I called and manager Jason was very attentive and transferred me to talk to Isabell and she too was so nice and offered to pick up my special order sandwich from deli to add to my order. I called Deli and spoke to Brian and asked if he can make it like I wanted it so my son could eat with me being down with a broken foot. He was very understanding and got it ready for me. The manager of the deli department or worker named Carmen is dreadful. She is extremely rude not only to customers who have a simple question about products that she sells behind the counter but also to her staff. I was waiting for a kind deli clerk to finish cutting my cheese when i overheard her talking smack about the employee that was assisting me to another customer! I was completely dumbfounded. Never ever have I witnessed such harassment in the workplace and it definitely ruined the image of this vons for me. No longer feels welcoming. Nothing to do with the store itself just an employee. I think his name is Brody or something similar to that. I just watched him be rude and short with one customer after another. He looked annoyed by every person as If they were an inconvenience to him. When it was finally my turn to go up to the register I mentioned they didn't have a lot of salmon at the time and if he knew when we were getting more in. I just finished shopping for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner at Von's, located at Devonshire Street & Mason Avenue in Chatsworth. I just had to give them an excellent review for having fully stocked shelves with everything I needed and more! All of the other departments were fully stocked, too; my vegetable selection was on point. Very fresh yams, onions, and beautiful organic beets! Their staff was delightful and helpful as well. I don't know why, but it seems like I only find myself at this location late at night. Because of that, it's always a nice, laid back shopping experience. Sure, you have to sometimes move around employees restocking, but that's fine. I love the ability to wander the aisle not having to worry about moving around other customers. And believe it or not, even late at night the employees are all very friendly & helpful. So why wouldn't I want to do some late night shopping? read more

Just left Vons. The cashier rung my items, bagged them and left them in her counter area next to her. Then proceeded to ring the person behind me. I started placing the items in my cart and asked her "Do we (customers) have to place our items in the cart now." Her reply was non apologetic "most people prefer it, sorry." Solid grocery store. Place is clean. Bakery always stocked with goodies, the produce aisle is well-maintained and the deli also has some good options. Has a redbox, coinstar and Starbucks. Play a Monopoly game to do who knows what? 4. Download an App to get additional saving!!!!? Are you people insane!!!! I now will NOT even step foot in a Vons unless desperate. I do about $100-300 of grocery shopping a week! I will make sure that I don't even get coffee filters from you ($5-6 vs $2 for example). Had to pick up some last minute items on Christmas. Went to the bakery to pick up some dessert, worker was in the corner with her back to the counter. It was several minutes before she turned around. Picked up a tiramisu cake, I honestly didn't expect much from a grocery store cake but it was surprisingly good. After picking up a ton more items, I headed to check out. Here's where the problem lies. I am always super pleasant and friendly when I interact. I don't chat on unnecessarily, but I want the people helping me to know that I appreciate them. Especially having to work on the holiday. Checker said hi, slight smile. Ok, maybe she's tired and wants to go home. But the young lady bagging groceries, she seemed awfully miserable. No eye contact, didn't speak, nothing. I said thank you so much, have a great holiday. She wouldn't even look at me. This Vons is pretty big. I came here to buy fried chicken. They have a selection of home style or buffalo. The buffalo is a little spicy. My experience with the worker was a positive one. I want going to buy two pounds of friend chicken. It was $7.99 for 1 pound. She suggested that I buy a pound of each for some variety. I appreciated her initiative and took a pound of each. Don't order a cake from this Vons. I ordered it last week in person from a guy at the bakery. Spent at least 10 minutes with him confirming the details (Iron man and captain America, the filling, name on cake, THE DATE to be picked up, I sent my mom to pick up the cake today and it wasn't made. Only excuse was "the guy put the wrong date, sorry" (no further solutions suggested) Not mad at the other staff but they really need to have staff that pay attention and can fully duplicate what the customer is asking for. Last night I went to the Vons on Devonshire and Mason. I wish I had taken pictures of the empty shelves but I didn't. Looked like the store was going out of business or we just had a major disaster and people raided the shelves. I did however take a couple of pictures of the lines down the aisles. Caesar needs to be recognized for his hard work. Every single time I come to the store he's making great conversation with all the customers including me and he's very helpful. Tonight he reminded me that diapers were on sale because he sees me come in with my son all the time. He's such a nice guy. He's always there. This is my favorite grocery store...It's not the newest, or the best stocked, or the cheapest. But the people and service are incredible. They treat everyone with dignity, respect, and kindness. Some of the nicest people in the Valley work here. Talk to anyone from the people stocking shelves, to the deli, to the cashiers, they are just the salt of the earth. This VONS seems a lot smaller than the location in Granada Hills (on San Fernando Mission). This one seems identical to the North Hills location (Devonshire and Sepulveda) except that this location has a Starbucks. This grocery is fairly clean and seems fully stocked. I don't think I've ever come here looking for produce, and they were lacking. However, the produce prices are a lot more expensive than compared to Albertsons or Ralphs. read more

Pros: This Vons has a great Vegetarian/Organic section. I appreciate the wide variety this market has to offer, and enjoy taking my time though the various isles. This is my neighborhood Vons, and one of my favorite go-to stores when I am in a hurry.
