Just left here and will NOT return, I'll go to the Diamond Bar location from now on, even if it is further away. The cashier on duty on 6/30/21 at about 7:30 pm is just plain MISERABLE. He sounds so extremely rude when he's talking to you it's insane. Everyone there noticed it. It was my daughter and I there so clearly I was going to order more than one bowl, but after I ordered the first one he was about to give me my total and didn't ask if I wanted anything else, he was just ready to move on to the next customer. I had to let him know I would tell him when I was done ordering. So I continued with my order which was three different bowls and dumplings. I asked for a 20 piece dumpling and was told they didn't have enough for a 20 piece but they had enough for 10 so I ordered a 10 piece dumpling. I paid for my order and sat down to wait. The customer immediately behind me placed his order and ordered 10 dumplings and the cashier said nothing to him about not having any dumplings available. WHAT!?!? Now correct me if I'm wrong but the last time I checked 10+10 = 20 so he could have filled my 20 piece order and I have no idea why he told me he didn't have enough for 20. But whatever. There were too many customers there for me to go back and question him about it. As we waited people kept coming in for their online orders and the cashier very rudely told them all it was gonna be at least 15 minutes before their order was ready and the customers were getting visibly upset because why order online only to get there and have to wait 15 MORE minutes??? And on top of that being told the way the they were, with such rudeness and disrespect??? I can't even explain how rude he was. I don't write reviews for very many places unless their service is crap. But he needs to cheer up, especially since he's face to face with customers. He just seemed so ANGRY. I wanna feel sorry for him but I can't, he was THAT bad. I'd give zero stars but the food was bomb, so right on to the chef. But the cashier has got to go. read more

This place is great. It is like flamebroilers even got the sauces basically. Got the chicken+beef plate with brown rice and it was great. Only diff is they charge for brown rice :( The food was cooked perfectly, their waba sauce is a lil thicker but the spicy sauce was the same. This is a lil heavier than Lee's Teriyaki. But overall I think I will frequent this place a lot. Decent prices, healthy selection, and great taste. Even the interior is nice and clean. Almost like Flamebroiler, except you get the option of salmon or salad, which I didn't try. The place didn't leave me disappointed. The price of dishes were slightly cheaper than Flamebroiler, unless you request brown rice of course. The only complain I have about this place is that they should go lighter on the teriyaki sauce. Since the teriyaki sauce is pretty heavy, I think they should not drench their meat with it because it makes it quite... salty. But other than that I'm one happy camper! Will return! read more

With all the Teriyaki bowls and flame broiler locations popping up, what makes this Waba Grill different? A slight difference in options, and just a tad bit cheaper. This place is good because it is consistent in its freshness, the sauces, and the fact that you can choose other rices, sides, and such. Some other teriyaki places end up having really oily rice and I hate that. I enjoyed the chicken/beef bowls with some added hot sauce on the side. If you go here with a coupon you will be pleasantly surprised being able to feed two people for about 4 bucks each- good times! Stay healthy and come here for a meal. read more

Food is amazing but this review based solely on service. I said Brown rice and For here and got white rice to go. It's not a big deal, I still ate the food but it shows that she didn't care to listen to what I was saying which says a lot about a person and reflects badly on the company. She didn't repeat my order which made me assume she had it right. I shouldn't have to correct, they should just not get it wrong. First of all, I love Waba Grill for their healthy choices. I usually get the salmon veggie bowl, brown rice, no onions, no sauce. Their bowls definitely beat Flame Broiler any day. More flavor and never dry. Not busy but expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes for your bowl. So unless you have the time I suggest placing your order over the phone. So why the 2 stars? You would think that every chain store is all in the same. But I'm a stickler for great customer service. Last night I called to see what time they closed and the lady said 9PM. I arrive at 8:50PM happy that I made it in time. Customers are mingling outside and some still dining inside. I walk up to the register and the cashier doesn't even look up to acknowledge my presence as she is counting her pennies. I patiently wait then she finally looks up at me and says, "Credit card only okay?".. I let her know I only have cash and I don't exactly live super close. She walks over to look at the clock and rudely tells me, "No we're ALMOST closed! Credit card only because I already counted my change okay?!" Lazy ass! This place is just like Flame Broiler except the portions are bigger. They also do a salmon plate and you can add avocado to any dish. I'm not sure how the prices compare though. It's a clean, fairly spacious restaurant. You can dine in or take out. My only gripe is that 80% of the time our take out order is incorrect. People working at this place don't have any costumer service skills, they are rude and never say please or thank you! The two girls at the register are always either angry who knows!!! They both run credit cards and throw the receipt and pen so you sign it without saying a word! They both need better training to be polite and make costumers feel welcome. Never Going Bad Customer Service! First of all online it says it closes at 9pm but they dont they close at 8pm .. I purposely picked this one because it's close to home and I was getting food for my mom who is sick so when I arrive there minutes BEFORE 8am they closed the doors already then when they opened the door to explain to me that they're close mined it's still before 8pm they still did not want to assist me. FIrst and foremost, this place is WAY BETTER THAN THE FLAME BROILER! Not only is the food more flavorful, you get more bang for your buck here, no doubt about it! Everything about Waba Grill is better than the Flame Broiler. Their chicken, beef, brown rice and even teriyaki sauce leaves Flame Broiler in the dust. Service is fast and efficient. This particular location is clean, spacious, great lighting and has plenty of parking. Nice thing about this place is that there are plenty of available seats and it isn't too busy, which makes it also a good place to study.
