Absolutely love their pizza! Thin crust.... Delicious sauce.... Family favorite... best pizza around!

The people that work here are miserable assholes! My wife grew up eating here so she loves to order their food, but every time I pick up the food they act like I'm bothering them by ordering from them!! They almost always mess up my dish (cavatelli & broccoli), either they won't crumble the sausage, or they'll give me red sauce and throw two pieces of sausages on it. HORRIBLE SERVICE! They're so rude. I ordered a large cheese pizza 20 minutes before I got there. I get there and they gave it to someone who just walked in and ordered; right in front of me. But told me I had to wait he's putting it in now. I understand the mix up sometimes which would've been fine. But they weren't nice about it. Rude! They're pizza is really good. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but something has to be said about this place! First I go in and the to-go food that I ordered was poorly wrapped in tin foil, so that it would get cool instantly. The people were rude and very confrontational, everything that I asked was a hassle to answer or get me. I finally get the food home and its horrible! The salad was brown and soggy, the chicken pram was fatty chicken with wet yet stale bread. The only thing I can say was the calzone was ok. This is not the worst yet, with in an hour of eating their food, both my coworker and I were sick with stomach ache. DO NOT EAT THERE!! You will be giving your money to a jerk and guarantying your self a night of stomach pains! I would of given negative 3 stars if possible read more

The food is great good taste quality fresh beautifully served. The atmosphere unfortunately not the best very dingy foggy gloomy place not best furniture a little upgrade would do a lot of good. The service is not the best the waitress look angry and confused not smiling and not very attentive to the costumers more like a truck driver dinner stop kind of service. Can't get enough of this place. My husband and i love the old feel of this great establishment never get a bad meal here. Husbands favorite is the veal and peppers. I give 5 stars for the Pizza. Hands Down, my favorite. I prefer it to Pepe's/The Spot pizza. Thin crust. rich sauce. just enough cheese, not too much. The customer service is terrible. Bad attitudes in the front of the house as well as the back of the house. But I keep going back for the pizza, even if I don't go for a couple of years, I still have to return. Been going there on and off for 30 years... I'll still go back and you should too, just be warned that you don't eat at Vinny's for the hospitality or ambiance. If you want amazing authentic Italian food with no frills then this is your place! There's nothing fancy about this restaurant - just 5 star Italian food. My 2 favorite dishes are the baked eggplant & chicken Francese. Would recommend this place to everyone who likes yummy food. Good news bad news here. So I've heard great things about the pizza here and finally got to give it a try.  First the good...we had a large mooz.  Very good.  Reminded me a lot of some of my old favorite West Haven style places.  More New York than New Haven. Nice char on the crust and over all a really good pie.  Here's were it goes south...in a hurry.  We also ordered a small pepperoni.  This pie was obviously pre cooked...probably a no show order that sat around and got cold.  Pepperoni was then thrown on it and it was reheated.  Crunchy, and over cooked...except for the undercooked pepperoni that sat fearfully on the hot cheese below . What an incredible let down.  What can I say...I was excited to try this place, the large was great...but the small was a despicable nonquality hunk of reheated swill.  Half of me wants to go back...the other half feels completely ripped off. 4 stars for one pizza and 0 for the other. Yes the place looks like it could use a facelift. I get that. It doesn't look as fancy as Vazzy's or Massimo's. But it does have good food. I'd rather have good food over a fancy interior! The pizza is great! The dinners are huge portions- almost too huge for one person! Especially if you get a seafood pasta meal! My boyfriend grew up with this place and it's become a dear memory for him. The whole staff knows him and his parents! They were just as welcoming to me too! Nicest people working there! Try the calamari! It was super tasty and not that nasty rubber texture you get when it's not made properly! Oh and if you don't get a pizza for dinner order a small one to take home! My boyfriend always has the best ideas! We'll be going there until we move this year! My boyfriend already talks about how much he misses it! We haven't left yet! read more

I checked in for the first time since the COVID-19 virus caused most businesses to close. When I visited this restaurant, the only safety precaution was a piece of plexiglass in front of the register. There were 6 guys in close proximity to each other behind the counter prepping orders. No one was wearing a mask or gloves. The cashier was handling cash, then assembling orders. No hand washing. It's obvious they do not know how to handle food safely, and should be shut down until they learn how to protect their customers. read more

Gross! Gross! Gross!! To be completely honest the food is good, however it is completely disgusting!!! I've been going since I was a little girl and the place has gone down hill. There's dead flys all over the window sill, roaches and I smelt the most horrifying smell of vomit while I was eating!! The place is gross! I really liked the pizza ... I wouldn't go here to eat but it's a good pizza take out place! Not impressed with the antipasto salad ... chicken parm was ok nothing to brag about . I would stick to just pizza next time I order. read more

I have been going to Vinny's since they opened in the 70's. The food is very reasonably priced, and it's like an Italian momma use to make. You are not going there to see slick decor or get great customer service. That is not Vinny's. The focus is on food. Place your order, eat great food that is reasonably priced and leave. Some of my favorite pizza in the area. They are a little more expensive than other places but I think the extra few dollars is worth it. Thin crust pizza with a tasty sauce. I'm a classic man so pepperoni is always a must here. Their chicken Francaise is terrific. Nice pieces of meat with a good pasta. I think their meatballs are just ok but not bad. We've been to Vinny's many times. Although I think their pizza is very good and better than most places, their employees and owners could be a little more customer friendly. Best Italian food you can get around and for a decent price. Vinny's is a restaurant with character. It's not your chain pizza restaurant and the food will remind you of that fact. Tender thin crispy crust, best olive oil, wine vinegar, meats, fresh veggies and especially the tomatoes they use for their sauce that tastes better than your mother's. Try it. Vinny's is not a fast food restaurant. Some dishes may take longer due to their fresh ingredients and preparation. So, have some wine and beer and chill for heaven's sake. Your chicken parm will come out when it's done and it's worth the wait to have it all breaded and cooked fresh. I have to eat here once a week...We usually get a simple grated cheese pizza just to savor the fabulous sauce on the oh so delicious crust. read more

First time at Vinny's today for a late lunch (2ish)...only 2 other people in the place so I can't comment on service during the busy periods but our waitress was lovely. The man behind the counter as we walked in was very friendly as well. As to the décor, this place is 1970's ...with the wood paneling, formica tables and booths, but it is very clean..they even have RC Cola for Pete's sake. But on to what is important..the food...had a small pepperoni pizza and it was excellent, great crust, great sauce...we took home a meatball grinder to split for a late dinner and that too was very very good. Simply the best pizza you will find in the area. Thin crust and a great taste. Prices here are really afordable. Two people can have an anti pasta, small pizza and a pitcher of beer for under $25. Not sure what I ever liked about this place as a kid....maybe just the company I was with. Anyways, went here a few weeks ago for dinner with a total of 10 people. That witch of a waitress (the mean old hag who has been there forever) had our table and was rude the moment we walked through the door. She was pissed off because we needed another 2 seats because there were only 8 and she basically told us that we were all too fat and need to slide down more because she can't very well add another table. OK, whatever lady. We go on to order and she is rolling her eyes at everything we're ordering. Gets to me, I ask for a peppers and eggs grinder. I asked her if they had egg whites and without looking up she says "you're lucky you even get eggs at all". I was dumbfounded. About 20 minutes passes and everyone gets their meals except for me. Everyone is done and I finally track her down and she just says, "Oh the chef forgot to make your sandwich". Whatever lady. So god damn rude. The place is disgusting, I wish I never went back. Skip it and go to Tony's, Vazzy's or Testo's. This place is the pits. read more
