At arrival no one greeted us. Outside was karaoke, making this feel more like a $1 beer bar than a wine country experience. The tasting is 10$!!! For 8 pre picked samples, smallest pours we've seen so far in MI aaaaannnnndddd you have to pay another dollar to purchase the glass. Hopefully you weren't hoping to sample any of the other wines on the menu, because it'll cost you another 1.50 per tiny pour! Lastly the wine wasn't even that good. There are so many places to try around this area. My advice is to skip and stay longer in the surrounding wineries. read more

Went there last Friday. Not very welcoming and no direction from staff. I had the firestone pizza and one of their wines. Pizza wasn't anything special. Some parts of the crust was burned and when I say burned. I mean black. Ugg. Within about an hour after having two glasses of wine. I got a killer headache. I will never drink their wine again. After reading the excellent reviews and taking note of the simple but well rounded menu, my husband and I intentionally made this our last stop on our winery visits for the day hoping to enjoy a snack before going home for dinner. Unfortunately, we were EXTREMELY disappointed. To begin, tastings were quite pricey. $10 for a tasting of 8 PRE SELECTED wines sounds wonderful. However, this is only if you enjoy all sugary/sweet wines (I believe there were only 2 wines on there with a RS of 0%). Clearly, they chose their cheapest made wines for this option. If you like to pick your own wines, or would rather not sip your way to a sure hangover from sugar, then you are forced to go with the a la carte option ($1.50 per 1 oz pour), or a $15 flight (4 3oz pours; 2 flights would be the equivalent of a $30 bottle-YIKES). We chose to split a flight, as well as order a charcuterie board. Apparently, this is where the customer service decided to take a back seat. While our server did pour our tastings pretty quickly, we waited 50 minutes for a charcuterie board (YES-50 minutes for a board with cut up cheese, meat, and crackers), and did not see our server again until another server came to see if we needed anything. At first, we did not mind the wait as we were simply enjoying our time. We had finished our flight and even decided to order a glass each. However, when we noticed couples coming in at least a half hour after us ordering and RECEIVING their wood fired oven pizza before we even saw our server again, that's when we became slightly frustrated. By no means was the place crowded. We came in on a Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. There was a bachelorette party of 5 people, and then various couples. Maybe 20 patrons in total, and 4 employees working as servers. There is no excuse for the length of time it took to receive a board of meat and cheese (which, to add, did not match the menu description). Only after another server asked if we needed anything did our original server realize we were still there, at which point she finally came over and apologized for the delay. They did take the food off our bill at the end, which is why I decided to give them 2 stars instead of 1. However, completely inexcusable for a slow Friday. I am doing a winery tour with friends (total of 9 people) in November, and was sure this would be a definite stop on our list due to the amazing patio and large indoor space. However, after this visit, I am crossing it off our list and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

My husband and I were in Benton Harbor for a wedding and wanted to check out one of the many wineries in the area. Since I take forever to get ready and my husband was starving, he went to a place called Wings, Etc nearby and happened to meet the owner of Vineyard 2121 and his wife (Jeff & Deb), and they invited us to check out their place. What a great experience we had for our first time at a winery! The woman who served us, I can't remember her name, was so very nice and was actually excited we'd never been to a winery. Then Jeff the owner took over and was so accommodating and happily shared his knowledge. We had such a great time! Everyone that worked there clearly enjoyed their job, which speaks volumes. Overall we had a pleasant time at 2121. The space is pretty large and the sound travels a little too well, so you feel like you are shouting at times. It looks like the outdoor section would be awesome here in the summer! We came on quite a rainy afternoon and did not get the chance to experience this, but I'll be back again to give it a try! The wine here is pretty diverse, from dry's to desserts the staff is also very friendly! They all seem to make their way around to your table and greet you and ensure you are having a great time. There is also a lot of seating at this winery which is definitely something to be appreciated. The only reason for the loss of a star is the food quality. The menu is very limited and paninis seem to be the common item for lunch. Unfortunately, they are so large and buttery I could only finish half, and it really was not satisfying at all. The hummus is served with tortilla chips rather than the typical table cracker which was also not well received. Everything is served on plastic. Food should be colorful at wineries, this was bland and confusing. read more

