This is a pretty solid pizza place. We had the cheese bread, the Cesar salad, the Ambassador Bridge, and the Cadillac. The pizza and cheese bread were pretty solid and very filling. The Cesar salad was very okay, I'd probably skip out on it next time. The Cadillac was my favorite. It had a very unique flavor and a perfect balance between sweet and savory. Food here tends to take forever to come out especially when it's busy, but the wait can be worth it. Our party ordered two salads and 4 large pizzas. We ordered the Bobo Brazil, Cadillac, Ambassador Bridge, and the Rocket pizzas. All the pizzas were cooked to perfection. My favorite was the Rocket; it was meaty, but fresh at the same time. The Bobo Brazil was not far behind with the hot honey drizzled on top, I do wish it came with a little more hot honey on the side, but it was still good. The Cadillac was also good, although the flavor profile was very one note. Despite the long wait, service was good even though we were there during dinner rush. Went here after being recommended by some locals. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back! Aaren our waitress was awesome, explained the pizza differences and made sure we knew it takes about 25 min for the pizza. Had an order of meatballs to start, while we determined which pizzas to get. I guarantee this pizza will absolutely rock your world just like it rocked mine. Both pizzas are medium-thick (between hand-tossed and deep dish) and have CRISPY crusts. Hold up! Why did it take so long for me to have Detroit style pizza? I've actually had Via 313 bookmarked for some time but never got around to trying it. The reviews and pics alone had me intrigued, but I'm always hesitant when trying certain region's food in another part of the country. It doesn't always taste as good. Well Via proved me wrong. What started off as a food truck by two brothers from Detroit has turned into a pizza empire not only in Austin, but also locations in Utah and Arizona. I'm not sure which location came first in Austin, but I visited the location on Guadalupe. The great thing about this spot is it has a parking garage connected to it as well as street parking. We were able to walk in and be seated right away around dinner time. Sarah was my rock star waitress and she did an amazing job. Ranked as one of the best pizzas in the country, I was stoked to see what the hype was about. I'm usually a thin crust guy, but also have a real love for a Chicago deep dish. Detroit style kind of takes on the best parts of both styles of pizza. First off, alot of care is taken into the dough. The dough itself wasn't overly yeasty tasting and had such a great crisp texture. They have two styles of pizza here. The Detroit style as well as Bar style which is more of a thin crust. I was here to try what they are known for. I was between the Carnivore or the Ambassador Bridge. Sarah said, why not both and go with the half and half. Sweet! The pizza took a minute but was worth the wait. I went with the smaller version because that means more corners. Depending on the hunger levels, this could feed 1 or 2 people. The Carnivore was packed with two kinds of pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon. First bite in and I was in pizza heaven. The crispy crust, loads of quality cheese and meat, and just the right amount of sauce all worked so well together. I didn't think it could get better than that until I had the Ambassador Bridge. This one had sausage, pepperoni, fresh garlic, oregano and the pièce de résistance ricotta cheese. This pizza had the most of the components of the Carnivore, but the fresh garlic and thyme have it some added freshness. The ricotta was such a great addition as well. The creamy and subtle flavors were a nice contrast with all the other savory ingredients. Great news is that they are opening up shop in the Houston area soon. They have upgraded the online ordering process to where you can choose a time to pick up a pizza which is very convenient. Sign up for rewards because it makes the ordering process very easy. You do receive a text when your pizza is ready and there's a takeout entrance at the location so that you don't have to wait in line. Overall: pretty good pizza! I appreciated the number of toppings/options they had and thought overall they did a pretty good job. We got the half and half pizza when we went, and my favorite of the two was the fig bruschetta with the balsamic vinegrette dressing. The other half I had was the Hawaiian, which was good too but not "mind boggling." The place is open and airy with booths and bar seating so that's a nice spectrum of private vs pretty shared seating (which is sometimes nice). Overall this is a nice place to go to kill a craving. Really cool pizza place near campus. We got the ambassador and Cadillac, which took around 40 minutes to come out. This was a Tuesday night, it was already not super busy. Other than that, pricing was not the most affordable, but not too bad. One large was enough for two guys, which was $30. Food was good. Ambassador was decent, but the Cadillac was good. Detroit pizza was nice and fluffy inside but so crispy on the outside! It was amazing and fulfilling. Now, the question is do I love NY pizza or Detroit pizza? A GIRL CANNOT DECIDE! Tip: try to get there before the crazy rush of dinner time. Finally made it into this location of Via 313, and loved how huge the space was! We came on a Sunday evening and we're able to watch a playoff game at the bar. So we took our time showing up to the restaurant, and then ate our pizzas at the bar and got drinks. I got the herbivore and my friend got the omnivore. Both were of course amazing as usual. My one negative is my pizza could have had more sauce. I felt like the line of marinara was super thin, when I feel like sauce is a staple on pizza! I've visited another location since, but this location in particular had a friendlier staff! The waitress gave us a run down of the menu, offered suggestions, and was patient with us! We decided to get a large 8 slice to split amongst 3 people, and we got half Detroiter and half The 500. I also got a glass of red wine which was fair and the broccoli app (so so). The pizza came pretty quickly and it looked really good. But biting into it, I have to say I didn't get the same excitement as the first couple times in years back. The flavor was good but the cheese was a little stiff, and there wasn't a ton of "crispy" on the edges. All in all it was okay but a couple slices were enough. However, the wait staff was nice; she found out it was my bday and brought a complimentary dessert pizza, which honestly was incredible. I've been to many other Via 313 locations before, but this one certainly stands out. During the times of the pandemic I've gotten Via both via takeout as well as dine in. Consistently they have given excellent service but best of all excellent food. Atmosphere: For the North Campus location, you get a relaxed homely bar type feel. Complete with patio seating, perfect for friends on a sunny day that want to enjoy pizza and beer. Food: Being a long time customer of Via 313, they say they make great pizza, and simply that, it's great Detroit style pizza! I've tried various styles ranging from the limited time crab rangoon pizza, to the classic detroiter, to a plain pepperoni. You really cannot go wrong with any if you're in the mood for a thick style pizza full of flavor and deep dish style cheese. Be sure to get that awesome cheese stretch shot. Also recommend cheesy bread if you are in the mood for any. Service: Often times casual spots like this have great service, however Via 313 is the standout in that you really get a nice homely friend feel to it. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive, no complaints there. Cheese pizza: Ricotta on the pizza was a joke and kinda got disappointed as it was a tiny dollops but after tasting it, was glad it was tiny dollops, it was tasteless and so thin. Definitely wouldn't recommend Ricotta, it's a premium topping and absolutely waste of money. Buffalo chicken pizza was good but Gorgonzola was overwhelming, and pizza had a strong sour taste. After two failed attempts of getting pizza from the Rainey st location we almost gave up trying their pizza but I'm so glad we didn't! We decided to give them one more try and this time only waited about 40 min for the pizza. We had our doubts on whether or not the food would prove to be worth our failed attempts and I will say it definitely did not disappoint! We got the Detroit style pepperoni and the ambassador with sausage, pepperoni, garlic, and ricotta. Both were great in their own ways. The crust is perfectly crispy but also soft inside and their tomato sauce isn't too acidic. It was so good I ended up back again 12 hours later the next day to order a whole pie to take back to Houston for my husband. He also agreed it's the best pizza he's ever tried and he didn't even have it fresh! Their pizza also reheats really well in the oven at 350-375 for about 10 min.
