Fabrice is amazing! I have very curly hair and have had some stylists really butcher my curls so I'm pretty picky about the salons I go to. Lindsey Little is amazing and I am so happy I found her. I had been going to the same hair dresser for 9+ years and was recently really unhappy with my hair. As my highlights were growing out I hated the harsh lines. On top of the harsh lines near my root, I was also finding sloppy, uneven, patchy and chunky lines throughout my hair. I told Lindsey I wanted to still be blonde but have a more natural look with less lines. Lindsey gave me a bunch of baby lights and did shadowing to blend and fill in the gaps. On top of loving my new hair color I loved the overall experience- Lindsey and her assistant Katie were so welcoming and fun to be around. I followed Paula from Liquid and felt it was high time I take the time to review her! I started going to her almost a year ago, wanting to change up my hairstyle. She cut a good five inches off of my hair and convinced me to take it up above my shoulders. I have gotten SO MANY compliments over the year about my hair. Every time I go in to get it cut she manages to switch it up slightly, yet still keep it consistent. I have very thin hair, but the cut she gave me makes it look thicker than it actually is. The Viselli Santoro Salon is bright and clean, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful, the coffee is great and the shampoo girl gives an amazing head rub. I also enjoy their online appointment booking option - makes my life so much easier to see when Paula is available rather than playing the booking game with the receptionist (well, I am available XY and Z. -Nope she's booked, what about LM or N? Nope.....) And, the icing on the cake is the pricing. I was worried when Paula moved to a salon on Newbury that I would have to find a new stylist due to budget constraints, but Paula's prices are still very much affordable. read more

Kashmir is great and when I moved to Boston I tired a bunch of other stylists and salons until upon a friends referral I made an appointment with Kashmir. I have since referred her to a lot of friends (and not just for the referral discount!). In all honesty I would have probably followed Kashmir wherever she went to but I really like Viselli Santoro. I started going to Lindsey this past winter... I had never quite been satisfied with the tone and dimension of my blonde highlights, and felt confident given what I'd seen on her Instagram that she could help me achieve my dream color. At the time, I had darker extensions in, and she explained we'd need to overhaul those to match my highlights if I wanted to go super light. So we did... and oh. My. God. I'm so glad we did. I can honestly say I've never been more happy with my hair in my life. These extensions are lightweight and the quality of the hair is incredible... but Lindsey is also just a pro at artfully installing them. She offered guidance while picking out the colors with me during the consultation and a lot of thought into how she placed them so that they looked multi-dimensional and natural, blending nicely with the length and color of my own natural hair. I was thrilled with the quality and value of the cut and style I received. I was on my way to a photo shoot, and my hair stayed beautiful for hours! It's rare to find an affordable salon of this caliber in the Back Bay - I was happily surprised. :) My stylist was Julie, who not only did an excellent job, but with whom I had a pleasant, down-to-earth conversation. I will definitely be coming back, and I'm strongly considering visiting the salon for my upcoming wedding in July... UPDATE (8/9/11): I had my wedding, and (not surprisingly) my hair turned out fantastically. This time my stylist was Cristina, one of the co-owners, who is clearly an expert at updos. Earlier in the month, I went in for a trial, and she put together something we both loved on the first try (though we experimented a little afterward just to be sure). Then, on the day of the wedding, she followed her instincts and modified the look to give it a bit more volume, and I'm glad she did. I received many compliments on it, and I couldn't be happier with the pictures, plus the fact it stayed put all day/night. Mediocre experience with poor results for a hefty price. Best to choose a different stylist or a different salon. I wanted to go to a salon that complies with covid precautions and Viselli came highly recommend from a friend. I liked the safety measures placed in the salon and truly felt they did a great job managing the pandemic. But my experience with hair care was poor. I went in for highlights and color to cover my grey hair, a hair cut and blow dry. The stylist was sloppy and slow in her work, often pulling my hair hard, and definitely not listening to what I was asking for. I ended up with a color much lighter than what I wanted and had talked about and my grays were not covered at all! Other parts of my head were heavily highlighted and other parts barely touched. The grey hair was all there obviously to the eye. The hair cut was fair but the blow dry was again below average and my hair was tangled. I left and didn't have that great feeling of "I just left the salon rejuvenated". It was overall such a disappointing experience for the wrong price tag of $360! And now I have to go for color repair and have another more skilled hair stylist to cover the grey hair...I do not recommend this salon and this stylist. read more

