I should've left as soon as we sat down and I noticed how the grime everywhere from the windows to the floor but my husband and kids were hangry. Flies, both alive and dead seemed to be the only thing I could focus on until I got the $200 bill. The food was mediocre...my husband's almost $60 steak did not impress. The risotto with my meal was overcooked and bland. I've had better food at cheaper chain restaurants. The service was equally mediocre with a server who wore his mask under his nose. So far Vintage Twelve has been one of my favorite restaurants in this part of Myrtle Beach. I've tried a couple of other highly recommended places and haven't been as impressed as I am with Vintage Twelve. First off, it is located in the Embassy Suites hotel, but once inside the ambience is soft and romantic. The menu is filled with everything from hush puppies to steak and fish. There is a large wine selection and mixed drinks available as well. To start we opted for the hush puppies and they were delicious, served with an amazing cheese sauce. We were also given complimentary fresh bread with herbed butter and crackers with pimento cheese. Every bite was absolutely delicious. I would absolutely recommend the salmon. It was amazing served with the risotto and the honey pushed the dish over the top. We also visited again for restaurant week and again were very impressed. The seafood chowder was soooo good and filled with flavor and chunks of seafood. The charred Caesar salad had chunks of roasted garlic that made the dish a standout. Honestly though the Frozen Peanut Butter Pie is a MUST!! It is so rich and smooth you will enjoy every last bite. Food is fantastic, service is amazing, and the ambiance is the wrapping on the gift. Definitely give vintage twelve a try if your looking for a nice dining experience away from the tourist traps. read more

The food here was fantastic! Good service. I had the Caesar salad to start which came with grilled piece of Parmesan cheese which was a nice touch. My husband had the scallops which he said were perfectly cooked and tasted great. I had the chicken with pesto pasta and it was delightful. I would definitely come back to eat here. read more

So, we stayed at the embassy suites. We had had a long day and decided to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner, thus we chose this place due to the convenience factor. The views in the restaurant are spectacular. Unfortunately, the food is not. We ordered the grouper with risotto. The risotto was actually rice with a cream sauce. The grouper was thick, like a tuna steak, was rubbery and had no flavor. We kept pouring salt on it to give it some taste, but it didnt help. When hungry I tend to eat whatever is in front of me, even if it is not good. My wife however, is not the same. Hence, why I am fat and she is thin. So, true to form, i polished off the tasteless meal. my wife's plate was still full when it was taken away. For dessert, we got the peanut butter cheesecake. We finished the one slice between the three of us. I cannot imagine eating a single slice by myself, as it is very rich and sweat. For a subpar meal we ended up paying over $100, which is highway robbery. We found out that the hotel provided a shuttle service to local restaurants and we took advantage of it every night afterwards. The hotel eateries know that guests will chose them for convenience , and so they charge you up the a$$ for low quality food. My suggestion would be to go to Kroger and get supplies for sandwiches for lunch. And, dine out at a local restaurant for dinner. read more

Went to Vintage Twelve for Christmas Dinner with the family. We did not expect to get a price-fixe menu for the event, so things started off on a bad foot. The restaurant is in an Embassy Suites in the way back of a gated vacation resort area of Myrtle Beach. It was a bit odd to drive and a little difficult to find. But we managed. The food was very good in general - but not perfect. To critique my meal specifically: -- Salad was salad... -- Blackened Oysters with Toast Points was served with a giant, thick slice of toasted bread. This is not what I expect when I see toast points. The oysters were very good but eating them on this texas toast was odd. -- Grouper with Grits & Carrots was delightful! The fish was perfectly seared and the creamy grits were a surprise full of yum. I would be thrilled to eat the grits again. Dessert was sad this sad Snowman made of two giant truffles which were gross and impossible to eat. Such a sad ending to the meal. read more

