Just found my go-to breakfast place. The place was packed but we got seated within 5 minutes. The staff were very attentive and personable. They greeted us warmly. My family of 4 ordered loco micro, chicken & waffles, breakfast burrito, and pork chop & eggs. The chicken & waffles and the burrito were my family's favorites. The hazelnut latte with oat milk was terrific.

Family owned restaurant where service is top notch. It's nothing fancy just eat breakfast brunch café. There were so many things on the menu. They even have Chinese food on your menu if you wanna mix it up. Luckily I went with enough people that I was able to try other dishes. From the moment we checked in, to getting seated, getting our food or to enjoy each bite, it was just all around great way to start the day with a delicious breakfast. We went on a Sunday and they had validated parking.

Unassuming, you'd never expect a place located in an office building to have great service, and great food. They seem to have a lot of people who are regulars, they've got cute decor with photos of 90s and then some celebrities... a bit fun to try to guess who these people are... anywho. Both times I was here I had Chinese food for breakfast. First time was chicken broccoli and the second time was the wonton soup. Not the best but it hit the spot especially since finding Asian food at a restaurant early in the morning isn't exactly easy. They've got good coffee, and they cook their eggs just right. I would highly recommend this place and from the looks of it, so would many other people!

Such a cute little diner! Came in around noon and was promptly sat. I opted for an iced vanilla caffe latte and the bacon breakfast burrito, while my partner ordered the hungry combo and upgraded the biscuits to a short stack of chocolate chip pancakes. The burrito was grilled, and it gave it a nice crunch. The stuffing was great. As for my partner's entree, I definitely found my favorite. Everything was fantastic, and the pancakes were fluffy and yummy. Will definitely come back!

I had the most amazing late lunch! The restaurant is absolutely charming with a vintage feel, but it's also very clean and lovely upgraded feel! I ordered the Chinese salad with a crunch and chicken & waffles. Oh my goodness - they are incredibly delicious. The salad is so refreshing and the chicken is super juicy and tasty. I highly recommend this place. The staff was extremely friendly and there's even 90 minutes of free parking validation in the back, which is a great bonus!

Good service, good pancakes, sausage and eggs' bacon no so much, a little dry, but good bacon is hard to come by these days.

Does this place offer a form of digital or online payment?

    No they do not.

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes. They have a nice patio and usually bring a bowl of water for our dog when we're there.

Was this formerly known as the Pantry Shelf in the 80's?

    No. Thomas's

My family and I are having a debate: is it VIP's as in Very Important Person, or is it VIP's as in someone named Vip owns the place? In other words, should we pronounce each letter of VIP or is it more of a roll-off-the-tongue Vip's?

Lol it’s called V I P by all of us in the valley as far as I know. I hope this helps you!! :-)

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

    No they don't :(

Located in the Encino Town Center, I am so happy that my daughter recommended this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is large, with numerous well-stocked tables and many more tables located outside for patio dining. There also appeared to be a mid-sized banquet room off to one side, behind closed doors, which several guests were exiting to use the restrooms. The entire staff was very friendly, hard-working, and attentive to each of their assigned tables. The specialty here is the waffles; however, their menu is HUGE!!! It offers guests a variety of other food options, including pancakes, salads, omelets, crepes, and more. My family and I ordered Nutella crepes, peach waffles, frittata, and seasoned potatoes. Each item was DELICIOUS, fresh, and well prepared. We plan to return here soon to try other great-sounding options on the menu. This was a very positive dining experience.

While the environment is nicely designed and looks great, the pleasant experience ended as soon as I walked in and ordered. The service was slow and overall terrible. The staff was completely unhelpful when I asked for assistance with the wifi, making it a frustrating place to try to get any work done. The wifi was terribly slow and would not even open google. As for the coffee, my Americano was bland and overpriced. To make matters worse, the to-go cup was leaky, which just added to the frustration. I left feeling very unhappy and would not recommend this spot if you are looking for a fun time or a productive place to work. There are better options in the area.

I've tried the Waffles Benedict, Red Velvet Waffle, and the Matcha Waffle, which were all fantastic. The Waffles Benedict, which came with ham and poached eggs, was my personal favorite (the eggs were the perfect runniness; compliments to the chef!). There is also plenty of seating including chairs and booth options, so larger parties, families with kids, or couples can have a comfortable place to dine. As for the prices, the food ranges within the $20s range (any extra add-ons like eggs, ham, etc. cost a few dollars more). I would say this is pretty typical for an LA restaurant, although it may come off as a bit "pricey" for non-locals or travelers. However, they do offer a very diverse menu, so there is definitely something that everyone could enjoy.

We reviewed what others had recommended prior to ordering and decided on the Texas Style Chicken and Waffles along with the Combo Burrito (with bacon and Polish sausage). Both were a winner! And to drink we enjoyed a Lavender Iced Latte and a French Vanilla Iced Latte...both also spot on! The reason I deducted a star and only gave 4 stars instead of 5 and this is a BIG pet peeve of mine that I'm noticing more restaurants doing is setting their mobile credit card machines to include tax on tips! The tip % should ALWAYS be on the subtotal however in these restaurants' desire to make life more "convenient" with the pre-set Tip options (e.g 18%, 20%, 22%), they are knowingly setting their machines to include the tax in hopes that most people likely won't catch it. I'm usually good at calculating it myself but in my haste today, simply hit the default 20% button and only realized when I got home and doubled checked the bill. Also, I don't feel they should charge more for a non-dairy milk alternative as a lot of folks have milk allergies like myself...even most of the other coffee houses don't charge for milk alternatives anymore. At an already pricey $8.49 and $7.49 for these two lattes, it's unnecessary to gouge another $0.75 for Oatmilk. Hopefully the owner sees this and will consider adjusting both.
