I don't treat myself often and Ethan's is not my typical place, but I wanted a pedicure and was in the area so I walked in to see if they could take me. They quickly helped on a Thursday afternoon. Elvie (LV)? Did my pedicure and was thorough in the steps/massage. Overall, I did enjoy my Deluxe pedicure. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I got home that the application of the polish was subpar. There were bubbles throughout and not a clean application on the edges. Maybe too thick? Not sure but pretty disappointing. I probably won't be back here for my next pedicure. read more

These girls are the BEST! Not only are their prices extremely fair but they have SO many options to choose from and are able to do so many different techniques. There is something for every style and every person. Sometimes I tell them to just surprise me because I can't decide and I always love it. They just redid the salon and they take so much pride in their work. If something isn't right, they go above and beyond to make sure their clients are happy. And they make you feel like you're with your girlfriends - everyone is so kind and friendly. This is the only place I will go to get my nails done. read more

This is my second time here, and I'll definitely be coming back! I believe my nail tech was Heidi--she was so sweet and incredibly detailed. I always get exactly the design I want, and she truly listens to my preferences. Plus, the prices are super affordable for the quality of work. Highly recommend! I tried out dip powder for the first time here and the outcome was very disappointing. It is clearly evident this is not an expertise of Heidi's. The dip powder came out way too thick and the shaping of it is also very off. I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time that she didn't feel confident completing this manicure. I do, however, really like Lee's pedicure work. She is very good at what she does. Unfortunately Lee was out so I gave Hannah a try for a white French tip pedicure and she did not disappoint. Highly recommended Lee and Hannah for pedicure work. I would not go back for manicure work at this nail salon. read more

This is my go-to spot for mani and pedi. Even my fiancé, comes with me. One time he went without me! Super clean, super friendly. Prices are reasonable. They take walk-in's. But best to make an appointment, cuz they get busy. That right there, should say that they must be doing something right. read more

This is my new nail spot. I called to make an appointment one day and I came in and was so amazed with the service that I received. Ethan was my nail tech and I showed him a picture of how I wanted my nails. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the same exact picture. He was very meticulous on each and every nail making sure they were shaped right. I never had a nail tech like him before. I also had a pedicure and I didn't get her name but she did a great job on my toes. The only issue is that she didn't straighten my nails but she did a great job. I would definitely come back here to get my nails done. Thank you Ethan and staff for being so great at what you guys do. read more

I never write reviews, but this was hands down (pun intended) the worst manicure I've ever had. My regular nail girl was booked, so I made the decision to try this place out. Kim was my technician 1. She didn't perform any cuticle care- Didn't push them back, didn't trim, didn't clean. She went straight to buffing and dipping them in powder. I expect cleaning the cuticles the bare minimum when getting a manicure. 2. She took nail drill bits from an Altoids container labelled "SOILED". I watched her put them back after she used it on me. I doubt they were sanitized before or after. 3. She walked away mid powder dip to get her phone from the back to watch videos on her phone. She wasn't even looking at my hands when she was filing. 4. She was very rough with my hands, dropping my fingers when trying to file them aggressively with her eyes on her phone. 5. One of the nails was chipped while she was working, when I pointed it out to her she rudely said she already knew and she would fix it. It's still chipped. She didn't fix it. 6. I asked for orange chrome. Tell me how I ended up with house-fly green. If it wasn't iridescent it would be the color of vomit. I was charged $56 ($1 for credit card fee). Way too expensive for a subpar experience, and not even close to what I asked for. I really tried to convince myself they're not that bad. They are. read more

Don't waste your time at this place! The man who did my nails was horribly rude and rough with my hands! I came in for a fill and he didn't bother to remove polish he just filed them down a bit and put polish over it! They tried to charge me $40 for a fill because I had French tips.. managed to talk them down to $35 because i couldn't bring myself to pay full price. So now I'm stuck with nails that are too bright(I had pink prior to requesting French tips for my fill) and I have to get them fixed. Rude, unprofessional and dirty!! The man used an old napkin and dumped white flakes out of one of the tools before using it on me. 0/10 don't recommend. Rude. Unprofessional and Nasty. DON'T DO IT! read more

I recently started working near this business and needed a place to get a pedicure. I was able to walk in without appointment on a Friday afternoon and they sat me right away. I was very pleased with my gel pedicure and their prices are fairly reasonable (compared to othet lactations that now charge an arm and a leg). I wish I remembered the ladies name that helped me but she was attentive to what I wanted and most importantly gentle. I plan on returning for another pedicure soon. read more

