So I love me a good breakfast burrito, and the good ones are always hard to find. You gotta go the mom and pop shops for one. So a friend and I went here one morning on a whim and ordered their chorizo breakfast burrito & side of fries, and OH MY GLOB... The burrito came with Rice, Beans (both which I usually have to add on at other places and be charged more for) Chorizo and Eggs wrapped up in this warm tortilla. This burrito was amazing. We also ordered their Cherry Pepsi (I know soda in the AM don't judge us) and let me tell you.. That shit slapped! Shout out to Juan who went out of his way to rewrap my burrito in fresh paper because the first one I messed up. Your friendliness and wonderful customer service has just made me a customer for life. What a local gem. Once in a while, I would stop by this place for some good quality fast food. I recommend getting their burgers or breakfast burritos. I truly think that they have one of the best breakfast burritos in Orange County. I like to get Breakfast Burrito Grande which comes with eggs, hashbrowns, beans, cheese, bacon, sausage, and ham. The burrito has a nice ratio between meats and toppings which makes each bite very satisfying. It is also served all day. Classic local fast food joint! There's lot of options for everyone you're with! This place holds a lot of nostalgia for the community but the food never really misses. Their portions are large (even the kids meals), the food comes out fast and hot, and the flavor is spot on. Our favorites are the Grilled Chicken Salad (I sub for romaine since they traditionally use iceberg, and it comes with pita), any of the burgers, and their teriyaki (although not a traditional recipe it's delicious). Everyone that works here is super nice and move quickly. If you want an even faster experience just head through the drive through. The restaurant has lots of tables to sit at both inside and outside. It can get pretty busy but there's usually somewhere to sit. Thank You Varsity Burger for redeeming yourself . I go to VB quite often. This past couple weeks I have had pastrami cheese fries, which were the bomb!!!!! So yummy!!!! The pastrami was very tasty, a little salty, not real fatty at all but honestly it was delicious. I know we humans should not consume pastrami but now and than it's ok right and add pastrami to the fries and cheese well even less healthy but again every now and than, it's okay. Let me tell you too, it was so tasty and the portion was perfection and definitely enough to share. I was quite pleased because the last few times we purchased, it was not this delicious. Was it an off day, the cook, the products, who knows but thank you VB you did good. I appreciate it and we were all very happy. Also, grilled chicken salad was ordered and consumed about 4 times in the past week and a half. Its been way to hot to cook and this hit the spot. The tip or my tip is to ask for your chicken to not be cut and to be left whole, especially if you order it to go. I like to take my salad home and transfer it to a big bowl. I prefer to toss my salad, maybe add more veggies as this salad only comes with lettuce, few green bell pepper slices, 4 halved tomatoes, avocado, warm grilled chicken and croutons. I can cut my chicken into the size I want it and cut my tomatoes in halves too. I like their ranch and blue cheese dressings too. This salad is tasty its the chicken that makes it too. Some greens and protein for the win. Again VB you redeemed yourself and I'm a big fan. This was such a delicious salad and a good amount. I also ordered the cobb salad but replaced the turkey with grilled chicken. The cobb comes with bacon, sliced avocados and eggs too. Was so tasty and such a good amount. I am a happy VB fan again. I was disappointed in some of my orders over the past month. However, very happy, and pleased with some of my other orders. I rarely yelp but I did and I just want to say overall Varsity Burger is a hit. Try them. They have a menu with a variety of items. A kids menu too. Og I forgot we ordered 4 shakes this week. I honestly have never had their shakes. I did not take any pictures. Oh Wow they were good and the price was too. The have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and banana. We had one strawberry, a chicolate/strawberry combo, chocolate/banana combo and one neapolitan combo (vanilla/stawberry/chocolate), all four were 5 stars. Every first Sunday of the month. My girlfriend and I are usually in the area for Japanese classic cars and coffee. When we were in the area last time, we wanted to get breakfast at a local gem. We came across Varsity Burger and we decided to check it out! Personally, I love the small mom & pop American dining style and this place was perfect for it. Everything on the menu sounded very good. It took us awhile before deciding on what to order. These are what we ordered. Breakfast Burrito Grande - It sure is grande like its name. It was big enough for me to split this into 2 meals. The tortilla was wrapped tightly. The ratio between meat, egg, cheese, and potato was perfect and it was evenly spread out. You won't find yourself eating just pure potato toward the end of this one. This was the perfect breakfast burrito for me. Chorizo Burrito - this one was also big. The chorizo has a good flavor with a nice kick of spice. The orange rice was well-seasoned. The chorizo burrito was good for any meal of the day in my opinion. Everything was really good and we will be back here to get breakfast every time we are here for the cars and coffee. read more

