Excellent pizza. The best and most authentic in all of Baltimore. We travel 30 min there just to get it. Downside is it's very expensive. They're personal pizzas so a family of four needs to spend $100 for a pizza night (even without sodas, tip, salads - just for pizza). I wish they had a four pizza family special. Worth every penny. I had Verde for the first time a few weeks before quarantine, but continue to order delivery from them, due to the pandemic. The brick oven pizza is incredible - best pizza in Baltimore in my opinion. The standouts are the Porchetta with Honey, the Pistacchio e Salsiccia, and my personal favorite, the Tartufo - a white pizza topped with truffle cream, mushrooms, and permigiano reggiano. Honorable mention to the Funghetto, which is also incredibly delicious. I'm also a fan of their arancini rice balls. read more

Verde is a nice neighborhood pizza joint located in Canton. Nice enough for a date night, but casual enough to swing by after work or kickball. The menu has appetizers, Panini's, calzones and quite the assortment of pizzas, all of which feature fresh authentic ingredients, cooked in a wood fired oven. The pizzas are relatively small for their price and are supposed to be a single serving pie. Most pizzas are between $14-20, all of which are thin crust. I sampled 5 different pizzas, including Verde's dessert Nutella pizza. The other pizza's we tried were the pistachio e salsiccia, the pizza con burrata, the prosciutto e fico and the funghetto. The table favorites were unanimously the pistachio e salsiccia, which had a pistachio pesto as the base sauce, which was then topped with ground sausage, mozzarella and pecorino romano cheese. The pistachio successfully paired with the fennel, meaty sausage, all held together by spots of homemade mozzarella cheese. I also really enjoyed the pizza with burrata, which was Verde's homemade tomato sauce (very fresh tasting and just all around great) and then topped with thick pieces of burrata (mozzarella with a soft , almost liquid center) and leaves of basil. The freshness and simplicity of this pizza made it very addictive. For me, the prosciutto pizza was a bit too sweet from the fig jam, but others like it. The funghetto was just not as tasty as I had hoped. The menu boasts wild mushrooms, and maybe they were, but I was expecting shitake, morels and/or chanterelle mushrooms. The pizza was also topped with arugula and truffle oil, which finally made me realize I don't like arugula on pizza - or truffle oil on anything for that matter. Lastly, the Nutella dessert pizza was good, but needed something else to be on the pizza - even something as basic as vanilla gelato in the middle of the pizza which slowly melted and coated the top of the pie. All in all, I will be back. I just now already know which pizzas to order. read more

Definitely my favorite pizza place in Baltimore. Somewhat a pity I got there so rarely - in large part due to living in a different part of a town. I went there with a French friend - it is her favorite pizza place as well and she positively loves it as well. To start with, they have a proper Neapolitan pizza oven and bake the crust of proper thickness and consistency. That's the toughest part that most of the pizza makers fail at. Their topping selection is also fairly consistent with what you find in Italy and uses prime ingredients, resulting in a quality final product that is completely delicious. Even if the seating space is limited and you might need to wait or to come early to get in there, it's definitely a great spot that I would recommend. read more

Probably my favorite pizza in the city I think that this place is extremely underrated. They have some of the best ingredients and everything is always fresh. They have a pizza for everyone. They have stuffed crust pizza, vegan pizza.....every option is just so good. It wasn't busy when we were there so we were lucky to have the full attention of our waitress. They also have some good salads, the burrata is very good. The pizza's here are lighter than normal pizzas so I would recommend a salad and pizza as an entree. read more

