    E13. VG Garlic Fish slice

I've been hearing rave reviews about this place from friends and family in the area and it does not disappoint! The food isn't an exact one-to-one match for what it's mimicking, but the flavor is so good and you feel even better after eating it. I loved the gobi manchurian the most. It was crunchy with a great meaty texture. The fish was a bit tougher than regular fish, but the flavor was spot on and I didn't mind the extra texture. The space is small and filled up quickly during dinner, but the service was super friendly and fast. Our waitress was happy to show us what the dishes looked like and explain what they tasted like, which was really helpful. I'll definitely be back to try more of their mock meats and dishes.

Flavor is on point. One of my favorite vegan restaurants in the area. Family run, authentic. Simple but clean ambiance.

Everything is 100% vegan. The ribs were my favorite among the other delights like kimchi fried rice w/brown rice (optional), homemade pot stickers and garlic spinach. However a bold black pepper Chicken chow mein is not to be passed over. The noodles are thick and slightly firm. Lavender tea was very nice. Prices were average. The dishes are served family style with decent portions. We ordered a lot of food and had to pack some to take home. Service was awesome. The meal is always better when the conversation is going and lots of smiles are exchanged. Our server Yen is a beautiful and most kind and friendly young lady. We will be back!

As a Mountain View resident, I've been here a few times over the years, mostly doing picking rather than dine in. In terms of the dine in area, it's in a limited space but one should always be able to find a table. It's family owned and they're extremely friendly and will definitely give you the best recommendations! I mostly come here when I have company in the form of friends who are vegetarians/vegans and want to eat Asian food or on days I want to cut down on my meat intake. Few dishes I've frequented 1. Black Pepper Chicken Chowmein - This is their highlight hands down. Flavor is spot on without being over the top on black pepper, good portion of soy based vegan chicken, and also adjustable oil based on request. N 2. Mapo Tofu - I would get this spicy to get a Mapo Tofu with a kick and ask them to not add much sweetish flavor to this dish, because if you get it towards the milder side, you'll get a sweetish taste. But you know, the portion size is crazy and there it is not too high on oil either. 3. Wonton in Chili Oil - This has a peanut based flavor/sauce and is on the sweeter side, but I do love the peanut based flavor. It mostly contains veggies like cabbage and carrots inside. Good dish, again good portion size. Over the years, I have tried other dishes like the Hunan Tofu/Vegan chicken, the Mongolian Vegan Chicken, the tofu fries, salt and pepper tofu with most dishes being food. And oh yea, the Thai curries are pretty decent too. The weekday lunch combos are good value for money. The garlicky noodle was a bit low on flavor/bland for me. I wasn't super fond of the Singapore style rice noodle too, but that might just be due to my preferences of liking thick noodles and not rice noodles. Very consistent food and a 4 or 4.5 most times though. Parking available outside at all times in the small complex.

As a vegetarian, I always appreciate these vegan/vegetarian restaurants - the food options are endless! We arrived around 40 minutes before closing and had 10 minutes to quickly decide what we wanted before the kitchen closed. We ended up getting the Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein, the Mo Po tofu, and a side of rice. Mo Po tofu (3.5/5): This was my first time having Mo Po tofu and it was alright. thought it could have been more flavorful. We added some chili oil and that helped a little. I wish the rice came with the dish but this is common in many restaurants. Black Pepper Chicken Chow Mein (4/5): Good flavors! The vegetables were cooked really well and I liked the black pepper. I personally liked this dish over the Mo Po tofu. We asked for it to be spicy but we didn't taste any heat. Overall, the food could be spicier, but otherwise the flavors were well-balanced and service was excellent. Good local business to check out!

INSANELY GOOD. I brought my dad who is not a vegan here for lunch, and even he was impressed with the food. I ordered the black pepper chicken chow mein based on our server's recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious. Decently sized portion, and it came full of vegetables and vegan chicken, unlike some places where they give like 90% noodles. My dad enjoyed the moo shu vegetables. The servers were quick and friendly, and the food came extremely fast, probably within 10 minutes of ordering. They have a pretty extensive menu, and everything the people around us were eating looked delicious too. I will probably be back here very very often to work through the rest of the menu!

We chanced upon this place and were greatly impressed. First, so happy to see the food came out so quickly even though the restaurant was so full. So many options to choose from! Black pepper chicken chow mein- the best of all the items we ordered. Noodles were perfectly soft, the black pepper added a nice twist. Orange chicken - kids wanted this, not very impressed, but the plate was empty, very quickly. I liked it that it is not like the usual too sweet orange chicken, it was mildly sweet. The veggie chicken did end up a little chewy. Ma Po Tofu - husband is a huge fan of this dish in general. It was good but we have had better ones before. Garlic Eggplant - was listed as spicy in the menu. It was sweet. A little disappointed. Wonton soup - all of us loved it! It is a very basic, not a lot of flavors, but that was enough Pineapple fried rice - it was good but it was a little on the mushy side. Overall, we enjoyed the food!