I really like their work but the customer service went down. They used to bring me a water when I came by and now they stopped. Last time I went all they did was try to push Hela on me when I am clearly not interested. They also really pushed for me to pay with cash and I paid with a credit card which they just didn't look happy about. I will be looking for a new place. read more

I went to get my nails done with my niece. I was paying for everything and had a $20. My niece was getting her toes done and I was getting a gel mani and pedi. I never leave this place without tipping! So I was offended when the fat lady doing my toes demanded a tip for everyone before I could get change. The cashier explained to her that I had already tipped the lady that did my nails. I will never return here based on this women's rude and obnoxious behavior. Ethan is the truth!! & Jack in the Box (nail tech) is the man to go to....I went in for a fill and Jack in The Box (that's his name y'all) got me all the way right!!! He took me from square to oval and cleaned the under nail that took my curvature to flat (I hope that makes sense). My nails look so good compared to how I walked in and I cannot wait to see Jack in the Box in 2 weeks when I get my new set. He's gunna have my nails lookn goodt! Always so accommodating and find a way to squeeze me in for a medí/pedí. I cannot complain about the service nor their prices. Always greet you with a smile and remember your name as well as your likes and dislikes. They even went as far as making a color for me they didn't have.. Yes!!!! SO HAPPY! Kevin did my full set and my nails look like glass, so pretty! I used a reference picture but my nails turned out better than the picture. This is the one place where I have been and received a great experience from beginning to end. I called and they were very friendly and helpful and when I came in same thing! The environment was super friendly everyone was nice and offered drinks(water or coffee). I also got a pedicure by a women who's name I didn't get but she was great also! She was gentle and asked if that's how I liked the size of my French tip. Super happy! Thank you! read more

Ups: they got us right in and worked pretty well. The prices were ok and they were hospitable. Offered us water or soda. A large TV on the wall and it was clean inside. Cons: my attendant cut my cuticles on two of my toes. It bled pretty good too. She didn't say anything, she just started spraying antiseptic on my feet. I had to tell her to apply direct pressure to somewhat stop the bleeding. Smh. May or may not return. read more

I noticed the manicurist cleaning dead skin from the cuticle cutter. She reached for my hand to begin. I told her I wanted sanitized tools. She reached and pulled out bag with hopefully sanitized tools. I don't remember seeing where the lady doing my pedicure got her tools. I do t even see the bag they are stored in. The water was cold. I hate that I have to leave this place a bad review. I have been going here for months for pedicures, my first Tim getting dip powder. 1. There were clear spots on my dip nails at which the tech told me it's what the dip powder does. Which I know it isn't at other places. So the owner suggested put similar purple gel on top. They did & it was fine. 2. Now it's chipping & lifting after 1 week. Sorry to say but the dip powder here is no good read more

Decided to stop by after class from CSULB one day when I realized that I was overdue for a manicure lol. Ethan greeted then helped me the minute I walked in and right away I felt comfortable there! I don't do anything crazy with my nails as far as any art so I just wanted to clean them up and get a gel fill in. When it comes to my nails, it's definitely something I don't play around about. I am very particular and very picky about the way I want my nails done, as we should all!!!!! When I came into Ethan's VIP Nails, they greeted me with warm smiles even though I came in very close to closing. Ethan took very good care of me. I let him take creative freedom over my nails (which is unheard of) but he REALLY REALLY wow'd me. I would never expect to like the design of nails that he created for me, but I am hooked for sure! This nail salon is actually WORST place to go to, I got my nails done on Saturday and i'm already taking them off as we speak because of how ugly and uneven they were my nails came out horrible and they couldn't even give me what i came in there asking for, the man who did my nails did a horrible job, cut me multiple times on my fingers, didn't even polish multiple nails completely and rushed doing my nails the whole time, which i honestly do not understand what the rush was for because there was nobody even coming in that place !!! 100% would not recommend, wish i could get me $61 back from this junk !!! I should have just went to my normal nails salon. What a tragedy. I wanted to multiple times leave the woman that was doing my nails was more of Dom, Torturer then a nail tech. She got me food y all... Again I should have simply gotten up and left. Towards the end when she basically cut into all my cuticles and they were bleeding did the Mgr I guess start yelling at her and she yelled back. very uncomfortable very horrible experience. The technicians were very hygienic, with a visibly clean process, and they were able to provide a design identical to -- and even better than -- what I asked for. Every person I interacted with had excellent customer service and maintained a professional attitude, especially Nancy, Ivy, and Loann. I also want to note that there was a misunderstanding regarding the sizing of one set, but the feedback was received professionally and corrected quickly. Their swift response reassured me why they've maintained such a long history of positive reviews. I will certainly be returning. This nail lounge deserves every positive review it has.

