My sis and I ordered takeout from here for breakfast and were amazed at the service we received. We were out walking with the dog, so we had to sit outside with him, and they gave us a bowl of ice water for them. They also offered us coffee or drinks while we waited. They were very kind and provided great suggestions. The food was delicious. I'm sad we didn't make it back there during our visit. The empanada was stuffed and flavorful. The tenderloin was so tender and tasty. The kids enjoyed their pancakes and French toast. I had the chorizo skillet, and it was yummy. I was trying to save some for later, but couldn't stop eating it. This is a solid place for breakfast/brunch. Looking forward to going back and sitting inside or outside. read more

I came here Sunday morning alone for breakfast and the food was really good and came out really fast. The Server seemed annoyed with me from the start and was not giving me much attention. My water sat empty for 30 minutes and never got refilled. I was done with my food and didn't get checked out until 20 minutes after I finished it. When I confronted the waitress she said she did not want to talk to me since I was on my phone even though I was looking around for the last 10 minutes. She mentioned that it took longer to get to me because it was a busy Sunday morning and that I was alone at a 4 top table but if she was paying attention to me I would have been gone from the restaurant 20 minutes earlier . I did not pick my table so I don't know why she got unset by where I was sitting. I would recommend not eating here alone and planning to wait awhile to get checked out. read more

First time visit and it was great. Cute decor and friendly, attentive servers. We started with three different empanadas. Ham, cheese, tomatoes and hot! Freshly made with cheesy dipping sauce. Yum! Jess had lomito a cabillo. It was steak, ham, cheese and potato with rye bread. She loved it. I had azul eggs which had bacon, bleu cheese and spinach over eggs with grits and a hot buttered homemade biscuit. It really was good. It's a small place and we got there around noon. I can not say enough amazing things about my experience here today. Amazing & attentive staff, great atmosphere, and AMAZING food. The menu has a variety of traditional and Argentinian style foods. There is truly something for everyone. I have never had Argentinian style foods before, and it did NOT disappoint. I would strongly recommend the "Eggs Argentinian" or "JP's Benedict." Phenomenal. Straight up a great meal. Monday around 10 am outside in the beautiful FL weather. First visit and we both found items we wanted without having to ask. My son consumed a massive portion on a twist on Eggs Benedict (one of many iterations) called Irish Benedict with corned beef hash as opposed to Canadian Bacon. I tried my best to finish off Eggs Azules which is very rich and savory. Both were absolutely delicious. They have two locations in New Smyrna. We visited the North causeway location. I stopped in this morning looking to get some Coffee and end up having a full breakfast there. The service was great probably one of the best places I have had breakfast in a while. The ambience was perfect for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Not too loud it was more than a hole in the wall place to sit and have breakfast. Really nice experience. Mariah was friendly. Restaurant was clean and attractive. In town for a day of work. At lunch wanted a BLT. Very well made sandwich and the potato salad was good with bacon on top. Sweet tea was excellent. Breakfast items looked very interesting with Argentina influence. Finally a second location open in NSB and this one is as good as the original, in regards to the physical restaurant i think it's better in regards to comfort, this family owned business easily ranks at the top when it comes to breakfast service and no other restaurant in the area comes close and believe me I've tried them all. The quality of the ingredients used to create these amazing dishes I found to be consistent between the two locations - some may argue but in my opinion their omelettes are their signature dishes hands down, you won't find any flat top cooked dried out omelettes coming out of this kitchen, these over stuffed fluffy omelettes are absolutely delicious and are filled with just about anything you crave. The staff here shares the same friendly customer service we've come to expect when visiting one of their restaurants, the smiles here are as plentiful as the coffee. It seems the customers that used to wait for a table at the beach side location have found this location to be a great alternative so this location may now have become the more popular location, the larger seating area allows more opportunity to be seated in a reasonable amount of time. The pluses include good egg-white omelets; excellent grits; gluten-free bread option; good coffee; egg white option; clean, cheery and well-lit ambiance; extensive menu options; and an early opening time (7am). The negatives include sometimes overdone omelets; pre-prepared and refrigerated mashed avocado being used on WUCN's avocado toast (making the toast ice cold); gigantic portions (would rather have a lot less food and slightly lower prices); and sometimes inattentive service. Abosuletly fantastic breakfast spot! This was my first time coming to Wake Up Cafe, but I'll defiantly make a point to get back there! I stopped her with a group of friends after a cycling ride in New Smyrna on a Sunday. We got there early enough to catch one of their few outdoor tables, but notably shortly after we got there, there started to be waiting queue of folks to eat there......I can defiantly see why this place is popular with locals. The food was pretty amazing and the service was great! We were served coffee and water quickly and provided menus. On the table there is a back story about the family that owns the restaurant.....I thought that was a nice touch and added to the legitimacy of the menu as I would classify the food selections as a mix between Argentina & American dishes.......which exactly represents the owners according to their descriptions! What's important is they do it extremely well! I ordered the Eggs Argentine. This is a punched egg on top of Peppers and sirloin steak all on an English muffin. Truthfully, I am usually skeptical of a dish like this at a small restaurant like this....my experience is that often other restaurants over cook the sirloin....Not here! The sirloin was cooked absolutely beautifully at a medium rare, the entire dish was amazing and presented very well. The setting is humble for sure, but the dish was one of the best dishes that I've had all month! It wasn't just the sirloin cooked extremely well, the eggs and peppers were also cooked to perfection. The dish came with a side of homemade fried potatoes. Just the right crispness without being overdone. Bottom line - I appreciate the level of care and attention that the Wake-up cafe had taken to make sure that #1 they had a stellar dish on their menu & #2 it was executed with perfection and care. I've been here before and have liked it but the past two times my coffee was extremely watered down and the food was not good. I always get the traditional eggs Benedict but the eggs were cooked through (just about hard boiled) and tasted strongly of vinegar. If you can't poach an egg, you shouldn't have eggs Benedict on your menu. Our waitress did not stop by after we got our food and when we were ready to pay we couldn't find our waitress so we sat and waited. Finally we saw her sitting at the bar eating and talking to the other staff so we brought the check to her. Will not be going back. read more

Yep, definitely worth the hype. Had the Lomito Azul, a beef tenderloin sandwich with Bleu Cheese, bacon and red onion on an artisan roll. Man, there was a party goin on in my mouth.. Iiked the way they got that nice crust on the sliced tenderloin without drying it out. So good it didn't even need the bacon. Yes, I said it. Aioli fries were a cut above as well. Very disappointed in my meal (see the picture) and my service today. My waitress basically ignored me once I got my food, playing with her phone and visiting with some regulars at the counter instead of working. I told the other waitress who finally brought me a box that she should keep my tip, and tell the other girl why..she just laughed.
