Cute little newish spot in NW area. Place was large and appeared very clean. Had to large TVs near bar that were oddly playing Predator and John Wick. Doesn't really set the vibe for a classy meal. Also find having a table in main dining room with staff eating and rolling silver wear tacky. Started with chips and salsa-both very good. Had nice amount of heat. Tried the red chili con carne- nice portions and excellent flavor. Meat very tender. Also had the enchiladas suiza- also very tasty. We both liked the arroz- plain but didn't distract from flavors of main entree. Service a bit slow. Had to ask for water refills despite having plenty of staff walking around. Overall good experience. Has potential to really standout with a few improvements.

Came for the World Cup game and had a great time getting to know the bar staff and patrons that are more like regulars. I was so impressed by the menu and can't wait to come back and try more. For this trip we only had drinks and appetizers, but everything was delicious. My margarita was spectacular. And the special event mini chimps with the guacamole were above and beyond. I'm coming back soon to experience breakfast.

Obsessed. A must visit. Great at accommodating vegan and gluten free; our staff was INSANELY kind - I have never had better service. I'd come back just for the staff. Fabulous menu with alcohol and nonalc drinks, various vegetarian items that can be vegan, easy to request corn tortillas for gluten free, and really delicious food. Massive servings, beautiful space. 10/10 will return

It all started with a whim & a wish to not eat at home. That's my life lately. As usual, I consulted the Yelp-o-sphere & my personal 'Try 2son' Yelp collection of places I've been, duh, wanting to try. Looking for a nice sitdown Mexican dinner; somewhere we could go on said whim, without a reservation or getting dressed up. I've been meaning to try VC for ages and am so glad I did!! Our host was passionate in welcoming us and offered a choice of seating. We picked one under their massive, handpainted mural of 6 electric colored roosters! Cocky mood set. Our waiter's passion for their menu - from the origins of Oaxacan cuisine to the various sauces, sides & touches made Victoria Cocina special. He was everything! He & back of house were also attentive re: serious nut allergies. He didn't rush the meal, either. Ordered a Modelo & a housemade blackberry guava margarita filled with muddled & whole blackberries whose tartness elevated the sweetness of guava nectar & tequila. Served on the rocks. Memorable. Simple. Different. Complimentary freshly made chips were not the least bit oily, thin enough to not hurt the mouth, thick enough to hold the homemade, not chunky (yes!) salsa. Went down so well with our beverages. Onto the mains: the Red Snapper was fresh, perfectly cooked, excellent flavor & generously sized. A must try if you like fish. Came with a side of calabacitas - creamy & best we've had. The other main was a dish I loved ages ago, Chicken Enchiladas Suizas. I had given up on ordering at so many places because of the one note flavor & poor execution. Victoria Cocina's version renewed my love for this comfort dish! Sauce was delicately cheesy, freshly made & laid beautifully upon my 3 enchiladas. (My adult son is a Cheese Master so I know a good cheese sauce when I see one). You can tell from my photos this wasn't slapped together, or, worse, frozen & microwaved. Must add a rave about the toritillas, too! Heavenly tender & housemade. Of course they were. David Matias knows his stuff! Since we didn't order a starter we splurged on the calories for a twist on a creme brulee - key lime brulee. Guau! Citrus explosion, crisped sugar top, perfect creme served with tiny flowers of pomegranate seeds atop. Mouth-watering. TLDR: Two adjectives come to mind - Vibrant & Passionate. I believe you can taste food made with loving intention, served with care and seasoned with unexpected twists. Love just tastes good! January 11, 2026 at 7pmish.

Go here! First, there's plenty of parking since it's located in a large shopping center. The inside is beautiful with the architecture behind the bar and colorful mural on the back wall. The owner is present in the dining room which is a good sign. The service was friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa brought to the table were a great start, the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered the quesabirria tacos with calabacitas and both items were some of the best I've had in town. The portion was very generous. The quesabirria was extremely flavorful and tender and the calabacitas were simple but full of flavor and not loaded with cheese. The owner was so nice and came by to ask how our meal was. I can honestly say this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in town.

Wow, how have I not tried this place before? If you like Oaxacan Mexican food, this is your spot. Pro-tip= try the Oaxaca Old Fashion. It will blow you away! The woodsy mezcal and chocolate bitters make a perfect combination. We had several items including the snapper, tilapia, rellenos, and tortilla soup. All of it was incredible! The corn tortillas are made in house as well.

Chicken enchiladas with mole, great salsa and bean dip for the house made chips

Had an excellent dinner at this Oaxacan restaurant. Excellent chips, black bean dip and salsa to start - hard to not want to eat them all. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas which came with healthy steamed rice and the enchiladas were packed full of white meat chicken - no cheese or rice fillers, the sauce was excellent and the whole meal was very filling. It was busy even on a late Wednesday just before closing - a testament to good food.

