch on the outside but soft center. Garbage fries.. this happens a little too often with the chili cheese fries. Truthfully might have to just go back to Paul's place. They have the same order but cheaper and a larger quantity. Plus the quality is there as well. Something Varsity has lacked for a while now. Besides the food; the customer service is about a D-, the employees aren't welcoming, don't speak up, and take forever to help you in the first place. The inside is usually dirty too. I've stopped at this Varsity Burger in Anaheim a few times, and the food consistently tastes fresh and yummy. The prices also are very reasonable, and the restaurant itself seems very clean and well maintained by the staff, who are very nice. I definitely recommend the turkey burgers and the breakfast burritos. If you can avoid the lunch hour rush, do so. Otherwise, just be patient and prepared to wait. read more