I've heard for months and months that Verde is the be all and end all to pizza in Baltimore. I'm sorry to say it's not even close, at least for me! I ordered the Tartufo, which sounded delicious, but was honestly barely edible. It had no flavor, and I didn't even want to eat the leftovers, which is saying a lot for pizza, right? It was also pretty small for what I believe was a $17-18 pizza, maybe two servings. I don't know-I might give it another try, but I also tried Johnny Rad's for the first time recently and am in love with their pizza, so why spoil a good thing? Based on many of the reviews here, the pizza is the star of the restaurant. I found this to be true, the pizza is amazing. I would not recommend getting anything besides the pizza though. We got the Thursday date night special which is $50 for an appetizer, 2 pizzas, and a dessert. We got arancini and croqueta for appetizer. They were 80% hot and 20% still frozen! Ditch the chili flakes and spice it up with the chili oil. The dough is baked to perfection. The truffle on the funghetto is strong but not overpowering. It was my first time eating at Verde. I was intrigued because the Verde website stated they had the best pizza in Baltimore. I had to eat and see it for myself. The customer service is exceptional. I really like the bar area. The place is very charming and inviting. I had dinner with my friends and had the pizza with the sausage. We pretty much all had the pizza. The pizza was good for the first slice but I noticed it was very salty. I wondered why my friends stopped eating at two slices while I was on my third slice. We went on Tuesday night where they had 1/2 price bottles of wine. I really liked the Pinot Grigio. It wasn't dry at all. Why I am giving Verde 3 stars is the pizza crust was soggy and salty, definitely not a New York pizza. I thought the price for a personal pan pizza is on the expensive side especially if you only get four slices! It's been years since I was last here - I'd been avoiding it because, although I remembered it being excellent, it is expensive for pizza. Well, now I know that Monday nights are a gamechanger. Half off pizza? Yes please. Location is tricky for parking, but there is complimentary valet. Inside is pleasantly decorated, casual, and noisy (because I guess places get packed when they offer half price pizza!). The cocktail of the day was a rye-something something shrub-cinchona wine-black tea that was delicious. Draft wine was so-so, but individual glasses were decent and very well-priced. Neapolitan pizza is obviously the star here, and it was tonight. The crust is spectacular: chewy and charred in spots. Like good Neapolitan pizza, it's almost easier eaten with knife and fork. I always have a tough time finding really good food in Baltimore that's worth the price. Verde was a nice challenge to that! Set in Canton, this small place has a beautiful ambiance and bubbly staff. We ordered the Burra Faccia, mozzarella with prosciutto, and the Vesuvio pizza. The mozzarella was fresh, soft and full of flavor. The pizza was also very tasty and full of toppings. The only thing I didn't love was how long it took to be seated and how slow the wait staff was, even though the restaurant didn't seem to be packed. This place is known for their italian cuisine, featuring my personal favorite Neapolitan style wood-oven pizzas that are ready in 90 seconds. This place is legit with appetizers of select cheeses, meatballs, seafood, and salads, you can't go wrong while waiting for your main dish. They also have pastas and calzones, but my go to is always the pizza. I can't pick just one that's my favorite; however the servers have never let me down when trying a new pizza or one of their specialty ones of the day! SO Accommodating! We were there with a large group and 1 toddler. They were gracious with a big group. Our daughter watched the pizza makers with fascination. Without prompting one of the staff brought her dough to play with and pound just like the chefs. At the end of the night one of our party found out about a family tragedy that shook us all up. The manager immediately noticed something was amiss, asked how he could help and comp'ed our friends valet parking. Oh and the food was great! WOW is all I can say about Verde! I am still dreaming about this pizza. The number of different options was awesome, especially how many were geared for vegetarians. I got the Funghetto which was out of this world, and my boyfriend loved his Porchetta pizza. We didn't make a reservation so had to sit at the bar (45 min wait on Saturday at prime dinner time) but didn't even mind as the bartender was so friendly and was super accommodating. Love the atmosphere here as well, just wish it was a little less pricey but I hear there is a half price day which is an incredible deal. Tried this place for Baltimore restaurant week. Food/drinks were good, I would definitely go back although there were some issues. I do wonder if things would be different if it wasn't restaurant week. I got the Gorgonzola salad and was disappointed that my "Gorgonzola" was one inch x inch square, and they sure didn't waste any dressing. It was the true definition of "drizzle." Last issue would be the atmosphere. The place is very small and lots of tables crammed together. The small space makes it VERY loud. Felt like we had to scream to have conversation. They may do well to have some sound absorption on the walls. What I did like was the pizza! They have all types. Some more traditional and some very out there. I got one with red sauce and red peppers and liked it very much. Definitely recommend the "Mikey G" cocktail and it was delicious! read more

