We had dinner here tonight and I would recommend steering clear of this place. While the food was decent, they misled us on our reservation and after we arrived they told us there wasn't any specials this evening. Then when we asked for a specific table they told us the tables were all booked. Nobody sat there all night. Our waiter, Stephan, told us we had better get our order in ASAP as the kitchen was going to be really busy. The restaurant remained half empty all evening. Even after all this we left a 15% tip on the total bill, which we shouldn't have done and our waiter got really surly and left the table in a hissy fit, after being nice most of the evening. He felt we should have left at least 20%. In fairness, the Manager Tony, did try to make up for all the mix-ups. I would suggest trying one of the other fine establishments in Naples and giving this place a wide berth. Once we were finally acknowledged, the service was good and attentive. The drinks were good and refilled at just the right times. The food was average. The seafood paella was fine but underwhelming in the flavor profile. For a signature dish, I expected something that felt more authentic. My husband and I are here last night. Wish we hadn't! We requested to be seated outside. We observed a few empty tables in the front of the restaurant and an alley full of empty tables running the length of the restaurant. But we were told there were no available tables as they were all reserved. All of them Reserved!!!???At 5:00pm?! Really!!?? We were seated inside under an airvent which blew cold air in my face. The waitress came by to quickly introduce herself and ran off to another table outside. We waited a long time for her to return to take our order. She was more attentive with the outdoor seating than with the indoor. We waited again for long time before 3 pieces of sliced Italian bread and olive oil were placed on the table. Finally, after a good long hour or so, our meals appeared but only after the waitress spotted my husband get up from the table...her facial expression was one of concern of complaint. My veal Milanese was cold, tough and flavorless! I could have used a steak knife. My husband's pasta dish was also cold and not very good. Absurdly slow service and cold tastless food! Worst website ever. The first thing you're greeted with is a loud verbal ad trying to convince you to come in. This is a nifty gimmick, but I don't appreciate the intrusion coming out of my cell phone in a quiet public place. The next problem I encountered surfaced when I clicked on the "Events" tab. In trying to learn the hours of performance of the Motown singer performing tonight, I clicked the "Events" tab. Doing so automatically forces me to Download a PDF. The PDF occupying memory on my phone is a picture wishing my a Happy Independence Day from 3 days ago. Though I appreciate the sentiment, I would also appreciate some information regarding events at Virginia, specifically, information about the performer tonight. The last issue I ran into on your website is, after viewing the useless PDF, I can't seem to get back to the browser. Clicking the back button only pulls up the PDF again and again. You can try to blame the browser, you can try to blame the operating system, but the blame rests on the shoulders of your coders and their fail debugging. If you're going to have a website presence, have one that doesn't embarrass yourself. Slick website sold by a slick salesman selling a slick product. "Slick" doesn't sell like it used to, if it ever actually did. "Slick" comes across as "schmarmy" and "dishonest" these days. This place is a horror show. I had gone there once with my husband and another couple and had a decent dinner. And so when I had a group of .six women who were visiting, I thought we would try in again I normally eat pasta when in an Italian restaurant, but the waiter strongly suggested the special of shrimp with linguini as did my friends. When they brought the dinner, the shrimp was uncooked. I told the waiter that the shrimp was not cooked. He disappeared and up came the manager. The manager did not apologize, did not take our plates, and basically was a jerk. He eventually took 4 of the 6 dinners off the bill, but it was absolutely disgusting and the arrogance of the staff is beyond words. Do not go to this place. read more

Started out the night with a reservation and was put in the back patio by the garbage cans. Then we had a waitress come up and try to pour us water with no cups and no settings on the table and she was obviously flustered. Then another waiter came up and tried to give the same intro that she had previously given us, and we were all confused as we had already given our order to the other waitress. Then we saw the arguments between these two servers and we got the first waitress back. We were told then by the waitress right away that we should order all of our food (appetizers, salads, entrees, etc.) all at once because the kitchen was backed up. 30 minutes later, we got our cocktails, and 20 minutes after that, got our bread and appetizers. The appetizers were missing dressing, and was never retrieved after asking 2 times from 2 different people, and still was missing a place setting up until this point. 45 minutes later, our waitress finally says that our food is coming out soon as our drinks have been gone for a while now, and the food comes out cold, and the filet was incredibly raw, and had to be taken back to be cooked. Overall, I would say some weird ass shit went on and I wouldn't recommend if you like a nice fancy place that's worth the money. read more

