I stopped going to Venus nail salon after I had my gel nails removed. My regular nail tech was suddenly unavailable for two of my scheduled appointments, a month apart. When I took pictures in to the other ladies to show them what I wanted, the work was nothing like what I had asked for. The prices went up and they stopped honoring the rewards card. NOT COOL! I've been coming here for years so I'm really unhappy. The lady took my card which had like 7 stars and just threw it away. If you got 10 stamps then you used to get $30 off a service. When I used my last rewards card, they ONLY gave me $20 off a service. I called to make an appointment for today at 11:15, and right away I got sat at the nail station. I came in here for a dip removal and a new dip set on my real nails. Total was $40 + $10 tip because Heidi did a great job! Removal was painless and it was fast. Since I came in the morning, it was a little busy but I got in and out of there within an hour. I got the dip color in #3 i believe, from the pink book. Such a cute baby pink color. It was also my first time here and I would definitely come back again! Long overdue review. This has been my go-to salon since 2020. The one time I strayed from here (was by the mall and went to one nearby in desperation) I regretted it. I get gel manis here and they always last 3-4 weeks, sometimes even longer. I've seen multiple nail techs here but recently have been seeing just Lee/Li. Friendly staff here. I have worked with LY, Kathy, Heidi and Tracy who worked my nails before. They do get busy on weekend, so I usually go on weekdays after 5 pm. They're so funny and sweet :) I recently discovered dipping (late to the game, I know) but I scheduled an appointment with Tracy and she did an amazing job! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it. It turned out so beautifully and I love how it turned out. Had my pedicure done by Ly today. Today was my last visit I've been coming here for years and have been seeing Kathy for at least 5 years. IF ANYONE HAS KATHYS NUMBER, CAN YOU PRETTY PLEASE MESSAGE IT TO ME?? I called to make an appointment earlier this week and was told Kathy no longer works there. I made appointments today for a manicure and a pedicure. I usually get one of the more expensive pedicures, but wasn't asked this time until she had already painted my nails. I always get the callus treatment, but it was too late at that point, so I opted for the basic. The basic comes with a 5 minute hot stone massage....I don't think I even got 3 minutes. Nails were uneven....really uneven, and paint on the cuticles. Nails are fine... And both of the ladies that did my nails and toes were nice. No issues except for the toes, but no one will compare to the work Kathy did for me. The new owner has increased prices twice since taking over. I get it, inflation, but no warning either time. I will gladly pay an increase, but not for inconsistent services and poor quality products. The quality of the newer polishes in the books aren't as good as the older polishes they carry, and be prepared to wait, even if you have an appointment. I've seen people wait reallllllly long, or people show up for their appointments and be turned away. The real bummer, I asked for Kathy's number because I owed her a tip from two weeks ago. They would not give it to me, said they didn't have it. I said she was your employee, and you didn't have her phone number? Mumbled something I couldn't hear, and I stated how disappointed I was seeing I'd been seeing Kathy since before she took over as owner (years). The location is super convenient to me so that will hurt, but it was even worse not having Kathy there to do the AMAZING job she always did. I will no longer recommend this nail salon the many family members and friends I've referred over the years. One of the worst professional manicures I've ever received. Saw the 5 star reviews on Yelp and I can't say how much I feel like the Yelp community has failed me today. Came in with an appointment to remove my acrylic nails and get a gel manicure. Let's start with the acrylic removal. My nail beds grew out quite a bit and I was excited to come in and keep my natural length. As soon as I sat down I wasn't asked if I wanted my nails long or short... the nail tech automatically just chopped off the acrylics with my natural nail right down to my skin. Then thinking they were going to use the soak off method, he just immediately starts ripping the acrylic off from my nail beds. It was the quicker method don't get me wrong but it effing hurt! The girl behind me was getting the less abrasive, soak off method.. why wasn't I given that courtesy? I was also still charged for the soak off method.. not cool. Then on to the manicure - the pictures speak for themselves. My nail tech didn't ask me what shape I wanted nor did they even care to check that the nail lengths were even. The gel polish application was so messy, literally it looks like I did my nails myself. I tried telling my nail tech my issues and it just seemed like it got worse and worse. ITS ONLY BEEN AN HOUR AND THE GEL IS PEELING ALREADY. Total time spent in the salon: 35 minutes. Cost: $30. You be the judge if you think this is what a quality spa gel manicure is. I am by no means the argumentative type. I still gave the nail tech a 20% tip because this is how they make a living and I left without causing a scene. However, I absolutely left disappointed because I was expecting a lot better quality in service. Based on my experience I really can't say I'd recommend coming here.. if you do come, be warned... if they put you with the man, politely ask to be helped by someone else. read more

