James and Josh are awesome and have always come through with the repairs, when many of the big name RV places in town (Las Vegas) have failed. I have to warn you, try to get a price quote before you have them come to you for service. I…read moretrusted them to be fair with me and that was a huge mistake. My generator would fire but not continue to run. First they charged $175.00 just to show up. Then said I needed a new starter at $341.00 plus labor. (154.00 on Amazon and $150.00 thru Cummins). They replaced the carburetor which was brand new. (They only charged me for labor). after three trips to my house they took the generator out and took it with them and had it for over a month. Then replaced the belt pully on the flywheel. Next they replaced the brush block assembly, $102.00 ($89.00 on Amazon). Next, replaced the fuel pump with the wrong one, labor only. Total labor cost $1400.00. They were supposed to be knowledgeable with generators! I paid for their education and trail and error method of repairing and 8 hours of labor at $175.00 per hour not knowing what they were doing. The total bill was originally $2500.00 and I refused to pay that much. They settled for $2000 and the whole time it was only a $25.00 fuel pump. Should have been no more than $300.00 or $400.00 if they knew what they were doing.

If you check my other reviews you'll notice there are hundreds of good reviews and only a sprinkle of bad ones. I feel that every business is entitled to a bad day or a random one off bad experience with a customer, and I'd rather use my yelp platform to help businesses and community succeed. With that said, here was my experience with Modern Electric, and I'll leave it to the clients to decide whether or not to choose them or go a different route. My regular electrician was out of town when an emergency came up at a property I rent out. I contacted Modern Electric about an electric line to a water heater that wasn't working. We noticed that it was actually burned a little and my handyman said that it looked like the circuit wasn't installed right from the beginning and was overloading. They said I would need a professional electrician because we would most likely need to run a new line to get it up to code etc. I will say that the man I spoke to responded quickly and was able to come out almost right away which was very nice, and the reason he is getting 2 stars instead of 1. He didn't inform me of any service fee, but I assumed there would be one anyway and with previous electricians I was prepared to spend between $75 and $100 just for the call itself and then whatever the cost to re-do whatever needed to be re-done. The person I spoke with and texted with did not give me a quote on the service call. In fact, no mention of payment was ever discussed prior to him going to the house. 5 minutes after he got there he texted me that we only needed a new water heater and just the little wire could possibly be replaced if I wanted, but I would need to have the water heater installed first (it's an electric water heater) and then he left. This didn't seem right but i took his word for it anyway and called my plumber. When my plumber got out there to inspect the area for a new heater, he said that we absolutely need a new line because the old one was very clearly on the wrong amps (or whatever it's called) and most likely would need a new line run from the main breaker in order for it to be up to code. He said he obviously can't install an electric water heater without proper electricity, so the line needed to be done first. This is essentially what my handyman said as well, and since Modern didn't seem to know what to do, or was unwilling to do it, I ended up calling another electrician to complete this work. After all this I was still willing to pay for the service call as I believe people should be paid for their time. I was the one who had to reach out to him to have him send me an invoice. He then told me it would be $160. I was STILL willing to pay this, but I thought I'd tell him my feedback instead of writing a bad review about it. I told him that $165 is a lot more than others charge and that he was actually wrong about what needed to happen. He responded with hostility and told me to never contact him again. Please see pictures of his response. Do I think he probably does a good job with simple things like ceiling fans or light fixtures? Sure. But if you have something a little more complex I would caution you to go somewhere else. I will also say here that his service call fee is $160 since it's listed no where online and he doesn't tell you up front how much it will be. He also told me to "keep the money, I don't need it." So he obviously doesn't need any new business and doesn't care to make a new or returning clients out of anyone because he's so very much booked and blessed. Best to go somewhere else where they do need the business, as they might take better care of you.

I can't say enough to express our upmost appreciation for the time, quality, and kindness that…read moreKevin and his trainee, Javante showed us during our service call. We called Legacy Air to take advantage of their summer AC tune up special. When Kevin came out he explained to us what his visit will entail, which included taking a look at our furnace. That seemed odd to us since it was summer but he took the time to explain that 30% of the AC function is facilitated by the furnace. We've been in our home for 9 years. Every year we've had another company come out and service our AC and never have they explained to us that the AC and furnace work hand in hand nor did they look at the furnace when they came out to service the AC. After inspection of our AC unit Kevin came in and went over everything that is going on with the unit in full detail. He told us we had a leak, which we were aware of but he offered us the option to apply a seal to add to the fluid that he would add into the AC system and would be back in a month to see if it worked. We have never had any other company offer us the option of a seal. He spent 2 hours working on our system in this Las Vegas heat, all the while keeping in good spirits. At the end of the service, Kevin offered us a membership for a year that includes service for AC, furnace and plumbing. After the amazing service provided by Kevin and his trainee Javante, we couldn't turn down the membership. We've requested that Kevin be our service provider going forward.

Legacy was once a reputable company, but over the past one to two years the quality of service has…read moresignificantly declined. During that time, I have repeatedly been given inaccurate information regarding service recommendations and repairs that later appeared unnecessary. Today's service appointment was the most concerning example. I maintain a paid annual club membership that includes maintenance for both my tankless water heater and HVAC system. The technician arrived nearly two hours late and appeared exhausted. Most troubling, the scheduled tankless water heater flush -- the primary purpose of the visit -- was never performed. Instead, the technician took photographs and left without completing the service. Two days prior to this appointment I seriously considered canceling my membership due to ongoing concerns with the company's declining service standards. Unfortunately, I decided to give Legacy one final opportunity and renewed the membership. The outcome of today's appointment unfortunately confirmed my concerns. As a result, I will now be pursuing a chargeback for services that were paid for but not delivered. This level of service is unacceptable. After five years as a loyal customer, I expected professional conduct, timely service, and completion of the work that was scheduled. What occurred instead reflects a troubling lack of accountability and respect for long-standing customers.

He also advised my husband that he is closed on weekends even though his hours states open on Saturday and closed Sunday. Again, I don't mind waiting but just a simple communication would have been helpful is all. If the business doesn't operate on weekends then the hours on Yelp should be adjusted accordingly. ******************************************* I truly wished to have the same positive experience as the five-star ratings, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. On Friday, June 13th, I reached out to Fixin Dixon Mobile RV through a message on YELP regarding an issue with my shower, which was spurting water due to a cracked plastic piece. Bill responded quickly, provided his cell number, and suggested I contact him on Saturday morning. Sounds great, right? That's what I thought! Since we were out of town and I was attending an all-day conference, my husband stepped in to reach out. He left a voicemail, and Bill eventually returned the call to schedule a time to inspect our shower. We arranged for him to come on Thursday, June 19th. During the visit, Bill informed my husband that he would check a few places for a replacement part. My husband followed up on Friday, June 20th, only to hear that Bill had been unable to find the part and would look at Home Depot. He mentioned that we might need to replace the entire shower faucet, but we haven't heard from him since, and now it's Monday, June 23rd. I don't mind waiting, but a lack of communication from a business is frustrating. In short, my husband managed to find a temporary part while we look for a more reliable service. I advise proceeding with caution! You might have a great experience, or you could end up disappointed like I did.
