An ambitious tasting menu spot tucked away inside a larger restaurant that is trying to fill the massive void left when Manresa shut down (yes, there are the pop-ups but its not quite the same). This is hyper-local cooking (everything is local-ish) with a chef-driven vision. The small team is doing impressive work (top-notch service as they're targeting a Michelin star in next year's guide.

There's a great new dining option in town. Ever since Manresa closed there wasn't really a place that had taken over that refined mantle if cooking. Yes the Ritual pop ups at Manresa gets many amazing guests cooking but it's temporary spurts of changing cuisine. So it's exciting to see a new venture take shape We're fans of Tasting House and their menu has been evolving to this point clearly , culminating in a tasting menu only separate/ adjacent space & experience. The story of a chef's experiences through upbringing, work experiences and the lens of local products is amazing when it all comes together. I think the refinement of this through the sister menu at Tasting house really shows. It's as if the experience had already been around for years. The nods to cuisines of the world, especially that of NYC were exciting but most importantly delicious. They also get to leverage all the wines Taatings cellar. The team is small but mighty and the enthusiasm into the project makes it even more enjoyable. Looking forward how this keeps evolving but they're already off to an incredible start

I recently visited Vacinity and really enjoyed it. The menu highlights Bay Area inspired cuisine with fresh, local ingredients and creative yet approachable dishes. Every dish felt thoughtfully created through the chef's vision, and the presentation absolutely nailed it. Each plate had a clear purpose and felt like it told a story. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed, and the staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming that it felt like we'd been coming here for years. The wine selection was outstanding, and the sommelier was very knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through the options.

What a beautiful addition in Los Gatos, Chef Julian and Vicinity team brings a luxurious and delightful spot in LG. The next Well deserved Michelin Star award in Los Gatos. Great job team.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4.5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no but toast tab Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best quality cocktails in taste and presentation Highlights: - Cocktail quality: everything is top notch and fantastic - Cocktail uniqueness: drinks are truly their own creations you can't find elsewhere. Love the creativity. - Fun glassware: for some they have great receptacles to go with the personality of the drink - Theatrical ones: those are the creme de le creme and so much fun. I've had them all. Faves of those: -- Dead men tell no tales: pirate themed comes in a chest you can open and the drinks are in diamond shaped glasses. But it's not just a fun show. The drink is amazing. A smooth, complex, clarified bunch. 5 stars -- Magic carpet one: when they had that it was one of my faves I'd order regularly. 5 stars -- Rinse and repeat: one of their classics which comes in a bathtub complete with foam and a rubber duckie. Refreshing and not sweet. 4.5 stars - New for the summer. Tried a few -- Bear necessities: little honey bear with cantaloupe, white miso, and sauvignon blanc. Quite delicious and summery. 4.5 -- Open container: artsy clear version of a paper bag. Interesting ingredient mix with Havana club rum, fermented pineapple, almond milk, and others. Little bit sweet. 4 stars - Their now more standard drinks are still some of the ones I still rely one. Faves of those: -- Studio 54: vodka based with lemongrass and bubbles served in a shiny colored disco ball glass 5 stars -- Man and his mule: peppercorn version of a mule and love the peppery kick. 4.5 stars -- Grand larceny: punch of a spirit forward cocktail my husband loves. 4.5 stars - Rotate out cocktails ever so often to maximize the fun - Halloween and Christmas they go all out with their unique menus and decor: no generic national pop ups for them and I look forward to it every year. - Food items: high quality as well. Some of my go tos -- Crab toasts: 4 little pieces of lovely toast with a dollop of avocado mousse and a heap of dungenous crab topped with lemon beurre blanc. My fave snack I always have to get. 5+ stars -- Grilled cheese: wonderful combo of white cheddar, monterey jack, and provolone with a bit of truffle flavor--not too much--on a nice fluffy roll. Served with soup to dip it in--often times a nice tomato. 4.75 stars -- French dip: solid version on the same type of roll. 4.5 stars - Can make reservations now online which makes it a lot more convenient - Wines: have a fabulous wine by the glass list but I can't ever pull myself away from the cocktails - Bourbon/whiskey: have a stellar collection and knowledgeable staff to tell you about them (but again never get to it) - Staff: friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable - Atmosphere: relaxed yet fun Midlights: - They used to have a nice nut mix I enjoyed but not on the menu anymore Lowlights: - Books up for the holidays so grab those reservations when you can

The service was great, the drinks were delicious, and the light bites were surprisingly good across the board. We had the Kobe "Eye of Ribeye" Steak Tartare, Prime Rib Beef Dip, Heirloom Tomato & Burrata, Lobster Roll, Black Truffle Deviled Eggs, Dungeness Crab Toast, and the Hamachi Crudo. The only thing that wasn't really our favorite was the deviled eggs, but everything else was solid. Overall, a great spot for a drink and a few bites. Definitely one of those places I'll be coming back to, especially since there are still quite a few things on the menu I'd like to try.

