Meet friends after work. not crowded, we were a tabkevof 7, I ordered a Moscow Mule and order of fries, 35 minutes for the drink and 50 minutes for the fries. I told them to cancel the fries because I planned on staying 1 hour, but she said they were coming and they did 3 minutes later. My 1 coworker didn't even receive a drink because it was 40 minutes and just really stopped to say hi. Another coworker left after waiting 45 minutes for pretzels, so she just money to pay for have to the table. The last coworker sent the Apple Martin back it was thick like cough syrup, they remade it PERFECT VERY GOOD, but she ordered another and it was like the first. The inside was hit so we set outside but you can't here the music. Overall not a good experience. Oh my Mule was good

Great place to go especially during the summers! They have a large patio out back with their own bar. They have a lot of brunch options (11-3 pm).

Tropical Wednesdays. Salsa/ Bachata night and cucumber martinis. The cucumber martini tastes like a cranberry Jolly Rancher. Delish! Staff are hardworking at their craft. Food is decent depending on nights. They open patio windows in Summer. There is a back patio. I have not been drinking back there. It looks nice. I prefer the dance floor.

There is nothing more necessary than a solid happy hour deal to drive away the work week scaries. That is why I was so disappointed with Vintage Lounge and my experience there. Came with a few friends to enjoy some happy hour food and drink specials after work. Was told by our waiter that there were $2 beers on draft and food specials. Confirmed multiple times with our waiter which beers were happy hour prices throughout our time there, and ordered those particular beers. Also got the Monday burger special (because who can beat a $5 dollar meal???). The waiter asked what side we wanted (tots or fries) when we all ordered and we just assumed that fries came with if we were being asked. NOPE. Was there for ~2 hrs, and felt like our table barely got serviced (even though it was hot very busy). Had to physically go to the bar to ask about our food and drinks at one point. When it did come out, the burger was nothing special (pretty dry and tasteless). But got charged non-happy hour prices for all beers and $6 additional each burger order for fries (so $11 total for the burger + fries). I feel like we got scammed, and will personally never be back again for mediocre service and food.

Hmm where do I begin. Our order was a glass of Guinness draft and Blue Moon draft. Our server notified us that they were out of blue moon. So we changed our order to Samuel Adams. Our server comes back with only 2/3 of the glass filled, letting us know that samuel adams is out, BUT will be restocked in a minute. Server said she will refill the glass when it is ready. It was never ready and we were served a random beer selection and was charged full price for the first glass. Will not return.

Great place to watch the Bears on Sunday. Food was good and the atmosphere was great. Lots of bears fans and TVs. Crab cake Benedict was delicious and the berries on the Brunch Cinni-mini's were fresh.

The food was also some of the best pasta I've had in my life! The meatball appetizer was incredible - tender meatballs with a simple savory tomato sauce. For pasta, I ordered the truffle mafaldine. The salty, truffle umami was so delicious and the noodles were perfectly al dente. After briefly mentioning we were at Gilt to celebrate a special event, the waiter shortly brought out gelato on the house. We got the mango gelato and it was so refreshing!! This meal was worth every cent and more. Cannot recommend Gilt enough.

Service was top tier. 9.5/10. They genuinely cared about making things right when something went wrong. Our server even covered the forgotten Espresso Martini. The Chocolate Martini (9.5/10) tasted creamy and chocolatey and was dangerously easy to drink. The French Martini (9/10) was fruity and smooth. The Espresso Martini (7/10) was better than a lot I've tried but could've been sweeter and foamier. The Prosecco (9/10) was fantastic. The Fried Chicken Sliders (8/10) were crispy, juicy, and perfectly coated in Nashville hot sauce without being overly spicy or drenched in sauce. The bread was a little firm, which reminded me of Parker house rolls from Trivoli. The Onion Rings (7/10) were crispy and oily with a nice spicy mayo. The Truffle Mafaldine (8/10) was unfortunately room temp, but the al dente pasta, creamy sauce, and truffle bits were heavenly. The Steak & Ale Pot Pie (9/10) was fantastic. Tender brisket, flaky crispy puff pastry, and creamy mash underneath made it feel like short ribs and mash in pie form. The Prime Rib French Dip (8.5/10) had tender, flavorful meat, but the bread was pretty plain and needed more crunch. The Chocolate Layer Cake (6/10) was a little dry and not quite chocolatey enough at first, but it got much better drenched in the hot fudge and paired with the vanilla gelato. Interestingly, when I had the leftover cake straight from the fridge the next morning, it was perfectly moist and much more chocolatey. Overall, great time with amazing cocktails, top-tier service, and solid food. Definitely coming back with a reservation to experience the dining room or library.

