We had higher expectations since we loved the Cuban Cuisine we had in Florida this summer. The Cuban Style Roasted Pork- Lechon Asado is served with their unique garlic mojo-sauce then topped with sliced raw onions (lots) covering the pork. The meat was tender and had that citrusy and tangy flavor, a little too sour for me. Didn't get a strong garlic flavor. The Fried Pork Chunks- Macitas De Puerco had tender lean chunks of pork marinated in Versailles' garlic mojo-sauce and topped with sliced raw onions (lots) covering the pork. Liked the crispy crust and although it wasn't as garlicky, it was flavorful and juicy. Citrusy and tangy, a little too sour for me. The rice and beans tasted savory but could have been more aromatic and flavorful. It tasted like they topped it with their mojo sauce, a little too sour for me. The black beans were earthy but not as flavorful. I had to move the many onions to show the pork in my pictures and videos. The sweet fried plantains were so delicious!! I couldn't stop eating them!! The complementary garlic bread was buttery, soft and garlicky. So tasty!! They have a bar and TVs playing sports. Casual large dining area.

I came by one day because I was in the mood for something different that I did not eat often. When I entered this restaurant, I already felt like I was on vacation experiencing a different culture. I enjoyed going through the menu and ended up ordering the papas rellenas, which were mashed potatoes stuffed with meat and shaped into balls, then lightly breaded and fried. The Famoso Pollo Versailles (Versailles Famous Garlic Chicken) was also a treat. This house specialty was a juicy roasted half chicken marinated in delicious garlic sauce and garnished with sliced onions. I also got their amazing garlic bread bites and this was the perfect addition for this hearty meal. I enjoyed the papas rellenas, which were extremely delicious. This dish was crispy and savory filled with a variety of textures. The sauce it came with was a great way to complement the item! I also understand why the garlic chicken has gotten rave reviews. It was a mouthwatering entrée that tasted better when combined with rice! The bread bites were tasty also and I am so glad I got a taste of this mixture of dishes! I highly recommend this spot and all it has to offer!

Oxtail. The meat is melt in your mouth. So juicy. The sauce is just right.

It's been a while since I visited this place. Glad to see familiar faces, same courtesy, cleanliness, great tasting food and everything just perfect. Ordered the language, oxtail and #13. Always the garlic bread served first, warm and garlicky. Cup of the black bean, food came out pretty fast and it taste awesome. Love it

We came here with friends after seeing the new Bruce Springsteen movie as they said it was great. I ordered the #6 Famoso Pollo Garlic Chicken and an iced tea while my wife ordered a Mixta salad, and we both thought the food was okay. I don't remember what our friends ate but they really enjoyed their food. Enrique, our server, was good and helpful. I'd come back with the same friends who love this restaurant but not sure I'd recommend it to other friends before coming back a second time.

If I still lived in SoCal I'd be eating here weekly! We moved to the bay area 25 years ago but crave the garlic chicken (or pork) served with plantains black beans & rice. Everytime we road trip south we will plan a stop for a meal. Today the 405 traffic south was at a standstill, and since we were hungry we knew our next move-especially for the lunch special which is smaller portion but good value! Hope we have time for another meal soon here or at the Culver City location on Venice. If you have never been and love garlic, huge portions I strongly recommend!!!

Delicious food and wonderful hospitality! I was at Versailles for the first time time over the weekend and I had an lovely dining experience there. The restaurant has good offerings of popular Cuban dishes in vegetarian, chicken, seafood, and red meat. Serving portion is very generous and prices are very reasonable. For my entree, I had the shrimp with yellow rice simmered with a delicious sauce. My friends had the half grilled chicken and the chicken steaks and they had enough leftovers for a second meal. The restaurant was spacious and it felt like a diner. The wait service was great and our waiter was very prompt with our food and beverage. Our meal came to about $25-$30 per person with tips, which was an excellent value for the quality. Will return!

Was craving a Cubano and decided to finally try out Versailles. Versailles is a great restautrant with terrific food and a great vibe. The Decor is understated but this restaurant doesn't need any gilding because the food is phenomenal. EVerything I tried was fantastic. The garlic bread they dropped off was absolutely delicious, I almost want to go just for the bread! We tried a Chicken Samosa and a Beef Samosa and both came out piping hot and were delicious. I had the Cubano which was fantastic, Even just a quarter of it was enough to fill me up which is great cause then I had left overs for days. We also tried the Beef Stew which was fantastic. The beef and potatoes were fork tender and delicious. The waiter was brisk and efficient. I know some people would probably percieve this as a negative or as rude but the waiter checked on us frequently, made sure our drinks were always filled and checked that we were happy with our food. I don't need a waiter to kiss my ass, I need someone that is good at their job and our waiter was fantastic at theirs. I would highly recommend Versailles!!