We've tried their fish, carnitas, and birria tacos - all of which were amazing, though the birria and fish tacos were the clear standouts. The mango paired with the crispy fish is a true winner & you can't beat the ultimate comfort food of the birria taco. The presentation of the food is also stunning, with dishes served beautifully on black slate plates and mini cast-iron pans. I have to give a special shout-out to the chef: this is officially the only restaurant where I have actually finished the accompanying sides of refried beans and rice. They were absolutely outstanding! If you haven't been to Hercules yet, it is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their great drinks either--the hibiscus margarita is highly recommended!

Enjoyed the large tables, lights and ambiance. Would be a fun place for a group to get together. Now for the food - we were very happy with everything we ordered. We started with the queso fundido which was smaller than I expected but very good! For entrees we tried the quesabirria and fish tacos. The birria taco may have been my favorite bite! Delicious!! The enchiladas trio was also well executed. Tried the TJ Caesar Salad, the tamales and the chips and guac. The guac was another star, but the tamales were probably my next favorite bite. I would recommend trying 1 of each of the flavors. All were good and the sweet corn tamale was a surprise hit!! Would definitely come back here again!

Once the food arrived there was no follow up. We had to flag another server down for some condiments I really wanted to like this restaurant because the outdoor seating is inviting However I was sad that my out of town guest ate little and refused a take home container my pesto and salmon pasta was too heavy on the dairy and the salmon was not fresh it had that stale salmon strong taste., which I decided to bring home for my pet. I had a Sicilian coworker who was passionate about Sicilian food. Unfortunately the food here lacked passion. It failed to deliver for us. I would not bring out of town guests here unless you've had a previous experience with the food on par with the higher reviews. I'm sorry that I had to rate this as such.

Ordered: 1) Garlic Bread: 5/5 - Tasted super fresh and garlicky without too much cheese, exactly the way I like it. 2) Walnut Pesto Linguine: 2/5 - It sounded super interesting, so I ordered it. First of all, the dish didn't look appealing at all. I get that it's called walnut pesto, but there were way too many walnuts. As for the pasta itself, it tasted very bland, not flavorful at all. My friend and I ordered the same dish and we both felt the same way, couldn't get past 2 spoonfuls. 3) Pasta Primavera (white wine cream sauced swapped for pink sauced - red and white combined): 5/5 - ordered this for my 5 year old, and omg it was amazing and full of flavor. 4) Burrata Pizza: 5/5 - A very interesting combination of toppings. Must try, do not miss it! 5) Port Belly Pizza (ordered without the pork, made vegetarian): 4/5 - pretty good and flavorful. 6) Pink Gin & Elderflower Tonic (mocktail): 3/5 - Nothing great. I don't drink alcohol at all, so I am not sure how mock gin should taste like. 7) Tiramisu: 4/5 - above average compared to most places. Not soggy or dry - it was good. 8) Brownie Sundae: 3/5 - I had a lot of expectations for this one, but it turned out to be meh, the brownie chunks should have been warm; instead they were pretty hard in texture. They should have warmed it before serving it with the gelato. The taste was good though. Definitely coming back, but I would stick to ordering pizza or the pasta primavera next time. The pizza, bread, etc. were super fresh, and you could feel that in every bite. The ambiance is awesome, you could come here for special occasions with friends and family. Our server was very attentive, gave us good recommendations, and was super nice to us.

I was able to make a last minute reservation without having to commit to a deposit, which was a breath of fresh air these days. After our great experience I regret not trying the restaurant sooner, but hey, better late than never. I made reservations for 5pm on a Friday. There was ample parking at the private lot since it was still early. ASA had a pretty interior with a relaxed upscale atmosphere. Overall customer experience was exemplary. Employees were very friendly and courteous, and the wait staff was especially attentive. Also appreciated that our food came out in a timely manner. We shared the king trumpet mushroom appetizer, arrabiata pasta, and the Argentine steak, which was the perfect amount of food. Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The appetizer surprised me the most with its uniqueness. The mushroom stems were cut paper thin and had the slightest essence of smokiness. Loved the chickpea puree. The Argentine steak was perfectly medium rare, and the meat itself was so tender. The fries were excellent. The fries were made the way I love them - light, airy, and crispy. Addictive and hard to resist. Lastly, the arrabiata pasta was solid. I did think the pasta was cooked 30 seconds too long, but the sauce really made up for the dish. The arbol chili and fresh garlic packed on some heat. We look forward to coming back for the steak and to try the mushroom rigatoni that everyone raves about!

The squash blossoms stole the show, with tender, cheese-filled blossoms, a lovely sauce, and grilled zucchini. The Iberico ham was on point, and the olive oil accompanying our baguette was top notch. Entrees were very good. Two of us had the exotic mushroom pasta, and it was outstanding. Al dente pasta, rich sauce, and plenty of mushrooms. Two of us had the halibut special with white wine risotto and red pepper coulis. The risotto was impeccable and the coulis sharp and creamy. Sadly the fish was overcooked for both of us. We would have sent it back, but no one checked to see how we were enjoying the entrees. The Argentinian steak and chimichurri was quite good. The two desserts we tried (panna cotta and cheesecake) were satisfying, but portions a bit small. Wine list was well-curated and cocktails all delicious. Overall, a lovely dinner.
