So second time we get there at 7:28 pm as soon as we got out of class and same person said kitchen was closed.. We really wanted to grab a snack before heading home, but we could only get drinks. I would give this place 0 stars if possible, but just had a horrible experience on a Saturday night here at this location. Hours of operation clearly state that Vivi closes at 11PM. Was really looking forward to having a bubble tea before I went home tonight after a long day's work. Extremely obvious the girl who works on Saturday nights is terrible. Do not say you close at 11PM when your employees obviously clean up throw/put away all the tea at 10:30 out of convenience to themselves. You should say you close at 10:30 then. ‍ All I received was some psychotic girl yelling a me at 10:45PM that "THERE WAS NO TEA! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE TEA!!!!" Don't know. I tried the almond milk tea the other day- a large with tapioca because of a free medium to large upgrade check-in on Yelp. The tea itself was decent- I've had better almond tea before, but the tapioca was very...strange. The texture was completely off- they seemed to fall about in your mouth without much/any chewing at all, which defeats the whole purpose of the bubbles to begin with. read more

I never had any trouble with any bubble tea stores besides this one particularly. So at first I ordered and used my card to pay. The women in front swiped my card and said that the card didn't go through. Of course, I was surprised and asked why she said that she wasn't sure. She asked the owner what she should do because she was having trouble. So during that time, I quickly checked my bank app to check if it actually didn't go through. However, before the information to load they swiped my card again and this time it went through. When my bank information had finally loaded. I saw that the place charged me twice and I told showed them and told them that they charged me twice. The owner had the nerve to tell me that even though it says process it doesn't exactly tell you that it went through. I was so annoyed with his attitude but I didn't cause trouble because all I was thinking was I should head to the bank to ask what's wrong. When I got to the bank, thankfully I got it all sorted out and got my money back. So I recommend people to not use card there and pay cash because I don't want others to have the same experience as I did. read more

Vivi's is the worst boba in the city. I don't even think I've been to Vivi's with any of my friends, because if we're craving boba, there's always another, better place nearby. Gong Cha, Chatime, Boba Guys, TK Kitchen, Coco's...the point is, you don't have to torture yourself with Vivi's mediocre boba when there are plenty of other options available. And if those other options aren't available, you should just wait, because patience is important and Vivi's is not worth it. Their food is also, unsurprisingly, astoundingly mediocre. The way I think of Vivi's is like, yes, they do have okay food and drinks which are consistently okay. But you could also just make the trip to another place that does it better. No, I've never been anywhere else that offers takoyaki and boba in the same place, but if I really needed that exact combo, I would rather have a quick meal at Kenka and walk over to Coco's after. I love Vivis! My go to drinks are peach pulp, passion fruit, or mango tea. The employees are always nice and the place is usually empty (12:30pm - 1:30pm is usually when it gets somewhat crowded with high school kids). I've tried their popcorn chicken which I did not care for and takoyakis. I love their takoyakis and the best part is they're only $2! They also have free wifi, the password can be found on a small piece of paper by the cash register. It wasn't fast when I tried it to use it but free wifi is always a plus. I love ViVi and I've pretty much been to all of them but this is the worst one. They never fill the drinks all the way up. There is almost always little to no flavor which is very different than the other locations. Most importantly they are so rude!!! The 23rd St. location has coconut jelly and I tried to order it at this location and got yelled at. Everytime I pass by a bubble tea shop, I can't help but walk in and get a taste of my delicious Taiwanese culture. I got the 3Q milk tea with less sugar and ice and cotton candy on top. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and they even let me eat my dessert in there or they didn't notice. Employees seem nice and speak mandarin too! I'm a big fan of the ViVi chain, particularly their black milk tea with boba and either herb/grass jelly or custard; sometimes I get the Q3 which includes all three options. This location is as good as the others, which I've reviewed. However, the only big difference is that the seating setup doesn't seem great to me. I don't recall there being more than one or possibly two tables; it was mostly just a bench along one side of the store. I love the Passion Fruit QQ I usually order a Large cause it's not that much more expensive. The one thing about this place is that sometimes you feel a little awkward. Like sometimes I order something and go grab a sit to put my things in order and they yell the order. Which I know is only to grab your attention that your order is ready but it's like their bothered if you don't go straight to the counter in a flash to pick up your drink. They also talk to each other in a different language which makes you feel like their talking about you. Aside from that they sometimes put the music up so loud that you can't even have a conversation with the person across the table from you. One of the few bubble tea places in the area, so it's convenient! I got the taro ice tea and it was $3.75.

I know milk tea is super subjective, but this is my favorite milk tea in the city. I always get the milk black tea with 30% sweetness and no ice, and it's always consistent. I like how the tea flavor comes through without being overpowering, and whatever dairy they use makes it creamy but not too rich. Hopefully ViVi will branch out to SF - otherwise I'll have to wait until my next NYC trip! read more

I love the bubble tea at Vivi's and very happy when it comes to the special 2/$4 promotions, but WHAT'S UP WITH THE EMPLOYEES' ATTITUDE there?? They barely ever smiles or greet you when you walk in, makes you feel like they are disgruntled workers already when the store recently opened and doing you a favor to have to serve you - especially the one girl with the eye issue, who is the most stuck up of them all. Even when I ask a question, I get the cold shoulders one answer response.I hate the thought of having to go into such a cold environment each time, but hell, I can't have enough bubble tea! To the owner of this location - this is not the 1st time someone has complained...seriously do something about it because a competitor opens up in the area. I've been here more times than I can count. Alright, Vivi does not top my list but does the trick. Sometimes this is what you want when all your go-to places are closed or closing for the night. When I've ordered from here though, service is prompt and gets the order right every single time. I don't venture beyond the usual suspects like (black) milk tea or passionfruit/mango QQ. QQ typically includes tapioca pearls, and some other jellies like coconut or rainbow.
