I hesitate to do this review, the food is so authentic and delicious, the place is small and always busy. The day will come where I will have to wait for a table. This is my favorite place for Viet food. The Hot Pots are amazing, both visually and in flavor. Their Pho is 2nd to none and a few of my faves are the Shaking Beef, Oxtail Pho, Goat Hot Pot and the Whole Fried Fish w/ Tamarind Sauce. The variety is exciting, I keep finding new dishes on their 3 menus, and with a large market next door they have access to an envious assortment of fresh ingredients. I enjoy the assortment of Asian desserts and drinks. I always get their ice tea, they come in flavors like oolong, green and black. Located in a strip center on Waters near N. Met some fellow Yelp elites here for a progressive dinner tonight. Viet Kitchen It's a shopping strip, easy parking at least. Trying the crab fried rice and the young Jack fruit salad with escargot. We also tried the artichoke drink, which was lightly sweetened. The oysters here are quite yummy, surprisingly tasty. The banana leaf and shrimp salad was good, the banana leaf was good at least. The mango salad with escargot was good, although I had asked for the Jack fruit salad. The caramelized fish was lovely as well, piping hot and came out in a stone pot, very Koreaneaque. Nothing here was bad, but I also can't say anything was particularly good. Went here because Tien Anh and Saigon Deli were closed. The egg rolls were fresh but definitely way overcooked. The bun bo hue had weird, unappetizing bits of pork belly, which I know isn't normal because I am Vietnamese and have grown up eating these all my life. Pho was decent. Staff were nice. Wow... I must say that Viet Kitchen has really authentic Vietnamese dishes. I ordered a Pho Dac Biet and it was so good. The broth was amazing, portion was perfect. I also ordered Canh Chua Tom, Ca Kho To, and Rau Muong Xao Toi. My parents made these dishes really good so I'm kinda picky when it comes to family dishes but omg, they made these dish perfect just like how my parents made. Service was really attentive and nice. The restaurant is small but very welcoming, nicely decorated interior. I ordered togo so pictures wouldnt look good with packed food. I'll definitely take pics when dine in next time. read more

We decided to check out a new place for pho. We had a great experience. The restaurant was easy to find, there was plenty of parking. It was busy inside, but the service was quick. The woman helping us was super friendly and talkative. We both had the pho with beef. The broth had a nice rich flavor. It wasn't too fatty or oily. The bowl was pretty large and a good value for the price. The menu is small, and they do have take out and to go containers. I would definitely recommend this place. Excellent Vietnamese food! What I love about this place is that they have menu options that are not found every where including whelk, lobster, and oysters. I love that they have an individual seafood menu. This time around I ordered the shaken beef for my hubby. The nice thing is you can choose whether you want fried rice or white rice. Their fried rice is excellent. Fried rice is easy to make, but this one definitely stands out. This whole dish was awesome beyond belief! I ordered the clay pot fish. I'm confused though. I didn't know if it automatically was suppose to include pork belly or just one or the other. Mine was only fish. It was so good. The sauce reminded me of the shaken beef but fish. It included three filets and the bones weren't bad. I really loved this dish and had no leftovers. It was that good. I washed it down with a mango fruit boba tea! WOW what a great experience! I came here after seeing a post in a FB group and saw the pictures. I had no idea this restaurant changed (I still liked the previous restaurant as well). There's new owners and they've been open for 4 months now. I've got to say, my first impression is great. I drove here after a gym session. I got the fried spring rolls, clams with peanut topping, and a small platter of quail. My server recommended the quail and said it's a good portion for just myself along with all the other things I ordered. The fried spring roll was much larger than what you usually get at other restaurants and the filling was good. I enjoyed my meal with vietnamese coffee, which always sends a shock of energy to my body. The quail came with lime, salt, and fish sauce. I was impressed with the freshness of the vegetables and herbs it came with. They definitely use quality ingredients to cook your food. It tasted delicious and I was glad I didn't order a huge portion of noodles because I ended up having left overs anyway. When I had my first piece of clam, my eyes almost popped out of the sockets. First off, it came out super fresh and the shells are still very hot so let it settle a bit so you don't burn your fingers if you're sensitive to heat. It was super juicy, cooked perfectly, and whatever toppings they had on there was superb! I was weary of the peanut topping since I'm not a huge fan of peanuts, but it worked. They do also have an option not to have peanuts on top. I liked it as is, but it also came with this mysterious sauce (maybe a combo of a soy based sauce and fish sauce?). When you pair it with the mysterious sauce, it enhances the flavor even MORE! I highly recommend it. I also loved that they gave me an empty bowl to discard my clam shells in. The décor is super cute with a nice vibe and it's kept very clean. They also have a fridge section where they sell desserts. I like this option as you can just pack something To-Go for later if you're too full for dessert. The