Came here for a friend's birthday and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good (4/5) but the service was outstanding (5/5). For a group of 20, our drinks were never empty and we were always attended to. Though the food was served family style, our plates were changed in between courses. Starters: Arancini -- 3/5, crispy, but very salty. The peppers on top were also really spicy. 50/50 foccacia -- 4/5, I wish there was more sauce on the tomato side. Pork meatballs -- 5/5 delicate and flavorful Misticanza -- 5/5 this was superb. I loved the mustard vinaigrette dressing on this salad. Broccoli di cicco -- 4/5, I love broccolini Mains: Cannelloni -- 5/5, this stuffed pasta was delicious! It was a little hard to share though Ramp pizza -- 1/5, I did not like this at all. There were lemon slices on top that were way too acidic compared to the rest of the pizza that was slightly bitter tasting Dessert: Tiramisu -- 5/5, sooo good. Thick and not too soggy Rainbow cookies -- 3/5, I'm not a fan of rainbow cookies in general Drinks: We tried a bunch and all of them were good. Super cute restaurant with nice ambiance. They have some outdoor seating and very ample indoor seating. Came here with some high school friends for a catch up sesh and everyone seemed to enjoy their food! The waitress highly recommended the crispy sweet onions $15 and mentioned that people come here just for that, so of course we had to get one for the table. It's basically like onion rings, but rather than rings, it's larger squares of onion. It was really good, especially paired with sauce that comes with it! Comes out nice and fresh. For my entree, I went with the Fusili $24, another recommendation from the waitress. The fusili they use doesn't look quite like what I've seen usually, it's a lot larger and longer. More chances for it to catch some of the sauces and ingredients in the crevices i guess haha. It was good but I think it got a little heavy near the end, maybe it needed some acid. So. Good. Don't expect huge portions, but definitely expect delicious food. I was afraid that this restaurant was hyped and that the food would be your typical, New York City good not great Italian food, but it was truly something special. Would give this 4.5 stars if I could given the prices and portion sizes, but three of us shared the pizza, eggplant parm and cacio e Pepe and we were pretty full after. The pros: delicious, authentic flavors, speedy service, good water refilling (important!), and portions that while not huge, felt good enough The cons: prices are a bit high (though fair given the area), menu and wine list are small so if you don't like what's there, you're out of luck Will definitely be returning! read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a post workout pick me up. To my surprise there was no line at noon and I was able to get seated immediately. Heirloom citrus salad: (Champagne orange vinaigrette, pistachio, tarragon) This is a super refreshing, fruity, tangy, nutty salad. There was a mix of oranges, blood orange, grapefruit and pomelo so you get a nice mix of a little bitter and sweet. Everything was just so well balanced with this dish. I finished every last bite of it. Definitely would get this again and again. Pappardelle: (Pork sugo, parmigiano, parsley) Fresh made pasta cooked to perfection. The pork was juicy and tender with a nice little heat from the chili flakes. I was between this and the cavatelli. I'm definitely coming back to Vic's to try their other items! read more

Let me start off by saying as soon as you walk into Vic's it reminds you of home. It has a very homely feel that makes you feel instantly feel comfortable. I would definitely bring my kids and family here. The wait staff is very accommodating and very friendly. I should have taken a picture of the drinks , my friends enjoyed their lemon drops , I wanted to be different and get a cranberry Negroni and it was terrible lol but I powered through and finished it , I then took the waitresses recommended and didn't like it that was supposed to be sweet but didn't like that either. Should have stuck through the tried and true lemon drop. Now onto the food, we got the garlic bread which was sooo sooo good , like we could not stop eating it. The calamari was a bit tough for me so a lot to chew and cut through. The pastas were soo good, I will say the cheese and garlic did sit on my stomach a bit also my friend had the same concern, maybe if the garlic bread didn't have the big chunks of garlic on it we would have been fine. I also got the grape sorbet which was really good and tried dessert won't for the first time and hated every bit of it but I'm going to learn to appreciate all wines eventually. Cacio Pepe was light and comforting -- great portion