On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't as busy as its popular neighbor (Starbucks Reserve, just a block away and filled to the brim), but it was crowded and competition for seats was pretty fierce. Try to get some sugar for my matcha and the barista gave me a hard time told me it was in the corner and if wasn't there they didn't have any. It's a coffee shop You should have sugar in a coffee shop doesn't make any sense and the barista could have offered me some simple syrup or vanilla I would have paid for it at the beginning had I known the matcha wasn't sweet like the barista said it was. This is my first time at this coffee shop I had a hard time finding the sugar The barista was not going to help me. New to the neighborhood, first time stopping in. I like the fact that it is open before 8am. The place was quiet and only a few customer at 7:00am. I like that! The atmosphere was very calm too - a lot of people were working or studying. What fantastic coffee and treats! We ordered a handful of things as were in town for a wedding and wanted to treat some of our friends. I don't remember all the pastries and desserts we ordered but everyone was really happy with the selection. In terms of coffee - we ordered a misto, latte, cold brew and a decaf coffee. The cold brew is where it's at and I have to say that this was one of the better decaf coffees I've had! It was really delicious, not too overpowering but still had a decent kick to get us through the festivities. Reason for 2 stars is horrible customer service. Staff are very cold and not very helpful. I was recently there and left behind a bag on one of their tables. When I realized I was missing the bag I called to see if it was there and some guy said he did not see it. He even "checked" with his colleagues. I was close by so decided to check for myself and sure enough, my bag was right in front of their face, exactly where I left it. When I told them that they had lied and not bothered checking when I called they just shrugged their shoulders. Their coffee was okay but even if it was the best in the world, with their "I could care less about you" attitude I guarantee I will never return. read more

I was in Seattle for an event and decided to try Victrola after hearing so much about it. I arrived around 10am and there was already a long line, which I didn't mind too much. However, as I was waiting, I saw the barista checking one of the bathrooms and came back to make coffee without washing her hands. Ew! She also had a bad attitude. The girl at the register was super nice and took my order (matcha latte) quickly. My drink came out fast, which I was surprised since normally you would have to whisk the matcha to ensure it blends properly with the milk. I took a sip and barely tasted the matcha. Whenever we're visiting Seattle and go to the big name Roastery down the street we pass this place and after being disappointed big by said big name, I was happy to come here. Let me just say - skip the tourist attraction and come here! I got the iced cardamom latte and it was delicious! Enough cardamom flavor to enhance the coffee but not overpower it. My husband got a solid americano. I love the vibe, nice baristas. Definitely my favorite cup of coffee in Seattle!