I am so happy about my visit to Viselli the other night, I am ready to cry. I have processed (blonde), straight and extremely heavy hair with heavy bangs. It's a skill to cut hair like mine. The haircut I got at Viselli is the best one I have gotten in the last 15 years! Lindsey was so thoughtful through our consultation process. I made a terrible decision to buy a Groupon for a cut and single process color at another salon. My hair came out uneven and there were chunks of hair missing, among other issues. Needless to say, I was really upset and angry at how things turned out. I'm so happy that I made an appointment with Adrianna to fix the mess. She thoroughly consulted me on how we could best get my hair looking acceptable and then continue growing it out after the previous disaster. She instantly made me feel better, and I ended up with a haircut that I'm happy with, given the situation. Jessie works hair magic every time! She is hands down the best stylist I have ever seen. I have really warm undertones due to my naturally red hair, but I prefer my color to be blonde with a cool undertone. This isn't easy to achieve as proven by my previous experiences with other stylists (Orange roots- ew). With other stylists, I've always felt like i was relying on a hope and a prayer that my color would come out right and when it didn't I would hope for better next time in an effort to not make a fuss. I found this place on yelp. Tim cut my hair. I would say he did a pretty good job, he was chatty and nice to speak to. I went from mid length hair to almost a blunt cut. He did good job with layers. They charged me $82 for hair wash, hair cut and blow dry which I thought was a little pricey, but the haircut was good enough for me not to complain about it. I tried online to "Sign Up" but there was only a Sign In option (how do you expect to get new clients online?), I called several times during a span of an hour and would only get a loud beeping through the phone or a busy tone. There was no way to leave a message so finally I emailed the salon and was not responded to for another day or so and in this email was simply asked what I wanted with no apologies for how annoying it was to get a response from them in the first place. This was my first time going to this salon and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Everyone was so friendly and very accommodating. Tim was my stylist and I'm so beyond happy we got paired together since my hair desperately needed help and he fixed it perfectly. I had gotten blonde balayage back in the winter, so the color was completely grown out and the cut itself was pretty out of control. I had a lot of unevenness throughout my hair and I wanted to return to my natural color. Tim perfectly matched my natural hair color with the darker color he chose for my hair, and evened out the cut so it actually looks styled and healthy now. I'm so happy with my experience and I will definitely be returning in the next few months for another visit with him! read more

I LOVED my recent appointment with Constantina. I literally walked into the salon with dark red berry hair and came out with a blonde balayage. I initially called the salon for a color consult and as soon as I met with her, I could tell she was confident and was really skilled with color. I told her I eventually wanted to go blonde and I knew that it was going to be a process. I walked in with the expectation of coming out with a strawberry blondeish hair and she worked with my hair and we got to the blonde! She was amazing! I have been a customer for a little over three years. They had one front receiptionist who was terrible and she left only to be replaced by another horrible receiptionist, Katie (The only good receiptionist they have ever had is Rue-who is super friendly and very nice). When I called to complain about how rude Katie had been to me and the fact that Katie HUNG UP ON ME, I spoke with owner Cristina Viselli who showed me SUCH disrespect to a loyal customer that I still cannot believe she behaved the way she did. She did not apologize for anything, but rather said (in a very arrogant, cold manner) she thought I was dissatisfied with salon so it would be best if I did not return. Really? Guess you do not need my business. She also didn't like the fact that I kept track of my points which apparently they just care about people spending money, not that