Our first time and our last. We arrived and found a place at the center bar. We ordered our wine and some food. Was told our food would be brought outside. Found a spot and started to relax and enjoy our wine. We then waited, and waited. We checked on our food and was told a couple big parties had pre-ordered so our food would be out soon, hmmm if they pre-ordered then did you not make enough? Being told our food would be right out, you would think it was in it's way. We then waited, and waited and had already finished our wine. So, proceeded to tell them to refund us because we are leaving. This is when they turned rude and disrespectful. If they had explained when we ordered the food it would take a while, we would have understood. But nothing was said, and the so called manager (Anna) decided to get rude with us because we decided to cancel our order. There was no sorry or any apology. Communication is key and there was none. Then, we did get upset and as the manager was being rude I asked for her manager. She came out and proceeded to continue the rudeness. We are the customer and the manager sucked at her job, we told her that and was then told to get out. They were busy and seemed under staffed, but as a customer tell me what's going on. The delay in food, and don't keep promising if you can't deliver. The attitudes of both managers, Anna and Anna's manager speaks to how each need a lesson in customer service. I will say it to them again, they suck at handling issues. I will never step foot into this poor excuse for a business again. read more

This place was a lucky find for our group. I regularly drive the wine trail with friends and this will come a not to miss spot. We loved the cider. Each of us found a wine that we really liked. The Cab Franc and surprisingly the blush (which I normally would never try, but my friends were raving about it) were very good. We sampled their entree that was on special and it was very good. We liked that they offer a generous meat and cheese tray for a good price, but it can also be ordered as just cheese for my vegetarian friends. I can't wait to come back for the wine slushies when the weather warms up. The grounds are very pretty and I look forward to having a picnic while enjoying their wine. I usually come here often but I had the worst experience ever here . The owners I would say, had just a tad too much to drink , which in my opinion, they shouldn't be drinking on the job during business hours. I took a group of friends & co workers here & I felt soo humiliated with the way they treated my guests . From the beginning to the ending (I was just thinking they were having a bad day & it was gonna get better but even other patrons watched and even apologized to us for their service. Profanity was used & bc of one of my friends complained about their for in a professional way, and it went down the hill from there & they asked us to just leave & NEVER come back & even slammed a to go container to one of my coworkers....I think they realized what they did & tried to ask us to come back as we left. Second time here...it's been around 1.5 years. Nice, friendly owners work behind counter and kitchen. Good selection of wine and kitchen options. Nice outdoor area with live musician when we were here. Nice quiet spot to stop by. Other area vineyards can get crowded and lack the friendly, stay for a while touch. Staff was very friendly. Good selection of different wines for tasting. They have a back patio looking over the vineyard which is really nice. If you're hungry, they have some food items as well. My boyfriend and I got the cheese platter which was a very nice snack. On Sundays from 2-6 pm they have live music on the back patio and sangria. The live music is nice - mostly covers, not too loud, and you can still have a conversation while the music is playing. read more

I came back to Vineyard 2121 for Mother's Day with my mom expecting what I experienced the first two times - great wine, atmosphere, interactive and helpful staff, and being able to try a variety of wines. While the person who helped us was pleasant, and the environment is always on point, it was overshadowed by their new tasting options. At 2121, You pay $6 to try ONE type of wine (dry, semi-sweet, sweet or fruit wine) Within that category you are given 4 pre-selected wines. I have been to MANY wineries along the Southwest Michigan wine trail and I have never experienced this....maybe I've been lucky?? My mom and I both appreciate a variety of wine, so this was not a good option for either of us. The only other option? To purchase a flight of 4 wines in any category (2oz each) for $15. With driving onto the next winery and being on some sort of schedule, we really didn't want to quickly drink the equivalent of 2 glasses of wine. We would rather have had a smaller pour (1oz or less) with a larger variety of wines, than be forced to try only one variety or drink the whole flight. With their higher cost for tastings compared to many of the wineries surrounding them, the lack of variety in their tasting options, and a long list of amazing wineries nearby, I wouldn't bother coming back for that type of experience. For people who only want one type of wine, this review is likely irrelevant, but for those who are looking for variety, take note. The redeeming drink of the day was their "Wino-Rita" slushie. If you like Wine and Margaritas, skip the lame tasting situation and get yourself the "Wino-Rita" and be on to the next winery....12 Corners is right up the road, and I highly recommend it! read more

Happened to stop for the first time at harvest festival. Paid 10 dollars each for three small tastings of flat bland wine. We've lived in Michigan for decades and have traveled the many wine trails many times without disappointment until this stop. Even though it wasn't any busier than the other wineries (which says something given it was a festival day), no one took the time to greet us at the bar. They poured the tiny tastes of wine and walked away. We stayed maybe10 minutes and left disappointed and empty handed other than the free glasses they didn't even bother to put in a small bag, like all others do. Will never return. Maybe they treat their friends and acquaintances better? Best advice? Go to twelve corners or make the trip to St. Julian's. Excellent and the prices are much better for better quality wine and the staff is awesome and helpful. read more

