I only went in to get a soda, but have eaten pizza from here previously. It's good pizza and that staff is real nice, it's not close to where I work, but in another area that's about 1 mile away from the VA (close to our HR Dept). I ordered lunch from here during work. My lunch is an hour long, I order 45 minutes before my lunch. I called several times and was told the delivery man had my wrong number. My phone number was never asked for. I work in a medical facility and there is many staff. My lunch has been over for half an hour now and still have not received my food. My boyfriend and I ordered some appetizers, two dinners - lasagna and a cheeseburger with fries. We sat and ate and after a hour of trying to digest we both got wicked bad stomach aches to the point we had to run to the bathroom. My burger was wrapped in Tin Foil separately from the fries (which were cold) in a to go box. The burger tasted like a Whopper from Burger King. Actually tasted so much alike that for a few minutes I thought they bought me a Whopper and wrapped it in the Tin Foil. I had an interesting dream last night that inspired me to write this review. I ordered from some fantasy dreamworld diner, presumably in Providence, a sandwich which although had a lot of normal sandwich ingredients (cheese, some types of deli meat, tomatoes, etc..) also intentionally contained bugs. It was hard to tell what type of bugs they were exactly, but a medium sized juicy type of bug. Apparently I was feeling adventurous that day! And apparently at least when it was freshly made it wasn't half bad, because in the dream I took the second half from the fridge to finish eating. This is when I started having problems... The first bite was revolting and with a pair of tweezers I began carefully removing the bugs from the sandwich and tossing them into the sink. Feeling as though this had made things better I once again began eating the sandwich, but the lingering bug flavor, the mental imagery of the bugs in the sink, and the craters their absence left behind within the sandwich wouldn't allow me to eat it and this gave me feelings of guilt. I should finish this sandwich, I thought to myself, I paid for it, I should eat it. And yet an alternative idea had popped into my brain, one I really was having a hard time ignoring... My tune started to change. Who cares if I paid for it, why would I finish this cold bug sandwich that I no longer enjoyed when there were other options? Chief among them in my mind, to order a pepperoni pizza from Vasilio's. I glanced at the clock and it was 3:30 AM. Not only a viable time to order a pizza from Vasilio's, but I'd argue its the best time. So I ordered within my dream, via the home landline, a Vasilio's pepperoni pizza. Unfortunately it all gets blurry after that so I'm not sure if it arrived or not, but I do recall placing the order. The point is that the dream me, under duress, faced with the difficult choice of frugality or enjoyment, chose enjoyment, and enjoyment in my dream came in the form of Vasilio's pizza. I know a lot of people in this town who have no respect for Vasilio's, even some people who are wildly opposed to it, and this I do not understand. Although I wouldn't put Vasilio's in the category of "good pizza", I would put it in the category of "pizza that can be very satisfying under the right circumstances", and I believe that to be an important category in the overall pizza scale. Vasilio's pizza is best eaten immediately and under the cover of night. If there are leftovers, although tempting, it's best to discard them as this is not a food that keeps well or is suited for daytime consumption. This pizza has a very specific agenda which is what leads to it being so misunderstood, people have a problem with its lack of adaptability...part of me understands that, but mostly I feel like they should accept it for what it is. It's not trying to be anything special, it's here to serve one purpose and that purpose doesn't call for especially high standards in quality, and I think thats totally ok. read more

I've been in this business for over 20 years. Pizza is okay at best, the best aspect is their hours. The reason for the one star is their management practices. I live behind their operation and have been almost runover by their delivery drivers. I privately tried to tell the owner about the speeding and he called me out in front of the staff. I respect the hard work it takes to make it in this line of work, but pointing the finger at the customer for trying to help him is amatuer. On multiple occasions I've seen his driver's speeding and blowing through stop signs and the price rite parking lot with no regard to patrons. I decided to walk and grab my pizza tonight and let ample time go by. When I showed up they had no record of my order even though I phoned it in. Im not a fan of Yelp due to most people not knowing this line of work but Vasillos needs a revamp. We ordered from this place quite a few times and the order is never right! I work in customer service and I know there are people who are absolutely unreasonable. I tried to be understanding. We ordered at 645, 8 piece wing dinner and an additional 8 piece wings for a total of $27. Only the 8 piece dinner arrived an hour later. I called them right away and told them we are missing 8 wings. They said, since we are in Cranston it will take a while to arrive. An hour later, no call and no follow up, we called them asking about our order.. they offered a partial store credit. We wanted our food so we said no to that and ask for a status on our order only to be hung up on. Every time we called after that they answered only to put us on hold or on mute. I work nights so when I get out most things are closed. Having a place right down the street that is open until 4am is ideal. I ordered from vasillios so much in the past that they actually sent me a Christmas card. The last 9 months or so the closing staff has been nothing short of horrible. Sometimes I call around 3:30 and they answer and say we are closed and hang up. Other times I call and they tell me they are out of whatever I want or not making it anymore. Tonight though pissed me the f*** off. I called and asked for delivery. The kid working in the most sarcastic tone replied "oh cuz it's not late or anything". I said aren't you open until 4? I then said it is 3:35 to which he replied... might as well be 3:40. I replied it's cool I won't be ordering from here anymore. Btw I was calling for beverages and dessert. Decided to try this place as I was looking for a decent sandwich delivery. I decided on what they call an Italian panini and some flavorless onion rings. What they called an Italian panini was a salami and cheese sandwich on lightly toasted white bread. Their "hots" were a couple of banana peppers hapharzardly thrown in the sandwich. The onion rings had so much thick breading and little to no onion flavor to them that it is a joke to call them onion rings. There are only a couple positive things to say about this place: 1. They deliver until 4 in the morning (which although I didn't need it this time is a nice feature). 2. They were exactly on time. They said they would arrive at 6:21 PM and at 6:20 they were at my door. So to sum it all up, I probably will not be ordering from this place again unless I am drunk at 2 in the morning and am craving pizza. read more
