If you're worried about cleanliness in this era of COVID-19, this is really not the best market. I've been here a quite a few times since the pandemic began and I'm not impressed. I haven't seen anyone wiping down carts, no wipes to wipe down carts yourself (or clean your hands), and no hand sanitizer at check stands. Not sure what the proper protocol is for super markets, but it seems most other markets do a better. read more

I just wanted to say thank you to Gabby from the bakery section !!! She helped me design my daughter's birthday cake. My daughter wanted a ROBLOX theme cake but some of the quotes I got ranged from $175-$250!!! Instead I payed $50 for a 2-tiered cake that feed about 60 ppl. And used my daughter's ROBLOX toys are cake toppers. I described the type of cake I wanted and she knew exactly what to do! She even helped me place the toys on the cake when I picked it up... Im giving a 2 star because I go to cash a scratcher ticket and they tell me that I cant cash it there because its too much money $200 and ticket was bought there, that I need to go to a gas station or else where. As you walk in, you smell the horrible old lard where they fry all their unhealthy food options. You leave smelling like grease. I stopped going as it really grosses me out. My wife and I bought our house in Hacienda Heights 13 years ago and we are only 3 blocks away from Vons. My mom has always told me to be polite and to say thank you but it never fails when I purchase groceries at Vons their cashiers never say thank you. The managers and cashiers aren't very friendly and they never make me feel welcomed. I would rather drive 5 or 10 miles to another Grocery store than to stop at Vons. From time to time I'll stop by to pick up something quick like tonight and sure enough the cashier said here you go and I said thank you and the cashier failed to say thank you again. I talked to the manager tonight and told him every time I come here your cashiers never say thank you, he did apologize to me and said he'll talk with them. I'll do my best to drive 5 to 10 miles further to purchase my groceries somewhere else rather than to stop at Vons. read more

I felt compelled to write this review since this is the one only place where I feel I got real one on one service just like from my small town neighborhood meat cutter in Texas. I acknowledge and appreciate the high level of service I got from Rudy in the meat department at my Von's market and a pleasure to have met him. I had asked for a specific size and cut of a Rib Roast to feed eight of our guest. Rudy was very professional and eager to accommodate myself and my wife and explained to us the pros and cons of having the bones cut and tied. Besides the staff here at Von's are friendly and helpful and shelves well stocked. This is a great place to shop. Thank you again Rudy. read more

This Vons grocery store is severely understaffed every time I've gone there's a long line and they never have everything that they advertise the butchers pretty good that they have a bakery and I went in to get a rosca for the three wise men on January 6 that many Hispanic family celebrate after New Year's. I agree with the Erica C. & Anna T., this Vons rocks. I love their bakery(fresh baked donuts & baguettes) & produce (juicy apples & oranges) departments, they have such a wide variety of items. Everything is so gourmet, like their chesses (they have all kinds of stinky cheeses). I love being able to grab a starbucks while I cruise the aisles. I actually drive all the way from N. Whittier for this Vons. It's worth the trip because I buy my deli meats across the street at Hacienda Village Meats and I also frequent the local restuarnts, like Boiling Point & Malan noodles (read my reviews on these places). read more

It's unfair that the residents of Hacienda Heights have to shop at this sad market by default because there are no other options. Business is good because there are no competitors. I cant wait for competition so Vons realizes how subpar they are. Every time I buy produce here it goes bad within 2 days. Bought prepackaged oranges here, when i got home most of the ones in the middle of the bag were moldy! Most of the produce here sucks. Upon my visit this morning to the store on 3/23/22 @ 11:33 today. The cashier David Was very rude and inconsiderate To my mom and I. Not only did he give us a hard time but He also made us feel like wlike we didn't have enough money to be there or that we couldn't afford the things that we were purchasing. So when checking out he gave my mom a very hard time she purchased WIC items. So at the end of the purchase some items were left over and made to be paid with cash she she didn't have the cash on her all she had was the wic card. So instead of instead of helping her figure out what items were non wic he handed her the receipt and made her do it herself. No my mom is still recovering from a stroke so she has a hard time speaking let alone it's even harder when she gets frustrated or angry. Then when we try to use the card again he said that it wasn't going through it wasn't working so I swiped the card 3 different times before I realized that he was doing it on purpose. Then he looked at me and said sorry I don't know what she wanna do About this. I feel like I was forced to pay cash or just leave everything there whatever was easier for him. David not only belittled us but We were left feeling very uncomfortable and feeling like we do not belong because we use wic and EB T to purchase our groceries. read more

