We had both dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was okay with a bit of slow service - the servers pushed for the buffet, but they weren't good at filling some of the basics like potatoes. The omelette station was good - it allowed toppings to be picked, and the line wasn't long (unlike the embassy, that tends to get long lines). Fruits were ok, I wish they had berries but it was melons and pineapple. Dinner was good overall - we ordered pasta primavera, pizza, grilled cheese, and a nice addition was a side of watermelon for kids cheese sandwich - I suppose it is a popular place during summer. A very nice hotel restaurant inside the Park Vista by Doubletree. A spacious and open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows over looking the indoor pool or the BlueRidge Mountains depending on where you sit. I had the pleasure of dining here twice during my stay. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both were excellent experiences. The dinner was first, probably the best pork chop I've ever had. Cajun seasoned and so tender you could almost cut it with a fork! Some grilled veggies all on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. Just amazing! I did the breakfast buffet the next day and wow, what a line up. Fresh cut and whole fruit station, a cereal bar with many different kinds including oatmeal. And the pastry and yogurt oh my, where do I begin. But the hot foods were the hit of the Buffett. Scrambled Eggs, bacon sausage potatoes pancakes biscuits and gravy. They don't make a plate big enough to hold all that lol. In addition to all that you can order custom made eggs and omelettes right there. Also when asking server questions about beers on the menu she had no idea about styles and then brought the wrong style of beer to the table. It was nice to have a place to eat while staying at the Park Vista. The buffet was a nice bonus. You could order room service but we wanted to come out and be social. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. My kids loved the variety. Price wasn't too bad at all with kids under 12 $7ish each and adults $16+. A nice variety of fruits, breads, meats, and a great omelette area. My kiddo asked for cheese scrambled eggs and she said they were the best! We'd come back. For breakfast. Vista Grill is the restaurant at the bottom of the doubletree hotel in Gatlinburg. Plenty of parking around for the hotel. The Vista had an indoor and outdoor space. Outdoors has an amazing view. The sliders were okay, plenty of fries. I wish the sliders came toasted or on toasted bread instead of the mini buns right out of a package. Drinks were good and servers were very nice! It was ok. Definitely don't come here if you aren't staying at the hotel. It served the purpose of us not having to go out and find dinner in Gatlinburg. The fries were honestly the best thing we had. The pasta with salmon and pasta with chicken was just ok. The kids loved their grilled cheese and burgers. During our Tennessee trip my friend suggested a meal in this restaurant located in the Park Vista, a Doubletree by Hilton hotel. We were staying at a hotel a bit further down the mountain. It is a really steep drive up to the hotel but once you get to the top you are rewarded with sweeping views of the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg down below. The view is the best reason to dine here. The Vista Grill is a full service restaurant serving American fare. The menu includes steaks, chops, chicken, sandwiches, and salads. You can dine inside or on the terrace with the gorgeous mountain view. If you are staying in the hotel you can get room service and they are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The color scheme of the restaurant is burnt orange, tan, and brown, with wood tables, chairs, and benches. The restaurant is fine but if weather permits, I would recommend sitting on the outside terrace. For our dinner my friend and I started out with some refreshing Midori based cocktails. After hiking all day in the mountains we were famished so we both had the burgers and fries. Portions were huge and delicious and prices are reasonable considering this is a hotel restaurant. The burgers were cooked perfectly to our specifications. Service was very friendly and the hearty meal was just what we were craving. If you are not staying at this hotel it is worth a drive up the mountain to have cocktails and an appetizer or a meal and to take in the view. read more

It's Okay if you are hungry and don't want to travel in crowded roads and wait at crowded restaurants. Food was cooked as I would probably cook it which is not saying a lot. Server was not very friendly and didn't check on us enough, even though restaurant was not busy. I can't stand restaurants that want to automatically charge 20%, because it obviously discourage servers to give their best service knowing they made money on the table. A little bit of snow so we decided to eat in. I've had 2 meals here so far, breakfast and brunch/dinner. I was wondering about how breakfast was going to be served in this world of covid. Well, they did an outstanding job. Everybody wears masks and glove. You order your breakfast (eggs to order) and they serve you whatever you request. Like pre covid, the buffet bfast was awesome. So we decided to try the buffet brunch. Stricter rules applied for that meal. You go get what you want BUT you wear gloves, mask, social distancing etc. Very well done. OK, about the food. Crab legs, salmon, roast beef, ravioli, OMG, so much food. Huge menu. I must say, everything was unbelievable. We ate so much food, we didn't need anything else the rest of the day. Way to spend Christmas day. But we weren't done yet. They also had desserts. Pecan pie, apple cobbler, cheese cake, etc. We had a few of those. Everything was very good. I should have taken some pictures but I was too busy eating. Take my word. The staff was really working hard to keep everyone served and happy. The were courteous, attentive and very pleasant. Kudos to the staff and the management staff also. So, in a nut shell, the food here was awesome. The service was awesome. Covid rules were followed and it was a safe as it could be. I heard that breakfast was nice at the grill but I want for dinner. Our waiter didn't really understand my English and wasn't able to let me know about substitutions due to my dietary needs. The dinner that I ordered was a short rib with mashed potatoes and the person was with me got a salad. They gave a lot of food but it was under seasoned. I eventually ended up throwing it up in my room. Usually that means something wasn't right. Never went back for food only beverages. read more

Good food at reasonable prices. We were a little surprised at the prices since it was inside the hotel, but overall they were fair. The soups were very good & the entrees were good as well. A couple of the items, especially the French onion soup, were a little heavy on the salt. The server was average and seemed a little rushed even though there were only 3 tables with customers & he was only taking care of two of them. The runner from the kitchen was very friendly & kind. When I asked for more spinach, they brought me a bowl of uncooked spinach leaves. We have really enjoyed the first day of our 4 night stay at the Park Vista doubletree hotel. Their restaurant, the Park Grill has been very good. We had breakfast there this morning and they had a very good buffet with made to order eggs and Belgian waffle, fresh fruit and yogurt, pastries, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bacon and sausage, etc. We had dinner there tonight, could see a nice view from our table and hear the entertainment in the lobby. We both had shrimp Florentine and it was quite good. My only complaint is that we had to wait to receive our bill, and we went up to pay, had to wait for someone to come back to the desk both times. Otherwise the service was quick and friendly. Also another complaint is the menu is a bit pricey. Like 3 to 5 dollars more expensive than you think it's worth. Breakfast buffet was 13 pp. There was a dinner seafood buffet that was 25 pp, but we ordered off menu, and our pasta was 17pp with no side or bread. We got water and our bill came to 45 with a 20% tip. So it's a bit pricey and the hotel is too far from town to get to when you're pregnant and hungry and need to eat NOW. ten minute trolley ride to town, but have to wait 20 minutes for it most times. All in all, much better experience than the other reviewers so far on here. read more