We've been coming here for years and always loved the food. That being said they are transitioning in another restaurant call Monticello..... hoping they realize a lot of folks like the old menu. Our waiter was very nice and polite and seems to still need some help, as his English needs some tweaking.. We ordered but barely ate the food that seems to be checked before bringing out to a customer.. I ordered the Milanese that was hard and dry from being overlooked. My wife and I stopped at Vergina for a late lunch after the trolly tour. We started with hot rolls and garlic flavored olive oil. Then, we shared an order of Spaghetti e Polpettine, which is Spaghetti, House-Made Meatballs, Garlic, Basil, and Tomato Sauce. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente. The service was as good as the food. A 10 of 10. But then it got even better. The day after I returned from Naples, I realized that I had left my credit card at the restaurant. I called the restaurant and spoke to Eric. He found the card and immediately offered to bring it to FedEx to send it to me (avoiding a five hour round-trip drive to retrieve it). He was as good as his word, and a day later, I had my card back. Eric went WAY above Vergina's excellent service level. I can't give him and the restaurant enough credit. read more

We came here with high spirits and ready to enjoy and authentic Italian dinner, but soon it went very downhill. Ordering our food was a challenge and the waiter couldn't hear what we were saying very well so we had to practically yell at him to place our order. Later in the dinner we had been waiting for over an hour just to get our appetizers and even longer to get our dinner. I've never been treated so horribly. I went with my family, who was visiting from out of town for a later lunch. Some of my family is kosher and since there are no kosher restaurants in the area, we were going to eat here and those that are strictly kosher were going to order coffees and salads. The managers came over and so rudely said that we can't just sit at the tables and he would charge $12-14 to those who weren't going to order entrees. The inside of the restaurant had 1 table occupied and was otherwise empty. I didn't take it as a discrimination issue, I figured they were just mean, until one said he does this for anyone regardless of religion. He said that to me, a young cancer patient in a wheelchair. Once he said that, I was left believing this was discrimination. There's no way he can get away with charging $12-14 for people who don't order entrees. When we said we'd go elsewhere, he said every restaurant would say the same thing, which wasn't true. We went somewhere else and were treated incredibly kind. I will say the hostesses and wait staff was very kind and I could tell they were embarrassed by the managers crazy behavior. This experience shocked and upset all of us. After battling an ongoing stomach ache and throwing up, I finally have the energy to write this review. I'm going to start out by saying that Naples Florida is one of the richest and most prestigious areas in Florida in which my family and I were expecting a unique and delicious dinning experience. This restaurant was so awful that I feel that it decreased the value of Naples with its poor quality food. This restaurant is the McDonald's level of "fine dining". Now let me explain why , first and foremost, we were enticed to eat here by the hostess by being offered $25 special for lobster , steak, and mashed potatoes along with an additional 20% off . Let's just say we were sitting outside and when our lobster steak special came to our table a swarm of flies came with it to accompany the horrid smell of our lobster. The lobster was not fresh , it looked a couple days old, along with the steak . The steak was the worst steak I have ever had in my life and lobster. The meal came with a ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, butter, and gravy. One would say " well that's what you get for getting a special " but in reality I'm from Chicago and could have gone to Gibson's steakhouse and gotten a 5-star steak and lobster for $25. $25 is still a lot of money for a plate for one person , not including drinks. The summer Sangria was even horrible , it had a moldy/chlorine after taste . The probably wiped the pitcher down with a rag they use to wipe off the tables. To top it off with a cherry our waitress didn't give us 20% off so when we told her she came back with a new bill which only had a 3.5% discount on it . Anyway, spare yourself the stomach ache , these chefs clearly have no respect for their work by thinking it's ok to serve days old steak and lobster. My dad just said " If you are going to write so much , please tell the people to NEVER order "the special" at this restaurant " Also, they charge for still water what the heck !?!? read more

Four stars because my filet mignon was charred on the outside and still rare on the inside. However, the mashed potatoes and the santorini chicken pasta were both excellent. Our waiter was great, and our glasses were never empty. At first, I was almost annoyed with the music from the bar, but the girlfriend and I eventually went up to dance.
