They have several options on the menu that they can easily veganize if you hold the cheese. You get free bruschetta, super tasty and flavorful, and yummy fresh baked bread for appetizer. I highly recommend two dishes: rigatoni melanzane (pasta with great sauce and delicious eggplant), and linguine del selvaggio (excellent mushroom dish), just hold the cheese on both. Came to the restaurant earlier today to have lunch. There wasn't any sign outside of how seating worked so I asked one of the employees if it was self seating. He replied no but he'd be right back, asked if we wanted inside or outside, we said outside. Since it was pretty empty, the waiter said just sit and he'll bring the menus. The server assistant or busser, not sure what their title is, brought 2 glasses and asked us if tap water is ok. Later, the server came by and asked us if we wanted anything to drink, said no because we have to drive. We ordered the Spaghetti Meatballs with meatballs on the side and Mista Salad. When the food came out, the presentation was okay. The spaghetti tasted very average. Meatballs were just two big meatballs. The salad was just salad... The server wasn't around after the food got delivered. I got up to get the Parmesan cheese from server station and then one of the host or managers scrambled outside to help. After he left, then the server came out to offer if we wanted any peppers. Overall, food was okay. Service was okay but the assistant/busser was on point. I asked if they had any military discount, server said no, that they only offer discounts for residents and professionals. I felt like asking if Fire Rescue is part of "professionals" but didn't bother to since the server seemed like he didn't care or maybe he was tired. Bathrooms were clean in my opinion. On a monday night with no more than 10 tables sat. Delicious food. Sip of water, glass is chipped and almost cut me. Told the server and he "took care" of a glass of prosecco. Villagio not only benefits from its highly visible Mizner Park location but it most likely could not exist without it and I just can't see the restaurant surviving without the positive locational factor as the food is bad. Real bad. Even the restaurant design borders on depressing and it reminds me of the beige and boring dining rooms that you often see in chain Hotel restaurants and that seems logical because this is a soulless tourist like destination. The restaurant could also use a much needed renovation or at least a very good scrubbing and what's up with the partially non-operational men's room? Service was functional and prices were okay but the food just doomed the experience as the care and quality level were not there. A Chicken item was so terrible and low level that it could not be eaten. A Vegetable Pizza seemed no better than a supermarket frozen pizza. Meatballs in a dish were so salty that it too could not be eaten and that was the trend. I live nearby and I haven't been here in years and now I remember why. read more

Villagio has been around for awhile. The service has always been good, the decor is nice, and the food isn't to shabby. I have had better, but again it is good. In the past I would have given it a soft 4 out if 5 stars, but now I give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. The main reason is that years ago the portions used to be very large, but they have since shrunk considerably and the prices have increased dramtically. I understand this isn't the only place to do that (inflation) but it is rather glaring at Villagio. You can really just cook food that is of the same quality at home for much cheaper. If you want a night out Villagio is a viable option, but there is better Italian food in town and the prices are high. read more

I've been to Villagio a few times for their very nice Happy Hour. The beers are $5.00 for a 12 oz bottled beer. The food is exceptional. I loved the Sausage and Peppers. The Flatbread with Bruschetta is free and wonderfully tasty! The server wore a mask and didn't seat the patrons too close to one another. He was friendly and helpful. The Eggplant was terrific. We came here last night with another couple who have been here before and recommended it. The Mizner Park area is fun and lively with several restaurants and shops. We were seated outside as the weather was nice. There was music playing, but it was very noisy and crowded. I have to say that the service was very good with one exception. While we were still eating our salads, they brought the main course. We were in and out of that restaurant in one hour, which is way too short for an expensive restaurant such as this. They did apologize and offer us free coffee, but this never should have happened. I wanted to do something different today and sit down in Mizner Park and enjoy some sun and fresh air. Along with along the beach to see what people look like again. We found a spot underneath the tree with a gentle breeze making for a comfortable visit. After about three hours, I was getting a little hungry, so we took a walk Along the sidewalk to see what the restaurants had to offer. After visiting about five or six of them and scanning the menus we decided to go to Villagio Italian restaurant. We started with an appetizer Zuppe Mare E Monte It's a soup consisting of mixed fish, rice, calamari, shrimp, clams, and muscles in a broth with a touch of tomato and zucchini. The dish is $12, and while it wasn't bad, it was nothing spectacular either. The soup seemed bland, and the seafood was fresh and OK Lombata parmigiana It's a flattened veal chop Lightly breaded and served with melted mozzarella and marinara sauce. When I initially cut into the veal chop, I noticed that it had the perfect consistency and tenderness a veal is supposed to have and the slight crunch on the crust. The sauce was adequately covering the chop, and the cheese was oozing off the chop. The sauce had a slight tart taste to it , which is also the way I like it at times. For a price of $33, I feel I paid too much Fillet Francese, This is a white fish served and a lemon sauce with white wine, egg wash, and chopped shrimp. Mama had this dish, and I must say this dish was cooked perfectly, the fish was flaky, it wasn't overcooked, the lemon sauce with white wine brought it to another level. this is one dish that was knocked out of the ballpark , And I honestly can't wait to go back and have a plate of my own. For $27, I feel like I stole the dish. I would gladly pay double for this dish. The sides with both dishes consisted of potato and green beans, while I don't think the potato and green beans complimented the veal dish, it was a perfect complement to the fish. He had to give me his before we started eating, they had a Rye bread and a flatbread with cubed tomatoes. I think the flatbread had some oregano seasoning on it, and it would've been better if it came with oregano garlic and olive oil to dip it. The entertainment level was remarkable; I couldn't help but notice that most of the women looked like Joan Rivers. I just don't understand why they don't let the natural beauty show instead of mimicking Joan Rivers I know I'll be going back to this place for the whitefish, but the judge and jury is still out on everything else. The ambience was nice, but the tables looked like they bought them at Walmart and threw a nice cloth over it. I found that to be extremely cheap versus everything else they have there Everybody was wearing masks and practice social distancing. They don't wash their wine glasses! Extremely busy and understaffed so the wait time is horrible. I ordered a portobello salad to go and it took 45 minutes. How does a salad take 45 minutes? Simple, they have no staff and things aren't sanitized because of that. While waiting by the bar, I saw the busboy (or waiter, I don't know) take four dirty wine glasses and pour water in them. He then twirled them consistently before spilling the water from one to the other then wiping each glass with a cloth. He was rushing and it seemed like the only way to get "clean" looking glasses since the bar had an over abundance of used/dirty glasses. Now seeing that it was recently shut down by the health inspector on July 11th, 2022. Wish the management paid more attention as it's a great brand that I eat at in different locations. read more

Lots of traditional and unique Italian selections to choose from. I had one of their daily specials; lobster ravioli topped with shrimp in a cream sauce. I complimented that with a Caesar Salad. The meal was very good. Even the bread beforehand was excellent. The service was painfully slow, however. Not sure if that's because we were outside, a party of 10, or if it's the norm. I should add I made a reservation and our table was waiting for us when the group arrived - I appreciate that! Due to the side and front doors being open it was like eating in a sauna. I completely understand that the servers need an easier access to the outside dining area but on a night where it was 90°, one of those doors needs to be kept shut.
