I was so excited about the great Yelp reviews because this place is literally walking distance from my apartment! I decided to try it out before my NYC trip since I didn't feel like sitting in traffic on the way to Santa Monica. The woman did a great job filing my nails, but then it was time to paint. It was obvious that the black gel nail polish was a terrible product. She'd put it on and then minutes later the color would be running or receding or fading, anything other than sitting where it was placed. She kept trying really hard to get it to set, but I realized it wasn't really working. I asked her if we could get another black to paint over it, and she just ignored me. She told her coworkers that she hated this polish and how bad the brand must be. Yet she didn't ask me if I wanted to switch to another color, etc. I really wish she had, because as hard as she tried to make it work, it didn't. I would've asked for a refund or asked for a redo, but I didn't want to embarrass her in front of the owners and other customers. Because I have a soft spot for almost everything, especially adorable old Asian ladies (creepy yeah), I couldn't say no to this deserted nail salon when one of the technicians exclaimed, "OH HONEYY WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUUUU!" *drags me to the selection of nails* I should've known. Empty nail salons are not a good sign, but it was too late to turn back. I had both the mani+pedi for $23, which is a pretty decent price but the job they've done with my nails chipped in minutes! Been going here for three years! Tracy is queen of nails! She is always ahead of the game with what is in with the nail polish colors. She does my mani and pedi very thorough and precise. My mani lasts for a good week without chipping. Parking is a bit difficult on Westwood Blvd, but I usually find a spot after circling twice!! Most places in the west side has same problem. I'd say that VT Nails did a pretty pitiful spa pedicure job. And a job is really all it was. It certainly wasn't an experience. Dip the feet in the water once, then clip the nails, cut the cuticles, optional loofah sponge and polish all in a matter of about 10 minutes while sitting in a dirty massage chair. The polish was sloppily applied with obviously no concern for the appearance of the finished product. Perhaps I got the inexperienced one in the group because the pedicure being performed next to me looked better. At least they have dryers. I guess you get what you pay for. I'll pay more for better quality next time. read more

The American guy did my pedicure and it was obvious he preferred not to do pedicures and he wasn't very good at them. Finally found my go to nail spot in Westwood! After a lot of hits and misses with the neighborhood salons, Mila's delicate and meticulous touch won me over. This is my second time here and both times I was able to quickly get seated for a gel manicure. The prices are as affordable as they can get in the area which is nice for students such as myself. I swear I perform better in all my dental lab work when my nails are prettied up....which is convenient as finals are just around the quarter and I'm loving my manicure right now. I just started getting gel manicures with Sandra and she is amazing! Pays attention to every detail and you leave with almost perfect looking nails. The actual nail salon can use some updating but I go here for the nail techs. All pedicures are in the spa. Parking is also very easy to find. I live in the in the neighborhood just a few blocks away, and there are at least 4-5 Nail Salons within walking distance on Westwood blvd. I have had very good experiences the times I've been. The owner lady is friendly, cheerful and sweet (not always the case in other nail salons). The price is as good as it gets - 13 for pedicure, or 23 for mani/pedi. They also have a great selection of Spa package- I get the Package C which includes Spa pedicure, callus treatment, hot towel wrap. It's a relaxing treat for only 22$! A few days ago after my pedicure, I was walking to my car when the big toe color got smeered with the 2nd toe (wasn't fully dried), I went back with that sad look on my face and they knew exactly what happened. These instances show the quality of service salons have. Both the owner and guy who did my nails welcomed me back in like family, with a smile, said "No problem" and re-painted the color (while other nail salons may have that annoyed look on their face and start screaming $%^& in Vietnamese). I was so ecstatic to find a place that consistently does an amazing job. My french mani last about 2 weeks! Price for a spa mani/pedi is $23. I guess the price had dropped since the last reviews which are outdated. When I want to pamper myself, they have a awesome Deluxe pedi package for $45 which is approx 1hr long treatment. It includes a regular pedi plus callus removal, sugar foot scrub, a clay foot masque, and mini foot massage. My foot gets so soft after this treatment. I even took my bf here for the treatment and he loved it! The only thing is would say is parking sucks on Westwood. However they do have a couple of free spots in the back of the salon. read more

I don't know if the people who work there are tired or just out of it but I have only been there twice and both times, they have cut my cuticles too far and I end up having an infected finger. (blah blah i normally don't get my cuticles cut but it had been sooo long since i had a mani...) The first time I went I vowed never to go again but then my cousin who goes there all the time, who by the way, never gets butchered, was like "Oh no. New management. It's better now." Lies! I guess I just wanted to like it because it's close to my house and convenient. You know, how when you wish you could force yourself to fall love with your best guy friend because let's face it, "it would be so perfect." Well, neither one is a good idea. I got pedicure here in October. It was awful. Firstly, it was painful... she scrubbed at my skin while filing my nails to nubs. One big toe nail was half the length of the other and was as uncomfortable for weeks after as if I had broken it half way down. The customer service at this place is terrible. I went to this place a few time because of my girlfriend. Every time something was wrong and the cleanliness of the place is questionable. The last time I was there my nails were crooked and when I complained about it the lady who seems to be the owner was very rude to me. After that experience I had enough, crooked nails, never on time and not so clean was enough reason for me! I left a review after that experience and then later was notified by yelp that my review was removed because it didn't have enough details!! Yeah right!!! Yelp has no problem if you say something like "Oh this place is great" but stating that customer service is terrible is not enough details. Sounds to me some $$$ is involved here. Tiffany did a great job giving me a pedicure. Been coming to this place for over a year now and been leaving happy every time.

I came last minute on a Sunday because my girl from another nail salon was on vaca. I waited about 20 minutes because they were busy, but it was worth the wait. Tracy is amazing, takes her time and the nails and waxing all came out perfect for me. The lady who did my pedicure could have taken a little more time, but the outcome was great.
