This seems to be a 'flagship' store, it's massive (to me) and has EVERYTHING....The best part though, was Luis's patient and informative customer service - an absolute pleasure to do business with such a professional, caring Verizon sales rep.... I was forced by APPLE to upgrade to an SE because Uber and other obligatory apps were/are no longer supported on the i6; out of the box, my i6 was only 4 years old, not 10, and it worked fine. Apple's corporate culture of unbridled greed is the ONLY reason I dropped $460 on a new cell... Anyway, in only 58 minutes tops, Luis answered allllll my many questions, explained the digital groove as it were clearly and carefully, and transferred my data to my new SE in 10 mins of those 58. This is a fine, young man with a bright future...He's been a proud Verizon employee for SEVEN years (!), and it shows. The dude knoooows alllllll things digital man..... Long story short, we needed to upgrade a phone on our plan and this store did everything, including hiding in the back and lying to us about not having any phones so that they didn't have to upgrade for us. Sent us to Brea where we had another horrible experience. I read online that they don't get commission on upgrades only new lines and accessories so that explains it. All in all just lazy people. If you have issues call the 800 number and verify before they send you away or before you even get there so they can't lie to you and send you all over town. Switch 5 lines .. payed over 1200 dollars in contract cancellation to switch( to sprint) then after 3rd billing cycle still no credit .and have had numerous conversations with customer service saying they don't know why the promotion hasn't kicked in. Yesterday, 12-01-2020 between 3:00 and 3:20 pm my wife and I arrived at this Verizon store, we parked and got out and waited 2 minutes until Letty was able to help us, she asked us what we needed, and we told her that we were at Best Buy getting two new iPhones, but they needed our account number or my pin number (we are both in our sixty's I am 69 years old) She asked us questions to which we did not have the answer, so she then asked me for my name and cell phone number and that worked, as we were talking this lady walked up leaning against the glass window asked what's up, we told her, I told my wife if they had the phones here and could transfer the data from the old to the new, lets just get them here, she agreed. Then I give my standard speech, We are not techies, we don't want to be techies, we ain't going to be techies. This lady responded with then that's to bad for you, but we are going to take you into the technical world, I took several steps towards her and told her in no uncertain terms that is not going to happen, that triggered her and the very fight was on, I then told her I am going to break off this conversation with her as we are going to lock up and it will get ugly, then she looked at my with a look look of contempt and no respect and slithered away into the store, then I turned to Letty and asked her what that lady's name was, to which she responded, "Patty and she is the store manager!" Letty tried to calm me down, to which I told her that she was "grocera" in Mexican that means something like rude!!! Letty herself was very helpful, kind and helped us out. But hey Verizon, this Patty, Store Manager was rude, insulting and had no self respect, and remember if one has no self respect, you cannot expect them to respect others. Expect an extremely unpleasant experience . Be careful when they process your order, they have been known to click the wrong button and value your orders as worth $800 less. Make sure you know exactly what you will be going in for as they will try to change what was available . They will come back with less than promised value and promise they can process it on their own another day to get it right, but refuse to give you receipt or any proof of what they promise. I had to call in twice to get my activation fee FINALLY waived and chatted with Verizon 6 times to get the promo they are now charging me $10 for instead of $5 because it was an online only deal. I went to this store as my phone wouldn't charge. In the past when this happened the technician/salesperson cleaned out the connection port and all was good. This time the person (male) used a toothbrush, after a quick few minutes he said "nope, my phone was dead!" The cost of a new phone would be between $800 and $1200. Frustrated I went to the Verizon store in Whittier at the Whittwood and the guy there cleaned the port with a simple paper clip and like magic my phone came back to life, not DEAD!! The employees at this location suck. If you aren't there to be sold the "latest and greatest" and then upsold on insurance plans and accessories, the associates act like you do not exist. My parents don't pay bills online but waited until the due date so they walked in to pay the verizon bill. No one offered to help them. There was a line for the kiosks. Guess other 60-somethings like paying in person too. Unfortunately, there was an issue with a kiosk and the woman was having problems speaking to the manager. Really disappointed with the lack of service I received last night. I went in at 4:10 to get a new phone/upgrade and the lady working immediately turned us away because she wanted to close early and said they close in 30 minutes. I looked it up online and it said they wouldn't close till 5pm. There were other customers in the store being helped but they were not busy in any way. I didn't argue it and just left because I assumed that maybe the upgrade would take more than an hour. We called verizon to upgrade over the phone instead and it took 5 MINUTES. Going to this store was easily the smoothest upgrade I've experienced. The staff were kind and very helpful, which I really appreciate while social distancing controls are implemented. I wouldn't even give a star if I could. I added lines to my account in Black Friday and two of the phones were not in stock. They placed the order and gave me a ship date of December 17th, it's now January 11th and no phones. The order is no longer showing on my Verizon but