This is one of those tougher reviews to right. Quality: The food was 5 stars! The best pho in Chico. Seriously, this is the best vietnamese food I have ever eaten. The egg roll appetizers were delicious and so was the steak and rice. The lemonade was also of a unique taste. Value: 4 stars. Basically $3 for the drink. $12 for my main dish (steak and rice). The portions were not large but the quality was best. It was enough for me to feel satisfied. Atmosphere: 3 stars. Entering the place the green room is the classiest. Perhaps it was newly remodeled. This room is 5 stars. Next to is the 4 star yellow room. The front counter is a low 2 stars. Its rinkie dink and cluttered with kitchen stuff. The path to the restroom passes through a storage room. The restroom itself smells bad. Service: 2 stars. The other Yelp reviews about the slow service were right. They took the better part of 16 minutes to bring the appetizer, about the same for my main course. I was with my friend whose order had not arrived. He encouraged me not to wait for his so I ate up while it was fresh. My friend's came after I finished mine. Parking was in the back with one road to go in and another to go out. There is not a lot of parking though and I am inclined to park across the street. Overall the experience was a 3.5 but the food was so good I have to give it a 4 star rating. My advice is to order ahead or have it delivered to escape the wait time. read more

I was a little hesitant to go there because it looks like their home. I took the advice of a friend and tried it. Amazing! It is a full fledged restaurant. The Pho was delicious. My friend and I had gone to Buccees car wash right next door and I was searching for Vietnamese food really close as I was so ready for lunch. This place popped up and when I read the reviews, we were in. The spring rolls in rice paper were so fresh! That's my favorite thing to eat in Vietnamese restaurants. I love pho. In Chico it's always a gamble, but I'm prepared for that. Nothing could prepare me for the sheer unprofessionalism of this establishment. They have no menu online, let alone a real reputable website. Over the phone the employees are hostile and un-accommodating, especially regarding the issues mentioned above. When ordering I was faced with more hostility when asking if I could make adjustments to my order. They were not busy enough to justify their harsh and aggressive attitudes. The condiments at this establishment live in single use plastic to-go drink cups - so unsettling. When waiting for my order there was nowhere to sit except for very dirty tables that had yet to be bussed. When I tried to use the restroom I was turned around by mountains of clutter and garbage. Don't eat here unless you're comfortable eating unsanitary, probably contaminated, half-a**sed food. read more

My overall review of this place is 4 stars, because I enjoyed my experience, but the food was honestly a 3/5 for me. This was my first time in Chico, and basically the closest pho place to Placerville (where we were camping) and in the direction of our home. The owner I believe is usually the one at the register, sweet older lady that makes me feel at home when I go, I usually order B26 w pork but you can choose other options, I have tried other dishes as well and all have been on point. Hands down best Vietnamese food you will find in Chico. Food: Ordered the Vietnamese Crepe aka Banh Xeo perfectly crisp on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. The Bun Rieu was nice and crabby, very flavorful and very FILLING, taste just like mamas. The broken rice my brother had and said it tasted great. Definitely will be back! Thank you! Service: The owners are very nice and sweet, checking up consistently, filling up my water on the hot day I went. Interior: Nice and small, would probably fill up quickly for dinner. The food is definitely not authentic Vietnamese. We had the Pho and it was missing pho seasoning something was off, and too salty. The place is a house converted to restaurant just fyi.
