We talked for 3 hours while she tattooed one of her flashes on my right shin and it was all around pleasant getting to know her. She is so sweet, professional and such a joy to be around. She really took the time to get the placement to my liking, and I'm very happy to have her original work on me. It is so beautiful!!! I love the vibe of the shop as well; very clean, artsy, spacey, and comfortable. They have multiple artists here and everyone is so nice. They have T-shirts, original art pieces among other things for sale too. :) Definitely will return in the future!

Tracy at the front desk was super helpful with check in and my questions about jewelry and what not. My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! "Regarding your wait time, management confirmed it was significantly shorter than stated" - attached are photos at 6:20pm on 4/11/26 aka the time i went in & upon arrival i asked to use the restroom, i took a selfie amongst other pics & the date & time can be found on each one. When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. "we offered appointments at our other locations with free parking lots" - text attached of Tabithas convo but she definitely stated STREET parking, exactly how the LA location is so.. not sure where the "Convenience & Options" were. sorry it came to this Leo, maybe ask both sides next time instead of just listening to one.

It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

He wanted double bands around his forearm and Sam was able to sketch it out and do the tattoo on the same day. We were in and out within 1.5 hours. He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.

Shop is hidden from view and although communicating with the shop was a hassle, I still tried to give it a chance but I should've trusted my gut feeling. This review is going specifically going towards King Afa and I am not sure why he goes by King. I had contacted him for consultation of a sleeve I wanted and I have heard a lot of great reviews from this artist. Word of advice: Trust the reviews rather than the reputation of someone especially a tattoo artist. Worst experience ever. Every low start review about King Afa is true. I'll keep it short and simple. The work he does is great but he definitely steals from his customers. He ALWAYS comes late to all his appointments in which his reviews mention and he charges and rips people off for the least amount of artwork done. How much work did he complete? BARELY ANY not even a half sleeve and charged me over $1k. Worst experience ever! I highly advise every customer who decides to get their work done by him to be aware and make sure you have an exact price quote from him! Artists nowadays do not realize the true meaning of catering to their customers especially when they are spending thousands of dollars. I will make sure all my friends and family in Hollywood knows not to come here. read more

First things first, Joel is the man (he's also the shops latest apprentice). Thank you once again for finishing my traditional/modern Filipino tribal tattoo. From the first consultation to hearing out my ideas, to getting a sketch out, and lastly, to getting it done on my forearm, I couldn't be more happier. Vine St. Tattoo is nestled in a busy little shopping center. Parking can suck, especially because after 6:30, they do valet and you have no choice but to pay if you've left your car parked there. The shop is clean and cozy inside... there's a seating area with a tv where Netflix is usually being played. I met Noel, the shop's owner, and King Afa, during my back to back sessions to get my piece done. Each one has their respective area. When it came down to getting my work done, everything was done with carefulness and cleanliness. I even observed it when watching other clients getting work done by the other two artists. I plan on coming back to get more work done in the near future. The staff you guys have is awesome and I can vouch for not feeling pressured or out of place. Keep up the amazing work. read more

just got home after an all day appointment with Noel, Not only he is a true student of the art of tribal tattoo, he is extremely talented, prompt, every email was answered in a timely manner he is very patient and eager to please, but knows when it's time for his input to stand. He put together an unreal piece for me, and worked all day to get it done, because i have limited time and another session would be months away Noel finished it for me same day!. The tattoo had to have certain essential elements , the main theme had to work with three different cultures and he was able to put it all together tastefully, without omitting any details... Ambiance in the shop was great I learned a lot about tattoos while being worked on as they had all kinds of documentaries on history of tattoos playing on the big screen it made my time go by much faster.... Noel was my tattoo artist and he did an excellent job on it. I got a Polynesian style tribal wrist cuff covering a small band of numbers. The detail from my sketch is on point and the symmetry is flawless. It didn't seem like it took a long time because he had a movie playing but it was a great distraction. Restaurants around the shop include Cuban, Thai, Japanese, Mediterranean, and Vegan cuisine as well as pizza and a large parking lot in Hollywood! I was actually referred to THS by multiple people so I looked into them and found Endry. His work really impressed me and my boyfriend who was also a tattoo artist back in the day. So I booked an appt to have a very simple roman numeral tattoo done under my collarbone. The booking process was actually very easy and the shop worked with me. There's a $200 minimum and there's a $100 deposit that you Venmo before the appointment is made. I honestly found the booking process super smooth and easy. If you can find it, there's metered parking right in front of the shop which is super convenient. I honestly love the vibe of this place. Endry was so kind and welcoming and made my first tattoo the best experience it could've been (also want to note I have a needle phobia so this is a legit compliment). I have since seen Endry multiple times for more extensive work. Endry is truly an incredible artist who really puts care and consideration into each piece. You can tell he really cares about his craft and I have so much respect for that. Working with him has been a pleasure and I look forward to my next session with him. I actually recently got my forearm done with a beautiful fine line floral wrap and I am still in awe at the photorealistic detail in the flowers. Showed him a few AI examples and he had me send him one that he/we thought looked cool. I didn't really put a ton of thought into it just figured "sure. Do your thing with it." I probably should've noticed the AI flaw in the stencil, but, as my regular artist pointed out, he definitely should have noticed, especially since he had the original photo. A little miscommunication but oh well. On top of that it's really really light so I'm going to have to have my normal artist fix it and touch it up. I wasn't even going to leave a review because it's partly my fault, and I don't really care that much, but like my normal artist pointed out, he's supposed to notice these kind of things. Then I realized the only reason I don't really care is because it's somewhere not normally visible. If it was on my arm I would be horrified. Other than that, they were cool, the booking process was easy, and reasonably priced. Also the shop was super clean which is important to me so 3-stars