Thy even made us a desert that was on them and it was perfect! My husband had the catch of the day and it was delishhhh!!! After reading Yelp reviews, we decided to try an upscale restaurant in Myrtle Beach. It was a big disappointment to find that the location was in the Embassy Suites. Although the interior was nice and the beach views were great, it still was a hotel restaurant. The food is definitely overpriced for this type of venue but I will have to admit that it was excellent. We had great tasting food, a wonderful server and the presentation of the food was wonderful. I would not make a special trip to go to this restaurant but if you are close by and want a beach view dinner, give it a try. read more

Best place to eat in Myrtle Beach without question. Whenever I travel south to MB to see my folks I am definitely eating here every time! I'm about to make my reservation for Labor day weekend!!! This place is a farm-to-table restaurant using ingredients and food from from local sources, so everything is extremely fresh. And the hand-crafted cocktails with Southern flair are so amazing; some of the best drinks I have ever had. The Smoked Maple Old Fashioned with Bourbon, Smoked Maple Syrup, and Black Walnut Bitters is delicious, along with the Bourbon and Peach Smash. Even if you don't want to have a full meal, I would definitely recommend coming for a cocktail and appetizers. The crab cakes melt in your mouth! Oh and the shrimp and grits ... highly recommend them! Service is impeccable; our waiter were so nice!! And the beach views . . yeah, that's a great bonus. Love this place! It was a little difficult to find but so glad I didn't give up. Started with the pimento cheese fritters and pepper jelly. Wow oh wow. I could have filled up just on those. Then the filet mignon came to the table and I was so glad I didn't fill up on the appetizer. The filet could have been cut with a butter knife. It was silky and buttery. Melted in my mouth. My wife's been coming to MB all her life and me for at least 20 years. Now it's our turn to dazzle the kids with putt putt great beaches and buffets to make your eyes pop. Well we've now found our favorite and it is very different. For the 4th we did not want a monster wait and although listed as $$$ I'm here to tell you it is no more expensive than the crab legs were at the Outrigger years ago. Both my wife and I enjoyed the crispy oyster salad. Awesome good cornmeal breaking. Light. Fantastic start. Paired it with a nice Viognier (at only $33/bottle, great affordable wine list). She had the crab cakes. I had the fish special. A local corgy (sp?) that was Cooke perfectly. The kids plowed into their flatbreads and all was perfect. And then dessert. But this did not ruin us... The waiter forgot my frangelica and served what could have been a delicious pecan pie but it was burnt. You could see it. I was surprised they served. But we ate it anyway and went on our way. One word; delicious! A MUST try. We went with a large party of 11, and they had the table set and ready for us when we arrived. We were seated by the very friendly staff. Unfortunately one of the lights above the table would not stop flickering, it was very distracting and we asked to be moved to a different table away from the blinking light. The staff moved quickly to set up a new table and moved us promptly. It was very appreciated. We ordered cocktails, they were delicious (and came in adorable cocktail glasses and ice cubes). We ordered just about everything on the menu (and I got to taste it all!) and you can see what I think below; Spring salad: Try! it's basic, good salad delicious dressing. Sweet potato vichyssoise: Pass. More of a sweet potato purée. Corn chowder: maybe. It was good, corn was very fresh and sweet. The oysters didn't add much but still a good treat. There are better items on the menu. Roasted corn hush puppies: Try! The fondue is heavenly. Pimento cheese plate: Try! It's pimento cheese. You know it's amazing. I still dream about this. Lump crab cakes: Try! Delicious, perfectly cooked with fresh crab. Simple but delicious. Chilled shrimp: maybe. It's good, basic. What you'd expect of chilled shrimp. The sauces on the side were tasty. Charleston flatbread: Pass. This could be amazing, and I enjoyed it. But with so many amazing things on the menu, I would have preferred to order something else. The bread was thick and a little under cooked. The cheese made the bread a little too soggy. The over easy egg was one of my favorite parts, but mine was a little too on the raw side. Carolina Mountain Trout: Try! The fish was cooked perfectly. However, the menu listed sweet peas, and we were served lady peas which are very different in taste and texture. We skipped eating the lady peas, and the fish was well worth it. Rack of lamb: try! Delicious. Perfectly prepared. Cast iron pork tenderloin: Try! Moist and tender, prepared to perfection. Catch of the day for us was a black bass, deliciously prepared and very fresh. Shrimp and grits: Try!! Deeeeelicious! The grits are the best you can get in town! We've been searching for a place with grits comparable to the restaurants in Charleston, and we finally found somewhere to get our fix! Overall our experience was great. I'm looking forward to going back, it's easily the best restaurant in town. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is amazing, everything is farm to table, and it's a nice restaurant. Went to Myrtle Beach on a family vacation, Vintage Twelve is located inside of the Embassy Suites on Kingston Plantation. Loved it!! I had their 4 ounce sirloin. It was delicious and well-seasoned. The vegetables were good too. My wife had crab cakes (appetizer menu), she said they were delicious. There were only three tables occupied. It was quiet, romantic and you can see the beach from your table. The service was great, just attentive enough, but not bothersome. I was a bit disappointed that the deserts didn't include key lime pie, pecan pie or bread pudding - all southern favorites. So didn't get desert. read more

