Key Lime Pie for dessert
David D.

We had a business dinner at this place in Dallas. I had the best steak of my life here! The food and drinks were outstanding, but the highlight was the filet that was finished cooking by flaming it at our table side. The smell was amazing, but the steak was phenomenal. Best I've ever had. Next time I'm in Dallas, I will return. Highly recommend!

Met here for a ladies night out dinner for a party of 8 and pleased to see how the restaurant is festively decorated for the holidays. Monday night was busy but not loud given the spacious layout of the tables. We had a great table in the corner near the private room. We enjoyed excellent, attentive, and professional VIP-level service and loved the wide variety to choose from on the menu, even for vegetarians. The portions were hearty, delicious, and beautifully presented on the plates like art. The special after-dinner coffee with cinnamon lighted up sparks was a delightful surprise as well as entertaining. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner and look forward to returning with future group dinners.

I have waited a long time to write this review.. Not because I didn't have anything to say, because there was no other place I could compare it to, until now.. For so long I have loved Via Real. There is no other place like it. When Sir Hubbers & I go to our Ranch in DFW, the first place I want to go and have "Hoity-toity" Mexican lunch, is Via Real. Yes, "Hoity-toity Mexican." You read that right. Via Real is a very Romantic upscale restaurant right next to the Four Seasons in Irving, Texas. They offer a one of a kind dining experience, Santa Fe style. It's very beautiful inside with a fabulous unique artistic interior & atmosphere that is very Romantic at night. The lighting in this Restaurant is nothing short of magical. The 2 level dining room, the bar set higher up, like a stage, adds a theatrical element, like your part of a well choreographed dinner play. Act one: Hand made top shelf spicy jalapeño Margaritas flow throughout the room expertly crafted, service, tippy-top Hoity-toity. Via Real is where the Hoity-toity ladies lunch, it's where big Texas size business deals are made, it's where we celebrate.. moi #1 Celebratory Restaurant in Dallas. While the stage is set, the Via Real show features the most incredible performance of all with their uniquely crafted Hoity-toity Santa Fe style menu. The menu features all kinds of yummy dishes. One of my faves is the "Santa Fe style" Grilled Salmon or Shrimp Cesar salad. Of course you can get the traditional Grilled chicken also, it's made with romaine lettuce however, theirs is served with aged parmesan cheese & garlic tortilla strips. You can substitute grilled shrimp or grilled salmon both are superb. The garlic tortilla chips make it. The perfect ladies Hoity-toity Santa Fe lunch in Dallas OuiOui :)... Sir Hubbers loves their TEXMEX beef dishes. Especially the Enchiladas Mexicanas" sautéd tips of beef tenderloin in corn tortillas topped with ancho-chili sauce, served with Spanish rice and black beans. Fabulous. Act 2: The crescendo. Their signature entrees like the RED OAK SMOKED TENDERLOIN 10 oz Beef Tenderloin, Yukon potatoes, grilled vegetables, and house demi-glaze. Superb. A must order. I prefer the CHILEAN SEA BASS MKT PRICE Pecan encrusted Sea Bass, sautéed asparagus, cilantro potatoes, and pineapple cream sauce. Superb. Winners circle all the Hoity-toity Santa Fe way. OuiOui :).. The Sea Bass enchiladas topped with lobster white wine cream sauce, served with a spinach salad is also A must order. Moi absolute favorite Via Real Special: Pepita crusted shrimp, beet infused yucon gold potatoes & fresh sautéed veggies with a seafood cream sauce. 2.DIE.4 Still, one of the best things I have ever eaten. Unmatched in taste, style & elegance. A masterpiece. Act 3: Delicious desserts made to order in-house. Their bread pudding is homemade with pineapple & chocolate chips, then, topped with Henry's Vanilla Ice Cream. A must order. OuiOui :)... The Finale: Again, no one else can compare to Via Real. It's beauty, it's Romantic Ambiance, it's uniqueness, superbly crafted drinks & unique dishes do make it superior in every way. "All the world's a stage in which we all play a part" and i'm so thrilled to be part of the celebration that is "Via Real." Added to moi new list of "Moi Top 3 Best Mexican Restaurant's in America." Also, Most Romantic Restaurants lists, best seafood, fsve steak lists, best happy hour, fave tacos lists & Moi #1 Hoity-toity celebratory restaurant in Dallas. Encore! Encore! Encore! Highest Recommendations.

The family dinner was great!

We have been coming to Via Real for forty years,.and this was one of the best dinners we have had! We had a large family gathering (some parents ate there as children) and it was a wonderful, memorable dinner. Andrea should be commended in leading the team in providing wonderful service especially to the younger members of our party including one with sensory issues. That member appreciated the nice ambience. Both our granddaughters gave meal a 100% approval rating, as did the the rest of the family. Fran's legacy is in good hands. Thanks!

