So good to have Dell'anima back in the Village. The food is great and the service is excellent. The vibe is vibrant and friendly. Really great to have a wonderful spot like this so close by.

I'm not sure that dell'anima has what it takes to survive on Cornelia Street. They do have a good amount of business but their food quality and service aren't up to par. I got the spaghetti de nero and it was fine - the shrimps were a little mushy and there could've been more flavor. I did like the pancetta bits in it though. We also had a bit of a miscommunication (the server thought I'd ordered two things when I was deciding between them and only wanted one) and did act a little annoyed / blamed me for the mishap. And they also weren't that knowledgeable about the menu. They said that it was couscous under the octopus but it was actually rice beans and they also didn't know what rice beans were.

exceptional! we were wow'd! straight upon entering you feel how intimate of a place is. its a perfect evening dining spot. for appetizers we got the the arancini and ricotta toast. so impressed with the freshness of the ricotta and char of the bread. you cannot leave this place without trying the pasta. the bolognese was the star of the show - will be coming back exclusively for that dish! a nice little sweet treat of tiramisu to finish off the meal. greta food on top of quality service. highly recommend!

Excellent experience. Super friendly staff, host, bar tender, all the servers are polite and respectful. Their wine list is just right. Prices are good. - a little high - but for the block worth it. Get the endive salad and the pork chop! The interior is a cozy vibe with old New York charm and modern accents. We sat at the bar to eat which was comfortable and not too crowded. Will definitely go back.

The worst pasta I've ever eaten. Gummy, hard... definitely not fresh pasta.

This place is a no. Don't do it. Our server was nice enough but the food was very no frills and less than ok. And the pricing wasn't cheap. My cacio e pepe was very mediocre. Actually less than mediocre. The pasta was hard and gummy. I could barely eat it, however I was on a 1st date (can't believe she picked this place) and I was starving. We also barely had time to eat before catching a show so we just ate our food. Don't go.

If you're a pasta lover, don't miss the chance to visit @gwmarket and try @dellanima + Their TAJARIN ALLA CARBONARA features a creamy sauce of raw beaten eggs, peppery, salty, and incredibly rich flavors! + The SPAGHETTI offers a rich umami taste with shrimp and chorizo, and the texture of the spaghetti is simply delightful. It's a hidden gem in Gotham West Market. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and can't wait to return!

Not a memorable meal but maybe it's because I didn't sit at the bar. Because of that I didn't really get to experience the service or ambiance. The pasta itself wasn't the tastiest I've had in the city but out of the other food options in this food hall I picked it because it looked the best.

I had a fabulous lunch here yesterday! My dad and I decided to go to a place in Gotham West Market and I'm so glad we chose dell'anima. We ate at the counter and received incredible service. The food was so fresh. I had a glass of prosecco, avocado bruschetta (their version of avocado toast), and we split to arancini. Everything was delicious! The avocado toast had great flavor and the bread it was on was the icing on the cake. The risotto balls were spectacular! The tomato dipping sauce was so fresh and I loved the cheese in the middle of the arancini. I could have eaten the whole order by myself... they were THAT good! I can't wait to come back! It's a fun place to sit at the bar and they do takeout/delivery. I'm looking forward to trying the pasta next time!

Loyal customer and I truly love their pasta. The new location is even better (back to the west village). The chicken is to die for like always. Unfortunately, pasta portions appeared smaller and overall every item was pricey. Will definitely return because the food is yummy but limited to special occasions only.

Didn't realize this was part of the foot court, and it was pretty empty when my friend and I walked in. The "bar" seats are pretty close to the kitchen and it actually got pretty how while we were sitting there, as they were cooking right in front of us. Service was great, and they actually gave us extra blueberry jam(?) and bread when we ran out while having our appetizer. The pastas were okay; they used a lot of pepper in both.. My friend and I felt like it mostly tasted like pepper than the other sauces/seasoning they used ): Pretty affordable for New York and would be good for a last minute, casual meal with friends!

This is my THIRD time coming to this restaurant and when the owner knows you want the pollo al Diavolo it's ON!!! Best chicken I've EVER HAS & I'm black lol - skin is cooked to taste like back on on asparagus and spinach (what a meal) I'll be back!!

Chicken Diavolo, don't underestimate the chicken!!! It was our favorite!!!

What just happened???!!! We were incredibly impressed by the service and the food, the food.... IMPECCABLY prepared, seasoned, served. Andrew was soooo friendly and I can't say enough kind words about the flavors, service, and the food. We reserved a late dinner at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Thankfully it was not super crowded. I will definitely recommend this to friends anytime!!! We were a party of 5 and we ordered some things to share. The chicken diavolo was one of our FAVORITE dishes. Don't underestimate the chicken!!!! It's soooo delicious, juicy, and the crispy skin and the secret rub. We are literally in food euphoria. Some other favorites were the bucatini arrabiata, just the right amount of spice! Brussel sprouts honestly were amazing. I will return upon coming back to NYC!!!!!

Very solid Italian food and a cool countertop experience. This is located in Gotham market. We were seated at the counter and got to see the chefs making our meal, which lended to a unique ambiance. I would recommend reservations because the counter was completely full! We started with the burrata, which came with a peach jam and was delicious. For the mains, we got the Bucatini Alla Arrabbiata, spaghetti, and Brussels. All were delicious. My only complaints are that I asked for the bucatini to not be spicy but it was still very spicy. Also, I would prefer the Brussels to be less burnt. Service was attentive but a little slow, which was understandable because they were packed. Overall, delicious and fresh Italian food in a unique countertop experience!

Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies.