My husband & I ate here for a late dinner, and everything was incredible--food, service & view! Being a vegetarian, often times there's only one entree option. Luckily, it was a zucchini & red pepper coulis dish that was absolutely delicious. Also, the grilled romain salad was a great starter. Ended the meal with a warmed chocolate chip cookie served atop bourbon caramel w/ice cream--recommended as the best dessert by our server. It was! Quite honestly this may have been my worst dining experience ever. I travel a lot for work and dine out frequently. Service was slow, took 10 minutes just to get a glass of water and over two hours to get Overcooked chicken and pork. My daughter ordered crab cakes and they were frozen in the center. Again 2 hours to get frozen crab cakes in an empty restaurant. To add insult to injury my wife had to use the restroom and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom all three stalls. Four of us ate there on a Thursday night. The service was very slow and they were not busy.All of us ordered the crab bisque and it had very little flavor, but nice amount of crab meat. I am originally from Maryland and rarely try crab cakes anywhere but there! Unfortunately, these were full of filler and not even warm in the middle. We dined here on our last night in MB. It was not an incredibly busy evening, maybe 60% full but there was a large part of 12 seated behind us. Service was extremely poor. 45 minutes after ordering before receiving our appetizer. An hour and a half after ordering still no entrees. At this point, husband was beyond frustrated. My wife and I soooo wanted to enjoy Vintage Twelve. We'd read about Chef Brady in GS Mag and were excited to try something innovative, locally sourced and Southern inspired in MB. We had the same doubts walking through the lobby of the Embassy Suites as other diners, but we've learned even hotel eateries can be stellar (think Michael Mina or Kerry Simon - for the most part). We thought the approach to the restaurant was sort of cool, down a wide corridor with an open view into the kitchen, though the banquet table in the center of the corridor seemed oddly useless and out-of-place. We were disappointed that neither the dining room, nor the bar shared the kitchen view and amused/befuddled to discover that while the bar shares an opaque window wall with the kitchen, the bar staff need to listen for the ready bell, walk out of the bar and around to the kitchen in order to retrieve diners plates...at this point, my doubts have returned. Enter Steve, the bartender, also the aforementioned gofer, doing all that running around because somebody couldn't be functional with the design plans, but I digress. Steve was our host for the evening and he was great. As the dining room was empty and we don't like eating in a room full of ghosts, we joined Steve and the only other diner at the restaurant that evening. Without picking up a menu, I ordered the Smoked Maple Old Fashioned, I'd already read about it, gotten excited about it, looked forward to it all day and guess what? He couldn't make it... seems Chef Brady hadn't ordered syrup, or smoking chips, or liquid smoke, or whatever the heck she puts in the drink in over a week and there was no word on when a new batch would be ready. Really? One more time, really? I have no issue with the drink being unavailable on a quiet Friday night, or the Friday night before and maybe even the one before that. I do have a problem with it being on a menu when it can't be made!!! Take it off, replace it, don't replace it, I don't care, just don't make me think it's available when it isn't...this is supposed to be about us, our enjoyment, our expectations and we get to pay you for the experience! So Steve suggests the bourbon peach smash, which is as advertised, just a bit too sweet for my liking, my wife orders a gin slap and loves it, which we're both happy about. On to the food... We ordered the crab cakes to start, which were nicely presented, 2 pretty fat, crab rich cakes with some pickled okra and a smear of aioli. The okra was the star however as the cakes were a bit cool throughout, (optimistically guessing it was due to the run around that bar) and there was nowhere near enough aioli on the plate, which could have used something extra anyway, more bite, salt, something...overall, a letdown. Next came the baby lettuces for her and the french onion for me, hers underdressed and skimpy, mine incredibly bland, only the smoked gouda had flavor, and the kitchen I'm quite sure didn't hand make the cheese. Salads, btw, are always a crapshoot in the South. They are rarely good, fresh, full, thoughtful...I had one a following night elsewhere which consisted of a bit of pulled iceberg, a couple of cucumber slices, a slice of red onion and bingo, a salad! If Chef Brady was from the South, we'd have expected the lousy salad and been pleasantly surprised if it was good, but she's from Jersey where they know how to use lettuces and other fresh vegetables, was this poor training, laziness or was this it? And then the entrees... The 18 oz. bone in rib eye for me and the pork tenderloin for her. My eyes were instantly drawn to the steak as it neared, it was huge! But again, something was off, the plates looked plain, a steak on a pile of smashed potatoes and the pork on a pile of pale hash...nothing to say this is what we'd been waiting for all night. I'd ordered the steak, med-med rare, Steve and I spent a minute on the temp, as I don't mind some pink in the beef, but I am not a fan of a rare cook, unless I'm eating Carpaccio, which I was not. The steak wasn't medium, not even med rare, it was still breathing it was so rare and it was an incredibly fatty piece of meat. I took it home to eat the next morning after cooking it properly, but the fat strands were overwhelming, most of it ended up in the compost. Her piece of pork was decent, seasoned well, cooked properly, but underwhelming overall. After all that, we skipped dessert and high-tailed it out of there...the night was another in a long line of lousy Myrtle Beach dining forays, will we ever learn our lesson, can we stop expecting some place, any place to be decent in MB, or is it the nature of the beast, the Central Grand Strand just has lousy food? By the way, Pawley's Island, 30 minutes south does have good food, how can they get it right down there, but no one up the road can? Food for thought? read more

