I decided to try Vaije last night, drawn in by the ambience. Unfortunately, I have to give this place one star due to poor service and underwhelming food quality. To start, I did appreciate how quickly they accommodated my canceled reservation, which initially gave me high expectations for the service. However, our server was inattentive throughout the entire night. I constantly had to flag down other staff members for basic requests because our server barely checked on us. He seemed far more focused on other tables and appeared annoyed when we decided to order only entrées and one full carte plate. I'm not sure why we were treated differently, but it was noticeable. As for the food, I really wanted to love their barbacoa tacos and dessert, but both were disappointingly bland, especially for the price. We voiced our concerns to a staff member clearing our plates--since our server was nowhere to be found--who said he'd pass the message along. Yet, our server never followed up. The General Manager Adrian is very knowledgeable with the menu as well as the drink selection, him ensuring that we were doing good lets me know that hospitality is a priority and also made us feel at home. Arturo our server is also a reflection of what a perfect server should be. With knowledge and exceptional service and attention to detail. He was very attentive with our table and made us feel at home. The staff in general is very attentive to clearing our plates to wiping the table. The Pan de Elote is a must try! Its a new dessert that has been implemented to the menu. Not only is it very fluffy and sweet. But the fact that it is complemented with vanilla bean ice cream makes it the perfect pairing!