I rarely go to a restaurant twice within a few months as we are spoilt for choices in the bayarea. But I had a hankering for the black pepper chowmein, so we made our way back here. In addition to the chowmein I also wanted to try some eggplant dish and we were suggested to get the basil eggplant. So here is the rundown of the dishes we tried this time- Black pepper chowmein- 5/5- I came back here just for this dish. It's really good. Definitely get this!!! Basil eggplant-5/5- another epic dish. Definitely ranks high on the best eggplant dishes I ever had. Not spicy but very savory without any sweet notes. It came with tofu as well which was equally delectable. Veggie fried rice- 4/5- delicious but very oily. There was no need for so much oil in this dish. Hopefully they take this feedback and work on improving it. Organic chicken salad- 4/5- my younger one wanted this. It came with a bunch of greens topped with lots of crispy wonton skins, fried "chicken" pieces and some dressing on the side. It was surprisingly good as the elements worked together cohesively. Vegetarian wonton with chilli oil- 4/5- another solid dish, the wontons were topped with some peanut sauce. It was a tad bit sweet, though I don't prefer sweetness in my savory dishes this was great as well. It's a very cosy little mom and pop style restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. I can assure you, you won't miss meat.

Can't believe it took so long for me to try this place! It's right next to the vet I go to and I've had Veggie Garden bookmarked for awhile. Came by to pick up to go for lunch while visiting the vet. Lunch prices are reasonable and I thought portion sizes were good. The garlic eggplant lunch was enough for lunch and dinner for one person. They take Apple Pay and you can sub out rice for double chow mein :) Hope to be back!

This food is incredible!!! Such a wide selection of dishes and each one I have tried is delicious. The food is ready very quickly as well. I definitely recommend this place! I have brought 3 meat eaters and they really enjoyed it also.

Kimchee fried rice made with brown rice.
    Lucy L.

5 stars for offering a wide variety of vegan dishes, 4 stars for the flavorful but thick gravy in each dish, which would be even better if they lighten it up a bit. Conductive to sharing family style so you can try everything. I appreciate that the staff asked us whether anyone had any food allergies. Check out their specials written on the wall near the kitchen. Both white & brown rice are offered and you can even choose which rice you want your fried rice to be made with. We had: Kimchee fried rice Vegan Duck (my favorite) Vegan fried fish in lemon sauce Vegan beef & broccoli Garlic eggplant Choy sum & black mushrooms Vegan ribs with bell peppers This place is located in a small strip mall and has its own parking lot which is convenient. Prices are reasonable and portions are decent.

Reservation was easy to make over the phone and you have to preorder duck ahead of time. We also got pan fried buns, bok choy, and mandarin fish. Dishes are expensive but good quality. I read mixed reviews about the duck but I thought it was great - crispy skin and relatively tender/juicy meat. It is the first time I've seen an extra charge for the duck pancake wrappers; it was not a pleasant surprise but at least they were thin and delicious. We opted to have a soup made from the leftover duck and that was delicious. Service was also pretty good; they even packaged the leftovers for us. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as good overall as the Belmont spot. The space itself is older, and the seating feels pretty tight and not as comfortable. As for the food, we ordered the Peking duck, which came with a lot of meat, but the duck itself didn't taste fresh at all. It had that distinct, stale "old meat" taste to it, and the texture was completely off and mushy rather than having a nice, fresh bite. The xiao long bao missed the mark too--the wrappers were too thick and the filling wasn't nearly as savory or delicious as what we're used to. Even the basic steamed rice tasted like a cheaper, lower-quality grain. For the other dishes, the stir-fried scallion lamb was way too salty, even though we specifically asked them to go light on the salt, and it lacked that deep umami flavor they get so right at the other location. On the bright side, the Treasure's signature beef honeycomb tripe was actually really good, though the spice level is definitely on the higher side so beware if you're sensitive to heat. For dessert, I finished with the sesame glutinous rice balls in sweet rice wine because it's one of my absolute favorites, but it fell short since there was barely any wine or osmanthus flavor. The service was also pretty lacking throughout the night. They didn't even bother to clear our dirty dinner plates off the tight table after we ordered our dessert, so everything was incredibly cramped. They also completely ignored the rest of our Peking duck instead of proactively asking what we wanted to do with the carcass bones and the remaining meat. We had to specifically flag them down ourselves to ask about it and explain what we wanted done with it, which should really be standard practice for a proper duck service. Compared to the sister restaurant, the execution, environment, and service here just aren't quite there yet.

The service here is too slow. We got the string beans, kale, both are tasteless and small portion. Never had I feel like it does not taste like anything. The XLB supposedly their speciality', is overrated. Is really nothing special. The worst dish is the hot and sour soup, is not authentic is spicy not sour. I won't be back