Have eaten here on two occasions. Service a little slow since they cook to order. My husband and I both thought the quality, taste, and presentation was exceptional. Four stars reflect that it is a little pricey and salads are separate but we did not miss the salad and had plenty . The venue was nice on that one could look out onto the beach. Our server was very nice. However for a restaurant that boasts farm to table and a bit finer atmosphere than the grill inside the Embassy Suites the need to up their game. In general one does not ask if you want an appetizer will waiting to decide on an entrée. My shrimp bisque was very good but the vidalia onion soup was better. My scallops were perfectly done but the lamb chops were almost overdone. In addition they wee service with the mustard topping on the bone side and not the meat side. The creme brûlée was delicious but serving it only it it's ramekin and not on a plate so as to be able to put your spoon done on other than the table was another reason for only three stars read more

Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach-Oceanfront Resort Jun 10, 2017 A Culinary Disaster We decided to take our group of nine to "Vintage Twelve" tonight for dinner on the heals of a terrible experience of their more casual concept within the property. We started with a few orders of the fried green tomatoes that turned out to have the smell of a Horse Stable. We decided to let this be just an "Off" item and to put this aside and move on. The next item was the French Onion soup that unfortunately smelled the same as the Fried Green Tomatoes. I had the server and the manager both smell the soup and they definitely agreed that the soup had a terrible smell. The manager took the soup to the kitchen for the "chef" to smell and he returned to inform me that they 86'd the soup for the night. It was now time for the entrees that were incredibly disappointing. The Vegetable ravioli that two of our guests had were cold, the three scallop dishes had over-cooked pasta and rubbery Scallops, my son's steak was mealy and the sour cream mashed potatoes were all sour cream. The entire culinary experience was extremely disappointing. When the entree's were cleared I asked the server to have the chef try the plate of food that he had sent out to see if he thought it was what he was proud of serving? With no response from anyone within the team we simply asked to pay the check. I've been in this business for 24 years and can tell you that I'm saddened by the place that represent themselves this way, I was shocked to see that the two orders of green tomatoes and the untouched Scallops were still on the bill. We payed the $450 tab with the agreement that we were just done. I expressed my disappointment with the manager on our departure and can tell you that I would have never let a guest leave my establishment with this feeling of disappointment. I hope this true assessment allows this company to not only learn, but grow grow this experience to strive to make the restaurants better. read more

