Out of pure peer-pressure, my boss convinced me to get their homemade chick salad on honey rye and it was one of the best lunches I've had in Utah County. If ordering online or takeout, be sure to ask for extra dressing as the normal portion of dressing can be a bit skimpy compared to the generous salad. If I could give it a zero star I would. This place is ridiculous! Don't waste your money here. A tiny cup of yogurt and granola costs more than 5 dollars, and 'you just go grab it from the fridge!'. I find it very overpriced for what you get was fine. The service was fine, but it is an. order at the counter, and they bring it to you kind of place. I was expecting more honestly. The FRESH is there with their fruit, bread, and pizza! The cookies are as big as your face! They mix their mustard and mayo which I quite enjoyed, and the pizza was delicious. That Neon yellow sauce though... NOT IT. Super salty and sour, I'm glad I tried it with a fork before dumping it all over my salad. It was also supposed to be a strawberry chicken salad, I had like 2 things of chicken in there it was mostly lettuce. Overall I would say avoid the salad, stick with the fresh bread and yummy pizza! Also, the combos are either half salad and a half sandwich orrrrrr a treat and a drink, I found it very odd that a drink wasn't included in a combo with a sandwich and salad. But the service was great, we had a nice blonde girl help us up front, and she helped me find a new salad dressing. read more

When they inevitably get your order wrong, don't fall for it when they offer to comp you next time you come in. Glorified cafeteria food. This place was way too expensive for the quality of food. They forgot about half of our order, but for the food that we did receive, there was a complete lack of flavor or quality ingredients. It's like they used the huge slices of bread to cover up the taste of the ingredients inside the sandwich. The grilled cheese comprised of 1 plastic-like cheese slice, and 2 cafeteria quality pieces of flavorless bacon. You couldn't taste anything other than the bread unless you open it up and taste the ingredients individually. The chicken salad sandwich was equally underwhelming and flavorless. So unfortunate, as the menu seemed appealing. $30 for 2 flavorless sandwiches? No thanks. read more

On most days, I would give it a 4. The Cheese and Broccoli along with the Wild Rice soup are delicious. We also love their sandwiches! However, lately when we've been going, they keep messing up our to-go order. This should be a good sandwich...BLT seems to be missing some items (asked for no mayo, only got bacon and missing the roll with my soup). I placed an online order. It said it would take 40 minutes to make a sandwich and put together a salad. I thought it was odd but gave it 20 minutes thinking maybe they were busy. Went in and the place was completely dead...2 tables and that was it. I asked about my order and told I was early and I would need to wait 20 minutes. I looked around and wondered why a cold cut sandwich and a house salad would take 40 minutes with zero business and about 10 kids working in the shop. I saw through the glass into the kitchen and two guys were playing snap the wet towel with each other and laughing...I guess employees playing in the kitchen takes priority over putting an order together for a customer. I give 2 stars because the bread is really good but 0 stars for the service....someone needs to focus on getting it together with the service at this location! Village baker is a great place to go for lunch. They have apt of great options from Sandwiches to Salad to Pizza. I love their honey rye bread! You have to get the sand which on it! Also, their half salads are huge! I use to to the soup and sand which combo, but recently tried it with the southwest salad and I was full! Also, beware if you take your kids and grandma, they might start with dessert first! read more

I'm sad to say that my second experience here wasn't great. It took a super long time to get our food and it was FREEZING! I was shivering the whole time, even with a jacket on. I LOVE Village Baker. Fresh bread, fresh crust, fresh EVERYTHING! We loved them so much they catered our wedding. I haven't had anything there that I haven't loved. I love the Turkey avocado on their honey whole wheat (previously called squaw) bread. I also love the pizzas especially their pizza monterrey. Also their strawberry chicken salad is delicious. If you're down for dessert like I always am, I'm a big fan of the banana cake, the special K bar, and the Almond bar. You can't go wrong there. Long story short, I love this place.