when I call customer service every few days after holding for hours, they swear they see it and the phones aren't being shipped yet. Went to another store which was helpful but couldn't do anything for us since we didn't order the phones there. Now I'm stuck between two phone carriers with half my phones at one and one phone stuck since I have no phone paying outrageous amounts of money and nobody is helping me resolve this and get my phones. I walked back into this store a week ago and they wouldn't help me figure out their mistakes. Stay away from this store at all cost. My mother-in-law went to this store to have them move her phone service to an iPhone that she was borrowing from someone, as her iPhone 4S had died and she was waiting for 5S to have stock available to buy. All she needed was service moved to the borrowed iPhone 5. While in the store, the VZW rep tried to sell her the original iPad mini "for $139." She told him she didn't want to buy anything because she's not tech savvy and always consults with me on things like this, and I wasn't there with her. He continued to push the mini on her, what a great deal it was, and if she left, he could no longer offer it for only $139. She asked him, "Apple's not getting ready to release new iPads are they?" He told her, "We never know when Apple will release new iPads." This was deception #1. The date was October 23, 2013. As anyone involved in the mobile industry knew, Apple had just held a media event the day before, showing off the new iPad mini w/retina screen, and the iPad Air. So either this rep was lying when he said they "never knew" about iPads coming out, or he's an absolutely awful representative for a mobile electronics store -- take your pick. Deception #2 was that he kept telling her the iPad mini was $139. When she gave in and decided to buy it, she asked, what is this gift card for $220? Now it comes out that he was actually giving her $220 gift card in exchange for leaving her old 4S with them. In other words, the (last year's) iPad mini was not a special price, he was just using the exchange value for her iPhone to reduce the total cost. He never explained that the phone had value until it came time to check out. Deception #3, she asked him whether she could return it? He said yes, no problem there's a 14-day return policy. Then after she finished purchasing (card charged), she reiterated -- you're sure I can bring this back, no problem within 14 days? He replied yes, well of course, there's the $70 restocking fee! While trying to continue to upsell her, they wanted to lock her in and get her to buy the iPhone 5S that she was waiting for, right then. (Had she understood the $220 value she was getting for the 4S at this point, she likely would have wanted to use it to put towards the 5S, not last year's iPad mini!) Anyway, she said she wasn't interested, she wanted to buy the phone from Apple with AppleCare. Here is where deception #4 appears. The rep told her that Apple would charge her twice as much for the phone. That he could sell it to her for $399, and Apple would sell it to her for around $800. Obviously here he was comparing the subsidized price with the retail "unlocked" price. Since she was not on contract (which he well knew), she would have been able to buy it for $399 at either location. He then tried to tell her instead of AppleCare, they have a much cheaper offering, only $10/mo for an even better insurance program. When she said, if I break the phone, I can bring it back and get it replaced as long as I have this program? He said definitely, well, plus the $190 deductible! Wow, great deal! He went on with deception #5, telling her that if she bought the phone from them, she would NOT be able to purchase AppleCare later from Apple (wrong). This was clearly designed to make her want to purchase their insurance program. When she questioned him about the gift card for $220 that was mysteriously appearing to help pay for the iPad mini, he said, oh we're giving that to you if you leave your 4S here with us. She was then given deception #6: that the 4S was "worthless," so why not leave it there and get something for it. Even for a completely bricked 4S, gazelle is offering $65 at the time I write this. Worthless, it is not. When she came home and recounted what transpired, I went into the store with her. When this rep and his manager was confronted about what she was told, instead of working with us to clean up the horrible customer experience that they created, they deflected blame to ME, claiming everything was just fine until I got involved! The two of them stuck by their claim that they never have any idea when the new iPads are coming out, and that they had not heard that Apple announced new iPads the day before. (Verizon, you may want to get a better STORE MANAGER, someone a bit more in tune with the mobile industry, or more honest, or both!) I could go into more detail on each deceptive point I brought up when I returned to the store with her, but Yelp is limiting me to 5000 characters. Suffice it to say, in my opinion, you would be insane to ever step foot in this store, and if you, like me, advise your friends and family that are less knowledgeable about tech stuff, you should go out of your way to make sure they steer clear of this store. The employee that confronted me, named Jigna, was SO rude from the beginning and didn't even tell us about insurance or anything like that. THE WORST PART OF ALL: When I had already paid the whopping $320 to get my new iPhone, she opened the box of the phone by shaking it like a maniac. When she finally got the lid off the phone flew and slammed the table on its side, then slammed again on the face of the phone (touchscreen part). Robbed. So I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for years and I wanted to upgrade to a Droid X. I looked online and actually found the phone available from Premium Retailer "Let's Talk" for $50 with contract extension but I wanted the phone immediately, not waiting a week or more or paying as much as the phone in shipping (not to mention that it was as much as the phone for taxes). So I go into the store and talk with the