Vintage Twelve is located in the Embassy Suites with an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant itself is very clean and beautiful. Modern decor, and extremely friendly and helpful service. Truly a very classy gem in the middle of a tourist area. We started off with a glass of Cabernet, and the hush puppies with pimento fondue. It was over way too soon, by far the best hush puppies I've ever had and the fondue was amazing. For dinner I had the amazing shrimp and grits, and my husband had the fresh catch of the day which was Yellowjack. Both were cooked to perfection. I really can't say enough about this amazing new restaurant, it is definitely a gem in Myrtle Beach. read more

I got the catch of the day (swordfish). The ambience is nice and the waitstaff is above average. My $26 meal however... very below average. My swordfish itself was cooked perfectly (perfect consistency), but had no flavor or spices. The salsa tasted like it was from a can except watered down. The carrots and lentils were hard as a rock and also without flavor. The homemade cornbread was very good as was the skillet cookie with homemade vanilla ice cream. Was truly hoping for a better than "hotel" restaurant experience and was excited on our arrival evening to give Vintage Twelve a shot, especially for the 1000 pt OpenTable slot. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to my expectorations for a farm-to-table restaurant at the level of cost. On the positive side, the view is great (oceanfront), the waitress was very nice, the chilled shrimp were nice, my wife enjoyed the Wedge Salad, and the Shrimp and grits were very good. Not so impressed: the highlighted appetizer is a Seafood Tower at a market price ($65). Of the 4 tables seated only (1) was having a tower when we were informed they did not have any towers left to serve our "tower" as they "only own a couple". Not a huge deal so our tower came out on a plate and the seafood was pretty good. The large portion of crab salad on the tower really needs something to eat it with, like crackers, so we requested crackers, and received saltines that we're stale. The waitress was kind enough to find crackers at a sister restaurant and we moved to the main course. I ordered the "fresh catch" thinking coastal seafood would be the best chance for a rebound. The local Snapper arrived very overcooked and the risotto cakes had zero seasoning. I picked away at my snapper in hopes of finding moisture, leaving 90% on the plate, and left the risotto cakes less a couple of tastes. Despite seeing that I did not eat my market-price, "fresh-catch", I did not get any question about why my food was returned from the roaming manager or the waitress (we were the last of 2 table). I paid the $200+ meal without complaint as I did not want to be "that guy". I truly went in with lowered expectations as I knew this was a hotel; however, the "upgraded " menu still comes out of the same hotel kitchen. I can only hope that the location is new and perhaps growing into the menu. The small plates looked to be good and perhaps a more realistic section to order from. I recently ate here. They have a great fresh craft cocktail menu, decent beers and a super wine list which reasonably priced. I had the Gin slap which was fresh and vibrant. We started of with the watermelon gazpacho, sweet and spicy, really delicious! I then had the Rib-eye which was cooked perfect and seasoned just right. The dessert was yummy. The ocean view was the best on the grand strand. This is a hidden gem in a beautiful hotel. High recommend! Cheers! read more

We had finally had an an opportunity to have dinner here. Instead of entrées we order several small plates for our meal. Everything was excellent. I love clams on the shell but my husband and doesn't so finding a place that offered just 4 was a find. We also had the crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies and asparagus, all termed small plates. We had more than enough to eat between the two of us. And all were excellent. Trying several small plates as an alternative to a regular entrée is a fun way to sample what a restaurant can offer. We had a lovely server and a great view of the ocean and enjoyed watching a man flying a kite while struggling with an amazing ocean breeze. read more