Fajita Chicken Dinner

I recently had to go back to Dallas, so it's my second time dining here (the last time was almost a year prior) . We had a much larger group this time (was around 5 last time and 14 this time). It was national tequila day- whatever excuse can be used to enjoy a margarita is to be cherished and abused. I got the fajita this time as well- delicious. Their guac is also very fresh and flavorful. Their sides are hefty and the tortillas were so soft and delightful. The ambiance is super weird in that it really looks like an Italian restaurant- a bit upscale... but it's Mexican food. Mismatched decor but the food is good enough to come back if I have to.

Ordered the steak on the seasonal menu. Service is good and loved the decor. I will definitely be back.

5 all across the board. Best guacamole I've ever put in my mouth! Everything was hot and fresh. The menu ranges from traditional Mexican to Texas style steaks. Our wait staff was second to none! The restaurant itself was clean and well appointed. There are literally ZERO negatives. I will be there any time I pass through DFW.

Classy restaurant with outstanding service. The food was amazing especially the tenderloin. Appetizers were excellent too. Staff was quick and attentive. Highly recommend

Pre-concert dinner and a return to one of our first dates 15 years ago! Our server, Rafael, was amazing! And the GM also stopped by our table. He's been there since it opened in 1985! Rafael took the time to make sure our evening was perfect, he even took our picture at the same spot we had a pic saved from the first time! The atmosphere sets the mood to make any meal feel special. Didn't get a pic of hubby's steak, but it was cooked perfectly, and my crab & shrimp enchiladas were amazing! We went all out with a bottle of Tempranillo wine and shared bread pudding (YUM) for dessert! We promised not to wait another 15 years to go back!

What is the attire?

It's Mexican food in Texas. Dress code would be the same as any restaurant - except the really fancy places and I do t change that much for them in the DFW area. Dress comfortably and appropriately for regular dining.

It was SOOOO LOUD though. just so many people and loud. Hard to have a conversation. Got the crab cake salad ($34). The crab cake itself was legit. The salad part was an interesting set up since they just had the crab cake on the side and then the salad on the side. I really liked it! Tried one of the sushi rolls and it was interesting that they added some olive oil and citrus?? when it wasn't specified on the menu at all.. I liked the roll though. It will run you $20+ for one. It's big but I also feel like you would need to order a side if you wanted to make that your main entree. And paying for 2 sushi rolls at that price point is steep. The lobster roll looked good? very saucy though. A lot of the stuff on the menu is market price like the filet, risotto etc.

And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.

So I am thankful this places closes at 2:30AM!!! I ordered the Combo #2, market price was only $42.99, which came with snowcrab, 2 lbs of crawfish, sausage, potato, corn. That was a pretty good price for a Californian! The crawfish were okay, the sausage was really juicy and I enjoyed. The snow crab smelled like ammonia ong. I didn't expect much but they should really get on that. The sauce was brown and gritty and soo dang salty! This place was 10 minutes from DFW and open late so I got what I got. Strawberry Daiquiri was basically a strawberry syrup slush mocktail. The restaurant was connected to a food court it appears, and is pretty old and casual. (English down below)…read more Saliendo del aeropuerto DFW, busqué algún restaurante que tuviera sopa de mariscos; no sé de dónde vino el antojo. Digo yo... no sé. Mejorar estos dos detalles llevaría la experiencia en El Viejón a otro nivel. ¡El Viejón, recomendadísimo! ------------------------------------- Leaving DFW airport, I found myself craving seafood soup--no idea where the craving came from. I searched for nearby options and El Viejón came up. I checked the online menu and reviews, then drove 13 minutes, only to discover a real gem. What I loved: The service was excellent. Nidia took care of us--she was not only kind, but also attentive and efficient. Adolfo, the manager, is a great guy. The simple but important things: Their plastic cups are surprisingly original. The menu is simple and humorous. Prices are fair for the generous portions they serve. What truly impressed me: The seafood soup. This kind of soup is simple: either you know how to make it, or you don't--and when you don't, it ends up like the one at Pappadeaux... something to cry about. This one, however, is loaded with seafood (crab, clams, octopus, fish, shrimp, squid, etc.). It has a subtle sweetness, and you can taste every distinct note. Highly recommended. One soup is more than enough for one person. I learned that lesson too late--after also ordering the grilled octopus. I had to get it to go because it was simply too much food. My only two complaints: The tostadas they serve come with chicken that looks like tuna but tastes like plastic. My dog was with me and wouldn't even eat it--which says a lot. Very strange. The other issue is the music: too loud and all from the same genre. If the goal is to honor Mexican culture, there are so many genres to choose from. Just saying--I don't know. Fixing these two things would take the experience at El Viejón to another level. El Viejón--highly recommended.

The tostada de ceviche was too fishy tasting! The chips came out with some kind of slaw to dip in. Not your normal chips and salsa. I will say that our server Luz Maria was very nice and the margaritas were good! But that's it!!! I don't know what all the hype is about here.