staff was all so friendly. My first meal here was great and I'm definitely coming back to try more. I'm looking forward to tasting their other drinks that are highly rated by other yelpers. I like local own restaurants who do well. It is true 5 stars restaurant due to the cuisine, technique and unique food. We have try many dishes. The appetizer we have is roasted quail. This dish you need to call ahead to assure they have the dish at the time you visit. Because if they sold out that day, it will difficult for them to prepare for you because it need two hour marinated time. I like this dish very much. The salad dish we have is very unique. We have young jack fruit shrimp salad. I never thought use green jack fruit in salad. This my first I have it. I recommend this dish. The main dishes we have a few good one. The first dish is the shaken beef or sautéed cube steak is delicious. I think the beef can be more shaken will be better. The second dish is the crab meat fried rice. This is great dish to have. Why 5 stars? Because I am so happy I came here. --- --- --- I recently saw Viet Kitchen pop up on a search for new businesses in the area and was excited to check them out. It's already difficult enough to open a small restaurant - I can't imagine how trying it must have been to do so during a pandemic. But you would have never known of any high stress levels from the people I interacted with in here - they were so incredibly nice and lovely. And the world needs nice and lovely more than ever right now. My first two attempts to call in a pickup order were met with a recording that said the number does not have a voicemail setup. It didn't even ring, so I assumed the number posted online wasn't correct and just got in the car to place my order in person. But I called one more time on my drive over and it rang + someone picked up. I guess that means they just don't have call waiting? So don't get discouraged if that happens to you - call back in a few minutes! But because my call was placed when I was already en route, I arrived before everything was ready. While sitting and waiting for my food, two different people came to check on me to make sure I didn't mind waiting. The second lady brought me a cup of ice water. There was just a vibe of generosity and sweetness here that went above and beyond normal cordial behavior. Again, maybe it was more palpable because we're living in tense times as I write this. But either way, they left an impression on me. As for the food, we ordered a few things: -Viet Kitchen Noodle Special: 4-stars. I enjoyed this, but would have liked it more if the noodles had been warmed up a bit. Maybe colder noodles are typical on this type of dish, but I was just kind of surprised by that. The meat and egg roll bits were great! -Pork Fried Rice: 4.5 stars. The wife added a little bit of soy sauce, which made it even better. The pork was perfect. I preferred this to my dish. -Viet Chicken Wings: 5-stars. The best thing we ordered. I would happily order an entree version of this with rice if it were available. The crispy exterior is what dreams are made of. -Pina Colada Boba Slush: 4.5 stars. I've had a lot of boba in my life, but never pina colada. I loved it. Their drink menu is a bit more unique than most - I'd love to work my way through the menu over time because there are a lot of options that look great. -Vietnamese Iced Coffee: 5-stars. I don't know what they put in here and I don't care. It's amazingly tasty (even black) and gave me a very needed caffeine rush, even after eating all of this heavy food. Viet just opened a few months ago and the locals were raving about the amazing food so I had to peep the scene for myself. The restaurant was surrounded by an Asian grocery store and two other restaurants in small strip mall. Walking in I noticed the chic decor and trendy furniture. It was rather small, but not overwhelmingly cramped. The menu wasn't very extensive but as soon as I saw the whole snapper I had to get it. I love to tackle a whole fish! (The cheeks are the best and most tender part of the fish) The snapper came to the table Piping hot, extra crispy and delicious. Had this place on my list to try since near work and always up for some good Viet food. This restaurant is in a plaza with other businesses and the parking lot is TIGHT. Walked in and sat immediately. The place is very cute inside with more modern appeal. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our order. She helped us through the menu and our selections although there was a bit of a struggle with conveying what we wanted. Basically I wanted the grilled beef but no rice, extra salad and with a fried egg. Shortly after taking our orders she came back to tell us that they were out of the beef, so we said we'd switch to pork. Another waitress came over shortly after ours left advising us that she will make us the beef, that it was just marinated and will take a bit longer (5 minutes) however she'd make it. We agreed and thanked her. I ordered the matcha tea unsweetened. It was just average. Our table ordered the potstickers and egg rolls. Potstickers came out quick and were hot! Very good. Egg rolls never came. Service was terrible. To get any service we had to wave our arms in the air. There was another table next to ours in the same situation, the lady kept asking for her salad that NEVER came the entire time we were there! When our food arrived, I asked about the egg rolls. The server walked over to another table, took their egg rolls from their table and brought them over to us. We asked if she just took from that table which she said yes but they were just sat on that table. I told her we'd