I recently visited Vacinity and really enjoyed it. The menu highlights Bay Area inspired cuisine with fresh, local ingredients and creative yet approachable dishes. Every dish felt thoughtfully created through the chef's vision, and the presentation absolutely nailed it. Each plate had a clear purpose and felt like it told a story. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed, and the staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming that it felt like we'd been coming here for years. The wine selection was outstanding, and the sommelier was very knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through the options.

If you're hoping to sit inside, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. My friend and I both ordered the smash burger and I've got to say it was easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. And whatever you do, DO NOT skip the bread pudding. It was a 1000/10! Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and the texture was incredible. If you're on the fence about dessert, just order it, you won't regret it. The only minor downside was that the sodas were very flat and tasted a bit syrupy. Other than that, everything was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, and the overall experience was excellent for such a cute spot in downtown Los Gatos. Will definitely be returning soon!

The croissant was not as soft as I would have liked and tasted a little stale. Overall, not much flavor. - hash-browns. These were good! Best part of my meal. Love the creativity. - Fun glassware: for some they have great receptacles to go with the personality of the drink - Theatrical ones: those are the creme de le creme and so much fun. I've had them all. Faves of those: -- Dead men tell no tales: pirate themed comes in a chest you can open and the drinks are in diamond shaped glasses. But it's not just a fun show. The drink is amazing. A smooth, complex, clarified bunch. 5 stars -- Magic carpet one: when they had that it was one of my faves I'd order regularly. 5 stars -- Rinse and repeat: one of their classics which comes in a bathtub complete with foam and a rubber duckie. Refreshing and not sweet. 4.5 stars - New for the summer. Tried a few -- Bear necessities: little honey bear with cantaloupe, white miso, and sauvignon blanc. Quite delicious and summery. 4.5 -- Open container: artsy clear version of a paper bag. Interesting ingredient mix with Havana club rum, fermented pineapple, almond milk, and others. Little bit sweet. 4 stars - Their now more standard drinks are still some of the ones I still rely one. Faves of those: -- Studio 54: vodka based with lemongrass and bubbles served in a shiny colored disco ball glass 5 stars -- Man and his mule: peppercorn version of a mule and love the peppery kick. 4.5 stars -- Grand larceny: punch of a spirit forward cocktail my husband loves. 4.5 stars - Rotate out cocktails ever so often to maximize the fun - Halloween and Christmas they go all out with their unique menus and decor: no generic national pop ups for them and I look forward to it every year. - Food items: high quality as well. My fave snack I always have to get. 5+ stars -- Grilled cheese: wonderful combo of white cheddar, monterey jack, and provolone with a bit of truffle flavor--not too much--on a nice fluffy roll. Served with soup to dip it in--often times a nice tomato. 4.75 stars -- French dip: solid version on the same type of roll. 4.5 stars - Can make reservations now online which makes it a lot more convenient - Wines: have a fabulous wine by the glass list but I can't ever pull myself away from the cocktails - Bourbon/whiskey: have a stellar collection and knowledgeable staff to tell you about them (but again never get to it) - Staff: friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable - Atmosphere: relaxed yet fun Midlights: - They used to have a nice nut mix I enjoyed but not on the menu anymore Lowlights: - Books up for the holidays so grab those reservations when you can

The only thing that wasn't really our favorite was the deviled eggs, but everything else was solid. Overall, a great spot for a drink and a few bites. The presentation of the food is also stunning, with dishes served beautifully on black slate plates and mini cast-iron pans. I have to give a special shout-out to the chef: this is officially the only restaurant where I have actually finished the accompanying sides of refried beans and rice. The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

TLDR: Top 5 pork chops…read more So, my wife loves pork chops. For her birthday, I decided to find a place with good chops. It was a bit tougher than expected. I wanted a restaurant that serves nice THICK pork chops, grilled to perfection. Seems like a lot of them are located around Los Gatos... So here we are, for her special day! The best porkchop she's had in California was in Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant has closed... It was called Cetrella. But Asa might have the second best pork chop she's ever had. And so, since Cetrella has closed, this has become the new de-facto best porkchop! For that reason, this place gets 5 stars. I had a bit of it. It was cooked so well, white flesh all around, no pink at all. I think it was grilled and not sous-vide because she's had it done SV style and it still wass pink in the middle, even though it was all "thoroughly cooked". But despite the well-done, it was still juicy and soft! Pork is SOOO Easy to get dry. And especially since this is a thick chop. It was great! And no sauce... just an herb rub. I ordered the steak... it was cooked well. I've had better, and I generally prefer rib-eye over New York. But it wasn't bad at all. Just a little chewier than I would have liked. Plus $50 for a 12 oz, seemed a bit steep. I'd rather have ordered the pork chop. We also ordered the Chili Fries, which were a little too salty. But the taste was really good, and the fries were crunchy. If you dip them in the aioli, it's not as salty. For special occasions, my wife likes to treat herself to a cocktail. She really liked the Peach Punch with the Clarified Milk. It had a heavy dose of rum, and not too sweet. Plus it looked very pretty! We had 3 desserts! The basque cheesecake was ok... it looked deflated on one side, so it didn't look that appetizing. The taste was ok, it's not my favorite type of cheesecake... too airy for my taste. Almost like a souffle. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies though! Freshly baked, huge and gooey. It was definitely worth the $15 for the 4 cookies. Worthy of some of the best bakeries I've been to! Finally, for her birthday celebration, the restaurant gave my wife a complimentary cocktail ice cream. It's kinda funny, she could really taste the alcohol, whereas all I could taste was the banana. But we both agreed it was a great ice cream. She hates ice cream and she still finished almost a third of it! The ambiance is a bit loud. Not a romantic atmosphere, but it's not a club atmosphere either. The service was great... the waiter and busboys were super attentive to us, even though the place was pretty packed. The host was also super friendly. Highly recommend this place! The one bad thing about this is, since it's attached to the Best Western, it's hard to find parking. Most places say it's for hotel parking only, so you'd have to generally park on the street, unless you get really lucky and find a non-hotel parking spot in the lot.

To eat three of us shared some apps, mains, and desserts. We started with the Mixed greens and heirloom beets salad and Delicata squash, then got the Mushroom pasta and Argentinian steak, and finished with the Molten chocolate bomb and Basque style cheesecake. The starters were good, they just weren't my first choice, there were others on the seafood section that I wanted to try more, but that's a reason to go back. Both entrées were great, the steak was cooked perfectly with the most delicious chimichurri, and I couldn't get enough of the mushroom pasta. I would get either of these again. I was still a little hungry after the food, but that left room for dessert and not leaving the restaurant uncomfortably stuffed. We brought our own bottle of wine but also got cocktails there. I didn't like my cocktail very much, but everyone else liked thiers, and I tried a sip of the martini and really liked that. They did have a pretty massive wine selection, so very easy to find something you'll like. We made fairly last minute reservations the day before we wanted to go, three of us looked and all got different availability options on open table, but luckily it allowed me to book. The only option was the covered outdoor patio on what was a very intense rainy night, but that patio is sturdy and rain resistant. It was filled with heaters and stayed very warm, if I weren't sat right next to the opening I wouldn't have been able to tell it was raining.

The minor quibble was that the outdoor space was so tight, anytime anyone wanted to get away from the table, multiple people had to get us and move out of the way - then again when they came back to the table.... We shared the meatballs for an appetizer. Tender and authentically italian. I got the pear and gorgonzola pasta, which was fantastic, might have been better as a smaller portion as an appetizer as it is RICH (in the best way possible).