I wanted simple scribe on my neck and apparently traditional tattoo artists only do visible tattoos if you have more... and I have five. Sure that's fine, but with that came a mini lecture about what I'm deciding to put on my body. Telling me to wait a week without asking how long this has been on my mind. It went into as far as telling to consider how I'm profiled in society because of a neck tattoo. I'm a Black Queer Man living in America. Although well intended, I don't need someone at the peek of the social totem pole telling me about being "profiled" in this country. Again, really don't have an issue with refusing to do the service. I know it was well intended. But I don't need a tone deaf conversation when I'm calling to get a quote on a tattoo.

When I arrive to her studio, the artist's assistant informed me that the tattoo artist I was booked with was not going to be coming in at all for a "personal reason". I shed a few tears after leaving, and once I was feeling a bit better I set off to find another tattoo artist to do my tattoo. Not shockingly, not many artists are open for last minute appointments on a busy Saturday in Los Angeles! When I called High Seas Tattoo Parlor I was delighted to find out that they accepted walk-ins and could get me in that day! I'm not going to lie- I was super nervous. The tattoo I wanted is something deeply personal and important to me, and I waited 6 years until I allowed myself to get it because it represents a major part of my life. So having a tattoo artist I spent months looking for not show up for it, and going to a studio where I didn't know who would be doing my tattoo set my teeth on edge a bit. Let me tell you, I had NO reason to worry! All of the employees and artists at High Seas Tattoo Parlor were so kind and instantly made me feel so at ease. My tattoo artist, Niko, was so wonderful and personable, and I felt all my anxiety melt away. He was super attentive when I explained the design I had in mind, and was eager to lend his expertise on positioning and composition. The sketch that he brought me was perfect on first draft- I couldn't take my eyes off of it! Niko had a super light hand while tattooing me, and kept up wonderful conversation. I found out that he grew up where I live, and he was so attentive and kind. The tattoo itself is gorgerous, and I catch myself just staring at it even after almost a week of having it! I seriously and truly believe that being canceled on by my original artist was a complete gift from the universe so that I could be led to Niko and the High Seas Parlor so that I could get the tattoo that I've been dreaming about for years. I had to wait a year to get my appointment because of how talented Bryan Ramirez is. I walked in, very hyped up, with a tiny 3x4 old ID picture of my father. Bryan treated the image on his computer, expanded it, and kept in touch throughout the process. After a few visits, he carefully listened to my project vision, embraced it, and, most importantly, provided real feedback about size, positioning, and expectations. I have a few other tattoos from multiple artists, and I can confidently say the level of service and quality here is top notch. The previous artists weren't even close to this level of skill. The day I showed up for my session, I felt heard and taken care of. Bryan paused whenever I communicated that I needed a break, and the project was finished in a few hours. Everyone at the shop was really nice too! The vibes were immaculate and the artists do this thing where they show all the other artists their finished pieces and I thought that was so cute. Her rate is 150/hr so I would book that appointment before her rates go up!!!!! Thanks Mia love u!!!

So many places can give off an ick vibe especially for 3 girls. Every single person in this shop went out of their way to make us feel safe and at ease!! They not only did an absolute amazing job on our tattoos but I think we laughed and had amazing conversations the entire time we were there!!! John and Pedro did our tattoos but Sean was checking in on all of us the whole time making sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. If you want great tattoo artists, an excellent vibe and some amazing smelling candles (courtesy of Sean lol) I would highly recommended going here.

I'm vegan and wanted to be consistent. So, I searched online and found James Spooner. I live in Bay Area and e-mailed James. He responded quickly to my e-mails and right off the bat I knew I picked the right artist because he was so nice and offered suggestions to help give me the best tattoo possible. He e-mailed me the design and it was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. During my appointment I was so nervous because it was my first tattoo, but James made me feel very comfortable. I really loved the way the tattoo turned out and have received compliments for it. I highly recommend James and this tattoo shop.
