I usually love this place. I usually love the food. But the way I and my family got treated tonight was absolutely unacceptable. Scott, the manager who also waited on us screwed up our order. Then when we told him about it, he was very rude and even called us names. I have never been treated so awfull by a punk kid before! I was pretty impressed with Waba Grill. The rice bowls are very good. Reminds me of a simpler Hawaiian Bbq with the optional sides of teriyaki and soy to compliment the meat . If you are looking to cut your "textbook" style fast food outta the way and go for something on the healthier side then check these guys out. For about $7.00 I had the 1/2 and 1/2 bowl with chicken and beef on top of a fairly generous amount of white rice, topped with diced green onions. (optional) Nice to see they have a good variety on beverages as well such as 100% juices and even Muscle Milk located in a fridge next to the main counter. Their food is REALLY good. They do charge extra for certain things but that's to be expected IMO. The staff can either be super nice or not lol. They usually hook it up with good portions. Most of the time they get my order correct but sometimes they don't. So I give Waba grill 3 stars because they could be more consistent with customer service as well as getting the order right. With more improvement I could change my mind and give 5 stars if they start addressing some things. read more

Not to happy with this place. Came in and ordered the brown rice and chicken/veggie bowl. They gave me white rice, when I brought it to the attention of the girl behind the counter she was very rude to me. I had to prove to her with my receipt that I had in fact ordered brown rice. She looked at me and said " so what do you want me to make you a whole new bowl"? When I said yes she rolled her eyes. I love this spot! I always get the chicken or steak bowls with veggies. The veggies are cooked just how I like them. Tender but not soggy. Meat is cooked well also. Full of flavor. Menu is thoughtful. Place is clean. Employees ruined our meal with obnoxious behavior- loud singing, gossiping, choreographed dancing in the kitchen, inappropriately short daisy dukes. What may have been a nice date night was ruined by total unprofessional and unenjoyable atmosphere. Sorry - you missed the mark by making BEING THERE ANNOYING AND UNPLEASANT! I'm not a big fan of this franchise in general. The meat is alright, but the veggies are terrible. Service is ok, and the vibe in this Yucaipa location is just dead. Tried the shrimp too, and it seemed a little sketchy. Probably have some better options if you're looking for a healthier Asian fare food. read more

Great place to stop and eat. The food is healthy and tastes great. I eat here several times a week for lunch and always have the best service. No complaints what so ever. I also have a gluten allergy and the employees are always happy to make my food with out soy sauce. read more

I went there today, I ordered my food and the girl who helped me was really friendly. The lady who was at the register who was Indian I believe she was making a deposit looked like, was very rude, kept looking at the other customers grabbing sauce, I went up to get my order and asked her where a certain sauce was and she had such an attitude about it, grabbed it and threw it back down into the bowl. like she didn't want people grabbing the package sauce. I used to love this place when the owner was actually in the business more to manage the place but now it's pretty much ran by young kids that don't have a clue what they are doing. The last two visits I've been given the wrong order and had to go back and simply got a "sorry". The Vegis are never cooked all of the way and they kids serving it appear higher than a kite. Just had the worst experience tonight me and my wife when in for a healthy dinner we ordered a chicken bowl and a steak bowl. We received our food and we begin to eat and it was COLD! The chicken was cold, the steak was cold even the vegetables were cold. I returned our food and asked for our money back but the woman at the register didn't know how to perform this duty, so as I stood there she had to call someone to help her with this process finally I received my money back. Food is very flavorful and yet clean tasting. There is no fat on the meat and the waba hot sauce is the bomb.

Let me start off saying that I love this location and its staff. I am met with a nice smile, and my food is served to me in a timely matter. I have BUT one BIG COMPLAINT that gives this location only one star for me. I am not the person to make complaints let alone create an account on yelp for people to listen to me on the internet because frankly I usually care less BUT today I complain because this is the SECOND time I have found a foreign object in my food. When I walked into the location no one was wearing hair nets or gloves and upon finishing my meal I find a think back stray hair sitting on my rice. Typically I do not complain, it happens, BUT not even a few weeks ago I ordered a salmon plate and found a DEAD FLY MIXED ON MY SALAD COVERED WITH THEIR SALAD DRESSING! I've already complained to corporate and I'm hoping something is to be done with their inspection process or AT LEAST PUT HAIR NETS ON. read more

Waba Grill has great food. We all had the chicken vegetable bowls. The chicken was moist and the veggies fresh. The cashier was working both the register and the kitchen and answering the phone. Her job should just be register and phone. We'll return in the future. read more

This was very disappointing...when I got there there was a rat hanging out right outside the building. Wouldn't be surprised if it was hanging out in the restaurant as well. The inside was disgusting. Sticky counters, dirty looking kitchen and very unprofessional work attire on the employees. They weren't refilling on the sauces, drink lids, etc. as for the food the vegetables were not steamed what so ever. The carrots were cut into giant hard pieces as well as the cabbage. I just had the worst customer service at Yucaipa Waba Grill! The young girl working the register was rude and looked miserable like she did not want to be there. I was not greeted or anything. The guy handed her my to go bag of food and all she did was put her hand out for my payment. No hi, hello, how are you...NOTHING!!! I just happened to be working tonight at a business near by in the same shopping center and went I got back with my food to eat it, it was very cold. I went back to tell them it was cold and all the girl did was throw it away. Then looked at me like it was my problem not hers because they were busy. In fact, when I asked her for a new one, that's what she told me, it's not our fault! She needs to learn REAL customer service! This girl needs some serious training and attitude adjustment! There was about a dozen forestry fire fighters in there waiting for there WARM meal, well guess what?! There food was setting on the counter in the back getting cold waiting for the chicken to be added to their COLD rice and veggies! Just awful!!! I am a huge Waba Grill fan. For the last 8 months I have had Waba at least five times per week and it has really been a great help in my weight loss while having to eating fast food on the go. I live in Yucaipa but prefer not to go to this location because I always felt I get skimped on meat and rice compared to all the other locations I go to. I always don't enjoy how overcooked the chicken is when I have gone. Today I wanted Waba and was out in town so I decided to give them a try again. What a mistake! Same issues but I was also surprised that the same chicken bowl with white meat and brown rice that I get at other locations for 7.72 with tax was now 9.02 with tax. I know city to city there is different tax ranges but I looked at the receipt and saw they changed 80 cents for a brown rice substitution that is free elsewhere. They don't even give 80 cents worth of rice to start with! They also charge more than normal on the chicken upgrade. All in all, Im done with Yucaipa Waba grill and the sister location in highland! If rather get teriyaki time across the street. read more

Ive never had a problem with this place. I like the food, and if you go in after hitting the gym they give a discount.