It's been awhile that I have eaten Versailles food, so today I decided to order for pick up. I got their Famous Pollo Versailles. The food was still good. The half chicken was still tender and moist. The portions are still huge. That's a good thing. But that's not way I'm giving them a 2 stars. It's was for their customers service. It was how my wife was treated when she went in to pick up our food. While I was waiting in the car since there were no parking space. My wife said there was a older man working the front. My wife said I'm here to pick up our to-go orders, name under Kevin. The man said in a rude tone, I need the full name. She gave the full name. The man walked to the food and looked at the name on the order and Instead of handling the food to my wife. He pointed to it and told her to go get it. That was so unprofessional, and the funny thing was the only to-go order there. That's to bad.

Came here for an early dinner and had the ribeye lomo saltado (cuban style). It came with beans, fries, and sweet plantains. Everything tasted great. My wife and mother in law shared garlic chicken plate, which they both enjoyed but didn't rave about. Plenty of tables were available, and the room was pretty spacious. Service was good. The waiter topped off our water whenever he saw it half full. Had a coffee after to top it all off. Will definitely come back to try more from the menu.

After finding out that El Cochinito in Silver Lake had closed, I was pretty bummed--it was my go-to spot for Cuban food for years. I hadn't tried many other places because I kept going back there. So, I decided to give Versailles a shot, hoping it would come close. I ordered to go, sticking with a classic: ropa vieja and a side of tostones. The tostones were delicious and the sauces were definitely a highlight. The ropa vieja was good, just not as flavorful as I had hoped. The arroz con gri (or moros) wasn't for me--it had a buttery taste I wasn't used to, and the rice grain wasn't my favorite. That said, the service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, which really stood out and made the experience better overall. The restaurant itself is casual, great for groups, family dinners, or a chill night out. Prices are reasonable too. Parking is a bit tight--it's located in a small shopping center--but there's usually plenty of street parking nearby, so it's not a huge issue. Will I be back? Probably--mainly because it's close to home and has a welcoming vibe. And I'd definitely recommend grabbing one of their sangria pitcher - it was really good.

First impression: the store itself is really great. They have a fantastic selection of things to try (dry, deli, frozen, snacks, etc) without being overwhelming. Our little lunch group devoured each one, sharing little pieces of it so we could try all three, but not wanting to give too much away because we wanted it all to ourselves. The bread was the perfect balance of chewy, light, and crispy to hold all the yummy goodness inside. Not sure why some people are complaining about service here, because every single staff person could not have been nicer or more helpful. Cannot wait to go back and try more things!

The Italian roll was nicely toasted and layered with spicy salame, spicy ham, mortadell, spicy soppressata, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoni and spicy giadiniera spread and Italian dressing. The best way is to eat it freshly made there. We took it to go and the bottom bread got a little soggy but overall a delicious sandwich. HOT CLASSIC MEATBALL- This was for was just ok. The meatballs didn't feel let meatballs at all, more let chunky ground beef. The marinara sauce was good. FYI there's a little wait when after ordering your sandwiches so be patient. I waited about 10-15 minutes for my sandwich since there was one person ahead of me. Until my next visit.

I was intrigued when I saw a spot that I had never heard of with a good yelp rating, I had to check it out. After reading a few of the reviews, and looking at the photographs I was sold. The Antidote delivery was close by, but let me tell you I had difficulty finding it. I want to make sure that others are aware of the challenge because it is definitely worth it. The issue is the signage. I was confident when I walked in and told Arthur, the gentleman behind the counter, that there was no sign, indicating Antidote Delivery, he politely corrected me. It turns out that next to the "market" sign there is an exclamation mark Which shows antidote delivery. My eyes went right over it and I never saw it, as a result I found myself circling around, trying to find the correct location. Once you find it, you may be hesitant to enter thinking that this is just a liquor store. In fact, this market has been here for 25 years and they prepare a fresh submarine sandwich that is delicious. So here is what you need to know upfront, the ambience is not desirable, so plan on a takeout. But if you're looking for a local business with a fresh delicious submarine sandwich, I would give this a try. Arthur was very kind to explain that they do deliveries within 5 miles for $2.99. So if you live within 5 miles you can order your sandwich and have it delivered. It's convenient because it's also a liquor store. You can order anything else at the same time and have that included for that nominal fee. It's always nice to support local places, this feels like a family business but I didn't ask so I'm not sure. One thing I'm certain of, I will be returning.

It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

Did I mention how massive the sandwiches are?! I went with the two most popular items on the menu, starting off with the Al Capone (hot Pastrami, double meat, on crusty bread). This is an excellent sandwich, and the meat is pretty lean - not a lot of fat). I also ordered the Godfather (cold Italian Sub - Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Capocollo, Salami, Pepperoni, Swiss Cheese and Provolone). Also, delicious. You rarely get turkey and roast beef in an Italian sub - so good. The service was very friendly and helpful. There are a few indoor tables, in case you can't wait for that first bite.