they redeem their points. As a side note about the points: They change them yearly and make it less of a gain for the customer to use them so if you have them, use them ASAP b/c before years end, they will change them. Also, when you buy hair products, make sure you get your 10% off. They are infamous for forgetting to give that to you. They are ALL about money and don't really care about their customers saving money or getting best deal for their points. They also always try to tell the customers they like to yelp them and give them good reviews. If your business was good enough, you shouldn't have to do that. It's also very gossipy in there (like high school) so watch out for that- if they don't like you which they didn't really like me- they will gossip about you and ultimately treat you the way they treated me. I am SO disgusted with the lack of customer service and LACK of EMPATHY I received from this co-owner that I will NEVER step foot in this salon again, and apparently, she doesn't want me to either. I have never been treated SO poorly, and I will never forget how she made me feel. For the amount of money I have spent at this salon, I should never have been treated this way. But not even for the amount of money, it's more than that. It's human deciency. You shouldn't have your employees treating customers poorly, with attitudes, and hanging up the phone on them. As soon as they don't like you, and you give them your name, watch out: you WILL be treated poorly like I was. I will never enter this salon again. I will be taking my business to a better salon that actually has good customer service and values loyalty to a customer who had been coming to you since you opened your doors. Shame on you, Viselli Santoro salon. ***UPDATE 5/4/14*** I knew that Viselli Santoro was going to do something sly but really did you need to do this? If you look at "ANNIE G" profile, this is definitely someone from the salon who posted this (really, how sad are you?) If you take a look, the person or persons are clever though, b/c they wrote other reviews so you would think it's a real profile and not a FAKE one that it actually is. This "ANNIE G" has started yelping however, since May 2014, ahem, a few days after I wrote my review...how convenient?! And if you look at the 8 reviews "ANNIE G" has written, they were ALL written on SAME DAY as the review for Viselli Santoro, on purpose to try to make people think its a real profile. In addition, if you read my review and then read "ANNIE G" review, you will notice that the person is trying to cover up their LACK of CUSTOMER SERVICE by trying to highlight that they give good customer service (what a joke!) Also, "ANNIE G" talks about V.S.'s "amazing" rewards program and the 10% discount, both topics which I discuss in my review. Do you really think people are foolish and do not know what you do? Please do not underestimate us. You put a fake profile to try to build your business when you shouldn't have to do that. You should have happy customers who you treat properly post reviews for your company, not you! Wow, so crazy. I am so happy I will not be coming to this "business" anymore. Good luck surviving in your business with how poorly you treat guests and then make fake profiles. So sad. Cristina Viselli destroyed my hair. This is still really emotional for me and I keep wanting to write a very long review, but I think the pictures show what I can't seem to be able to say. Please feel free to contact me if you want the full story. Instead I will just say this: For the last month I continue wondering if Cristina Viselli intentionally destroyed my hair. I can't imagine how a professional, and with such good reviews, could do this to someone's hair. Cristina gave me the opposite of what I asked for, as well as cut off more hair than we agreed to. And my hair is fried -- my whole head is split ends -- which I think is because Cristina neglected to put heat protectant in my hair and then turned the flat iron up way too high, even though I asked about the heat proctectant twice. My hair looks horrible no matter what I try to do it. I have extra layers on one side of my head (the top layer on one side is a full inch or so shorter than on the other). While still in the salon, I stated that I did not like my hair cut. I also could see my hair looked uneven and kept asking in various ways to have my hair look even, and she said she wouldn't cut any more of my hair because she wanted me to like my hair (?). Now I know it's because she actually cut my hair unevenly. After straightening my hair, she must have known she messed up, but rather than fixing it then and there, she ushered me out of the salon. A close friend of mine works for a Vidal Sassoon and told me she only checked the layers on one side and not the other, and the hackjob in the front is just laziness. I have had to have about 10 inches of hair cut off, from the first to now, to have my hair fixed, as well as having spent several hundred dollars between the fix it cut and product/treatments and am still waiting for the remaining damage to break off. read more