This local spot tucked in La Toscana Village has been open for just under a year and is already making a name for themselves! The curated menu with vibrant and fresh ingredients offers traditional Latin cuisine - complete with incredible mexcal and tequila cocktails. The margarita flight is an incredible deal and great way to try a variety of their unique recipes! The El Chapolin Colorado was also incredibly refreshing and unique with the skewer of chapolines (or grasshoppers)! We tried the Tlayuda Oaxaquena of course topped with chapolines, the Pollo (chicken) in mole, and flautas with the black beans. Everthing was portioned great and had such fresh amd cibrant flavor! For dessert we tried the churros. The sweet tomatillo sauce with the churros is magical and easy 10/10!! Matais and his super team- including his son, a budding pastry chef- are cranking out AMAZING authentic cuisine and is a must-try here in Tucson!

Enjoyed late lunch and was pleasantly welcomed by attentive staff. Chips and salsa served prior to our food order. Lunch arrived shortly and portions were plentiful and delicious. Dessert followed and we even had leftovers to enjoy later. Definitely worth a return visit! The location is nicely decorated with Mexican mural and conveniently located next to the Safeway supermarket which gave us the opportunity to walk off some of the calories...

    Queso fundido

Very disappointed after seeing the 4.5 rating. We had the queso fundido and it was nothing but an oily glob of cheese. Taco meat was dry and lacking in flavor. Even the beans were flavorless. Maybe an off day ? We were there at 5:30pm on a Sunday . Host was pleasant, server was also however skirt was inappropriately short for food service environment. Unfortunately, the manager or chef approached several other tables but not ours or we would not have posted a public review.

Absolutely delicious breakfast. The chef created an amazing combination of flavors. Huevos Guerreros.

The chef is incredibly creative and cooks with care. Loved the Huevos Guerreros. Highly recommended.

I would be remiss not to mention the house made rigatoni! I've only had it with vodka sauce, which is too delicious for me to risk venturing out to others. We started with the ABG salad that surprised me because I'm usually not a big fan of Gorgonzola, but the combination of green apple, pecan brittle, and cheese worked really well together and made for a great balance of flavors. For the pizza, we ordered the mushroom pizza and added pepperoni. The sauce was excellent I believe was some sort of a garlic/oil white sauce the mushroom portion was generous which I absolutely love, and the crust was exactly what I look for crunchy on the outside while still soft and slightly sweet inside. My only minor complaint with the toppings is that the $4 pepperoni add on felt a bit light, we only had a 2 or 3 slices per piece. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that our pizza was just slightly overcooked. The bottom was charred all the way around; wasn't burnt to the point of sending it back, but definitely left in the oven a minute or two longer than it needed to be. It wasn't busy when we visited, and it seemed like the employee rotating pizzas was a little more focused on chatting with FOH coworkers than keeping an eye on the oven. I've worked in pizza restaurants for nearly a decade, so I may be a bit more particular than most customers. Realistically, if our pizza had come out even a minute earlier, it would have been a 10/10 meal. That said, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. The quality is there, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

The food was creative while maintaining that fabulous fresh, handmade Mexican flavor profile. Absolutely delicious! Pricing landed somewhere in the $$ amount per person including beverage and appetizer. Very fair for the level of hand-crafting going into every dish. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommend getting one for busy times) and were happy to sit where they could fit us. Our server Louie was EXCELLENT. He walked us through the entire menu in 3 minutes and we felt confident ordering. He also suggested an amazing appetizer featuring chilies stuffed with cheese and shrimp and wrapped in bacon . I ordered the Fajitas Mixtas for my main as I wanted to try several meats. Hubby ordered the shrimp enchiladas with both green and red sauce. Both were beautiful and delicious. I also tried the mocktail that had prickly pear puree. It was delicious and refreshing. The menu had options available for folks seeking Gluten Free, too. Amelia's was decked out with modern, slightly edgy decor that was welcoming and exciting. Seating for wheelchair users could easily be accommodated by dining table chair removal. The Oracle Street location isn't huge, but the staff does a fantastic job getting folks in and you won't feel cramped. I could definitely see the place needing to expand due to popularity someday soon. Go and you won't regret it. This has made the list for returning to the next time we're in town!

They have a great selection with plenty of options, even for the picky ones (aka me!). The prices are very reasonable, and the food is colorful, beautiful, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise level. It gets so loud that it's really difficult to have a meaningful conversation, which takes away a bit from the overall experience.

We had to ask for it multiple times. They did not offer to pour the bottle. Some others at the dinner ordered cocktails and sodas from the bar which took just as long to arrive. Water refills were hard to get as well. Some of the food was all right when it finally arrived. Some of it was cold. In total, it took about an hour to get our entrees.
