Came to Virtue + Vice and it was delicious! A little confusing because they have two entrances and it was unclear which was the front of the restaurant. I sat in their back patio section and weather was beautiful. Ordered the virtue spritz which was refreshing and full of ginger flavor. The breaking bread was good as a focaccia. Also had the truffle fries which were outstanding, the brussel sprouts which were perfectly caramelized and the mac and cheese we for appetizers. Everything came out hot and yummy. I also had the chicken Marsala which was rich and full of mushroom flavor. I definitely enjoyed it and ate every last bite! Ended with the olive oil cake and it was warm and had a good lemon flavor.

Came here for brunch and it was such a treat. We were the only ones I the place when they opened which was so nice and relaxing for a Sunday morning. We started with The WF Up cocktail which was delicious and I love that they offer different flavors, I had the salted Carmel . Then for brunch I had the croque madame which was delicious egg cooked to perfection and the ham inside the sandwich had a great crisp. The Friatta came out bubbly hot and fantastic. We both devoured our food it was a perfect Sunday morning brunch.

My friend and I aren't picky eaters and we do like going to places and trying a whole bunch of items so we can experience different dishes at once. We are actually very easy to please, so that's why it's a bummer that I had to give 2 stars. I'll start off with the positive though. The service was outstanding! Our server was extremely welcoming from the second we walked in. He was polite, attentive, caring, and extremely considerate. He went out of his way to give us great service and then some just by observing. For example, my friend and I were sharing our dishes, so we served ourselves from the big main plates and transferred what we were going to eat into small appetizer plates. We didn't want to bother anyone by asking for bigger plates. He noticed and brought us bigger plates so we would have more room to eat. That was so thoughtful. He always made sure our drinks were filled. I would definitely give him 10 stars for service!! Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment and not worth any kind of return trip. 1. Brioche French Toast: This was the only dish that was tasty and acceptable, however it was very basic. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything to be wow'd over and warrant us wanting to come back for it. 2. Mushroom Cheese Omelette: I feel like people always eat with their eyes first. It was the most depressing looking plate. At least add some garnish on top of the omelette to make it look appetizing. It didn't taste better than it looked either. The omelette was dry and hard and there was hardly any cheese. It was filled mostly with mushrooms and arugula and had zero flavor. The breakfast potatoes were terrible, I'm sorry to say. They were hard and so many pieces were absolutely uncooked. They had no taste, but most importantly, they should be cooked. 3. Shakshouka: We were looking forward to this, but this was a letdown as well. The poached eggs were over cooked so we didn't get the nice runny yolk one expects from this dish. The pita bread was also hard and cold. It would have been better if the pita bread had been soft at least. 4. Smashed Burger: The burger was dry and it felt like the meat was either extremely old or cooked previously and just warmed up when ordered. The truffle aioli was basically mayonnaise. We were expecting a nice juicy burger with a flavorful aioli. 5. Truffle fries: We ordered truffle fries with the burger instead of the regular fries it comes with. We were charged $3 extra for "truffle" fries (the charge was fine and we were informed of it when we ordered), however there was nothing truffle about it. They seemed to just sprinkle some dried seasonings on it with some Parmesan and call it "truffle" fries. If you look at the picture, there was hardly any seasoning and Parmesan either. So ultimately, it was just plain French fries. We had been planning on trying 2 or 3 dessert dishes too, but seeing how the main food tasted, we changed our minds. We really wanted to love this place, and it started off so promising with our server! Again, he was phenomenal and an absolute gem. The food was just not great, from the raw potatoes to the tasteless omelette to the dry hard burger meat to the overcooked eggs.

A quaint little restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious. Personalized menus by typing the name of the birthday celebrant. Gotta try the flight of Mac and cheese.

Had quite a nice dinner here with The In-Laws. They are meat eaters, which was convenient for the meat heavy menu here. Dishes consumed included rigatoni alla Tikka masala, a very competent crossover dish, V + V tacos, salmon, and an order of broccolini for The Wife, following yummy rosemary focaccia. I asked if they had yellow chartreuse, and they were able to make me my favorite cocktail, a naked and famous. Solid food choices, more heavy on meat than I might have liked, but the salmon sufficed. The drink and wine menu was nice, if not overly impressive.

Food was amazing. Our server Shaha was very attentive and made sure always kept an eye on our table. This place has a really good ambiance, great for date nights. They also have a great cocktail selection.

Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing and literally a mess. Our server was very sweet, but we could immediately tell she was a new server at Virtue +Vice, or perhaps new to the industry, as her hands were quite shaky, and she wasn't too familiar with the menu. I ordered my usual cocktail, Tito's Cosmopolitan, and hubs ordered an Old Fashioned. Our server returned with our drinks, and as she placed my husband's drink on the table, the Cosmopolitan on her tray tipped, and the drink spilled right down the front of my cream-colored silk blouse. We knew our server felt bad and tried to clean it up, but instead, she ended up wiping whatever liquid was on the table right onto my lap (smh). Sadly, this alone set the tone for dinner, and we didn't have an enjoyable time at all. Oh, and to top it off, we were also charged for the spilled drink. We brought it to our server's attention, and it was removed. Regrettably, this entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths, and we haven't had the desire to return since. Hopefully, other Yelpers had a much better experience.

Beautiful place, amazing unique menu that changes every season, delicious cocktails that are not only unique and delicious but also beautiful! Very personable staff and friendly! Everything was so good, that I forgot to take a picture of the food! Ambiance is perfect for date night out, friends hanging out or a birthday party! Highly recommend!

A vast and diverse menu here at Virtue + Vice. Lots of small plates....great for sharing so you can taste all they have to offer. The drinks are super unique and yummy too! Mac and cheese trio is a MUST Nice outdoor seating and very friendly/attentive staff! I will be back to try the popcorn chicken because they were out when I visited :(

First time here! I did not realize this place replaced the old restaurant here, which was one of my all time favorite places. Read the reviews before coming here to try it for myself and I'm so glad I tried it still! We made a reservation ahead of time since it was a Thursday and we weren't sure if it'll be busy or not. The dining area was empty and we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. It was a beautiful day out, so we opted for patio seating. The interior was neat and beautiful. The patio outside the restaurant was stunning, but we decided to sit towards the far back near the sidewalk. It was nicely set up! Our hostess was also our server. Super friendly and attentive. She gave us great drinks and food recommendations! We were visiting a few places for drinks and appetizers and this was our first stop. Our appetizers and cocktails were delicious! We will definitely be back for a full meal next time! If you haven't tried Virtue+Vice yet, you need to visit it yourself! What we ordered: Testing peach face Spring fling Fried mac n cheese bites Truffle fries

    Awesome experience!

Ask the Community - Virtue + Vice

Do you have outside patio seating and is it dog friendly?

When I went they were in the process of completing the back dining patio area. If the dog is well behaved I'm sure it could work for the space. Whether or not they allow a dog back there I'm not sure. I'd just call and ask.

To drink, we had passionfruit mimosas, the maitai (the non-classic one), the chi chi, and the painless (mocktail). All were delicious and beautifully presented. To eat, we shared the Spam musubi. Another lovely presentation! The ratio of Spam to rice to seaweed was balanced and came with a tasty sauce drizzled overtop and a different one on the side. For brunch entrees, we had the ube waffles (one as is and one with chicken katsu), the kalua pork breakfast sandwich? And the poke bowl. The ube waffles are unique and delicious! They are topped with whipped cream, ube syrup, and a fresh fruit salsa; all complemented the waffles well. The chicken katsu was perfectly coated in panko and fried well. The poke was refreshing and came with crunchy pickled vegetables, edamame, and avocado; which was a healthy and tasty brunch dish! The Kalua pork breakfast sandwich was hearty and savory, and the potato salad completed the plate nicely. We finished our meal with the Hula pie. Must get, even if you don't have room! If you're looking for a great brunch spot with delicious island inspired food and a lovely patio (dog-friendly), make sure to check out Kaia's!

Once we had the food they were often checking in on us and refilling water and drinks. The drinks were very good, the mai tai and chi chi were exactly what was needed! Now the food... very disappointed. The ohana beef stew tasted very bland, and didn't have much of a Hawaiian flavor or vibe, felt like it could have been an Irish stew with the chunks of beef and veggies in a dark brown sauce. The ramen was very salty, and it didn't have much going for it either. The teriyaki chicken we added onto it was fine, but the flavor got lost once it went into the broth. I'm used to getting mac salad at a Hawaiian place so I was interested and excited to try a potato salad and cole slaw. The potato salad had a lot of flavor, but it did seem a little salty. The coleslaw might have been the best thing I ate there ... the pineapple chunks in it were very refreshing. I'd come back for a drink, and maybe an appetizer but I don't think I'd get an entree again.

I have been CRAVING (!!!!) a few of the items on the menu! The calamari, scallops, lobster - chef's kiss! The steak? Mouthwatering. I know this is a seafood restaurant, but our waiter advised the ownership is the same as Forbes Mill (also in Danville) and if you've ever been there, you know it's probably the best steak that you can find in the east bay, and the steak at Tides is the same quality. Despite going on Valentine's Day when it was extremely busy, our waiter and the kitchen did a fantastic job. We never felt like service suffered and they were incredibly on top of everything from start to finish. Our waiter gave us amazing recommendations from food items, to cocktails, and wine pairings, and was just so warm and friendly. The restaurant itself is so nicely decorated and I love the modern and trendy take. Given the location, I was expecting it to have a more traditional aesthetic, and I'm so impressed with the direction they went with it.