Decided to go based on ocean-front view. Felt rushed and our server wasn't super friendly. Bread = half a corn bread muffin for each of the two of us. It was good. App = hush puppies with fondu was the best part of the meal. Entrees = pork tenderloin was requested medium arrived well done. The shrimp that came with it was so tough you couldn't eat it. Chicken and Dumplings were absolutely not that. One lumpy biscuit with a chicken thigh and green beans that were the consistency of plastic straws. Really terrible food. Served one glass of pino and they ran out. No more pino. Was asked if we wanted them to walk over to Coastal to see if they had pino. At the time we didn't realize that was only about 20 feet. Total $101 before tip. Worst meal I've had in this part of town in 32 years of having a condo here. read more

I read some of the reviews on Yelp and was reluctant to try this place, but it was within a pleasant walking distance and my wife and I enjoyed the stroll. As in other reviews, I wasn't crazy about the service. I can't say it was bad, but it wasn't great either. The waitress repeatedly thanked us for our patience. BUT... Here's the thing. The place was deserted! We made reservations for 7pm, but there were only four other tables besides us. Nevertheless, and here is the important part... The food was incredible. The shrimp and grits were truly inspired and the pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked. If you don't mind dropping $100 on dinner- this food was pretty outstanding. We wanted to like Vintage Twelve, so badly. I loved the idea that they used local produce, meat, and fish. The idea of the restaurant really appealed to us. My husband and I made reservations for last night, for my birthday. Upon arriving (after finding it), we walked into the hotel with no greeting, no direction on where to go, so we asked and we went near a hostess booth that was marked with the name of another restaurant, so we assumed that was not the right hostess booth, the hostess saw us walking around aimlessly and confused, and said nothing. We walked all the way down the long corridor to the Vintage Twelve, which is right outside the open kitchen, and not one staff person asked us if we needed help or anything. So we walked back to the hostess station and told her we had reservations and then were seated at a lovely table facing the ocean. The view was spectacular. Little did we know that was about the only thing spectacular about this restaurant. The menu online had not been updated because it says a choice of salad included Caesar salad, when we got to the restaurant, it was not on the menu, and so I asked if they still had it, and our server said they have something called the "Grilled Romaine" which was their "version" of a caesar salad. So, I thought I'd try it. When we got it, it was NOTHING like a caesar salad. It had ham (that was actually not bad) and literally "grilled romaine". I should've figured they actually grilled the lettuce, which was awful. Who likes warm, soggy lettuce???? But then they brought out corn bread and apple cinnamon butter, which was excellent. Then we ordered our meals. I ordered the 18 oz Bone in ribeye without the spinach or port reduction and my husband ordered the swordfish special which came with what the server described as a "chick pea sauce"? My husband then asked if there were mushrooms in it and the server said there was not. We both ordered roasted potatoes as our sides. Upon getting our meal, I immediately cut into the steak as I had ordered it medium rare, it was pretty over done, I'd say almost medium well. Not very pink, but it was not dry. It was still juicy, but it had absolutely no seasoning or flavor other than the charred burnt taste that took over the steak. For $38, I was NOT pleased, but did not want to complain in such a "fancy" restaurant. My husband tried the swordfish, which he described as, "parts of it were okay, parts just didn't seem cooked". The "chick pea sauce" was not a sauce, they were whole chick peas and other garnishings and you guessed it, MUSHROOMS. But again, we are not about complaining in fancy restaurants, surrounded by fancy hotel guests in their fancy clothing. But we did tell our server about the mushrooms and she apologized, but blamed it on, she thought he was talking about another dish when he asked that. Not very appropriate, and I don't think it matters which plate he asked it about, (which he asked about both), because if he asks once, then it's obvious that he doesn't like them or is ALLERGIC! She did take off 10% for that, but with tip it was still $112, way more than what it was worth. I left hungry, and out of $112. I will never return to this restaurant. Not for the price.
