The new vegan steak is SO DELICIOUS. Loved it with the veggies and brown rice. We thought we'd accidentally been given real steak.

Our office is around the corner and I was hoping to enjoy this spot for work lunches. The people that joined me rave about Waba Grill just mentioned other locations taste much better. I ordered the chicken bowl with vegi's and avocado. First off the vegi's were cold, not even room temp yet cold and a huge chunk of cabbage filled up most of the bowl making less room to fill it up with chicken or rice. Even the sliced carrots and broccoli were cold. After spending $11 for this dish it left me disappointed and still hungry. I doubt I'll ever return to this location again. read more

This place hires the worse cashiers ever. They have no respect or any sense of being there. They have horrible attitudes and don't even wear name badges. They seem like they weren't even trained as if they were just put there. Sadly I won't be coming back simply because it doesn't feel welcoming. I love the idea of this place and healthier alternatives should grow like this chain is doing. My problem is that the rice wasn't fully cooked- it was harder than it should be in the center like al Dente pasta that's too al dente. I go to Waba Grill in Pasadena all the time and I usually get the chicken veggie bowl and ask them to throw the vegetables on to the grill.. the staff acted as if I asked if they could part the Red Sea. The manager denied the request to throw some funky ass vegetables on the grill. Which resulted in me not even purchasing anything from here. In the 5-6 times I've been to Waba I've yet to have a bad experience. The staff is marginal at best, but the food is tasty and I personally haven't had any run-ins with the staff as far as attitude is concerned. The price might be a little hefty, made me bring the star rating to 3...But what can you expect in Los Angeles? If you like teriyaki it's a nice quick stop to satisfy your craving. If you're looking for anything above and beyond the ordinary, this probably isn't the place for you. 3 1/2 stars is my official grade. read more

I generally like this place, I normally go to the location on Ventura but I guess since it's a franchise that location is closed on Sunday's.
