Went to Viet Kitchen last night and went slightly overboard (no regrets though) lol TLDR: definitely worth going if you haven't already! They are SOOOO good! - Clams Grilled with Scallion Sauce: this was amazing. Flavoring is right on point and they weren't overcooked either. - Whelks Sautéed with Tamarind Sauce: this was pleasantly surprising as well! The peanuts on the whelks gave them a rich aroma that goes really well with the tamarind sauce. This is slightly hard to eat because you have to swirl the meat just right but completely worth it! - Pho Dac Biet (combination): amazing pho. Hands down one of the best. The owner even told us that they don't use MSG so you know it's all natural broth! - Viet Kitchen Rice Platter Special: I wish I had recorded the moment when we cracked the egg yolk on top of the rice! The egg was made to perfection: crispy edges but the golden yolk was still perfectly fluid enough to cover the rice. The shrimps was really good too. But the BEST PART was the pork chop -- oh my godddd that flavor was sooo good! It was really hard not to eat the entire dish once you tasted one piece of that pork chop! - Ca and Thit Kho To (caramelized fish and pork belly clay pot): so this is like my guilty pleasure. I love to try caramelized fish in clay pots every time we go to a Vietnamese restaurant. This one was made just like mom's cooking -- it's not too salty because of the caramelization but still has a TON of flavor. It came out super hot (see the bubbling video) and it was still really good the next day as leftovers! I couldn't resist and had to take another picture of this dish so that you can see the fatty fish belly because it's the most delicious part. Oh, we were also gifted two desserts for free: one's a tiramisu and the other one is a lychee brownie topped with whipped cream and nuts. They were really good too!! My BF and I tried this restaurant tonight after noticing it was close to our gym. We were overwhelmed with how delicious and fresh all of the food was and how sweet the owners and workers are. I can't imagine trying to open a restaurant during this pandemic but they have and they're so awesome! We met the head chef too, you can tell right away they have so much pride in all they do. I don't usually write reviews, but after eating at Viet Kitchen 4 days in a row,during our trip to Tampa, I must say this is the best Vietnamese Restaurant in the South East. Their foods are flavorful, fresh and unique. We tried pretty much every dishes on the menu and all of them are well made and prepare. We learn that the chef, Phong, puts a lot of times and efforts to master each dish before putting them on the menu. Our favorites are: Com Bo Luc Lac, Pho, Huu Tieu, Lau Thai, Oc Huong Nuong Bo, Goi Xoai, Ca Kho To and Canh Chua. Not to mention, their service are great! I've been to Viet Kitchen 4-5 times now and the food has been excellent every time! I will continue to go back. Service is alway friendly and polite. They have dishes that you don't get anywhere like Whelk for example. I had it with the lemongrass spicy broth as well as the scallion/peanut topping before. Either one delicious. I also has there oysters a few times and it's fantastic. The Quail is very good as well. My daughter loved it. Pho was very delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp as well as the Hu Tieu were good but nothing extraordinary. All of their salads are fantastic. I don't know how they make their sauce but the sauce / dressing is outstanding! All of their smoothies are made using fresh ingredients only! Love that. No powder and artificial ingredients. OMG. This is honestly the pho that I have been looking for since I moved to the Tampa area. I stumbled upon this restaurant while going to pick up some groceries from next door when I realized that I was hungry and they just opened for the day. This is probably one of the first places that I just went in blindly without looking up reviews or Instagram posts to see what others said, so I was a little worried when I realized this after I ordered. The decor was nice, the staff was very friendly, and overall nice ambience for a small restaurant. I knew I wanted pho so I quickly perused the menu just to see what else was there but was ultimately there just to eat pho. I ordered the pho Dac Biet and boyyyy was I happy when it came out. You could see how clear, but rich the broth was with all the thinly sliced meat placed perfectly and bite sized meatballs and just enough of onions, cilantro, and green onion without being over whelming. I usually like to taste my brother before I add anything in it because I hate the ruin a good bowl of pho by altering it with adding bean sprouts, lime, sriracha, and hoisin (hold the Nuoc mam because I've had many accidents with it). As soon as I tasted the broth, I knew it needed nothing else! There's only one pho that I can eat without adding all the extras and that's my dad's. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this was, dare I say maybe better? (Ah, can't) than my dad's, that I did not even need to add a single drop of anything to it. The broth was so clear and fresh, not frozen(and if it was, it wasn't for long). It had the perfect balance of saltiness with natural sweetness. It definitely tasted like it was just finished this morning and had not been simmering all day/week like other places. The cuts of meat were so perfectly thin and the brisket, oh the brisket, was freshly cut with a little marbling for flavor. I hope everyone has a bowl like mine because it honestly could not have been better. Well, I think a little tripe would have been good but I can do without it especially since it had many pieces of tendon. I can't say that I'm a pho connoisseur, but I am pretty picky and I thoroughly enjoyed this. I felt very passionate about this bowl of pho, which is very strange because I grew up in New Orleans with many pho restaurants, many Sunday morning memories, and I have not felt this way about pho except when I get a bowl of my dads. Anyway, it's $12 for a taste of pure comfort. I wish I lived closer to make this a regular spot of mine but may be worth the trip anyway when I crave an incredible bowl of pho. read more

We have been big fans of Viet kitchen since we had their food couple months ago. Every time we ate here we left with a satisfied tummy and happy mood. This visit they presented a seafood special menu. We picked a luxury dish- abalone. It got very generous abalone portion, tender and meaty in a flavorful sauce- two thumbs up. Mango salad was very good with fresh ingredients, right amount of dressing, peanut, herbs and shrimp chip garnish. It was a light and refreshing dish . The Viet chicken wings was our all time favorite- meaty wings fried to crunchy outside, tender and juicy inside, so good. We also liked the grilled pork stir-fry noodle. The pork was so tasty even the picky eater devoured the whole plate. The special drinks and desserts were outstanding. Kudos to their talented chef and their polite, attentive wait staff. Our server (I didn't catch her name) was really sweet and offered a better lunch option than what I initially ordered which added more on my plate. She was very attentive and checked on us a few times. Pretty good portion sized meals. Both our meals were packed with flavor and delicious. Friendly atmosphere and interior is modern and clean. I was recommended this place by a buddy that touted that the pho broth here was made with actual bones and less of the fillers that other places may have. I have yet to even find out because at this time it's been 25 minutes since I was directed where to sit down and aside from the menus given no one has came over to take my order.
