I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently the staff worked, and even more pleased with how my nails turned out. Based on some of the reviews, I expected I might need to ask for corrections or additional work, but that wasn't the case at all. Haley took care of my pedicure, and she did a fantastic job. I was extremely happy with the final result. There was some upselling, but Haley approached it very gently and kindly, without any pressure. Overall, it was a great experience. I do not recommend coming to this nail shop. Very ignorant people work here. I stopped by to try to get my nails done and they racially profiled me and thought I was someone else and refused to do service with me. They all ran in the back and I was confused. Like you must have me mixed up with someone else buy they the staff refused to do business with me. I asked why? they couldn't give me no reason. Ive been here a few times in the past but definitely not my " Home Nail Shop" never wanted to make it my home nail shop because of there unprofessional attitudes they had in the past. Come here only if you like bad service. Look this place is great for older people or people with health issues who can't have aggressive nails done. I called Alex before coming for an appointment and to ask for price. I walked in 10 min later and he handed me to a man named Michael. I showed this man my Gel x request , he took me to the station and started pulling out glue for acrylics. I immediately stopped him and said "No, gel x please" he said "ok" but as he started, he didn't know Gel X placement, he was shaking and when he put the nail in my pinky it was crooked. I had to rip it off, and I asked him to try again. He was so nervous and he was leaving air bubbles , so I did it myself. Finally my second nail he was about to do it, and he put so much glue it burned my skin, he put it on my nail bed direct and the fake nail!!!!!I said "stop" and I asked why he couldn't do it? He said "I don't have the equipment!" .... I was so confused !!! I said Nevermind. I asked him to leave my nails alone, and i continued with the mediocre pedi. After that I was taunted by a SUZY and the other technicians there. (See video) She kept passing by me, and starring at me while speaking in her language. Probably because I told Alex that "Michael" was not doing my Gel X right and he needs to stop. I guess Suzy is a ring leader and She must have felt some type of way. But as a customer, I felt harassed and bullied. I will never ever! Ever! in my life come back here again. I paid 67$ for a pedi, and this pedi was so bad , but I feel bad reviewing the lady doing it bc I could tell she really tried hard, so I'll leave it at that. Anyway, I told Alex why he assigned me Michael who doesn't do Gel X, he said he's a specialist! I was so shook! If he specializes in Gel X then this place is doomed. Do not come here if you want toes done right, and GelX!!!!! A lot of older people come here, now I see why because they will not dig and are super soft. Tina is the best I let her pick the design this time, and it was nice. The thing I love the most with her is that she is able to communicate with me in English. The Nail Bar 86 and Lakewood at the Lakewood mall is an excellent nail salon. They are very professional. I have not had a bad session there yet and I really enjoy going there. They're very professional there. They tend to their clients. Make sure you're comfortable and well hydrated. They will call you when you're when it's close to your appointment time and try to accommodate you if you need an appointment. I have always liked my nails after leaving and there's no lifting or dullness. Granted a lot of factors go into rather or not your nails are going to mess up or lift. I'm saying that the four times I've been here I have not had an issue. In the middle of those four times, I went back to my old place, which is in the Carson Mall and Had an issue on day two. first timer at this shop. the owner was welcoming and allowed me to book an appointment the following day. came in 7.5.24 @ 1800 for a new dip powder acrylic set and a gel pedicure. Susie worked on my nails and I had another female employee with bangs who worked on my toes. both were kind and welcoming. Susie was patient with the design I wanted considering that I was their last client and caused them to stay open later than their hours of business. She didn't make me feel bad for requesting a 3D floral design on my hands despite being the last client of the day. they have a ton of colors to choose from which is nice and offer drinks free of choice. I've never had dip acrylic done before and so far it's holding up pretty well since my return from vacation. It was so bad I walked out without the lotion or a foot massage. I needed to get out of there, or I was going to scream. The girl was so sloppy that she kept scraping her nail against my skin to get nail polish off. It hurt. I knew that I wasn't exaggerating the pain because when she put alcohol on it, it burned all over my toes. I got a gel pedicure for $45 which truthfully felt like a rip off considering the quality. The top of my big toe is already peeling. I told her that's not gonna last long. She started scraping. You can't take her finger nail and scrape my toe. It's hard already! Also realized the polish brand matters. The non brand color white looks cheap and I spent money to be a bit embarrassed of my toes Maybe if it was $15 I would say that I got what I paid for. But this was pretty darn bad The lady was nice. So I will give them that. read more