size. Pasta al dente to perfection. Lemon ravioli was so refreshing and the rosemary added a cool nuanced flavor. Crispy onions with cheese dip sauce were refined version of onion rings. The sauce was so rich it could have possibly paid for your college tuition. Came here for a birthday celebration and this place delivered. We had a larger party of about 8 people and we got a large table towards the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. It was quieter than in the main dining area and perfect for our group. The service was excellent and we never felt rushed during our dinner. Came here for a friend's goodbye to New York dinner and it is a pretty solid spot. Got a reservation on resy for indoor dining and service along with food/drink were fine. Solid 4.5, but going with a 4 rating (maybe just for now) as it left me wanting just a little more for it to be 5. The cacio e Pepe was just slightly al dente (worked well that way though) and pretty tasty and the pepperoni pizza was above average with an excellent light crust topped with a nice but not an excess amount of pepperoni/cheese/sauce. The negroni was just OK. Next time I definitely want to try the borsa pasta (ricotta stuffed "little purses" pasta) and another pizza. read more

Solid brunch spot in this neighborhood, especially if you don't want to wait in line for Lafayette's! The inviting rustic-modern decor sets the perfect mood for a laid back brunch. The squash blossom pizza is a standout, a delicious blend of crispy squash blossoms and creamy ricotta on a perfectly thin and crispy crust. Equally delicious is the cacio e pepe spaghetti, which I find to be one of those simple dishes that is deceptively difficult to execute well. Vic's makes a fantastic rendition that offers a great juxtaposition of creamy textures with peppery flavors. They're open for outdoor dining and they take safety precautions very seriously. When we arrived we were seated one table apart from the other group and there were plexiglass between each table. We all had our temperatures taken as well. Staff wore masks and customers did as well. Get the pizza! Thin crusted deliciousness. I will be back for that. Brisket and eggs were A-okay but nothing to rave home about. The peppers were too sour and the brisket was a tad bit on the salty end. Brisket was melt in your mouth tender though. Vic's has been one of my favorite restaurants in NYC for many years!! I've been to Vic's several times for brunch and dinner... I also used to eat there when it was Five Points. And I cannot wait to go back to Vic's in the future! Dishes are made for sharing, which is good because there are so many amazing options, my favorites include: cacio e pepe (I always order), little gem salad, crispy sweet onions with yummy dipping sauce, carrots (yes, carrots), crispy chicken, soft scrambled eggs, borsa, pizza!! I love Vic's so much that I picked it to celebrate a milestone birthday with eight of my friends. I pre-arranged a selection for my party and they surprised me with a personalized menu. Such a memorable night. Great space (personally I don't like tables too close to the kitchen, it gets toasty)... it's always busy with a fun vibe, but sometimes it gets too loud. We sat outside on a beautiful late November night and enjoyed delicious food and great service. We started with the burrata - and absolute must try! The olives were seasoned really well. Then we had the prosciutto (nothing extraordinary), and the crispy sweet onions which were good, but very greasy and too large of a portion for just the 2 of us - definitely better for a larger group. We shared the roasted chicken and the Brussels sprouts and loved both agreeing that we'd order both of those again - with the burrata of course. Came here for brunch with a group of friends and a newborn (who is absolutely a delight and didn't make any fuss). This is a neighborhood gem and the restaurant was very accommodating since the host provided the new mommy 2 table options to pick from. We stayed there for 2 hours plus to catch up which is a rarity in New York. The bar seats has hooks for your purse/bag under the bar. Instead of plastic straws, this establishment uses paper straws. Love this establishment. The egg dishes were delicious. The pizza was good (though not sure my flavors went together for the egg white fritatta - didn't want goat cheese so substitute fresh mozzarella - forgot to take a picture.). The appetizers were good too. Overall we had great service from our waitress, Barbara, and folks checked on us to make sure we were alright. She refilled our water bottles. The only hiccup is the missing side of bacon which she brought and the cucumber soda (which she took off the bill). We had a great time. As for the new mom, she was very