like fresh. She ended up taking the rolls back to that table and coming out later with ours. We asked for a knife during dining but didn't get it until we were all done eating lol. It was hot in here too!! Food was amazing! We got there 30min before closing, the restaurant was still busy, almost packed! It was recommended to me by a fried so I already had high expectations and they definitely met them! I didn't know what to order, all I knew ai wanted a salad and the waitress said, 'oh this one for you!' So I got it & idk how but she knew me so well bc the salad was a HIT! So fresh and the sauce/dressing was amazing! Very spicy though! They also have lots of Vietnamese foods, drinks, and desserts. Not pictured is the Vietnamese goat hot pot, which is also phenomenal and a rare find! Omg is all i can say. Excellent service from the start. Very busy on a Sunday for lunch. They still accommodated very well for the rush hour. Now for the food....started with spring rolls and wings. Both very well prepared and very flavorful. Next a side of plain fried rice...a must have with any meal. The best i have ever had. Meals..... shrimp phö and the caramelized fish and pork belly. Both just completely opposites but great meals and way too much for one setting for two people so we now have snacks and lunch for tomorrow. Came across this gem when looking for somewhere to eat in Tampa. We were craving Asian food and really wanted some place delicious and nearby. Thank you YELP for populating this amazing restaurant. Located in a plaza with an Asian Market (great for a stop in after you eat). We were seated right away and service was excellent. We got Pad Thai (which included shrimp, chicken and tofu) can't beat that! We also ordered some Pho with rare beef. This is by far the best Pho beef broth I have had in Florida. All the ingredients were fresh and super tasty. We came to the restaurant excited, but the beef in the pho was very tough, and many of the kids couldn't even chew it. The soup was okay, but the chicken wings were too salty. What really upset me was that at the end, when we were paying the bill, the server automatically added an 18% tip to my total, just because they gave the kids a few lollipops. This feels like stealing. Giving a tip should be my choice and freedom, not something that is forced. The attitude was also very mean. read more

So, Im gonna go out on a limb here and say this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Tampa Bay. The pho was AMAZING! Staff: pleasant, very helpful and seemed conscious about cleanliness Food: please see the pics but It was sooo good. Spring rolls has grilled pork, nice size shrimp and fresh veggies. It comes with homemade peanut sauce which was good as well. Now the pho...there are several options to choose from. It was hot(I saw the steam). I chose rare beef (there is well done beef) and added shrimp for an additional $1.50. This beef was so tender and not like the normal beef that is usually in a pho bowl also the shrimp were jumbo. The broth had the perfect balance which I'm unable to describe(sweet, sour, salty, pungency) with added green onions. Perfect serving with enough meat, noodles,broth and fresh veggies. I look forward to trying other options from the menu that sound really good as well. On to the service - waitresses were friendly and great! They were quick and efficient in cleaning dirty dishes so we that we can have a pleasant area to enjoy our food. Where do I even start (So many accolades?!)? I went in planning to order ONE Boba Tea because I already bought food elsewhere and wanted a cold drink to help after taking a bite of (spicy) Nashville Chicken Tenders. Guess what!? I literally couldn't help myself and left with not one or two, but THREE Boba Teas and an order of Pho Dac Biet To Go. While they prepared my meal, I went next door to Lien Hoa to buy fresh ginger, cloves, green papaya, etc. to replenish my must have pantry items. This is actually a great place to kill time if you are waiting for your food. 1.) Ann who appears to be the daughter of the owners who were busily in the kitchen cooking and also at the front of the restaurant to tend to customers who dined in was so friendly. They were very hospitable as I debated on what type of Boba Teas to order...just disappointed they were already out of Rose Tea in the evening; they are Buy 2 get your 3rd one Free on 6/17/2020 or BOGO Smoothies. All three Boba Teas were yhuuge and so good that it's hard for me to pick my favorite. I have to give #1 spot to Matcha Boba Tea because it had the best ratio of sugar to Matcha, was high quality and not bitter. If you prefer something sweeter, the Brown Sugar Boba Tea is excellent and will satisfy your sweet tooth. The Thai Boba Tea was really good, too! You can't go wrong with any of them! I WILL BE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS ALL NIGHT and until the AM! 2.) They put in so much thought on the décor...it's a big improvement compared to previous owners. It's def. more impressive with the blue walls, bamboo planters, rice straw hats, Buddha, etc. 3.) The Pho includes high quality meat (brisket, meatballs, eye round steak & no tendon...really wish they had tripe!) whereas most places would've included fattier pieces of meat & I am a sucker for those bites. They included fresh herbs (bean sprouts, lime, basil) in a separate bag and the broth - WOW, it's well made. I don't usually add any Hoisin or Siracha because I love savoring the sweet flavors of the bone broth. Ann even helped me by carrying my food with me to my car because my hands were nearly full...Like I said, this family goes above and beyond service wise.
