    Queso, babie!
    Joyce W.

Queso is one of the world's most perfect foods. What's there to not love about queso? It's queso! Think about it! It's warm, gooey, cheesy, and coats your insides. When it comes to queso, I become Ariana Grande: I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it. On one particular evening, I wanted some wings and chips with queso. I haven't been to this Vine so I figured I'd stop in for some takeout. After grabbing my food and taking it home, I was disappointed to see the size of those wings. These must have been the wings of a pigeon or something. Such dainty bites for full-price! And it seemed like they took two normal sized celery sticks and chopped them into six pieces. They're stingy with portion sizes. The sauces on the wings were standard too. As for the queso and chips, these were decent. At least I got a video clip for my Instagram. All in all, Vine is beloved staple here but I don't think I'll be popping in again to get my chicken wing cravings satisfied.

    The perfect wing

Been eating at this location for over 20 years. Dining here weekly for the past decade. Why?? For the incredibly crispy, tender, tasty, and SMALL chicken wings that you cannot get anywhere else in town. They recently switched their wings to a larger variety. While still a decent wing and well prepared they are now just like everywhere else and I am sure full of growth hormones etc. resulting in a less tender meat. Not nearly as crispy or tasty. Our group is headed elsewhere tonight for our weekly meetup for the first time in a decade. I am sure we will still be back at the vine someday but those tiny wings are no longer the draw for us. Please put them back on the menu. Maybe you could offer two wing options? Small and large. These small wings were a big reason many of your regulars come so often. I posted a couple pictures of the smallest wings I found over the years. RIP little fellas

This place is pretty good. I ordered the French dip. The serving size was pretty small but the flavor was good. I wouldn't order it again though because for the price the size is way to small. My friend ordered the Ruben and said it was really good. He got bacon cheese fries with it and they were really good.

During the World Cup series, they had some drink specials. Both times I took advantage of the specials. I got the Stella Artois ($6) and a Nutrl Peach Lemonade ($6). For food, each time I had some sort of nacho dish: Asian Chicken Nachos ($14.79 - Crispy wonton chips topped with Thai chili garlic fried chicken, sesame ginger sauce, mozzarella cheese, green onion and toasted sesame seeds): These were fun to eat. The crispy wontons stayed crispy all 90 minutes + extra of the game. The fried chicken is just a cut up chicken tender but it's okay. Green Chile Pork Nachos ($16.99 - Slow, tender-roasted green chili pulled pork on top of tortilla chips. Topped with onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, twin cheeses, guacamole and sour cream. No meat is $10.29): I shared this with the table and they were delicious! I could have used more cheese but who doesn't? We love cheese! Great place in general to catch a game. There are plenty of tables and seating and the menu is far more generous than the typical sports bar. I like this place.

The totchos were great, I ate more than my stomach appreciated. My husband ordered a fried chicken sandwich with marinara and a cold beer. I did not ask him how his meal was, but his sandwich disappeared pretty quickly so im assuming it was tasty. The woman running trivia was delightful, with a fantastically dry sense of humor. At one point she mentioned she once got to see Prince and touched his ankle. Long story short, I have now touched the hand that touched Prince's ankle. We made it through 7 rounds of trivia and somehow WON! A crowning achievement of year 37 of my life, for sure. This win earned us: a $25 gift certificate to the lovely Sawtooth Bar & Grill establishment, a rubber ducky of our choosing, a crystal pendant (optional), and 1 week of ownership of the trivia night trophy . We did not trust ourselves to remember to bring back the trophy, and I did not trust some of the fellas to bring it back in one piece, so the bar staff graciously took custody of it until next week's trivia night. The bar itself is super cozy. Nice low lighting, small place but you don't feel cramped. Lots of TVs and a few arcade games. My husband and his BFF frequent this spot and tell me wonderful things about the owner. With the decor, setup, menu and general ambience, it feels like a Midwestern bar more than one in AZ. All in all, I really enjoyed myself and will happily return for another trivia night. If the staff ever happens upon this review, I apologize for the conjoined twins that are my husband and his best friend Scott. They're like a couple of labradors out on a play date when they're together. Thanks again for the fantastic evening, Sawtooth!

Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. This is a really chill brewery, and not a huge spot. Maybe 8 to 10 high top tables with bar seating, and a mostly open floor plan. They have a small patio too, with what looks like about another tables but because I visited at night, nobody was outside. They also seem to be extremely dog friendly as they had one table with a really chill cocker spaniel completely laid out on his side in the middle of the floor. I'm not sure how many taps they had in total, but definitely more than 40 I would say. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I ordered a cider. The cider I was served was on tap and really tasty. And it definitely hit the spot of terms of price point. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner/manager of the tipsy cactus (shout to him because he was really cool), he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping so I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future, especially if I'm hitting one of the food trucks parked outside.

It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.
