OK, I don't know what's going on here at this location. It's hit or miss whether it's good or bad. Lately it's not so good. Today I got seated quickly, even though there were two other couples in front of me. And my drink order was taken very quickly. However, it was very slow from them until after I paid. When my drink came, I almost sent it back. And thinking about it I should have sent it back. Both the water and the iced coffee were in the filthiest plastic glasses. I was literally able to take my thumb and rub the grime off the inside of the glasses. It turns my stomach, thinking the fact that I actually drank my coffee. Let's hope I don't get sick. I pointed this out to the server towards the end and he said yeah, we kind of have a problem. I would say so somebody needs to either polish or scrub or soak in vinegar to get the hard water stains off or something to those glasses and they need to do it regularly because that was just plain disgusting. (note the red lines on the picture indicate where I was able to wipe off some of the filth on the plastic glass so that you could see a cleaner area versus the rest of the glass) It felt like it was 20-30 minutes to get my food order taken. And as I told the gentleman when I wanted, he wasn't really listening. He then asked me. Do you want pork or chicken? I had already told him how do you want your eggs cooked? I had already told him. Maybe this is why he's so slow and taking orders because he doesn't listen so takes twice the time to write his order out. The food came fairly fast once it got . I ordered.Tres huervo Rancheros and a side of pancakes. The pancakes were small 3 inch pancakes. How they can charge that much for such small pancakes. SMH. The chips for the rancheros should be thicker because you can't really put anything on them without them breaking apart. I actually asked for a spoon to eat my food because it was getting messy. Luckily, the server saw the problem I was having and brought me a few extra napkins. I think this should be a given that if you're going to provide a dish where this food is literally sliding off the side of the plate, you should bring a stack of napkins. The rancheros was good, but had only 1-1/2 tablespoon tablespoons of meat. It was tasty, but there needed to be more meat. There was actually more sour cream than pork.. After receiving my bill, I got up and went to the front where another patron was waiting to pay. However, there was nobody at the front desk and looking around the restaurant. There was no servers on the restaurant floor at all. One came out for about three seconds and then another one came out for about six seconds and then they both went back to the back. I actually had to walk around to the entrance of the kitchen and tell the people that we need somebody that can check us out. I had a doctors appointment to get to and I shouldn't have to wait for somebody to come up to the register. Also, when did they stop carrying cash? It was ridiculous. I didn't see any signs when I came in and said we don't take cash. They actually had to call a server to come over to give me change from his tips. But he didn't have any coins. So basically, I was unable to get all my money back that I should have. And because he didn't have enough ones I ended up having to get a bigger tip then I would have liked. Maybe this is done so that they can get bigger tips?! I didn't see anything saying digital payments only. It's just kind of ridiculous. I know that there are restaurants out there especially one fast food lovster roll place in particular that doesn't take cash. Everything is digital. I don't go to that restaurant because of that. It's not that I don't use debit cards. It's just that sometimes I have cash that I don't want to have to go put in the bank. So yeah, I don't know what's going on at this village Inn, but the filth on the glasses alone is enough to make me want to never visit again. Even though the rancheros were very tasty. read more

I finally brought my husband to a Village Inn for a breakfast date and pie. We visited while they had the Valentines special, so that's what we ended up doing. My pancakes were great and we loved our hot chocolates. We got two slices of pie to go. Our waiter was a sweetheart, and did his best to make sure my eggs were made the way I requested. It is a very cute place for a day out. The restrooms and floors do need a bit of TLC, but everything else was what you'd expect from a little diner. read more

Truth in menu descriptions. I ordered a turkey dinner. It was described as turkey. Corn bread stuffing and mashed potatoes. I was asked for 2 sides and asked for corn and soup with Texas toast. Meal arrived and as I ate it I noticed no stuffing or potatoes. Village Inn is a go-to dtop for us. We've been to two or three the past six month's. Yelp is not sharing the address for this one. I must be general. We like the food, coffee carafes and thoughtful service. You'd laugh at the number of servers whi cannot understand, "One water with ice; one, or two, without. Service Test! The VI servers get it right most of the time. Or bringing hot tea with a cup and a pot of hot water. We don't time our visits to Free Pie Tuesday. I'm pretty sad leaving this review because we always wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. But today after church, my mom and I stopped in and were welcomed with absolutely horrible service, filthy dishes, a coffee carafe that looks like it hasn't been washed in weeks and a pretty disgusting bathroom. Our food was not much better. The BLT toast was literally rock hard like you could knock it on the table and everything just tasted blah. We had a really hard time keeping track of our server and it took her a good amount of time to return to our table with anything and by the time she did get back with coffee creamer my coffee was cold and I wasn't about to pour any out of that filthy carafe. The restaurant was clean, they has breakfast rush and food came out a bit slow but delicious none the less and to be expected if a place is full. Where do I start? Nobody up front to seat people at around 11:30 am on Wednesday with several people in front of us waiting also. Finally got seated and then got ignored for 10-15 minutes. Finally ordered and waited and waited for food, my wife ordered their Grand Slam with eggs over easy they came totally browned and overcooked not over easy, hash browns white and not grilled, waitress says pancakes are coming, got them when she was almost finished. I ordered a turkey bacon avocado sandwich with salad and said no cucumbers, the salad came with cucumbers, the sandwich had one side of stale bread and the other side soggy! My wife goes to the bathroom and she said it was DISGUSTING, toilet paper everywhere sanitary napkin disposal overflowing, trash overflowing. Picked up 3 pies for Thanksgiving out of routine more than anything. It was the last time we will ever go there. They were three of the worst pies I have ever eaten. Me and my family went to the restaurant hungry and left hungry. Everything was cold, the tenders were just breading everything tasted as if it was straight from the freezer and popped in the microwave for a couple of minutes. I've only had 1 bad experience, and it was when we went there on Thanksgiving 2021 as a last minute option. I was already upset, and my server said 'Cmon people why don't you have dinner at home?!'