Walked in with my mother to the counter where no other customers were present or waiting for anything - completely empty and yet he chose to ignore us after we greeted. Full on ignorance for about a minute before an employee had to run from whatever task she had been doing to run to the front to greet me - and the entire time the manger has not once acknowledged the guests / greeted the guests / let me know right away the service I'm assuming is regular here. read more

I had a grilled cheese with fries. The grilled cheese was as good as I expected but the fries were fantastic. Golden brown and crunchy. None were under cooked or burned. The problem was the cleanliness of the dinning room. They wiped the tables down often. But the floor could have really used occasional mopping. It had a lot of dirt and sticky spots from spilled drinks & ketchup. I just know a lot of diners constantly close a few booths and mop around them to keep the floor looking good. Home to the Grande Breakfast Burrito and Monster-Size Pastrami sandwich! Just scroll through these food pictures and you will be amazed! I drove by Varsity Burger many times and I've never had the chance to really go in and try the food for myself. During the evening hours, I would see long line of cars waiting for Drive Thru orders. Something must really be good here and there was. Varsity Burger is located on Lincoln Ave, very close to Ruby's Diner and a few other restaurants in the area. There is some parking, but watch out for the dinner rush line of cars for drive thru. It might deter you, but the food is definitely worth the wait. First time trying their Grande Breakfast Burrito and Pastrami Sandwich and I am hooked. I can't believe the portion size! A definitely worth it price and quantity. I would probably omit the beans next time. Overall it was a good meal. The burrito and sandwich can be 2 meals. Half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Highly recommend the Pastrami Sandwich for sure! So much meat and very little bun (carbs). That's my kind of sandwich! First off let me address the chicken tenders because WHAT... When i opened the box i GASPED. Why? Because 1. there is no way i paid $7+ for 4 chicken tenders and 2. i mean LOOK AT THEM i have absolutely no words but this picture can speak for itself. 3. they were insanely rubbery and dry. Varsity has stood the test of time in books I've been going here for 2 decades easily one of the best hole-in-the walls around. Like I've told my friends this is an institution and I'm happy they all enjoy coming here. My go to is easily a burger either a bacon cheeseburger or a juicy turkey burger with pineapple. The fries are abundant and seasoned perfectly paired with an awesome ranch dip and the onion rings are gigantic and flavorful. Even with all that food because the burgers are more than a mouthgasm full of deliciousness I still manage to have to order two tacos whether it's due my next meal or with a burger it's just a must. Do me a favor and head over to the pictures ive attached. Does that spoon size portion of slop they call chili look like something you'd pay $8 for. Go into your pantry, everybody has that can of chili beans in the back they haven't eaten yet. Throw that on the stovetop and I PROMISE you that it's 10x tastier than whatever slop Varsity burger just fed me. And the vanilla shake. I should have gone into my freezer, got 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and put it in a cup, cause that's what this bland pile at Varsity tastes like. They use no vanilla shake mix, no flavoring, NOTHING. It's just two scoops of ice cream in a VERY small cup, about half the size of a tv controller and it's $4. Now. Usually I would say don't take my word for it, try for yourself! But for the love of God don't buy the chili burger or milk shakes from them. Service was terrible. Asked for the cashier Evelyn who took my daughters order and didn't allow her to purchase a drink with her asada fries. So she made her get a combo just to get a drink on top of the asada fries. I went in to ask for Evelyn who's name is on the receipt clearly. The bun lightly toasted, cheese melty and meat moist once I bit into that burger. And never have I ever cared for when people say they don't skimp on veggies. I'm a carnivore. But damn they do not skimp out on veggies here, they were piled high and fresh making great contrast with the warm cheeses goodness. Then can the zucchini, jeez my faatarse was happy. They literally cut one zucchini in half and you'd think they be cheap with it. Nope not here. I counted a minimum of 16 pieces that would equal about 8 zucchini (even I couldn't finish that in one sitting). Made it into 3 meals actually. Quantity and quality don't usually go along so I was surprised when the zucchini crust offered a great crunch and delicious bite even after being dipped in my ranch/ketchup concoction. I was craving for a pastrami sandwich and this place did not disappoint! Its not as great as a pastrami you would get at a deli but it sure did hit the spot. This was massively delicious. Massive breakfast burritos and tortas, they have drive through which is really convenient and it's right across the street from Anaheim high school. The torta with carne asada I was surprised to get so early in the morning, cooked on a flaming grill so you taste fire on the meat, pretty tasty. I think I said something wrong, my breakfast burrito had no meat. It was still good but next time I would have asked for the one with bacon or ham. We had Varsity Burger for our Christmas luncheon at work today. They always have such a great menu to select from. Dropped off our order and picked it up. Each persons meal was bagged separately and labeled. That made it so easy to serve! They're always so accommodating. The manager there cares a lot about his employees and customers, which is really nice to see. Food was delicious.. from burgers n fries to great salads. The portions are HUGE!