I have been shopping at this local Vons for over 25 years. The people that work there are generally friendly. Last Saturday, I was loading my groceries into my car when I noticed that the party chips had a rip in it. I couldn't exchange because it was the last one on the shelf. While trying to return the item, I had a bad experience. I was forced to wait and wait at the customer service counter and then questioned by the bagger as he kept examining the rip. He then asked a cashier to help me (she couldn't) and then he went over to the store manager who was ringing up customers. I was waved over and told to stand in a long line before I could be helped. I voiced my displeasure - - the bagger just shrugged and walked away. The store manager gave me attitude after deliberately ignoring me and then proceeded to argue with me when I complained. I told him I waited in line to pay for my groceries, I waited for a while at the customer service counter, I waited for the bagger to help me and now I had to waited in line for a refund - - all this for a defective item through no fault of my own. The whole incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I shop at Vons on a weekly basis. I will not be returning to this Vons for a long, long time. read more

I sure wish that this market was better. It is the only traditional market in the area, so only out of convenience do I shop here. My biggest issue is their general lack of professionalism. They don't seem to care that the market is full of expired products, that they are still stocking their shelves when other markets would have been stocked hours before. If you have an issue, they don't want to hear it, but think that refunding money resolves anything. Please check out the picture of the bug that crawled out of a recent salad purchased here. Outside and inside are two completely different stories.The problem outside is parking & shopping carts.Inside very very nice.Nice atmosphere isles are very well managed. Everyday on my way to church I like to stop at Starbucks which is inside Vons market. Today, I had the worst experience with the barista...a young female. This happened around 5:00 and 5:15 pm. This girl was so rude to me while she took my order. Aside from that...she laughed at my accent. I usually come here for last minute grocery needs or when they have a sale. Vons is a little on the expensive side, but it's definitely a great place to get your groceries. There is also a deli and Starbucks inside. 4 stars because there is always a long line at checkout. read more

I visited at a busy time (early evening), and the store was packed with customers, but only two checkout lanes were open. They never have enough registers open, and the lines are always long. If you're planning to shop here, allow at least an extra 10 minutes to account for the checkout line. read more

My rating is due to various factors. First of all their prices are a little high in comparitive to other markets which offer many times fresher produce. There never seems to be enough checkers during the high volume hours. This to me is due to poor management. It is not to tough to figure out when you need to have more staff upfront at the check stands. Like any other service businesses there are slow and peak hours. The meat service department has an Asian employee who always seems to be bothered when you ask for something out of the case. In addition he does not seem to well informed on cuts of meats. Hacienda Meats across the street is far superior. Lastly while I was shopping one of the employees dry mopping placed her mop on the end corner of the aisle nearly tripping me. Support help there seems to be unhappy and not customer oriented at all. Try asking for help finding something and the send you to the wrong aisle. Again this reflects poorly on management. As a store employee you should know where your products are. I will drive to other areas to shop just to avoid this incompetent store. They feed on location and lack of other stores in the area. Management needs to up their game. read more

This Vons is by far the cleanest I've been to. This could've been a 5 star review but that rude manager (or employee) made this review turn sour. After buying some groceries I decided to stop by their Starbucks to order a drink. While I was ordering my drink a rude employee or whomever kept interrupting me and the barista over the counter. It took me 5 minutes to say my whole order when it should be a couple of seconds. The guy had the nerve to say ," oh I didn't know you were taking her order." -__-. And if you're going to talk about hiring back someone who make your employee cry then do it in private. It makes things awkward. read more

Parking can be limited, because there are several stores that share the same parking lot. Lines can be long at times, wish they would open up more lanes when it gets busy. It has what I need, and I love that there is a Starbucks inside. read more

This Vons chain supermarket is conveniently located a couple blocks down the right after you exit the 60 East freeway on Hacienda Blvd. The great thing about this market is that they have a Starbucks right inside! So you can do your shopping while having a drink of coffee. The staff members are very nice and friendly. I've seen them ask their customers if they need help carrying the groceries to their car and actually walking them to their car. I work within the plaza of Vons and sometimes I'll have lunch with co-workers inside Vons in front of Starbucks where there are tables and the workers would pass by saying "hi." Overall this market is great. They have a variety of selections and low prices. read more

Came here for some Copper River salmon on 06/18, but the butcher wasn't around. He came a few minutes later with attitude​. I asked for Copper River salmon, but the butcher (Adolfo) tried to sell me frozen salmon instead. I told him I want the fresh salmon, but he was reluctant to check, but finally went to the back and came back with a box. He threw my fish in the bag and twirled it up then proceeded to wrap it in butcher paper. Fish is delicate and should be handled appropriately. So sloppy and unprofessional. Didn't seem like he wanted to do anything. His customer service skills are so awful. I almost told them to take the fish back because I was appalled​ by such bad service in a respectable grocery store. If I want bad service I can go elsewhere and pay less. I am very disappointed because service that same morning was really good from another employee in that same section. It's really a shame. read more

First off, I think it's kinda silly how some of the reviews on here mention "This is the last American market in Hacienda Heights!" like we're under some kind of hostile takeover by foreigners jeez. Anyway near the entrances of the store there's a banner that says "Serving Hacienda Heights Since 1963". Wow, they must be doing something right to be around for that long!