Updating my review, today I gave this nail shop another chance but I asked for a particular lady, I seen her work last time I was there & got her name. I got a pedicure from Tina K. She was amazing. This is the first time I was ever offered a beverage during a service here and I've been here 3 times already (wines and water, I chose water, bottled) She explained to me everything she was doing and let me know how I could achieve all of this at home. This might bother some but I loved it. We talked. She was very attentive to detail! Gave suggestions, knew colors by heart. I decided to do a dark-light with different shades of teal/turquoise. Decided to try this place out but like all the other reviews are correct, they are overpriced which i dont mine paying if the nail tech that did my nails would have done a good job but she rushed it , looked angry doing my nails, had nail polish all over my fingers, and didnt even cut my cutticles. I've been there twice and he has done a FANTASTIC job each time. I have really thick cuticle on my toes and he takes the time to clean them up really well. Horrible experience ! I was quoted $30 for short acrylic nails I asked for almond shaped but the tech said square round would look better and she did what she wanted. I disliked them and I told her and she didn't care. She charged me $55 for extra short nails you can't even tell they are acrylic. I was rushed to leave when my toes were not even dry because they were closing yet still had a client they barely had started doing a pedicure on. The owner came rushing everyone to hurry up and pay with their credit cards prior to the services even being complete. The acrylic is too thick and the nails are too short to cost $55. I came here today for the second time. I got Tina for a second time and she did my pedicure. Yes, she takes her time and it took around 90 minutes but she did a very thorough job. She was also entertaining as well. The tech that did my hands also took close to 90 minutes and although they initially looked good no more than 30 minutes after my nails are done I get home and see my hands and two of the nails polish are already peeling on the side. This nail job was too expensive to not have them even last through the first day. I can't remember the mail tech name that did my hands but I'm so disappointed that it appears like it's already about to start lifting on a few nails. I have came here twice to get my nails done. The first time I had my nails filed for square to almond shaped nails. I had a pink rose kind of color and gold glitter on the ring finger. It was done well and they know how to file my nails where it's not crooked. So I was pleased with the first trip. 2nd trip I wanted to do dip with my actual nails, but unfortunately one of them broke. So decided to get some fake nails with the dipping powder nail. I decided to do an ombré. It looked great. The only thing was the lady who filed my nails cut me twice with the nail file. Other than that, it looked great. He takes your name at entrance and make you feel comfortable by personalizing your experience. Annie gave me a pedicure and it completely lived up to it's expectation of being deluxe. Annie was very attentive, made sure I had a complimentary drink, and that I was comfortable. She took her time and was extremely focused on making sure my nails were painted perfectly! Business hours are 10 am - 9pm. I arrived at 7 pm thinking I still had time for a mani and pedi. Everything was going great until I requested for extensions on my big toe being that my nail was too short. I was told by both ladies helping me that I didn't need it and my nails looked fine. Some time passed and I still wasn't satisfied with the way I looked, so before proceeding with color I requested an extension again. The lady doing my pedicure got so angry that she started yelling and slamming her tools as if she was bothered to help me. It seemed like she just wanted to go home. I did a google maps search for a salon open near my house and found Nail Bar 86. I called and the Manager was very accommodating even though they were about to close. I lucked out and got "Q" . [I have been to very high end and pricy salons and she is hands down the best nail technician I've ever had on the West Coast.] "Q" did things in her process that I've never seen any other technician do. I am super picky about shape, getting rid of cuticles, and having no color gel on my skin. "Q" was super nice and went above and beyond, especially given the fact that my manicure was after the end of her shift. "Q" exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond. I didn't feel rushed and she didn't hesitate to put on 3 coats when the color was not as dark as expected. It felt so nice to actually get what I wanted and a she did a quality job. Overall, I was satisfied with my pedicure as they did a good job. The lady working on me did a fantastic job, however it may be a hit or miss for the other technicians. Ok so I never write reviews but I think I'm going to start lol... so I called to book 3 pedi's on a Saturday afternoon. My cousins had just flown in and we all wanted to relax and get pampered a little. Mind you I come here ALL THE TIME this is go to pedi spot. There were 3 main things that happened which made this experience unpleasant: 1. I called to make the appt. at around 6 to see if they possibly had time that day for the pedi's. Now obviously I know calling the same day is a bit last minute so I wasn't hoping for much and even told if you don't have time then it's totally fine and we can make it for another day. The woman who answered the phone said that 6:45 would be fine 2. When we they were sooo busy and we were waiting maybe another 10-15 minutes ok fine no worries we waited... 3. The woman that did my toes was very rude and my pedi was so rushed. All of our pedis were rushed, and the polish looks terrible on all 3 of our toes. Mine weren't even dry before she put on my shoes and then she messed them up. They're also very streaky and globby. My cousins lady only put 1 coat and they already chipped and my other cousins big toes are darker than all the others. They also left old polish on my FOOT not my nails my foot! Moral of this little rant is that I was a loyal customer and now I don't ever want to go back because of this experience. It was embarrassing taking my cousins there and them doing such a terrible job. I also noticed that they don't turn people away which is a horrible thing to do. If you don't have time then u don't have time! Would you rather have all the customers in the world and have them all be unhappy and unsatisfied or do only what you and your girls can do that day and have happy loyal customers?! I understand it's a business but maybe if they weren't so money hungry they would focus more on the satisfaction of their customers. read more
