Made a reservation for Friday night around 7PM and was seated immediately with no problems. There were still a couple empty tables inside, but by 8:30PM the place was packed. Awesome cozy spot. Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all on point. Items are pricier, but you're gonna be guaranteed quality cooking and good service. All the dishes had a stronger acidic/ sour taste to them. It wasn't bad, just different from what we're used too. My only complaints would be that it gets loud to the point where you have to really raise your voice to be heard across the table. Chicken liver mousse - perfect amount of liver to bread and the garnishes are fun and brighten up the dish Bleu cheese mussels - sounds odd but it's deliciously creamy and salty. We ordered it with the French fries, but bread would have also been a good option to soak up all the juices. We'll definitely come back to try the other flavors. Charred broccoli - yum really good char Pasta with sirloin - awesome meaty flavor Blueberry panna cotta - probably the least tasty thing that we had, but that's because everything else was so good read more

Maybe it was the fact we went for brunch but it was not impressive in the slightest. Service was poor: very slow, no refills, hardly checked in and got the wrong meal served to us.. The food was ok, I guess that's why you don't see too many breakfast photos. Not sure why places think side salad with a runny omelet is a choice but it's not it. Just very average. I'd hope the lunch/dinner experience is better read more

I have been planning to check this restaurant out after I've heard great things from friends and I'm glad I did. They're open now for outdoor seating I'd suggest and they do accept reservations. I had dinner with a friend last night so we decided to check it out, walked in and got seated immediately and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We didn't order an appetizer but that "Mighty Mousse" sounds delicious it's chicken liver mousse, mostarda, onion and grilled sourdough. Some of you may think that chicken liver is nasty but no it isn't! I love chicken livers and it's good for you! So when I come back that's definitely something I wanna try. For our entrees my friend and I both got a burger and it was delicious the wrapping of the fries and the lettuce and pickles is so cute and it comes with a side of mayo. I asked for ketchup coz I like to mix both. The burger that i had was medium while my friend had medium well and it tasty, the bun was crispy and the burgers cooked beautifully and the fries was crispy as well. Inside of the restaurant it looks like it's perfect for an intimate dinner with a small group of friends, a date or with family but since with pandemic we have to eat outside so I'm looking to checking out the inside once they start doing indoor seating. Service and people are great but the food is horrible. We ordered the truffle fries and they was a cup of salt on the fries. Sent them back and then there was 1/2 cup salt. Waygu burger- 1/2 cup salt, salmon was good but the veggies 1/2 cup of salt; chicken and steak frites - 1/2 cup of salt. Horrible - we should have sent all the food back. Never go. My wife and I had a very nice meal with another couple who are good friends of ours who suggested to eat here. I ordered the Steak frites rare and our waiter Scott said I should have it medium rare. I said No I want rare and he just stared at me. Then when the bill came we gave two credit cards. When the bill came back there was just one card. I said where is the other card he said there was only one. I said no there were two cards and we need to find the other card. We went back and forth a couple of times then he just looked at me and said fuck off. This was hands down the worst experience we have ever had. We just left Vincent having to cancel an American Express card and have our server tell us to Fuck Off. Stay far away from here it's crazy town USA. read more

Stopped by for dinner, it was a week night and not crowded. Drinks were tasty. For apps had the mussels and olives. The olives were just as described. The mussels were really bad. They had an odd flavor as if they were about to go bad and were quite sandy. The gnocchi was ok, I have had it before there and it was much better on the previous trip. Our water glasses were not refilled until we got the check and were empty most of the dinner. I would recommend sitting at bar for a drink but stay clear of the food. read more

While I have lived in the neighborhood for years, this was my first visit to Vincent. Friends took me for brunch for my birthday. The brunch menu at Vincent is concise with both breakfast and lunch items represented. We started with a bloody mary which was very good. Fresh flavorful. A good amount of spice. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict, a friend ordered the omelet and another friend ordered the steak and eggs. I am very particular about my eggs benedict. The English muffin must be toasted enough to remain crispy once assembled. The eggs must be perfectly poached and not too runny and not hard-boiled. I never hesitate to send back eggs that aren't cooked properly. Eggs are an inexpensive ingredient and they need to be perfect. Hollandaise sauce should be warm, subtle, creamy with a slight acidity. Vincent got it right. The steak was cooked perfectly and the omelet was really a french omelet. Light, folded, and delicate. All three dishes were winners and I would return without hesitations. A limited menu allows the staff to focus on fewer items and prepare them really well. Some other places in the neighborhood at the same price point that I won't name...but their initials are BJ has the B-Team for Brunch. I should not have to teach the staff what a properly poached egg is but I digress. read more