Carol is incredibly attentive and makes sure every detail is perfect. She really takes her time and the work just speaks for itself. I am always super excited about the end result. I can literally show her my inspiration and she always exceeds my expectations. Mia is just as wonderful--super gentle, patient, and clearly very skilled at what she does. Both of them made me feel comfortable and cared for throughout the entire appointment. I also have to mention Tiffany, her pedicures are absolutely amazing! She creates such a relaxing experience, and you can tell she really knows what she's doing. It all feels like a mini spa treatment, and my feet have never looked or felt better. It's not always easy to find a salon where you feel confident in the service, but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. The unprofessional young lady I mentioned before, no longer works at the spa and I have had nothing but good customer service there. I'm also not sure if my review had them look at some of their practices, but I have not come across any unsanitary practices since the incident with the nail dip. They have great manicurist and my favorite pedi is from Tiffany, a very sweet lady who is patient and does her job well.

Not only was the design exactly the inspiration I provided, but I ended up getting proposed to on that trip so these became my engagement nails! I've been coming back to see Zoe ever since. Whether it's detailed designs or airbrushed looks, she always does an amazing job. I receive many compliments whenever I get nail art done by her! Attached are some of my faves. I also have to shout out Tracy, who does my pedicures. She recognizes me, is welcoming, and always so helpful when it comes to my ingrowns, which can be painful, and I really appreciate. She makes the whole experience comfortable for me. I have not caught the receptionist's name, but she is also very kind whenever I visit as well. Highly recommend Euca, Zoe, and Tracy!

A good friend of mine, after utilizing her Inspector Gadget research skills to locate the perfect new texture, color, and style of hair to re-do her braids, found this specific supply store in her neighborhood. Loving the location and the fact they had the hair she needed was a delight and excitement as she was preparing for a lovely Valentine's/Presidents Day weekend! She just knew everything was falling into alignment. She entered the store, easily found everything she she needed, and due to her research, knew exactly how much her items would cost; taxes and everything included. The clerk rang her up and as my dear friend was just about to go on about her lovely Friday evening, she stopped and look at her receipt in hopes to celebrate how spot on her math would be. But unfortunately, she was stopped in her tracks as she noticed an exuberant additional amount charged over her own calculations. $60 worth of odd charges. She had a "things that make you go hmmm..." moment. My dear friend inquired about the additional charges and was met with what seemed to be "I'mma make some bs up so this lady will get out of my face" energy. My dear friend did not like this and asked for the manager and the clerk responded the manager was busy. Friend asked for the manager's name and the clerk gave it and it was the name of the clerk. Friend asked "Is that you??" The clerk responded "Yes." Friends' mind was blown and her annoyance grew. Friend asked for an explanation of the charges and like most businesses that attempt to take advantage of customers, when it got down to the core of it, the manager couldn't explain the charges and offered a refund to her debit card which would take 7-10 business days. My friend wasn't buying it, demanded an immediate cash refund of the over charges and wasn't leaving until she received it. I don't blame her at all. If you knew my dear friend, you would agree she is a lovely person and definitely not the person to play, scam, lie, cheat, or steal from. It would not be wise. Eventually the "clerk/manager/I accidentally over charged you $60 for some hair" came to her senses and refunded Friend in cash and all was calm. In a time when everyones money has an assignment and very few of us can enjoy luxury let alone have spare time and change to beautify ourselves, the last thing we need in a place as sacred as the beauty supply store, is the mindset and ill-political strategies of "wanna-be" oligarchs. This really ain't the time to be messing with anyone, especially women when it's time to get our hair done. This business needs to do better and realize many of us ain't too busy or distracted to read our receipts. This is a warning to them to stop pressing your luck. We're entering a time when buyers are not afraid to report you for fraud. Thank you for coming to my TEDTALK.