This winery is awesome! A group of us went there once on a word of mouth recommendation and we are all now hooked. The owners are so warm and accommodating and ensure each time we go that our needs are met and that the service is nothing short of spectacular. It doesn't hurt that the wine and food are super yummy. Try one of their charcuterie plates, that offer a little bit of everything to snack on while you sip your wine and take in the beautiful views all while listening to live music. I saw 2 reviews that spoke about poor service for their group, bad wine and disgusting bathrooms. This is just not true. We were there the same day as this group and unfortunately they were extremely rude and offensive to everyone around them. The bathrooms are always well maintained and the service has never been anything but stellar. This group was asked to leave due to their foul language and for bringing in their own alcohol which is against the law. It was unfortunate that this happened, however what the group missed was the rest of the crowd that day at the winery applauding their departure. Awesome tasting bar with a personable staff. Whether it is just tasting, sampling or wanting to pair great wines with food; Vineyard 2121 is worth the journey for any size of group. Many times the owner can be found waiting on visitors along with the staff. They have a lovely patio area in which you can continue to sip samples & tastings or, with glass in hand, enjoy wine with some of the aged cheeses and other foods offered. This is by far my favorite winery in the area. I am a local and when I want amazing wine, delicious slushies, tasty food or just a great cider and a nice atmosphere, I come here. The owners are always great and even though we aren't wine club members, they treat us excellent. The Blush wine is my favorite, the Cherry Cider is tasty and all of the slushies are delicious. My boyfriend and I visited several wineries on a Saturday and this was one of my favorites. The inside is big and open and has a circular bar that was neat. A small bus of people arrived right before us but we will still promptly greeted and the types of tastings were explained. There was a preselected tasting for $10 that included a variety of dry and sweet wines. My bf chose this option. Since I don't care for dry wines I chose the ala carte samples for $1.50 each. I sampled a variety of sweet wines and ciders and enjoyed every single one. During our tasting a large group of very rowdy people came in. Despite the large, loud group, the gal pouring our drinks kept up great with the patrons at the bar. (Although I did feel sorry for the young girl waiting on a large table!) We ended up taking several bottles of wines and ciders home and definitely look forward to visiting this winery again when we are in the area. 2121 is probably my least favorite winery in the MI area. The service was extremely poor and the owner was very pompous & arrogant. The bathrooms were filthy and the toilets overflowing with urine & feces creating a fowl stench throughout the winery. The wine tasted like vinegar and was more like over priced ripple. We loved this place until our recent visit with friends. Horrible service!!! Anna(the manager)and the rude woman above her need jobs where they do not work with the public. We ordered food and waited and waited. We asked several times what the issue was and Anna kept saying it was because a large group had preordered. Well if they had preordered then it should have been made already and other people who came in after us should not have gotten their food before us. Anna copped a real bad attitude right off the bat and I told her she sucked at being a manager because she could not handle the situation. She told us to "get the hell out". She then went back and got the other lady who came out with such aggression and jumped all over us without even knowing the whole story. She even yelled at my friend for trying to point out who the manager was that we were having the problem with as if not to let the other customers know. Not one of them apologized for not us getting our food, it was aggression all of the way. This situation would not have escalated if Anna and this other supervisor would have been up front about the delay, apologized and were able to handle the situation better. read more

Only got a one star because I couldn't give it zero. Rude staff. We went in to do tastings. If you aren't buying a flight or pizza, they don't want to waste any time on you. We were told they only do tastings at the bar, but there weren't any seats at the bar. First server said she would make room at the bar, then never came back. 2nd one found out what we wanted went back to the first one - seriously..if you want to give out an exasperated sigh and roll your eyes out of disgust at our desire to do the 1 oz tastings, you probably shouldn't do it when you are standing 5 feet away from me! Sadly, we may very well have wanted to order the pizza once we did some tastings, but apparently, we weren't the clientele they were looking for. Won't be back. Ever. read more

We stopped at 2121 as our 3rd stop of our wine tour. We had reservations and were planning on eating lunch here. This was BY FAR the worse of all the wineries we visited on our lovely weekend. The customer service in this place is non-existent and the owner was the WORST at trying to help the situation. We were all hungry and ready to order within 10 minutes of arriving. It took some people in our party over an hour to receive their food. The place was not even half full. They brought out all of our food a different times and we never got the appetizers we had ordered. We had to push back the reservations we had at the other 2 wineries on our trip to accommodate the issues caused by this place. Needless to say, we all left unhappy and nobody had any interest in buying ANYTHING from this place. Worst customer service I've ever experienced, especially by an owner/manager. She did not try at all to make the awful experience better, in any way... instead walked away as someone in our party was trying to calmly explain to her what the problems were. Was just OK. Beautiful setup and tasting area, but I am a fan of RED wine. Found one on the flight list that was just OK.

The wine here is great, the selection is versatile and delicious! Jim has been our pourer the last few times and he makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Excited for the coming soon selections this summer. read more