1st RED FLAG...they made a HORRIBLE Aperol Sprit! So, declined ANY further beverages for the table. 2nd RED FLAG...ordered appetizers for four...when they arrived...Tasted like they pour TWO tablespoons of salt over the food. Set back to chef it went FURTHER down hill from there. 3rd RED FLAG...all FOUR entrées were EXTREMELY salty so much I could even enjoy the company that we'd hosted. ****This entire experience was EMBARRASSING & would've been better off going to Taco Bel or Arby's! Service: Hard-working, attentive & friendly. When we were there this past weekend, the restaurant & bar were very busy and the staff was doing a great job. Food: Delicious food throughout. The fried squash & onion soup starters were VERY good. We each had the trout entree - also delicious. The seasonal cocktails were spot on! Ambiance: Very loud & very dark. Even with their renovation transforming the previous 2-room space into one large room, Vincent remains a small intimate restaurant. That works well - until the place fills up & management cranks up the music. Then the shouting starts. Then the lights dim low. Then the intimate mood of Vincent is reduced to the soft white glow of lights from patrons' iPhones, trying to read the menu. OK for some, but our table neighbors on both sides were complaining about the dim lighting & crazy noise level. read more

It pains me to write this as it is a super cute, and we had excellent service. But it was the food. Although nothing was bad , nothing stood out either. We started with the mussels, yes mussels again! It is one of my favorite things when done right. To me it just lacked. In seasoning, in garlic. To me to take the bread and soak it in the mussel au jus is everything, and this well it was not. Next we tried the brussel sprouts. Although I prefer them a little more charred than it was presented it was definitely the highlight of the evening. We also tried the bone marrow spaetzle. The portion size was perfect as this was super rich. Think condensed mushroom soup rich with spaetzles. All in all would definitely return for maybe a lovely cheese tray and a bottle of wine. read more

We love this place. We have eaten there twice. Once as a more formal date/night out and once just stopping in for beers and burgers. It works both ways. Super friendly. Great service, fantastic food and a nice selection of drinks. I am not an IPA fan, so I love that the have more than basic lighter beer options. On top of that, the setting is lovely. They clearly want you to enjoy the space as much as the food. It is a small space, so know that going in. If you have concerns about social distancing, this is probably not the spot for you. Even the outdoor space isn't huge. Worth the trip for any vaccinated. read more

I really enjoy coming here for brunch. Sunday funday brunch, then stroll the neighborhood after and continue on with some more DRANKZ at some of the local watering holes. What could be better. They take reservations, aren't overly packed and serve quality food with good service. Great place to come with friends where you can actually hear each other and converse. The chalkboard omelets are always fun and fresh. Pick from various ingredients and enjoy the goodness. The setting is intimate and enjoy the hardwood and tiled interior. Thank you Yelp Eats for introducing me to such a fabulous restaurant! My dinner at Vincent was simply splendid! Our service was suburb! Loved the atmosphere and the interesting Dutch inspired dining options. My friend and I started off with the Pork bitterballen (fried dutch meatballs) for $10. These were extremely tasty and I would get them again in a second. We also order the cheese plate so satisfy my cheese obsession and it turned out to be one of the best I ever had. I sincerely wish I could remember which cheeses we had because they were all so good. The jam, apples, nuts and bread that came along with it were above par as well. I really need to note cheese names as I order these plates so I can become a cheese connoisseur! As my main dish, I had the Zuurkool Stampot Met Worst which was a sausage with mashed potatoes. Very tasty dish! I tried one of my friends mussels and am not a fan of mussels usually but these were quite good! We shared the panna cotta for dessert. Ah.Maze.Ing. I highly recommend this as your dessert choice! It was creamy and cheesy and everything gooey and good. Topped with some blueberries. I loved Vincent! Big hint #1: half-price bottles of wine on Wednesday. Big hint #2: half-price muscles on Tuesday. I came to Vincent tonight with one of my friends we had a lovely waitress from California who had nothing but the sweetest of energy. Her smile went on for days. We started with the charcuterie. They really need to add something more to meat to this board. I know that I have had their charcuterie before where there was a lovely balance of nuts cheese meats with some bread. Our waitress couldn't remember that and honestly I'm pretty sure I've had it because that was one of the reasons why want to come back. Right now as it is the charcuterie is a bunch of different kinds of cured meats and you have to ask for toast points. We then went on to have a half a chicken that had a delicious purée cauliflower and some peppers. It was delicious. I highly recommend. After that we had some dessert which was an ice cream chocolate kind of concoction that was also equally yummy. I will definitely come back and was very happy with the care and kindness of the service of the entire staff. Great job! read more