This was my second time at this nail salon and I was satisfied with both visits! My very first visit, I came in for a refill plus I had the 20% for new customers. So, it was very affordable! I made an appointment on a Saturday for 11:30 AM. I was seated right away and was worked on immediately. Wont be returning after always coming here in the past years. (Every time I would come in Tracey would always help me out, she knows I never talk much or look at my nails. She would always have the fingers at eye level to have me take a look to make sure everything is good. ) Today I came in around 12 and was assisted by two ladies I have never seen, one did my toes while the other at number 3 did my nails. The lady who did my toes forgot to scrub my feet, I let her know she forgot to scrub my feet. She didn't said much but I told her it's fine even though it wasn't but I'm not the type of person to speak up because I always feel like I would make that person's day feel bad or I would get yelled at. While I was getting my nails done I showed the technician how I wanted my nails. From other mail places I recently been too they had always told me to wait until the end because that's when the nails would look better and if I don't like it than to let them know so they can fix it, cause I had told technicians in the process of them doing my nails I don't like how it looks or to fix something, they would stare at me angry and would continue the nail, slap my fingers, or they would say oh and start talking to their friends while being extremely aggressive to my hands. I did noticed how the nails were not looking right so I just kept telling myself just wait until the end. The end comes and I washed my hands, and I realized they do not look like the picture. My anxiety was acting up today and I did not know how to say I don't like my nails or I was not wanting a loud reaction. So at the payment I quietly said I'm sorry but I honestly don't like how the left hand looks, it looks a bit of a mess. The woman who did my nails said this out loud where everyone in the salon looked and stared at us! "WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME! HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW! UGH NEXT TIME YOU NEED TO TELL ME! WE CAN FIX IT NOW!" I told her I'm sorry but I don't have time to fix it... she said "WELL YOU NEVER TOLD ME SO YOU NEED TO SAY SOMETHING NEXT TIME OKAY!" And than I told her the reason why I never speak up. She than quietly said oh.... I'm sorry. I was starting to shake and my voice was already getting raspy. She gave me $5 off for the nails also $5 off for the toes since they were not scrubbed at all. I paid for my stuff and kept my head down while walking out. I noticed the customer sitting down waiting for their turn was staring at me and I was already embarrassed. I quickly got in my car and texted my bf now my anxiety is acting up and how I got yelled at and had the technicians was getting upset and loud with me. I started crying while I'm the car and driving home. Also to the owner who I know will respond back to this Yelp. -I do not have time this week, I will be working during the times y'all are open -Next week I will be out of town - I will not be coming back here anymore not after the interaction with that lady. Especially after getting disrespected, having an employee getting loud with me, and having everyone in the salon stare at me. I loved the service at Venus Salon. Now, I have had my share of salons that were highly rated on Yelp, but when I went in, I left utterly disappointed. My nails can either come out bumpy or misshapen. But fortunately, they were everything I had hoped for. Upon arrival, you check in at the front desk and take a seat on the couch should you arrive before your appointment. Then, you are given a cold bottle of water. I like how they give you ample time to choose your color, and don't give you attitude when you change your mind about the color. My nails came out close to perfect this time, with the exception of my index finger, where the shaping was a tad off center. Sometimes when I leave the salon, I have to convince myself that I like them :|. This time, I really did love my nails so much. I got a color that I don't normally choose (a sheer pink- I usually am a dark color kinda gal). I was initially worried that it was going to be too sheer, but they ended up a beautiful sheer pink. It also resulted in a happy accident; the part that is attached to my nail is more pink and as the nail extends, it became a more white-washed hue. My only complaint is that the tech was not very conversational. Maybe it was a long day or it was an off day for her. Whatever the case, it isn't that big of a deal as my nails made up for it. Tracy is amazing! I came in last Monday with an appointment but after showing her what I wanted for my nails, she asked me to reschedule so she'll have more time. She's a busy woman and gets booked quite a lot, but for good reason! Her work is fantastic and my nails came out just how I wanted them! I got a small discount for my birthday too and was just so happy I came back to her. Highly recommend! I suggest booking an appointment as they can get quite busy and there's usually only 2-3 of them working. Literally the only nail salon I go to. It costs me about $75 for a regular gel manicure & pedicure but the outcome is always AMAZING! I've gotten my nails done by Tina & Amy soooo many times & they both do a great job. They pay close attention to detail & make sure you're comfortable in the process. They try their best to make sure you're in & out of there without making you feel like your services are being rushed. I honestly don't understand all the low ratings for this place. I've been to many other places for around the same price and this place beats it all. They are friendly people who provide great work. For the price you pay, it's worth it. The manicurists know what they are doing. If you are on here looking through reviews, you must know that the service isn't quick and when you make an appointment sometimes you need to wait. It's better for the nail technician to take their time because it means they are focusing on making your nails perfect. I've came here for the past year and every time I come, they have never disappointed me. So ladies if you are in a rush, just plan accordingly because this place won't disappoint.