Visited Verde for my first time a few weeks ago. Unfortunately they had no tables when a friend and I arrived, but, luckily, they had bar seating available. I ordered the funghetto pizza and it was absolutely delicious. I asked for a side of balsamic vinegar to drizzle on top and that really put the icing on the cake! YUM!!!! Would definitely return. I went to Verde for the first time for lunch. It was nice and quiet inside which made for an enjoyable experience. My table ordered the lasagna pizza and some other one I forget the name though. It had butternut squash, roasted red pepper and mozzarella. THE GOOD... -service was good -lasagna pizza was pretty tasty -custom created a zeppoles with powdered sugar and dulce de leche ice cream....was great! Suggested they add it to desserts menu. -lots of pizza choices and offer many options for all eaters -owner was friendly and talked to us about out experience THE BAD... -wasn't wild about other pizza with butternut squash..sounded good on paper, but I wouldn't recommend -I agree with many other reviewers, there's just too many choices with some pizzas having an ingredient or two difference -a little pricey Overall, I liked Verde's and would return. Okay so I never write a Yelp review unless I absolutely love the place. Probably not the best philosophy but this food and service is absolutely AMAZING! I loved every bite. The owner is so friendly and hospitable I will definitely be back. The waiter recommended the Bambino which was great. My husband had a calzone and cousin had the Vesuvio. Went for dinner for the first night of 2020 Winter Restaurant week, which was a Friday night. The deal was $30 for app, pizza, and dessert, or $35 for app, pizza, dessert and a glass of draft wine, so we obviously went for the $35 option (plus another shared bottle of wine later on. oops.) I hadn't been here before, but was excited to try as I've lived in the area for a long time and this has always been on my list. We sat upstairs at a lovely table for 2 by the window. Our waiter had us order all 3 of our choices up front. I wanted the beet salad, a white pizza, and the apple crumble. The waiter informed me that they were out of the beet salad (Strike 1), I got the Burrata, which was very good, but was missing EVOO drizzle, Salt, Pepper, and flavor (Strike 2)....we asked for some and were informed he could bring over some EVOO but they only have one bottle of it upstairs and I'd have to wait, which was fine, but that just seems odd. The pizza's were good. Dessert was next. I was then informed they were out of the Apple Crumble (Strike 3). Lame. It was the first night of restaurant week, and a Friday night. We were in the mood for some brunch time pizza and happily stumbled upon this place! The vibe was nice and cozy (no pun intended since it was blazing hot in June summer heat). Some parts did seem a bit dark but it had an olden day, wood steampunk vibe. The waitresses were nice and cordial and seated us almost immediately. It was around 11am when we got there so probably before the lunch rush. We ordered the Bambino and Pistachio with a Potato Croquet appetizer. Everything was great and phenomenal. Took around 20 minutes to get out but due to the Neopolitan style pizza it made sense because everything from the cheese to the dough were hand made. I highly recommend this place! Verde is one of my favorite Canton restaurants! The vibe is cool as soon as you walk in the front door. The modern yet rustic decor definitely drew me in. The attention to detail in their decor is incredible- I feel like I notice something new every time I visit. I love Verde's pizza- its not too dry but not greasy and the flavors are just right. I would absolutely recommend it for a date night or a night out with friends. I've seen quiet tables set up for two and parties at long tables in the main dining room. The homemade mozzarella was fresh and delicious, but a rare misstep was the 'insalata mista' which although fine did not achieve restaurant scale value and left us thinking we could make the same at home for two dollars rather than paying seven...