Here's a quick take on Vincent: Went here for brunch with two special ladies. Got this neat cold brew cocktail with butterscotch that I wish I had on tap in my apartment. The menu was awesome. Really hard to choose. I got a great brunch burger. Some maple goodness on it really did me in. Seemed like a fun place with a really interesting menu. I travel a lot and work in the food and entertainment industry, I have dined at Vincent everytime I am in Chicago for Brunch on Sunday (the Broadway Showtunes Brunch is so fun), Dinner on Thursday and a Friday night. Wed & Thurs. are great for a quiet meal and the staff are so friendly. I frequently see that same staff everytime I visit so clearly management is doing something right with keeping the good ones. The food is elevated but not pretentious and everything is fresh. Other places in Andersonville not the case. Vincent is clearly the best restaurant in the neighborhood. The cocktails are some of the best I tasted that are well balanced with fresh juices and the price point is the same as any restaurant in the area. The only problem is they taste so good, it seems pricing but then you realize you had four or five cocktails. The wine selection is fantastic and unique mostly European varieties from France, Spain, Italy and Austria/Germany. Their glass pours or bottles I can't find in the store because our server informed us that they only work directly with distributors who have direct relations to the small vineyards. I had oysters on the weekend but when I asked for them on a Wed. they didn't have any because they said they only fly them in fresh on weekends. The bread was incredible which they make in house. I also love the live entertainment on Friday nights and Sunday evenings which is free and some of Chicago's top cabaret performers, some who I have seen perform in Palm Springs, on Crystal Symphony Cruises and in New York. My favorite go to in Chicago for a neighborhood, fresh made food and cocktails at a reasonable price point with very personable staff. read more

I love the sophisticated, chill vibe of this dutch-esque American bistro . Whether it's summer and you're enjoying an afternoon cocktail on the sidewalk café or during the holidays, the food is very good, the drinks are very good, and the service is great. I've had omelets for brunch, charcuterie and cheese boards (years before this trend took over the city like the blob), mussels (the Roquefort Pernod choice is killer), juicy burgers and frites, and crazy delicious scallops entrees. Value wise, it's priced for the market. The clientele matches the neighborhood, too, so I feel comfortable. While there are some interesting house cocktails, the classics are also available. After a couple of Rittenhouse Manhattans last time I was here, the rest of the evening got a little blurry. It's that kind of a place. So my girl lives close to this place, but we never tried it until the other night. It has a homey and casual, yet elegant, decor. We started with a couple whisky drinks and they were very great. We ordered the burrata to start, and it was delicious and a perfect serving size for an appetizer. For my entree, I had the cheeseburger (with a fried egg on top) per our servers recommendation and it was pretty good. She had the gnocchi and it was also delicious. Service was alright...but we could have gotten a little more eye contact and attention. Several times we asked for something or tried to order, and we didn't know that he heard us, as he didn't really give us a glance of acknowledgement. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon with one of the worse traffic jams on LSD and we were late for our 1PM reservation. No biggie though because we called and had it pushed back to 1:30PM. But to our surprise, we arrived to an almost barren restaurant. The three of us had all of the attention to ourselves! As we were studying the brunch menu, we were pleasantly greeted by the chef and he allowed us to place an order of curry mussels with frites. It's usually only offered for dinner but he made the exception. The mussels were the highlight of our brunch! It was made with saffron, coconut, garlic, shallot, and lime. The yellowy sauce made it appear curry-like. The flavors, on the other hand, were the complete contrary. Yet despite the subtle curry and coconut flavors, this dish is not to be undermined. In fact, we loved the sauce so much that we wished it was served with bread to dip with. As for the brunch entrees, we ordered the dock worker, grilled lamb burger, and pork belly sandwich. The portions were huge but the contents were downplayed by comparison with the mussels. The dock worker came with a huge, freshly baked croissant and it was magnificent! The grilled lamb burger didn't have any other flavors to it other than being gamey. Although I love how it was served with frites! The pork belly sandwich wasn't as tender and juicy as I had anticipated. In summary, each of the three dishes contained enough calories and fat to knock you out cold had you cleared the plate of its contents. Of course, being the frugal and health-conscience people we are, we shared with each other and saved half our dishes to take in doggy bags. We left Vincent feeling sinfully pleased yet tormented by the amount of fat we had added on. It definitely wasn't a good idea to brunch with skinny jeans. read more