That said, this place just completely disappointed. The food was just not good. I had the burger sliders and for $9 a piece you expect them to be something special. They were not. Overcooked with a little sauce and two pickles slapped on the bun with a tiny little dab of fake cheese - it was like a bad and way more expensive version of McDonald's. The onion rings were the frozen crumbly kind not the fresh beer battered kind and so that's a big "no!" for me. The dipping sauce was okay. Service was friendly and I think the guy was new but it wasn't good enough for a place like that at the top of the building. There were two servers so I'm guessing one was training maybe. They didn't make it to my table to check to see if everything was okay while I was eating and it even took them a while to notice that I was done eating. It's was slow so I don't think they were stressing with too many tables. That kind of place should knock your socks off - but it was on the low end of mediocre. I wouldn't go there again for food. Maybe it's a decent place to go to the bar but since I don't drink I can't help much on that end.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

You simply choose your preferred spirit, flavor profile, and glassware, then let the mixologist create something just for you. It's one of my favorite cocktail experiences in the city, and they've never steered me wrong. What I especially appreciate is how knowledgeable the bartenders are. They're always happy to offer recommendations if you're unsure what to order, but they're equally excited to create something completely unique if you're feeling adventurous. Watching them craft each drink is part of the experience. I've even hosted a birthday gathering here in their private side room, where we enjoyed charcuterie boards alongside our cocktails. If you're just stopping in for drinks, though, I'd recommend grabbing dinner beforehand, as the food offerings are fairly limited. More often than not though, you'll find me sitting right at the bar. I love watching the bartenders showcase their craft and chatting with them about the incredible selection of spirits they have on hand. It can be used at The Berkshire Room as well as several other excellent restaurants, making it an easy way to earn rewards while exploring some great dining spots around the city. I'll start out by saying that the time in the Aviary was the best cocktail experience we have ever had. Not saying the best cocktails (even though they were very good), but the best experience as far as interesting presentations and overall service combined with good cocktails that when you were drinking them did not feel gimmicky at all, but that everything had a purpose. My wife did the 3 drink progression and ordered The Partridge, The 3 Martini Lunch, and the non-alcoholic version of the Kyoto Plum. I got three cocktails, but because I opted for one on their barrel aged part of the menu, my progression was basically a la carte, not the 3 drink $75 price. We also opted for one small bite of food - The Truffle explosion. My drinks were the Cereal Killer, the In The Rocks, and the Blood and Sand. As far as favorites went Joy's Partridge was basically a Mint Julep with some warming spices, but the presentation was great. Almost every table got that drink so it must be well received. My favorite was the Blood and Sand that was just a really well balanced cocktail. I think that part of the menu does not get the elaborate presentations. We both also enjoyed sharing the 3 martini lunch which was a small version of a Vesper, a Gibson, and a dirty Martini. Two things about this drink, we like our martinis with gin rather than vodka (obviously a Vesper has both), but their rules are that there are no changes to their menus, so both the gibson and the dirty martini were vodka based. The Gibson and the Vesper were our favorites of the three as the dirty martini was too dirty. There was even more olive brine if we wanted it dirtier. Bottom line, top notch experience, great friendly service, and the atmosphere was awesome watching the room being served some of the drinks we had, and ones that we did not order. The Truffle Explosion was also a very good bite, basically a truffle/parmesan infused soup dumpling that exploded in your mouth and helped out with a little food in our belly while having all that alcohol at the same time. The only disappointing cocktail was the Kyoto Plum mocktail, interesting presentation, but tasted just like grape juice - no real character. A hostess from Next came and got us and took us to our table in Next for the 1987 Manhattan meal. Thanks for a great experience Aviary!!

We made a reservation for their three course cocktail experience for four of us which required a deposit of $75 per person. Only one of us ended up doing the experience (the rest of us were too full and already tipsy from dinner) but it was nonetheless, a very cool experience. Service was top notch. My partner has admired this place for a long time, as a bartender himself, and he has even learned a thing or two from their Bible-like cookbooks. So when the maitre d offered to allow him to step into the kitchen and help finish one of their cocktails, he was absolutely giddy. This was such a memorable and special touch for us during our visit to Chicago. I loved seeing how the kitchen worked together in a traditional kitchen line but only focusing on cocktails. It was an impressive thing to see. Many of the cocktails are presented in an incredibly theatrical way featuring interesting glassware, dry ice, and even a plastic bag filled with flavored air. I actually wasn't a big fan of the cocktail I ordered (it leaned too heavy into the BBQ flavor for my taste) but I enjoyed trying everyone else's cocktails at the table. I would definitely recommend checking out The Aviary if you are a cocktail enthusiast hoping to try something you can't get anywhere else. It truly is a fine dining experience with mixology at the forefront.
