On the way to an appointment, I was craving comfort food. Waffle House appeared on the Horizon. Tiki Hubby and I sat at the counter. Greeted by the very busy staff we had our drinks in seconds. Loud and busy we watched in amazement as Marcus and Deshaun did their magic and made us a yummy hot breakfast. My favorite is their cheese omelette so light and fluffy stuffed with cheeses goodness, whole wheat toast and the famous hashbrowns. Delicious. This Waffle House on IH30 in Garland is truly amazing from the great welcome from their staff to quick service, helpful suggestions by our waitress Chy (pronounced Shy) and great food cooked by Cam - he knows exactly what SOFT cheese & eggs are! This is the perfect place for late night grubbing. We came here around 12:30am one night and it was fairly busy. Not busy enough that we had to wait on a table. My spouse and I placed an order on the new app for a to go order however, the options we wanted were not on there. We drove up there and decided to dine in because there was a ready booth. My husband is disabled so this is quit a hard thing for us to do..... we grabbed the attention of the waitress and told her we wanted to change the order to in restaurant instead of to the next thing I know "Joey" came to the table and said you cannot do that my husband simply asked why he said because ITS A TO ORDER. It's on the door again my husband can barely walk he looks down and would not have seen it and I did not see it.... My husband asked why is that the policy "Joey" said I don't know call corporate and then had enough of his condescending tone and attitude I asked why he was being rude... I'm not needless to say we cancelled the order and I am not arguing the fact a to go order is just that a too go order but this guy was a team lead and he acted like a jerk... we have gone to that Waffle House for 12 + years.... I made a scene because I wanted everyone to know the discrimination and condescending manner in which they acted. This location was once good. Got a take out AllStar today. They left the country gravy off of my LARGE order of hash browns! When I called the surly manager said I could either come back for my gravy right now or later. Since I didn't want to drive 10 minutes each way for a side of gravy they forgot I said no way! This place is great, and not just by Waffle House standards. The hash browns are, as expected, the best thing ever. They're just soft enough, but just crispy enough. The sausage is nice and dark, but not overcooked, the bacon is crispy and delicious, and the grits are creamy and smooth. The service is fast, friendly, an attentive, and the cook is clearly a boss at what he does. Having not been to a Waffle House in 6 years, I can honestly say I'm so freaking glad this place exists and I will probably be here every Saturday to get a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese hashbrown bowl. If I can give zero stars, I would! This place is disgusting and the people who work there are rude. I orders several waffles, hash browns, and CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. For starters we received nothing but waffles back. We also received breast chicken. I have been to Waffle House and when I ask for chicken and waffles, they always give me a waffle and chicken strips. Apparently, according to one of the workers, we did not specify what kind of chicken we wanted. On top of that, they tried accusing us saying we did not ask for hasbrowns. Instead of saying, I'm sorry, I did not hear you mention hasbrowns. They decided to accuse us and say we did not order it AND decided to charge us STILL. After mentioning the two nasty chicken breast in our order, they replaced the chicken with chicken strips at no cost, BUT only including ONE chicken strip for my two chicken and waffle orders.