sales guy and he says there is nothing I can do to get the phone phone any cheaper... I think BS, so I talk to the manager, I have corporate discounts and whatever. So the manager looks at my account and says there is nothing I can do but pay the $299 plus taxes for the phone. There are no deals or discounts and won't be. So I storm out, thinking what a rip off, so for a $250 savings I will wait the week, not like my previous smart phone was dead or anything. So I contact Let's Talk to get the $50 Droid X. The rep takes all my information and processes the order, then apologizes and says my account is blocked and I cannot get the phone from Let's Talk I can only get it from Verizon directly, if I wanted to "try" I could get the phone from Let's Talk for the $50 BUT if Verizon refuses the contract on my account my Credit Card will be charged the $699 as if I bought the phone without a contract. I was livid. So with my tail between my legs I went back to the Verizon store and begrudgingly bought the phone for the $299 +++ and went on my merry way with my new Droid X. I liked the phone but hated the way I was treated. Think that is bad enough... NOPE! Just 2 weeks later I was driving by and there were signs surrounding the Verizon store saying "ALL PHONES FREE with 2 year contract extension" So I stopped in and as expected was pretty much told we already have your money, there is nothing you can do about it. SO, Verizon Wireless Stores, you have gotten the last dollar you will ever see from me. When it is time to get a new phone I will wait and only get it when it is free, and NEVER from this location. The man at the door signed me in and was very pleasant, but did not give me a wait time. So, I waited. Then I waited. Then I waited some more... There weren't that many customers (so it seemed) in the store, and there was definitely no lack of employees. They were swarming all over the place, but only a few of them seemed to be actively helping customers. After over 30 mins of waiting, a young, blond girl walks in. The man at the door told her it would be a 25-30 min. wait time. She complained and said she couldn't wait that long. What do you know? TWO employees began working with her and helping her! I was irate. I had been waiting a really long time. Finally, after 50 minutes, an employee came to help us. I told him I wanted to upgrade and what I wanted. He told me that they probably don't have the phone I want and that I would have to change my plan. Ummm. Ok. I didn't really care about changing plans, but he didn't want to listen to me. He told me to keep my old plan I would have to pay full retail for the phone I wanted. I told him I'm not going to do that. He didn't let me talk. He interrupted both me and my husband when we tried to say anything. He just kept talking about paying full retail. He said it 3 or 4 times. He finally went into the back to check to see if they had my phone. He was gone forever. Finally, we just left. After an hour, we left with nothing. We went down the street to Best Buy and twenty minutes later, I had a new phone and a new plan, all for the same price I was paying before and couldn't be happier. My advice: AVOID this Verizon store! Employees are incompetent and you will waste a lot of time and money. I normally go to the Verizon store on Lambert and Washington in Whittier. Incompetent staff and manager. My husband bought me an iPhone for my birthday from Target where he was assured by both the Target salesperson AND a Verizon representative at the Target store that I could port my existing Verizon prepaid number to my new post pay Verizon iPhone. When my husband gave the phone to me we called Verizon customer service to transfer the number. They were very polite and helpful but said that because we had not had the phone for 30 days yet, only the Verizon store could port the number. We visited the Verizon store in La Habra. After waiting for a rep, he told us it was impossible to do. We protested and said that every other Verizon person we've spoken to has said it can be done. He brought his manager over. The manager was as rude and condescending as the rep. Again, we were told it was impossible to do. We stormed out of the store, ready to return the phone and leave Verizon as customers! We called customer service again and they assured us that it can be done but they were unable to do it for 30 days (they have to send a pin to the phone). We waited 30 days, called Verizon customer service and they ported the number over with absolutely no problems. The lady on the phone was so nice and helpful and very apologetic about the store people. The rep on the phone said that the store people should have been able to do the number transfer a month ago - instead, I've had to carry two phones around with me and pay for both! I am now in the process of writing a sternly worded letter to the store manager pointing out his, and his staffs', incompetence, and that maybe they need to go on some extra training sessions. I came in right when they opened at 10am, yesterday 8/29. I needed to pick up a phone that I had ordered last night. I hadn't gotten an email from them telling me it was ready, but verizon.com said they had it in stock so I took a chance. I needed my phone ASAP. There were 2 people waiting in front of me. I was helped immediately and greeted before that. Casey was going to help me for the day. Once I told Casey I was there to pick up a phone, he noticed that it was sent to their store but not processed. I asked him how long does he think it would take and without hesitation he went to the back to look for my order. He came back quickly with my Black Galaxy S8. He told me that it usually takes 12-24 hours to process but he manually processed it for me. I was so grateful for that. Casey is friendly and helpful. He also is a great person to talk to. He set up my phone and was able to help me pick out a case and temper glass screen protector. I was in and out within 30 minutes. If you go to this Verizon store, ask for Casey! (Only think I would note is that the screen protector was slightly off but not enough for me to be upset and rarely noticeable) read more