happy that there is a bench downstairs outside the bathroom to change the baby. Things we don't think until it is needed. One of my Yelp friends mentioned the flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom so cute. Yes, I had to take a picture of the flamingo wallpaper. Thank you to Vic's employee for taking a lovely group picture. We don't get enough group pictures when we get together. Sorry to the establishment for disturbing the other patrons with my surprised yelp, when my friend pinched my arm to try to yank the bill from me after I plucked the bill from her. Honestly- pretty disappointed in this place. All the reviews were amazing so we were excited to try it but I'm not sure I'm on board. The best thing about it was the vibes, great for date night, cute and cozy. Starting with the calamari it was incredibly dry and chewy. Something else I noticed- which may be the reason I didnt enjoy the food. Almost every single dish had scallions, chives or onions. And not a garnish, a very over powering flavor. The squash flower pizza (the best thing all night) had large scallion chunks in ever bite, it didn't necessarily go with the pizza to me. Same with the Campanella pasta. Veryvery over powering onion flavor. And looking back at the menu , most of your options include heavy cheese and heavy onion. Just not my favorite combination so I didn't enjoy the food and left feeling very .. oniony.. like i needed mouth wash. But hey if you like that try it, the place is cute and service was good! read more

I planned a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend (he has been going to Vic's for years now.) i contacted the restaurant and they were easy to contact, so helpful and really helped me planned the best time. We were a large group of ten and the prix fixe was reasonably priced. The food was amazing as always even though we were a large group. Cocktails were coming faster than we even asked and they didn't get annoyed when we got a little rowdy (just standing around and usual big group things). The restaurant was lively and busy but our waitress was amazing and kept everything coming on time. They personalized the menu for my boyfriend as well and he loved it. I could not get my recent dinner at Vic's out of my head, so I simply needed to go back as soon as possible.  I was able to satisfy my craving for the spicy Lobster Pennette with another bowlful of the pasta, with its crunchy breadcrumb topping and light seafood broth.  Though it contained a bit less lobster meat on this occasion, it still left me swooning for more.  I also revisited my love affair with the Smokey Witch cocktail, which was a bit more tart this time around, but still tasty.  In addition, my brother loved the Rainbow Cookie Gelato and Dark Chocolate Sorbet as much as I had previously.   Besides repeating the items I had ordered on my initial visit, I also tried some new dishes.  The Heirloom Carrots really popped with their spectacular seasoning blend of dill, capers, and shallots.  The Roasted Sunchokes were boldly topped with a garlicky pesto.  Both market vegetables were well-executed and packed with flavor, but slightly salty.  Lastly, I also sampled the Honeycrisp Apple Sorbet, which reminded us of seasonal cider, giving me another menu item about which to fantasize. We went on Valentines day and they gave us a big booth in the front but not in the main dining area. My boyfriend didn't care for the garlic bread, which is the reason I gave Vics a 4. The garlic bread is essentially a loaf of bread that has melted garlic butter poured all over it...I happened to like it. We loved our other starter, the crispy sweet onions, and the dipping sauce was unreal. Then, we ordered the half portion ($13) of the borsa pasta which is basically ravioli it was insanely good. We also ordered the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe and it was was way to spicy. Only other notes to make were that we would not recommend the dark beer on the cocktail menu. My "Vita Bella" cocktail was sensational. Finally, our bottle of chardonnay was very solid, $68. read more

This place is amazing! I came here with my boss for a work lunch and I was blown away by the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service. The place is classy and makes great cocktails, but what really blew me away was the fact that they made me a custom dish. I really enjoy spicy food and wanted to grab a pasta, but they only had Arrabiata Pizza. I requested an Arrabiata Pasta with some vegetables and the Chef went out of their way to make me one - and it was really really delicious (best arrabiata pasta I've had since Italy)! If you're out there reading this review consider adding it to the menu! I will be back and hope that I can eat it again. read more