I've never been so compelled to write such a negative comment but this experience was truly beyond terrible and I would think twice before coming here! After tons of research I decided to go in and have my hair done by Stacy for an OMBRE look but instead she took it upon herself to give me a full head of highlights. I was unhappy with the color and went back to have her fix it, however she ended up bleaching my hair again. (I came in for an ombré look) I trusted her with my hair but apparently she's completely oblivious to the fact that the ombré look is particularly the ends that are dyed and not the full head reaching towards my roots! Her reasoning for going too high??? My hair had too many different colors, once again I went in for an OMBRE!! The next day I washed it for the first time and noticed my hair breaking off and stretching as I combed it something I've never experienced before-- MY HAIR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED!!!!PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE GOING HERE!!!! THEY HAVE GREAT REVIEWS AND THIS IS WHAT ATTRACTED ME TO THIS PLACE BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY HAIR WAS DESTROYED! Surprisingly, I get a phone call 2 days after from one of the owners checking how I was feeling about Stacy's correction.. I told her i was very unhappy with it and that my hair was beyond damaged.. So Christiana was nice enough to have me come in for a complimentary deep conditioning treatment.. I went in a few days later and had Laurie the other owner fix my hair by covering the highlights around my face and crown.. She applied a glaze/toner.. The color came out good and i kept asking her if the glaze would fade, she assured me it would but not fast enough.. Three weeks goes by and the glaze/toner starts to fade around face/crown. I go back for a deep conditioning due to all the damage from Stacy's job and showed where it was fading so they applied the glaze which i agreed but they suggested to go darker this time. Bottom line, the glaze they reapplied was much darker than the previous one, it wasn't applied evenly and now i have 5 different colors (around crown, face, back).. What was the point of Stacy touching my crown again for the thousandth time??!?!? I ended up leaving with chopped hair (from Stacy's wonderful bleaching job ) and black glaze/toner. Words cannot express how upsetting and frustrating this entire process has been.. I've spent almost 400 dollars, YES almost 400 BUCKS from this entire nightmare and bottom line is that my hair was destroyed throughout this entire process. Now I'm left with short, black hair and a terrible orange tint to the highlights!! Don't believe me?? Since I moved to Boston a year ago I've been trying out whatever salons groupon, buywithme, gilt city, and livingsocial have to offer. I love the idea of trying a place without making a full price commitment, but from Southie to Downtown to Newbury street I couldn't find a stylist I wanted to stay loyal to. That is until the fateful day I walked into Viselli Santoro and was matched up with Adriana...1 hour and she's got me down on my knee pledging salon/stylist monogamy. I made an appointment for a Friday after work and after a stressful day in the office I found euphoria at this salon. The atmosphere was chic yet comfortable and I didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds after checking in before I was lounging with my head in a sink. The woman who washed my hair gave me a heavenly scalp massage that melted my work day away, and then followed up with a glass of wine - by the time I got to Adrianna's chair I was already lovestruck and humming along to the fabulous Pandora station they had playing. Adrianna was personable and easy to talk to, but not overly chatty - I could tell she was concentrating on her task at hand. I don't have difficult hair, but I do have a lot of it and Adrianna knew exactly what to do with it. I was pleasantly surprised when the cut was followed up by a 30 minute blow-dry during which Adrianna added some serious body and curl to my locks. I felt as though she was taking her time and ensuring that I felt awesome when I walked out the door, as opposed to rushing me like most stylists do with customers using a voucher. After the cut and blow-dry I was expecting a sales pitch pushing products, referrals and follow up appointments - Adrianna let her work speak for it's self and my hair was speaking volumes. When I went to pay I asked the girl at the counter what a cut with Arianna costs so I could tip on the full price - I didn't believe my ears when she said $45! I had already vowed that she was the stylist for me and was bracing myself for a $100 haircut commitment. At that moment I knew I could kiss my Groupon haircuts goodbye! read more
